A hidden gem tucked inside a nursery with beautiful, serene grounds. There's a small parking lot, but plenty of street parking nearby. We visited on a Friday night and there was live music. They serve 12-inch wood-fired pizzas and pizza by the slice with a small seasonal menu. This was my second visit, and I definitely noticed the prices have gone up. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and the kale salad. The hour wait was expected since they warned us beforehand. The pizza was a little too charred for our liking, but still good. The kale salad was delicious! The dressing paired perfectly with the avocado and green onions. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're in the area. Just be prepared for higher prices and a potentially long wait. read more

I spent a weekend in Mt Shasta and this restaurant was definitely the food highlight of my trip. The restaurant is beautiful, sitting right inside a garden (which was unfortunately closed when we went, but it still looked cute). The kitchen area is a tiny little stand, but they were so efficient in taking orders and getting food out. I was definitely expecting a long wait but was pleasantly surprised with the speed. I had one of the ciders, a specialty pizza, and the espresso cheesecake. The beers were great, the pizza was delicious, the combination of the bleu cheese and the hot honey was amazing and the crust was just perfect for a pizza. The espresso cheesecake wasn't anything amazing, definitely wound't order again. Overall a 10/10 experience and I'll definitely come back here next time I'm in Shasta! read more

We live 1.5 hours away but visit the area pretty much every weekend during the summer months and we absolutely have to have a dinner here !!! Such a lovely & peaceful natural setting. Outstanding pizzas from an authentic wood burning pizza oven--located oddly in the middle of a plant nursery. Live guitarist was playing on a Saturday night--Rick was awesome! We had a nice meal here. We walked in around 5:30pm on a Saturday, it was busy but not packed. The setting inside the garden center is wonderful. As we pondered the menu a hostess came by and assigned us a table. Then we ordered a pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, and two beers. Cost came to around $55 - my husband added a 10% tip (I probably would not have because I'm tired of being made to feel bad because the machine asks me to tip) but I would advise you that in this case a tip is not warranted. You get a buzzer to pick up food when it's ready and you bus your own table. We took the beers back to the table and waited for our food. Salad was ready first. Full size portion was shareable for two and when split made a decent side salad. Everything tasted great! Pizza was ready about 20 minutes later and was very good, but pretty greasy from the pepperoni. Beers were local and also good. At one point we saw the hostess put up a sign indicating to guests to wait to be seated. Worth a try if it isn't too busy. read more

So, my vibrating coaster thing buzzes after about 30-40 mins. wait for my dinner...I go up to trade coaster thingy for my pizza. There are two pizzas. I had one. Literally, the next party in line (I am #12, they are #13) arrive at the exact moment I do. "I had the Ode to the Goat," say I. "We had the Ode to the Goat, too," says #13 guy next to me. There are two pizzas there, and there is only one Goat. Does the girl serving-up the food say anything directly to us to answer the confusion? No...for the next couple of minutes she just looks at the receipts in mild panic and confusion, sort of talking to herself. Finally, it took #13 guy to turn to me and say, "Just take this one." To which I just glare at confused girl in disgust and take my pizza, finally able to eat my dinner in this glorified beer garden tent that charges white-tablecloth prices. $34 for a medium-sized pizza and a cup of kombucha. I had to sit there and eat my overpriced (and yes, very good) food, feeling undeservedly gluttonous in front of the five other people in my party who hadn't received their food yet, and wouldn't until after I finished mine. This is not good restauranteuring practice. What a completely underwhelming, disappointing, overpriced experience I hope never to have again. Going easy on you with two stars. read more

This is the best Italian style pizza I have had since I was in Alba, Italy for the Truffle Festival a few years back. They use Italian "00" flour which is the best and do a long ferment to develop the flavor and make it more digestible....just like in Italy. The pizzas are baked in a hot wood fired oven so they get a nice bit of char. It is fantastic. The cheese is high quality. The toppings are done just right so there is good balance. The special Broccoli Alfredo was delicious. As was the special Sicilian Pepperoni with Giardiniera. People in our group raved about the Margherita and the Italian Stallion Pepperoni...and actually everything else. They have a great selection of 5-6 local craft beers and ales. They have wine and kombucha. Everyone who works there has great attitude and will take good care of you. All of this is outdoors in a beautiful garden nursery. For me, it doesn't get much better than this. I can't wait to go back. read more

