I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service and work done at the Garage Body Shop. I shopped around for different quotes to get the front bumper/fog lamp repaired from a hit and run earlier this summer. The quotes ranged from Joe's at $1,222 to others around $2,400. Since my deductible was $1,000, I didn't want to go through my insurance company. I dropped my vehicle off late Monday afternoon, 9/30 knowing that it might not be done by the end of the week. However, Joe was true to his word that it would take three days. When I picked it up yesterday, Friday 10/4, I was thrilled to see the completed work without any hidden costs as I've seen with previous car repair businesses. He also buffed out and painted some heavy scratches I've incurred over time parking in our garage without charging me. Also, the car was washed and spotless inside and out. I needed a new bumper from a hit and run, and not wanting to go through my insurance and pay a high deductible, I was able to save a bit of money and do a cash sale. After I dropped my car off on the morning of repair, I couldn't find a ride home, so they were more than happy to give me a lift home and pick me up 4 hrs later when the repair was finished! When I got down there to look at my car, not only was the bumper new and shiny, but my car was washed and had a few scratches buffed out. It was like icing on the cake! The first time I took a car to The Garage, I needed the front passenger door and side panel replaced after another driver flung open her door without noticing that I had parked next to her. I picked The Garage because it's near where I live and I wanted to support a local, family-owned business. The man I talked to, Nate, took down the information he needed to contact my insurance company and then drove me to Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Orchard (which I hadn't known was there). Within a week, the mechanics had not only replaced the panels, but had nicely matched the faded silver paint on the rest of my eight-year-old car. The second time, my mom had discovered that someone had dented her front passenger door and taken off without leaving a note. I recommended The Garage. An employee actually drove her home when she brought her car in and then picked her up a few days later when the car was ready. The door-to-door lifts were very much appreciated because my mom was then in her 70s and walked with a cane. The third time I took a (new) car to The Garage, I needed the back bumper replaced after a minor rear-ender. Again I got a ride to the rental car place, and again the repairs were done in a few days and the paint matched perfectly. The fourth time I took a car to The Garage, the damage was extensive. It had been rear-ended while parked, and the left tail-light, trunk lid, bottom of the trunk/car, back bumper, front bumper, spare tire, and spare tire cover all needed to be replaced. The Garage got it all done in three weeks and left the car looking brand-new on the outside. When I came back a couple days later to pick up one of the manuals -- my car is a hybrid, and someone had probably consulted the manual -- I mentioned that the Check Engine light had come on that morning, so I was heading to the Toyota dealership. I told them I knew The Garage hadn't worked on the engine at all and figured it was due for a checkup. But Nate offered to run a diagnostic, read the results, asked when I'd last put gas in the car, tightened the gas cap, erased the Check Engine log entry, turned the car off, then on. Problem solved: Check Engine doesn't mean just a problem with the engine; it can also mean the gas cap is loose. Take note, Toyota hybrid owners. I should note that when I dropped off the car on Visit No. 4, I couldn't get there until nearly three hours past the 5:00 closing time on a Friday night, because the accident happened in late afternoon in San Jose. I left a message on the after-hours voicemail without much hope and was astonished when Nate called me back and said he'd come back to The Garage to check in my car. After all that, when the tow driver took off for his next call, Nate drove me home so I wouldn't have to wait for a taxi in the dark. I've gone through my history with The Garage to make it clear why I keep going back to this place: The employeers/owners are easy to deal with, know how to work with insurance companies, use quality parts (NOT the cheap plastic panels that easily pop off), work quickly and well, are attentive to detail, including the paint (whether the car is ten years old or less than a year off the lot), and give exceptional customer service. read more

Miraculous Recovery!! that's how I felt when I saw my car after Nat fixed it from an accident. My car's body lines were soo ...smooth and the color was like a brand new from top to bottom. Nat was courtesy though all my communications with him ( 5) and never made me feel like I was interrupting him. I had a deadline to get my car back before my trip and though I could see he had a lot of business when i came and there was also a holiday coming up - he got it done on time and to my complete satisfaction.
