I dined at Huff's with a group of 10. The service was great but it became very clear that they were extremely understaffed that evening. There was 1 server but several others to deliver our food, which most came out quickly, and refill water glasses. Regarding the food- everyone that had the French dip said it was extremely tough and grizzly; the salads were wonderful but short on dressing and this where it became obvious that they were short staffed as three opted to just box up and take home dry. The crab sandwich was tasty but extremely sparse and the Parmesan crust was a there on part of one side. However with that said the Truffle Fries were incredible and perfect. I'd return just for the fries and cross my fingers that the rest of the meal might be better and that this was an off night... read more

This place is clearly overrated in all aspects but the view, that gets the two stars. Old structure with outdated interior throughout, starting at the second floor by the bar where all the tables, chairs and the bar itself seems like from late 80s, with service, although with the smiles, been extremely delayed with the food delivered and utensils missed to some of us. Bathrooms remained from the days of original structure with old tiles, faucets and urinal. Main floor dining room with the black tablecloth looked a little cozy however it was closed around 4 PM on the Friday night. Food quality is way out of it, where the menu selections are limited could use some improvements. Beef in the salad was extremely chewy, coconut shrimp missed the coconut and had and was drowned in flour. Crab in the sandwich was too salty and too much mayo. Was left behind untouched without thinking twice. Oh, and one more thing, since this place is out on the water, there is no beer on tap. Canned only. Wow what a find! Our server,Burton, was phenomenal! Talk about a positive walking advertisement for an establishment. We were sat at a both in the bar with an amazing view of the lake. We enjoyed the "all day happy hour" because a football game was on. We had the cheese curds which were so yummy! And my husband and I shared the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection! Prime were huge! We were stuffed but couldn't resist getting the lava cheesecake to go. It was very good (but my only gripe was that the portion was really small for the$12 price tag). It was like a half a muffin tin in size. :\ The place was clean and there was plenty of parking. The views were just so amazing! And again, Burton was the absolute best! Ate here a few nights ago for a birthday celebration and really enjoyed ourselves! All of the food was well cooked and delicious. We sat out on the patio with our large group and enjoyed the sunset and view of the lake. Service was quick and friendly. Anytime we needed something our waiter showed up almost instantly. The staff inside the bar were extremely friendly and helpful as well when we were trying to figure out where our party was. My only comment is that when you first walk in, there's no clear indication on which direction you're supposed to go (upstairs or to the left or the right). Felt a little awkward. Drove up to the lake with my wife after church and went to Huffs for lunch.Great options on menu --I ordered the French Dip and wife ordered the tacos--excellent choices. This restaurant is filthy. The staff are all under age for the most part, and their attention and maturity are lacking in some ways which make for a less than stellar dining experience. They are very polite but aren't able to make recommendations about food or wine because of their age. We arrived and were seated alongside a table with a trail of ants devouring a live fly. We asked for the server to wipe the insects down and he did so, but left much of the trail behind. For the listed menu prices, I expected the food to be better. The highlight of our meal were the crab cakes. The filet however was sadly underwhelming and the dishes were cold. The location was super close proximity to the cabins and the view was pretty but otherwise I would skip because of the inflated pricing and lackluster experience. Had a great late lunch/early dinner at Huff's Sunday. The view is fantastic. The service is great. The section of food offered is something for everyone with yummy salads. We made it for Happy Hour which was a great perk. They are working on the outdoor deck. It was super hot that day so it was fine to eat inside. Since the US Forest Service owns the lake and land the rules for renovation are strict. This is one of the only or few resorts/ restaurants at the lake and it is very needed! We will definitely return and bring family and friends. read more

