First off, I want to say that I am extremely shocked with a lot of the reviews for the Glam Team. Thankfully I didnt read the Yelp reviews before I picked them for my wedding hair and makeup. I found them on theknot.com. Before selecting them, I looked at TONS and TONS of makeup and hair artists' portfolios. I messaged and spoke with TONS and TONS of makeup and hair artists as well. For me, hair and makeup is one of the most important parts of the wedding day. But, after I saw the glam team's portfolio and spoke with them, I knew I wanted to work with them. The Glam Team is AMAZING! I used them for my wedding makeup and hair and for my bridal party's makeup and hair. They did my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures as well. Their work is so incredible. They are artists. You will not regret working with these ladies, they are amazing. They listened to what I said and made me look and feel so beautiful. Picking them was an easy choice for me and I so happy that I did. As for the pricing, they were very consistent with pricing and explained everything to me. Was the godmother to my brothers wedding and My sister in law had booked Dina for hair and patty for makeup. Dinas talents were simply amazing! I felt so beautiful looked so elegant and i literally got compliments all night about my hair! Patty was also booked for makeup and although i didn't get patty to do my makeup another girl Alessandra did my makeup and I loved it! My fave is very oily and I have to say that she worked with my skin type so well and made me look stunning and my make up lasted the whole night without looking like you can fry an egg on my face. I've known Dina now for 7 years. She was introduced to me by my cousin-in-law. My very damaged hair was repaired after allowing Dina to take care of it and continuously letting it grow out. I've always felt more of a connection, deeper than just someone who makes me feel alive again...but as a friend. I have loved everything that she has done to my hair. It's really hard to find a good hair salon to trust with your hair and let me start by saying that I waited a few months and did research to find the one! I've had horror stories from going to salons that only cared about taking my money and not the client and their needs. It is a journey to get hair back to a healthy state and I didn't want to jeopardized that. I booked my appointment with Dina herself and after 4-5 hrs I had the hair I wanted for years now! I went to the Glam Team for a Capilar Surgery because my hair was super dry and was screaming for HELP! The person who assisted me was Lulu and let me tell you....she has been one of the best hair stylists that I have seen. She was just the best! Lulu made me feel comfortable since the first minute I stepped in the hair salon and explained in details what the process was going to be. I am not going to lie, this service was a little expensive but it is TOTALLY worth it. Its only been 24 hours and my hair just looks fabulous! Okay so I usually don't write reviews, but I just simply can't get this out of my mind (that's how bad my experience there was). It was back in May, I came here to get some highlights for my prom. So at first we come in, I was surprised at how small the place was, but it's really not about that. I met my hair stylist who was Hugo, and I sat down and I was waiting for him to approach me so we can discuss my plans for my hair. As I was sitting there, I looked around and I have noticed a lot of dirt, like the brushes had hair in it, stains and uh. I already wanted to leave. But I was like okay whatever. So Hugo approaches me, and be tried speaking Spanish to me, but I was not understanding , in fact I am not Spanish at all. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and kind of tried to explain it in words as well, but I don't think he understood me, therefore he called Dina, the owner of the salon, who helped me to translate him what I was saying. So I asked, "light ash brown hair with slight highlights, not too blonde, and I don't want the brown to be orangy, I want it ashy". Just to let you know, originally my hair was very dark, and I had some highlights left from my last salon visit. So Dina counted everything, and my total was $310 for the base color, partial balayage and styling. I was surprised, that's pretty expensive and definitely not the price I saw on the website. I wasn't sure about what was the difference between the highlights (what I asked for) and the partial balayage, and Dina explained it to me, she said it won't be too blonde. Whatever, I thought as long as they do it good, I don't mind paying. So Hugo started doing my light brown base color for the balayage. It all was fine. Until he started putting bleach into my hair. It took him an hour or more to put the bleach into my hair, and that for me worried, "why would he need so much bleach for simple highlights?". While he was putting bleach into my hair, he got another client, so he basically left me with all this bleach in my hair for like an hour (that's not okay), as he was trying to multitask. At that point I was kind of panicking. Finally it was time to wash it off. When he was washing my hair, he was pulling it soooo hard, and he was so not gentle with it, it was literally hurting! He was like rubbing my scalp, it felt like hell. I felt like I lost half of my hair after that. By that time, the manager Dina has already left and no was in the salon, only me, Hugo and my mom. After he washed it, I noticed so much blonde in my hair but I thought "maybe it will look better when he blow dries it". As he was blow drying it, again, he was pulling my hair so harshly, and the blow drier was so hot it was burning my ears! Whatever, I was still trying to tolerate it. And he finished blow drying. My mom was shocked. I was shocked. I was 85% blonde! I never ever was so mad about the service, and when I tried to tell him how terrible it was and