Had the Gator Basket and Gator Tacos. Both meals were solid. Tacos were great and well-seasoned. Fries were surprisingly very good- well seasoned as well. Grilled gator for the basket was good. Value for the money is where I'm not sure I can recommend it. As a tourist I'm not great but can manage $18 for a couple tacos but if I was local this would never be on my list of where to go. Wanted to support someone local while getting a small bite for lunch. Found that Gator Grill was just a few minutes from my house in Weston. Knowing it's at Sawgrass Rec Park with all of the airboat hauling tourists on joyride through the swamp, I expected things to be priced a bit higher then a basic lunch. Just wanted something new. Had the Mahi sandwich which was exceptionally fresh. I was disappointed with the amount of gator in an order, but it was flavorful. The BBQ tots were a very big let down. Something about them just threw me off. The birds are the biggest problem. They are very bold and some will attempt to land next to you to steal your food. Kind of unsanitary with them all over the tables. Overall was a nice little lunch. read more

Went off the beaten path just to eat at this food truck. Upon arrival we enjoyed the peacocks at the airboat place. Found the food truck just to be told it was open for private group only. This is way beyond being a hidden gem. You have to go to Sawgrass Recreation and go past the main building and down the hill to the right. At the bottom you'll see the picnic area with two food trucks. I can't comment on the coffee and pastry truck because it was closed. The other truck is the Gator Grill. What a treasure! Try the Mahi fish tacos. Each is made with a grilled fillet, slaw and special sauce. I don't know what's in the sauce but they also had bottled hot sauce that was awesome! Unless you don't like hot sauce, in which case it was still awesome but you missed out. Very friendly staff in a fun atmosphere made this a really enjoyable experience. read more

Didn't had the best experience. The cashier/owner provides the worst customer service. Sarcastic comments and un patient. When trying to pay, the system showed to remove card, I did so, but it was suppose to be left a couple more second so it could be processed. The guy got upset with me because I removed it twice. The Mahi fish tacos are VERY good and super fresh tasting. The gator bites are tempting to order because it's something different, but honestly they tasted like dry pork so I'd stay away from them. I've heard that the burgers are hand-made and very good but we didn't try those. If you're short on time, you may need to skip this place because it took 40 minutes for us to place our order and then get our food. (The line was about 10 people long when we got into it). I realize that food trucks usually don't have many people cooking, but we needed something fast after our tour and this was anything but fast! This place was so delicious!! Although we may have been extra hungry due to our drive across the Everglades. It also has a beautiful view.

I was a bit apprehensive about having alligator meat from a food truck, but damn... it was finger licking good! I've tried gator meat before, in Louisiana, and didn't really enjoy it, whereas here it was a night and day experience. Funnily enough, the meat comes from Louisiana too, and is farmed, so no wild alligators were harmed in the process :) read more

He has to get Gator Bites every time he goes to Florida, and this trip was no different. So I looked a few places up and we stumbled upon this Gem.. Came here after our Everglade boat ride. It's the only food place around, so you kind of don't have a choice. But I'm still glad I ate here nonetheless. Gator Tacos: I absolutely loved these! They were fresh, juicy, tender, and the sauce was amazing. The tortilla was soft, the cole slaw complimented the gators perfectly. These are an absolute must try! Chili Cheese Fries: I'm usually a huge chili cheese fries fan, but these didn't hit the spot for me. The fries not as crispy as I would have liked. And the chili just didn't have that spice or flavor factor that amazed me. Vacationing is all about the food. I found this nifty little truck and so glad I did. My friend and I had never tried gator surprisingly it's great. We also were super excited about corn nuggets loved these when we lived in Texas. The pull pork tacos and sand which was great make sure to leave it with the sawgrass sauce and coleslaw on it. The truck is permanently parked at Sawgrass Recreation Park where they also offer guided Everglades airboat tours. Their cheeseburgers are better than most specialty restaurants and they even have gator bites! Their gator bites are lightly seasoned and grilled as opposed to the average deep fried.