We were trying to find a place to have dinner up here and hit up my trusty Yelp app. Found some places with lots of great reviews, but then saw this place that apparently just opened up, and we're so glad we gave the Garden Tap a shot. We ordered a Garden Veggie pizza to share as well as a half salad each, which worked out perfectly - we didn't leave hungry like another reviewer was complaining about. In terms of price, maybe it's because I'm using to Marin pricing, it wasn't overpriced. With everything we ended up spending about $35 for two people. The family in front of us spent $105 (I saw the total on the credit card machine)... kids are expensive! The pizza was absolutely perfect, from the crust to the toppings. I couldn't have done it any better myself (well, assuming I even knew how to cook a pizza - I can't even manage mac&cheese out of a box, but that's a discussion for another day). The salad was decent. Not like super amazing wow, but caeser salad isn't generally that interesting to begin with I guess. I didn't realize there was cheese at the bottom of the salad until halfway through - maybe put the cheese on top in the future? I had an IPA too, don't remember what it was called, but it was good. It seemed like the beers were local, which was nice. I do think for something with Tap in the name they could have had a bigger variety of beer, but if all the ones they have are as good as the one I tried, I won't worry about that. Bummer we are only staying nearby for one night or I'd try them all and let you know. The employees were all friendly and clearly enjoyed working here. Hopefully they get free pizza? Oh, and I couldn't review this place without talking about the setting. I never thought I'd go to a restaurant that's also a plant store (nursery?) but it really works. You're surrounded by plants and it's just a really nice atmosphere - obviously this wouldn't be so good if it was raining but it was an absolutely beautiful evening to eat outside. While they did earn a solid 5 stars from me, It's not perfect for two reasons - 1. it's hard to find. Despite Waze telling me IT'S RIGHT HERE I almost missed it. 2. The "music". I'm not sure who likes that music but neither me or my cousin enjoyed it. However, the music did us a solid because we moved from a table with the awful metal chairs to a wonderful wooden table a bit further away from the speaker and that wooden table was quite comfortable, so in a way I'm grateful for that. read more

Came here because it was next to our hotel. Went earlier in the day to nursery that shares the lot. The man at the nursery was VERY nice. Saw the pizza and thought "what the heck". Came back for dinner and was disappointed. Waited over an hour for a mediocre pizza! You order at a window and get a buzzer. Then when it's finally ready you go back to a counter to get your order. You must get your own plates, silverware and napkins. There is no excuse for an hour delay since patron provides mostly own service. They ask you also bus your own table afterward. It is an outdoor place and does have heaters. Staff seem pleasant enough, especially the woman who seated us. Still does not offset the slow, mediocre food. We will find someplace else for tomorrow. read more

The food.... It's high priced and not made well I've given them a few try's. Pizza guy is still learning so burnt and topping were not portion very well. They had a balsamic sauce and they just poured it all over sometimes more is not better. Everybody nowadays think they're making something extra special... it's not....this is a five dollar oven pizza the dude down the street used to make way better I guess because you're in a mosquito infested garden with a little stagnant scum pond in the center really sets the ambience, but to me it was kinda of gross. But hey, don't let me stop you from getting ripped off and bit by a bunch of mosquitoes. Go check it out yourself. read more

I absolutely love the setting of this restaurant! What a great way to utilize a beautiful out door space as an extension of an immaculately groom and organized nursery. It is honestly worth going to simply to eat in that setting. We went on a Monday afternoon around 6 ish. It was busy but it looked as if they were able to accommodate everything while being safely distance outside :) The staff were extremely kind and informative letting us know how the system works, what foods and proportions they would recommend and how setting/ordering process works. We ordered the kale salad and Prosciutto Pizza. The kale salad was just a simple salad, but the prosciutto pizza was amazing. It was a perfect balance of crust, to sauce, to cheese, to toppings. It was perfectly wood fired where the crust had the perfect crunch, the cheese was melted enough and the prosciutto was crisp. Two of us split one with no problem. They had a nice balance of drinks to select from as well various beer types, sours, wines, kombucha, and sodas. A little something for everyone. Really happy we stopped here and will again next time we're in town. read more

One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Every employee is happy to be there and treated me with a smile. Usually pizza places put way too much vegan cheese, but they know how to add the perfect amount. The veggie pizzas are delicious, they added corn kernels that elevated the flavor and the crust is to die for. Two nights in a row I've gone and I'm still craving more. I'll start by saying the venue is such a fantastic idea. Who doesn't want to spend a summer evening dining in a garden?! Pretty perfect if you ask me. Now for drinks/food. We each ordered a beer and the prosciutto arugula pizza. There was quite a long wait for the pizza, but not too long given that they were very busy. I really appreciate them having a sour beer on tap as I don't like the more traditional styles of beer. The pizza was pretty good. I personally don't like when the prosciutto is cooked on the pizza, rather I prefer when it's added after it's done baking. Still good nonetheless. Margherita pizza was very good, but not great. Dough not mixed thoroughly so some parts of your bite were great and others too salty. Too much sauce, for very thin crust, but that may be a preference. Not much cheese like this pizza should-usually a nice 2-3" slice instead of small dollops. The kicker was...I pick up the pie and the pizza baker was holding up the edge of my pizza with his hand to show some woman what the bottom looked like! He was not wearing gloves, nor any hair control and I believe he had a small beard/mustache. read more

This spot is awesome. The owner is super cool and the setting is great. The staff are friendly as well. I think I would recommend some sanitary protocol for the pizza oven guys. I have seen them drop the spatula things on the floor and just put them back without sanitizing them. Also they eat while working and touch trash bin to throw away waste for customers and touch doors and then go back to working on the pizzas. I think they need to teach them its an open area so people likely see this kinda thing and it concerns them. Just making sure they are properly cleaning and if something falls just clean it. Lastly, it is very expensive so be ready for that. Over all it is such a wonderful spot and they use quality OG ingredients. read more