that it was not what I asked for, he was trying to convince me that it looked good. I made him call Dina, the owner, and I talked to her on the phone (btw I was crying, yeah I know I've never been so emotional), and I explained the situation and she said "oh that's okay he just used the wrong toner, it can be fixed in less than 15 minutes". NO, that was NOT okay! I asked her if the price stays same, because I am not trying to pay for this horror, and she said yes because it's fixable. Anyways, he washed my hair again, uses a different toner, and then my hair was simply all dark. Same color I came with. I was literally about to walk out, until this other girl came, a girl who spoke English and understood what I was asking for. She used the right toner, and when she was washing my hair it felt so much nicer! It was way more gentle. And then her and Hugo blow dried my hair together. That color was way better. That was more of what I asked for. I still had to pay the full $310 for this service. Plus, I didn't not get the balayage, I got the HIGHLIGHTS, which would be a different price. Also didn't leave any tips, sorry Hugo, but I just couldn't handle it. Recap: I was there for over 6 hours. Waste of my day off. Resulted it dead hair after having bleach ther for an hour. Oh, and he was forcing me to take a picture when I didn't want to. And he posted them on his Instagram page without my consent. Not trying to be annoying, but like I didn't like those pictures, you could see my ugly crying face on one of them. I would appreciate if they all could be deleted. Waste of $310. Never again. This is by far the worst salon experience I've ever had. If I could give this place a zero I would. I came in for a trim and balayage. The wait wasn't too bad as I rarely ever expect scheduled appointments to be on time. As the hairstylist calls me over to start the coloring process, she hands me a box of aluminum foil and says "you're going to help me out. Put one aluminum foil on this clip board and fold a piece over at the top." ---no she didn't ask me if I minded at all. She pretty much told me that I had to do it. in all the years of getting my hair done in salons, I have never had to assist in any of the services I request and pay for!!! Did I mention that halfway through the process she says "can u fold more of the aluminum on the top so it doesn't slip?" As if she is now my boss and I'm doing my job incorrectly. I give them the benefit of the doubt as it seems they are short staffed. One hairstylist and one makeup artist on a Friday night. I figured --well if this will help give me the hair that I want then I guess i will assist. When all the foils were in she moves me to the seat with the hair dryer. She assists 4 other clients before removing all the foils from my hair and washing it. At this point, I've already been in the salon for 3-4 hours. The trim hasn't been done nor was it acknowledged. At this time I figured I'll just pass on the cut as it was already past the closing time and the last thing I need is a rushed trim. She asked if I wanted a blow out and because I was also pressed for time I said no. I was ready to leave. She then suggests that she blow dries just the front so I can see the color and I agreed. As she is drying the front piece, I start to see thin strings flying everywhere. At first I thought it was pieces from the hairbrush that had gotten stuck from previous use. Until I looked in the mirror, ran my fingers through my hair and found pieces of my hair was falling out. She had completely burned my hair with the product that I assumed she left in for too long. When I bring this to her attention, she insists my hair isn't falling out as if I'm unable to see it with my own two eyes and feel it with my own hands. She felt the need to remind me that she does hair for a living and that this is normal. She insisted it was MY hair or that it was just the ends that were brittle and dead. In all the years that I have colored and treated my hair, I have never had such a horrendous experience. I can only hope that this will never happen to anyone else. And I can assure u I will never come back here nor will I ever recommend this place!! Here is what I have to say regarding your reply: Naturally, it's in your best interest to defend your business. You're right, you WERE NOT there. So when I say, Lulu, was inattentive. That was my experience. When I say she invalidated me, and was patronizing as my hair continued to fall out with each touch and blow dry, that was my experience. And when I go out of my way, to write of how disappointed I was in the care I received, with NO BENEFIT TO MYSELF BECAUSE I REFUSE TO RETURN THERE FOR EVEN A COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE that speaks volumes as to my intention. You're right, every business drops the ball on occasion, and the way it was handled by your staff's condescending attitude and indifference was what inspired me to write this. I had Dina as my hairdresser for my wedding and loved what she did with my hair the day of (was a simple style) and most of my bridesmaid updos. I would say that I was not pleased with the process of booking her for the day of and her contract is not very clear. I felt as her communication could have been a little more professional as well. Dina was half hour late to the scheduled time we agreed on for the wedding. Thankfully, I had a lot of time and was on schedule for the rest of the morning of my wedding. Another thing is some of her equipment that she brought to do our hair was not clean. My biggest disappointment was the fact that she is not very good with children. My niece who was my flower girl was struggling to have her hair done and I felt as though she could have handled the situation a little better. A friend had her balayage down by Dina and it looked fabulous - I decided I wanted to go blonde as I often go the extreme from dark to light. I hadn't been getting