Absolutely beyond disappointed today... We have been coming to Huff's for a little over a year now and it pains me to write an actual negative review... Today, like we have a few times in the past, we met with a larger group of retired friends and family, every arriving at different times, everyone sitting apart but at the same table... First the short version. Assistance - - - Balance + Cleanliness - Deliciousness + Environment + By this I would give it 3 stars but due to our incredibly rude and inattentive server I had to drop it more. Now the experience... Our first members arrived and asked to sit in the bottom room, it was open which was awesome! The server tried to sit them at a round table in the middle, near a table with loud kids, and another table packed with people, so our person asked for a different table, the server Jesus, said "no you can just sit here", our member asked politely again, can we please have this other table, there will be 6-10 people coming and we need the space. With a huff he sat her, and dropped the stack of menus on the table. 15 minutes later returned to get her drink order, by then another member or two had gotten there. One person asked for a run and coke, just in a tall glass over extra ice. and they began to order. Over the next half hour more of us began to show up, all sitting separated out and making our orders as separate groups, he wrote us up on separate tickets because we all arrived about ten to fifteen minutes apart. I ordered wings and said I need to look at the menu for an entree, he got someone else's order, took the menus and left. We sat there roughly half an hour, no refills, no one checked on us, nothing, a different person brought our food down, we asked the kid if we could make some orders or get some refills, he said "sorry I don't do that" we all laughed it off and asked if he could send the server back when he gets a chance. He was polite and said "sure thing". When our server came back, I asked for a menu and a refill, he grabbed me a refill and left. Next time he came by I asked for a quesadilla (one of my favorites from before) and a piece of cake to split with my partner, then we were just done so a check. He brought us a check that had everyone's orders on it, and wacky prices on it. One of our members said "oh my gosh I'm so sorry we are all separate parties, can we each get our own checks please?" He said "well you should have said that BEFORE ordering!". We all sat there staring at him. One of our guests said "separate the checks please". This man got so angry he audibly stomped away like he was throwing a tantrum. The same kid from before brought down our cake and quesadilla, I asked for boxes. We are the slice of cake, boxes our quesadilla as the checks were brought to us by a young lady. Upon reading our checks EVERYONE was angry. Our desserts were more expensive than the menu said and our drinks were upcharged. One guest was so angry she asked about her drink. The girl asked "wasn't it a double? He said it was a double" our guest said "no I just asked for it to be poured into a larger glass over ice". The girl ran upstairs and asked the bartender, she came back and apologized after having the receipt fixed, we never say Jesus again, but each of our 7 guests said we need to find a new place to meet up because this place sucks now. It's such a shame that this happened. We met here over the summer 8 times, the staff during summer was amazing, I don't know where this Jesus guy came from, if he was a busboy that doesn't normally serve people or what but he ruined a great thing. I might come back, because the food and area are truly amazing, but if I see that person when I walk in, I won't be staying. You just lost a party that sometimes came in with 12 people, all adults, all big tippers normally. Today everyone left tips worthy of the arrogant, rude, poor service we received. read more

OMG !!! Made reservations for mothers day brunch. When we arrived they said our table was not ready and put us up in the bar area. No big deal. The brunch was awful, they constantly ran out of food, $40 a plate and half their menu was empty and when asked if more would be coming out received attitude from staff. They even ran out of bloody mary mix at noon. NEVER going there again !!! read more

First off, nice atmosphere but, cob webs and flies in the windows above our booth. We sat sat down and we're greeted and given menus. No silverware. I had to ask for water. I was willing to wait for a couple of glasses at the bar but, the bartender said he'd take of it in a minute when he was done making a drink! Not customer service, in my opinion! My date and and I ordered, my salad was great but his sandwich was definitely lacking! A club sandwich with no lettuce and tomato that didn't even look like tomato! We recently ate at this establishment based on a recommendation from someone who visited years back. We unfortunately did not have a great experience. Scaffolding and cleaning supplies were seemingly thoughtlessly left directly outside the windows, obstructing the views we anticipated. Although the crab cakes were good, the alfredo was excessively heavy on garlic, and the mac and cheese went largely uneaten. The coconut shrimp was good, but it lacked the expected coconut flavor, and the cocktails were highly disappointing. The food was very greasy, leaving us with a lingering, unpleasant feeling that lasted for hours after eating. To add to this, the unwelcoming service made us feel brushed aside rather than valued guests, even with a reservation. I hate to post such an unflattering review but hope it will result in a better experience for future guests. We wanted to love it but will not be visiting again. read more

Had a great time here with our family. They have a pretty good happy hour, lots of drink and food specials! Great hospitality here and you can't beat the view. Such a nice place to visit. Now the food is just ok and it is pretty pricey for mediocre microwaved fare. $22 for a cheeseburger? And it was dry and just meh. Everything is just served warm, nothing hot and crispy. We hosted my mother-in-law's surprise 70th birthday dinner in the private room at Huff's at Bridge Bay, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish! First off, a huge shoutout to Ashley, the incredible Event Coordinator, who helped us pull off every detail flawlessly. Our server Jesus was attentive, warm, and on point all night. The chef deserves major applause--the food was absolutely EXCELLENT. The pesto chicken was tender and flavorful, the BBQ tri-tip was perfectly cooked and smoky, and the loaded mashed potatoes were a crowd favorite (I could eat a bowl of those every day!). Also, a special thank you to Dillon, the hostess with the mostess, who greeted everyone with such energy and kindness--she set the tone for the evening and without whom the surprise party would have been blown. The private event room was perfect for the occasion, gorgeous views of Shasta Lake, and the whole team made us feel welcome, cared for, and like we were celebrating at a five-star venue. Been eating here for the last 40 years under the two previous owners. This was our first time under the "Huffs" ownership. The food was good, no complaints. The server "B" was wonderful great lady, with great personality, and attentive to service. Only reason for not giving a 5 star is for "facilities". Mainly the main deck was closed due to maintenance. They were still able accommodate us outside in a very limited space, so I do appreciate that. Overall, its summer on the lake, and I would have thought the deck would have been rebuilt in the spring to be ready for the summer tourist that would appreciate eating outside. I'm not going to just pick on Huff's for facilities. Over all I feel the entire Bridge Bay Resort is 80's dated, and is extremely overdue for a complete inside and outside makeover upgrade. read more

