Because it is located in the lobby of the apartment building, it is not something you see from the street. The bar itself is very small, but there are multiple seating options outside of the actual bar. You are permitted to take your drink to the lobby or to the outside patio area. Both are nice and allow for a pleasant drinking experience, but folks that live in the building sit there as well, on laptops or reading. The vibe of the bar is super chill, with this crazy red hue that I love. I am not a big cocktail person per se, but if you are into them like The Queen is, then you are in for a treat. There are also non-alcoholic selections for wines, beers and cocktails for those that require that. In addition they also have bubbles, so that is a win for me. In addition to great cocktails and bubbles, they also do "Summer Movie Nights" on the patio. You can bring a blanket, grab a drink and enjoy. Larry's does not serve food, but you can order something to eat from The Uptown Deli (which has good sandwiches). There is street parking on Sheridan and it is about two blocks from the Lawrence Street El stop (once it opens again). Now that I am aware of its existence, I will be back to chill and have bubbles, and maybe catch a movie.

Well, it was worth the wait. The comfortable interior is retro cool, and they also have an affinity for rabbits displayed on menus and throughout the spaces. We had a very enjoyable visit here, thanks to the good drinks, pleasant staff, and great company. We recently stopped in for a midweek happy hour, when you can get one of three listed cocktails for only $8 each. My Casual Affair sorta reminded me of an Old Fashioned, while my lovely wife enjoyed the Often Confused cocktail. Belmont Tavern is very close to the CTA Belmont Blue Line station, on Belmont just west of Kimball. We vow to return in the near future.

It's mostly the same friendly…read moredive bar you might remember, but now it is perhaps a bit fancier inside, and they host an open mic on Wednesday evenings, along with other events on other days, from time to time. Hungry? They have no kitchen, but a QR code lets you order in from R Public House, or you can fire up Uber Eats and the world is your oyster. The patio is huge and a wonderful place to sit on a warm summer day. The tavern is part of a set of wonderful businesses along this block of Jarvis, including Charmers (coffee), Horseplay (gifts), Taste (wine, liquor and more), R Public House (bar/restaurant) and Jarvis Square Books (bookstore). The business owners here are trying hard to build up a good sense of community and I think they succeed. It's easy to get here on transit, just steps from the Jarvis red line stop, and it's been my favorite neighborhood bar for almost five years now. Thanks to Tony, A.