the results I wanted for some time now and decided I would take the trip from Brooklyn to NJ. When I arrived I was greeted with a very pleasant team. They asked me to change into a smock protect my clothing once I was in the chair Dina examines the current state of my hair ( I admit it has damage) she quickly advised me against doing what I wanted (highlights) she thoroughly explained what damage i currently had and what would happen if she attempted to achieve what I wanted. I was so grateful she didn't take my money and further damage my hair. She gave me a great cut to fix my current style asymmetric bob and told me how to care for my hair as it grow out the damage. I never write bad reviews but I did not think this should go unsaid. I recently reached out to the Glam Team in regards to pricing for makeup and Adrienne stated in the message she was quoting me was based on the 40 minutes travel time it would take to get to my location. She sent me the pricing and I agreed to come in for the trial. I went in for the makeup trial and Adrienne did a good job. When I sat down with her to go over the contract, Adrienne brought Dina into the room and she advised me she was going to have to increase the pricing for bridal makeup services just because when she google map the location, it was 46 minutes away INSTEAD of 40. Pricing for the bridal makeup went up from $100 to $130 and bridesmaid makeup from $90 to $95. I was applaud and could not believe Dina was going to change the pricing for the makeup over a 6 MINUTE DIFFERENCE and only decided to tell me this AFTER the trial was done. When I told her I was really confused to why they would change the pricing last minute especially AFTER I had my makeup trial done, Dina stated, "you do not have to book with us and 6 minutes really does make a difference." I purposely did not contact Dina in regards to hair services and wanted to see how makeup would go because of all the terrible reviews on their bridal services but this experience solidified everything what was being said on social media. This experience showed the lack of principle, morality, and professionalism the business has for its customer. I can guarantee a business that DECEIVE their customers just to find any way to get people in the door will suffer. There is only so much talent can do, if your customer services are lacking. 6/28/17 Update: Dina, I have only came to you once 2 years ago. I have never discredited your talent, only the service. This place is a ripped off!!! Go somewhere else where you can get your money's worth.I paid $345 for my hair back in May of this year, and I was told the next root touch up is $50. I made an appointment and now they are saying it's $55 plus 45 to $65 for a cut and blowdry. For a mediocre work shouldn't charge so much. The only reason I'm trying to go back is because of promised root touch up for $50. The website price is misleading too so if one of their team say check their website for pricing, for highlight $180+ but my total due is $345. Like I said they only do an OK job and nothing other salons cannot do. The stuff they use is the same stuff other salons are using too and not charging $345 for it!!! To add insult to injury the Glam Team called my sister, the bride yesterday, and informed her that the Glam Team will only refund part of the money (if I needed it that bad) once I remove my reviews off of Google and Yelp. I do not know Dina or her partner personally, I am reviewing this business as a NEW patron. Every statement and review I have made has been based off of the facts of the events that occurred on the day of my sister's wedding. There have been numerous times, where Dina, and other reviews have stated that my family and I were rude and complicated during the day of the trial. That begs the question, if my family and I were so extremely rude and inconsiderate during the day of the trial, then why go into a contract with a family for a wedding, the most important day of my sister's life, if we are such a horrid family? I'm completely baffled at the continued unprofessional behavior of this team. To attack me as a person, because of their poor service the day of the wedding, by being over an hour late, and not apologizing ONCE and the days since, by refusing to return money that is owed to us. Additionally, Dina told my sister my review was too sentimental because of the mention of my father's cemetery. The reason why we spoke to the Glam Team about the time the entire bridal party needed to be out of the house, was because it was extremely important for my sister to visit the resting place of our father prior to the ceremony. Maybe you can understand our frustration now? We are NOT picking a fight, we just want our money back and to be done with this situation. Used their services for a wedding. The quality of hair and make-up was very disappointing. They overcharged for the quality of the work. We had to have our hair straighten prior and all they did was put it in a bun and literally threw on some make-up. They were late, arrogant, and unprofessional. They demanded music, and then complained about the music selection. Lets take a minute here to reflect...were we suppose to entertain or were we paying for a service. Upon arriving they wanted to decided who would be seen first and wanted to argue with the bridesmaids. The list can go on and on. I contact Dina and was pleased at first, she did have a dry unapproachable attitude but that to me she meant business. I set everything up with her and paid the deposit. As a first-time bride, I asked a bunch of questions and one of them was about money and wanted to see if the price could be negotiated. She was turned off by the fact of me asking and quickly and firmly said no. I was ok with that and moved along and still contracted her for my big day. When I arrived at my hair trial with Dina, she looked unhappy, upset and didn't really make conversation with me