Must say for the price next time I will make sure to eat before going if I visit again. Management constantly checked on our table which was great. Left early and did not stay for the full show. They recently started serving brunch on the weekends and oh my god. Steak Poutine, Coastal Board, and Croissant Beignets are incredible. The ambiance/decor is stunning! Absolutely in love with it, and I think it's very unique for the area. The pricing is a little more expensive than I think most people expect to see in the area, but I understand they're a higher end gastropub so I really don't mind. The cocktail list is amazing. We've been there a few times now, and the cocktail menu is unique and tasty. Honestly, the biggest downside here is the bartending service. I want to be very clear my service from the servers has always been great. However, the drinks are slow and that has been my consistent experience after several visits. They're slow enough that more than once a server has apologized for how slow the drinks are, which I can appreciate is not something the servers have control over. read more

A great venue for around 100-200 people. Very charming with all the windows though I believe they have methods of covering them if you want your event more private. At 8:30 p.m. this evening, my husband and I stepped in for a drink; the bar had a decent interior and decor. The female bartender was excellent tonight. My spouse asked for Elijah Craig Old-fashioned when he placed his order, and I got a New York sour then we received our bill after having a few drinks, the Elijah Craig old fashion came out to be $40 for one drink. The night manager tried to tell us that the bottle they have cost them $100 from their distributor, after my own research $50 gets you a bottle of Elijah Craig toast rye. The woman who appeared to be the night manager was quite impolite and unprofessional. Having previously worked in customer service, catering, and hospitality, she did not represent any of these qualities. We personally visited different country in the world, travelled across United States, and we have never spent forty dollars for an Elijah Craig old fashion. We will not come back or recommend this place to anyone. They lost a lifelong costumer after this evening. read more

My daughter, Anna, visiting from NYC and I had dinner tonight at the new Glass House restaurant on Jefferson Street. The wine and bar offerings are substantial and unique. The five section menu includes three sections for hors d'oeuvres, one for the main course and one for dessert. All offerings are meant to serve two or more people. We probably overdid it since we were out for a monumental evening. This meant we outspend our nonexistent budget with the assistance of two credit cards. But if you order a little more conservatively, you could do better than our $150 final bill plus tip. We had four appetizers and two desserts, skipped the meat course all together, since Anna is a vegetarian And had a pitcher of sangria that was more than adequate for the evening. We did bring home most of one of the desserts, but polished off everything else with glee. The food was delightful, and even possibly exciting. With the same ownership as the water dog across the street, the two restaurants are not really comparable, but the remodeling of the Glasshouse interior Has been impressive. You can enjoy yourself here easily without partaking of the full five courses plus drinks. The surroundings are pleasant and the wait staff seems up to speed for a place that has been only open three weeks and was pretty busy on this Thursday evening that we visited. read more

We hadn't been in the restaurant 45min and having drank not even a half bottle of wine amongst 5 of us, before the manager cut drinking off after my brother in law walked out with his fussing child a couple of times? Wild and Bizarre! Her reasoning was that he had slammed the door a few times. The door is broken. The soft close is hanging off the side of the door. I mentioned this to her and she said that she is aware that the door is broke but still stood by her assumption that there had been excessive drinking involved without any additional explantation? Crazy!! Her exact words were "I am aware that the broken door is part of the problem." Never have we have been cut off like this. We won't be returning either way but what a piece of work. Our waitress was great, however so thank you to her! Still tipped her for our time! Unfortunate ending to a great start, as we had planned to spend some time there! Not sure what this girls deal was! I also find it interesting that we were never asked for I.D.s when asked for a bottle of wine. :) We did receive our bottle of wine without any sort of verification. We adored our first experience dining at the Glass house in Lynchburg, Va. Our server , Jos, let us know how the menu worked. I would say it is a sharing menu either between a couple or among couples. Even though they have a limited menu, there was truly a lot to choose from. we 4 shared 2 appetizers, a crudite plate with peanut dip and a beet poke, both delicious and very tasty. Each of us ordered different entrees and all were pleased with their selections. The cocktail menu offered some interesting libations. I had what was basically a really well made Manhattan, two others chose a pino Grigio and one an IPA beer. We chose not to do dessert and felt pleasantly full, not stuffed. Our server was very accommodating and friendly. overall we would rate this restaurant with 4 stars. we definitely want to return. The interior was comfortably modern and uplifting. Our wedding reception was held here over Labor Day weekend 2018. Greg was great to work with, very flexible, especially regarding set up and take down. He was also very receptive to my ideas and desires to make it the wedding reception of my dreams. His caterer did an amazing job! All the guests kept raving about the food and in general how cool the space was. Parking was convenient and the surrounding downtown area was great for taking photos.