Crowded, looked like maybe a long wait...Nope, maybe five minutes and we had a window seat...I'll bet it's a long wait for wait staff...nope, almost instant help, and after ordering, this must be where things slow down...nope, less than 15 minutes we had...French dip, Black-n-blue salad and a club sandwich on what looked like Texas toast bread! All were prepared perfectly and tasted great...Add in the excellent view and we will be going back very soon. read more

The view is amazing anywhere you seat you will get a beautiful view of Shasta lake, know that upstairs is the bar with plenty of tables and you can just seat yourself:) menu is the same The service is always awesome no complaints here. At 110 outside we need it something cold and fresh so the Asian salad was it! No disappointments here it was so so good I could eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner... it was missing a couple of things like the sprouts and mint which I imagine it would've been even better! The only thing was I wish it had more rice noodles, noodles were more of a garnish! Anyways even then the salad was bomba!!!! I have eaten at the various iterations of this restaurant through the years. Currently Huff's. I have found it to have been a nice place to dine on the lake. The Bloody Marys were a meal by its self and worth the trip. I took my brother there for breakfast and some Marys, as well to enjoy it all while dining on the deck over looking the lake. I thought that the 4th of July would most likely be busy, surprisingly it was not. First time there for breakfast we have always made it for lunch. I found the breakfast menu to be ho hum nothing special. The plates were reflected as ho hum, the Marys were lacking appropriate garnish and not as enjoyable as I had fondly remembered. Although there was outdoor seating available it was limited to full sun as the shaded area was not allowed because of the decrepit structure overhead, so we ate inside. Sadly this was my go to for lakeside dining, perhaps the only on the lake. Left a nice tip anyway. There is no reason to return. read more

This place has so much potential. It has amazing views. However the food and service was terrible. I recommend the Huff's fries, the fries stayed crispy despite being smothered in toppings and BBQ Sauce. The chimichurri wings were well cooked but had no flavor. They needed a side of chimichurri sauce. Do not order the pasta. Completely overcooked. Marsala had no marsala and Alfredo had no Parmesan. Service wasn't any better. Weren't greeted within 5 minutes of being seated, never checked if we needed anything, didn't come back to the table until the meal was over to offer us dessert. When we told her the Alfredo was inedible, she shrugged. Didn't offer a new dish, a free dessert, to remove it from the bill, or to get her manager. If you visit Huff's maybe try their Happy Hour because the appetizers were the only decent dishes we had. read more

I don't like they add a separate spot tip for the cook, you are paying for it to be good food, if you don't tip the cook do they make it bad food... We recently hosted our wedding here at Huff's on their outdoor Vista and we had a wonderful experience! The entire venue is beautiful, and the grass vista has so much room for both the ceremony and reception along with the prettiest views. They also have indoor options for weddings/events in the restaurant that are beautiful and have lake views as well. You just can't beat it, they include so much in their wedding package already, plus the restaurant does the catering which was delicious and extremely convenient, and there is a hotel on site which was perfect for all guests coming from out of town. Ashley and her husband were so amazing and made the wedding planning process as stress-free for us as possible. All in all we would highly recommended this venue to host any event, small or large. We would also recommend the restaurant alone as they have amazing food and beautiful lake views! read more

I waited too long to check this place out. The food is absolutely delightful! We tried a number of different dishes, but they were all good. The cocktails also impressed me! The service probably isn't their strong suit, but we were still well-taken care of. The ambiance could also be modernized a bit, but it's hard to beat that lake view. Huff's is a far cry from the former restaurant it replaced. The food is just average bar food, served with an overabundance of rubbery fries. There was a noisy 90th birthday celebration going on in the room right next to us, which made our conversation difficult. They seemed to be short staffed that evening, as we could see our waiter attending to the party people frequently, as well as the tables. It took some time just to place our order, and a long 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The waiter was friendly though, apologizing for the long wait. The best part was sitting by a window, enjoying the beautiful full lake views. read more

We went there for our 55 wedding anniversary. looked them up first to check the menu. so we made a reservation. We had the prime rib which the online menu said 14oz. with mashed potato and asparagus. Nope baked and we got it loaded. Then found out the price for the dinner went from $29. clear to $39.99 each meal . Plus the waiter said the size was from 12-18 oz. Mine wasn't it was smaller and his was probably in the 12oz range.The baked potato was $6. extra too. Which should be included. And the loaded part extra. The meat was way undercooked and tasteless. It looked like it sat in a pot of hot water. The asparagus was changed to mixed vegetables. The carrots, peppers were ok but the Brussels sprouts were not cooked at all except maybe the two outside leaves. When we questioned why the pricing or even the prime rib wasn't on the restaurant's paper menu we were told because it's only on Friday and Saturday. Correct but it was on the menu on line why not the printed? No salad or soup or dinner roll either. After asking these questions all the waiter could say was ....