and at the end of it all didn't even try to do a hair trial as it should be, like it was the day of. It was horrible and her when asking me questions she assumed that I knew what I was talking about, which I told her I had never had my hair done before, as a curly hair woman, I usually keep it curly at all times. I left feeling a little odd but we talked and said what we would adjust after a few of my family and friend seeing her finished worked they didn't like it and so I contacted her to do some adjustments. She seemed upset and wanted to push me off to another person which to me meant she didn't want to deal with what she called a "particular" bride. The same thing happened when I came in for my makeup trial. Anything I said afterward to suggest to fix or adjust ended up with them calling me and canceling 54 days before my wedding when I set everything up with them in February. I am extremely upset about this, as now I have to find someone else. They gave me my money back but the service was horrible and if you are a bride who expects a lot and expresses their feelings and wants adjustments, these are not the people to work with. Like they said, they have a particular way of working and that is their way or the high way. I was nice to them and only asked questions to clarify and make sure I knew what was expected. OK so I have been to many different places and no matter where i went nobody could seem to do what I wanted they never listened to me everyone assumed they knew what I wanted but were never correct And so I was never really happy with my hair.That is until I discovered the glam team Not only did Dinah listen to me she exceeded my expectations and I left happier than I have ever left a salon before they even take before and after pictures so you can truly see your hair transformation happen before your eyes. Dinah herself she is such a good person and so knowledgeable and talented in her craft and has such a sweet soul and that alone would make you want to sit with her. I found this salon on Instagram and every picture they posted made me want to go there even more I live in New York so I had my sister drive me two hours out of the way to New Jersey to get my hair done by Dina and boy was I so thankful I made this decision if you're looking for amazing hair and amazing people the glam team is the place to go from the charming decor to the professional products to the sweet and helpful assistants I honestly couldn't find a flaw with this place I can promise you it is worth every penny thank you from a very happy girl who will be returning! read more

I don't like writing reviews but under the circumstance that my hairdresser left me I must write about it so you guys are aware of who not to go to when coloring your hair When I went to the glam team I originally already had blonde hair and long hair I wanted a short cut and wanted to dye my roots since I have dark roots and I wanted it with Dina but unfortunately she was booked and I needed it as soon as possible I only been to one hair salon who knows how to give me the right blonde but they are too expensive and I simply couldn't put $400 into my hair at the moment so I went to the glam team and Hugo attended me which I regret with a passion and never going back there I really don't like to talk about how bad his work was but it was horrible the day after when I noticed it and I showed him a picture of the cut I wanted and he ended up giving me a different cut that I did not ask for and as he was cutting I noticed but it was too late to say anything and also the whole time he was coloring my "roots" he ended up coloring my WHOLE hair which I had specifically only asked for my roots leaving me with having to pay more than I wanted to pay which I won't complain about what the job he did was not worth paying for and the owner Dina kept having to come by to correct his messes literally she kept walking by and telling him Hugo you can't do this and Hugo be careful if you touch the other part of her hair and Hugo do it this way as if he did not know what he was doing which was very un professional and afterwards I felt so uncomfortable that I just wanted to get the hell out of there and went home and didn't notice all the mess he had made ...in every section of my hair I had orange strips and it was soooooo ugly everyone comment on it saying it was bad and I honestly would not trust him when it comes to coloring blonde hair read more

All the people who have posted a bad review about this business is right. I had my hair dyed by Dina before and it was the worst experience I ever had. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable, she had such an attitude, and was very unprofessional. By all means stay away from this place! She will charge you high end prices for a terrible job and she isn't a high end salon. I should have saw the red flag when I called to inquire about coloring services because the price over the phone and online on her website were completely different. As the conversation proceeded she kept changing the prices. When I asked her why are the prices online different from the one over the phone, Dina became frustrated and stated that the type of hair color I want will just cost more. I decided to get my hair dyed by Dina, she did not deliver. Don't waste your hard earn money here! Spend your money at places such as Capellis in Piscataway, Xchanges in Kenilworth, and Boho hair salon in Asbury Park..these are all high end salons that will do a great job and will provide you with the best customer service!! This place is amazing! Dina was my stylist and let me tell you how amazing she was. I visited my regular stylist for an "ombré". I ended up with harsh lines and fried ends. It was a disaster. A friend tagged me on their instagram page & I was very impressed with their work. After long thought I booked an appointment. I cannot stress how happy I am I did. Not only did she fix my hair.
