Horrible salon!!! They nearly ruined our wedding day as our makeup artist we hired (deposit with contract) decided to show up over two hours late, thankfully my hair lady showed up early so she started me first. I was calling her like crazy that morning wondering where she was and if I should be trying to get someone else last minute and then finally she picked up saying she was on her way. When she arrived she didn't say a thing, not a single sorry. I mentioned on the phone and in person she was supposed to be here by a certain time and she just didn't say anything. At that point I needed her to do my makeup ASAP so I just let it go but it was awful. Our day ran so late that we ended up having to miss our entire cocktail hour of our party (which we planned to join) because she pushed us back so late. Instead we had to take our pictures during that time. We had planned to be there early to do our pictures before everything. So disappointing. My makeup came out fine but really it was not worth the stress and aggravation! They are not to be trusted. Unacceptable when you take on a wedding contract to do makeup or hair and then show up two hours late. This place is a mess, do not trust them with anything special! Inconsiderate and rude to treat a client that way. I will never go back to them for anything! This should serve as a warning to any others planning their special event! read more

I am a long time client of Michelle at Viva Glam and I've had nothing but wonderful experiences there with the whole team and the owners. They are super friendly and make you comfortable as soon as you walk in. I love love love my hair and I've had many cuts, colors, extensions, and mani pedis at this facility. If I ever don't like something (and that's rare) they fully support me and make the change I am asking for. Found this salon in the clipper magazine and they have a special going on for partial highlights and cut for 69.99 so decided to give it a try since I was tired of going to Staten Island to get my hair done. Had to write because I really love my new cut and color thanks to ERI the stylist!! She was very professional and did a mini consultation before doing anything to my hair first. She told me everything she was going to before she did it and was just really sweet, and gave tips about what to do for my hair when home. It's nerve wracking to go to a new salon but Eri made me feel super comfortable and the final product was so nice. I already recommended my sister and obviously will be back!! read more

Do not trust these people. I went there for a retape of hair extensions, and to have my current color partially lightened to blend better with the extensions. I went there with 48 (24 sandwiches) Hot Head practically new etensions in my hair, but didn't want them all put back because my hair was too thick with all of them. She processed my own hair too long, so she had to put more color back in which took more time, and I ended up with just about the same color I came in with. She put 36 extensions back in. I was charged $350.00 for the retape, $100.00 for the color, and $70.00 to trim and blow out the extensions! I have been wearing tape-ins for 3 years now and have had them done in several places. I have never before paid to have the extensions trimmed or blown out! (BTW, I asked the stylist weeks before for pricing and she told me to get a copy of the pricing menu from the receptionist or online. I asked the receptionist, and she said they were out of copies, I looked online, and there was no pricing for extensions, nevermind retaping)... shame on me for not insisting on pricing upfront. I told the hair stylist (Maria) that I had an appointment and needed to be somewhere else by a specific time, and asked if we'd have enough time to complete this process, and was assured 2 hours was enough time. Needless to say I was very late for an important meeting. The kicker - they kept my extensions, and when I called, insisted they gave them back to me. I don't usually write reviews, and waited a month before writing this one because I didn't want to write a negative review in anger, but the public has a right to know when people run a business so unethically. read more

I used to come here semi regularly. As I continued to go, I realized what a terrible salon and system they run. The girls there work their butts off while the owner just sits around and talks and orders people around. This salon is so poorly ran I wouldn't be surprised if they're out of business within the next year. read more
