We came for the music but stayed for the food after discovering that the music didn't even begin until after 10:30pm. Nonetheless, we had a great time and really enjoyed the inventive tapas menu. Favorites included the Japanese BBQ Ribs and Cheeseburger Bao Bun, but really everything was excellent. It ended up being one of our favorites on the island.

this was a new spot for myself and my husband when we were on Nantucket back in December. Because of covid times it wasn't as POPPIN as I can imagine it would be normally... I will say though that of all the places we ate, this was the most crowded/least spaced out. Nevertheless, we had a good time and enjoyed some good food and drink... My cocktails were pretty strong which I liked... or I may have just been tipsy from our afternoon at Cisco. whoops. Tried the Thugs Passion- sparkling cocktails are right up my alley. We tried several appetizers and I don't remember all of them but I will say I piled shishito peppers in my mouth like I'd never eaten before. The hamachi sashimi was excellent and the various yakitoris were also delish! For my entree I had the udon carbonara which was just..... divine. It was super decadent but a really great meal for a cold winter night so it hit the spot. The only thing I don't love about this place is the menu is a little bit on the small side (may be a covid thing) so the only choices for entrees are between one of the small plates, noodles, and rice. If you don't want carbs your options are limited, especially since the yakitori is a little pricey for what you get.

Outstanding menu! Perfect blend of delicious classics and artfully crafted Asian staples. The menu has variety; we had a burger and tuna nachos in the same meal. We also thoroughly enjoyed the spicy cucumbers and the chicken meatball yakatori. We saw the duck breast yakatori come out to the table next to us and it looked fantastic. There were other yakatori options on the menu that we wanted but were sold out at the time. It is somewhat dimly lit, great ambiance, but not great for photos. Trust this and other raving reviews that Gaslight is a solid option for any time of day on island.

I came for dinner here and it was excellent. Our server was fantastic, we sat on the patio and really enjoyed everything we got. I brought my service dog with me and he just calmly lays at my feet when I sit anywhere. I decided to go back tonight for Karaoke night and thought I needed some night life in me. When I got to the front door, I said I have service dog and the gentlemen said he had to ask. I thought that was weird but hey go ahead, please ask. I love an opportunity for someone to learn something. The manager came over and said he really couldn't seat me anywhere because of my service dog. His reasoning was that it gets really packed in there there's not a good place to put us. I explained to him that's fine, but my service dog should be able to go anywhere that I go. He's a 40 lb Aussie that is very used to be in busy environments with me. He's come to concerts, busy restaurants, bars etc. He basically said "sorry, I can't do anything about it" I really didn't feel like making a scene or educating him at the time so decided to walk away and go home. It ruined our night and we'll never go back. Really sad that this type of discrimination is at the restaurant through management. There are plenty of other awesome restaurants in Nantucket with similar vibes. Our best meal was at Nautilus and had a similar menu with small plates/tapas that are worth trying. Save yourself the tapas meal for that restaurant, it will knock your socks off.

We have never been so rushed in a restaurant and the food was just ok. It was way too expensive. The value was not good at all.

Horrible service. Rude and slow. Bouncer and bartenders are creepy towards women. Would not recommend to a friend visiting Nantucket.

We showed up at 8:20 and waited until 10:40. They misled the entire line to believe they were going to let in people but never did

We went there for my boyfriend's birthday & I requested a birthday dessert as a surprise for him for after dinner. Staff said they had mini macaroons, but later came back with a mini sushi cake with candles on top! We were able to share it across the table & it was delicious. They made his birthday so memorable for this moment alone. As for the food, the rice-to-sushi ratio was perfect. The fish melted like butter & they were all so fresh. I visited Mori Sushi last week, and was shocked I had not heard of them sooner. We ordered several rolls: the Volcano Roll, the Mori Roll, the Crunch Roll, the Dynamite Roll, the Hawaii Roll, and the Godzilla roll. I loved each and every roll, but the stand out's were the Godzilla roll and the Volcano roll. Both very unique and must-gets. All of the fish we had was so fresh and I was super impressed. The prices are on the higher side, but reasonable for what you are getting. The actual restaurant is in a small plaza next to a grocery store. The inside is nice, nothing super special, but it doesnt need to be with sushi like that! I will be visiting again, soon!

For drinks I got a refresher ~ refresher wasn't too outstanding but it helped with my spicy ramen~ my ramen so was savory and flavorful~ tasty, wasn't fatty or too oily. It had just good flavors that weren't too heavy but definitely filling and satisfying. My partners ramen was also very flavorful and tasty without the typical fatty, oily, tastes I usually get. We asked the server for the check since we need to leave soon after to make it on time for an event, and she gave us the check, and some to-go containers in case we needed it, which was very considerate! The appetizer were solid, good, but you MUST try the ramen. Spicy ramen was worth it if you need a good hangover soup or super chilly, or just want to sweat~ the egg and corn pieces were such soothing ingredients ~ Will be back for sure, even if the drive and parking is a hassle. Street parking is the way to go, and be ready for a walk~

First off, the food came out fast (a win when you're starving), and the service was genuinely excellent. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing small talk. The place is cute and has plenty of seating. They also do take out! I ordered the Hawaiian poke bowl and WOW. The portion was huge (like "why did I think I could finish this?" huge), the price was super affordable, and the spice + flavor combo hit every craving I didn't even know I had. Balanced, bold, and just the right amount of heat. We also tried two rolls, plus the calamari and edamame, and everything across the board was solid. Fresh, well-made, and clearly cared for. To drink, I had the popping boba passionfruit tea and it was full of flavor without being overly sweet. Refreshing and fun, not syrupy. Overall: great food, generous portions, fair prices, and excellent service. I'll definitely be back and probably ordering the poke bowl again because... why mess with perfection?

The formula is actually pretty simple: the food is excellent... the service is memorably bad. In fact, it's become a running family joke every summer. We always wonder, "How bad will the customer service be this time?" It's almost part of the experience. It starts before you even walk in. If you call to place an order, they answer the phone like they're genuinely annoyed that it rang. Then they tell you your order will be ready in, say, 20 minutes. My advice? Add another 15 minutes to whatever they tell you. It's almost automatic. When I say the service is bad, I don't mean the employees are overwhelmed or having an off day. They often talk to customers as if you're inconveniencing them simply by ordering. It's consistently curt and surprisingly rude. Then comes the twist... You slide your credit card into the machine. It asks if you'd like to leave a tip. You make your selection. Then--like someone flipped a switch--they smile, hand you your food, genuinely thank you, and wish you a nice day. And somehow... it works. Five minutes ago you were annoyed. Now you have your food, you're relieved the ordeal is over, and you're walking out smelling the pizza! It's like a customer-service Jedi mind trick. They don't convince you the service was good--they just make you so happy to finally have your food that you momentarily forget how you were treated. I've watched this happen to me--and to plenty of other customers--for years. And yet... I keep going back. Because the food really is that good.
