This bar is supposed to be a classic hole in the wall, great neighborhood location, and easy gathering spot for a couple drinks with friends. There is truly so much potential and we were excited to stop in for a drink the other night. Our night quickly shifted when we reached the bar and started ordering drinks. The bartender was blunt, which was fine whatever maybe having a bad night. Unfortunately, turns out she's just a mean person. We felt so unwelcome after ordering one drink. She called us high maintenance for our orders (vodka water lime, beer). Threatened our friend "if she has a problem she can leave" because my friend made a weird face when she said "you only get one straw". After we left we took a look at reviews and seems this establishment has had these same 2 women running their bar for 11 years in the same manner. Two of our reviews were taken down so I guess they like to screen which bad reviews can remain up. Hoping this reaches you before you step into the bar and save you from getting bullied for ordering a drink.... In a bar.... From a bartender.... Ps don't ask for a lime they don't have fruit and they'll be pissed you asked a silly question like that! I never leave reviews because I typically consider bad service to be a fluke but I had to edit this post to share the passive aggressive response I received from posting this review. They're just further proving my point that they're mean people. Such a shame.

We had a good time playing pool and there was a male bartender making our first drinks that was very friendly and conversational. The female bartender made our second round of drinks and was more standoffish as if we didn't fit the "dive bar scene" since we were dressed up a bit. We enjoyed a couple rounds of pool and watching the World Cup game then we left before karaoke was about to start. Bar itself has plenty of seating and nice lighting for the bottles. After learning the story about the owner and the bar, I'm very happy this place is still open but I don't think we'll be back.

It was very loud when we visited, not because of the karaoke, so it was a bit difficult to speak with the bartenders. I guess people were having a good time! There are lots of drink choices at reasonable prices. There is also food, which I didn't try. For the karaoke, you go up to the KJ get into the queue, and then add your songs across the evening for each of your turns. There was quite a variety being sung. You sing in front of the fireplace. There is a little bit of room to dance around the edges but not much. Despite being a "nonsmoking" bar, there were patrons vaping indoors and there was a cigarette smell inside (perhaps wafting in from the smokers outside?). The ladies bathroom was very clean. There is free parking outside in their attached lot, but you might have to get creative if you get there later in the night, as the lot gets crowded. This bar has a fun vibe for your friend group to go blow off some steam, but probably not a good place to take a first date.

When the arrived at 5pm, the place was already getting busy and by 5:15, every inside table was packed. Mondays are something here, with $2 domestic bottled beers and $10 for ten wings. The kitchen was struggling to keep up! When the wings arrived, they were hot and delicious. FBAG is big on "trashed wings" which apparently means that they are fried, sauced, fried AGAIN and sauced again. It makes for a different flavor and they were terrific. The wings were meaty and quite enjoyable, not smothered in sauce. A really neat hangout and I very much enjoyed the time. Well worth a return visit! I get them trashed and tossed in lemon pepper + buffalo which are indescribably delicious together. The wings check every box: great size, perfectly cooked and crispy, excellent sauce and seasoning, and most impressively, consistent quality every single time I've ordered them. That kind of consistency, especially in a place that is always busy, says a lot. On top of that, the service has always been great, the bar and beer selection is solid, the food is very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere delivers exactly what you want from a neighborhood pub. The only real downside is the limited indoor space, but when the weather is nice, the patio nearly doubles the seating. So it is really only an issue on those nights when the weather is bad and everyone in the neighborhood has the same idea you do: wings and cold beer.

It has to be one of the last few in the area, sort of like me having a Blackberry in 2012. I saw they were open late, had pool tables, and were equidistant for my bestie and me to meet up. So I am doing y'all a solid and letting you non-smokers like myself know that this IS a smoking bar.So, back to my experience. Brad was my bartender. He introduced himself and probably saw me dying inside, but I stayed since my bestie was on her way, and it was her birthday, and I wanted her opinion on next steps should she want to leave. He bought her first drink, which was really sweet! I didn't take any pics of anything because we immediately went outside to imbibe on their patio in 50-degree weather. I met some amazing people that night: Derek, Steve, and Jack, who were all regulars and had known each other since they were kids. That sort of friendship is rare and to be cherished, as my bestie and I have known each other since we were 11. I met another lady at the end of the night who worked there too. The vibes alone were dope. Too bad it's a smoking bar, or else I'd be a regular!
