We didn't have a prior reservation but we didn't have any issues getting a table right away. This trip was a disaster I was really craving French onion soup so this is why we came here, but unfortunately the French onion soup wasn't the best. It barely had onions in it and it was a twist to the normal original French onion soup. I was quite disappointed. The kids pizza wasn't fully cooked on the bottom. The Mac and cheese had a weird taste to it. The slice steak had zero flavoring to it. The Caesar salad was a disappointment because we requested not as much as the dark section of the lettuce and clearly that was all that was given. The waitress was great. Great food, great space and GREAT service. We dropped in at around 5:45 PM on an early Friday evening and had NO IDEA this restaurant was as big as it was once we got in. Although it looks quite modest on the outside, this restaurant actually has THREE dining rooms inside. Yes, THREE! The main dining room contains the bar and classic tavern booth seats, while the 2nd and 3rd dining rooms have your typical tables with chairs. We were seated in the last dining room, which probably was the largest of them all. The menu was very typical of your neighborhood pub/tavern - simple appetizers, burgers/sandwiches, salads and entrees. As we always did, we had already done research ahead of time and knew what we were ordering even before we stepped in. For our kids, we ordered the Kids Mac & Cheese and Kids Burger Sliders with American cheese and French fries. Both came with a beverage and ice cream. My better half got the restaurant's self-proclaimed 'Famous' Sliced Steak Dinner with a Baked Potato and I ordered the Prime Rib Cheesesteak topped with cheddar, peppers, garlic aioli, and onions served with a side of fries. First, the Kids meals. The Kids Mac & Cheese was LEGIT. None of that Kraft stuff. This was real, authentic, fresh cooked on the stovetop Mac & Cheese. The Kids Burger Sliders were 3 oz each and were pretty big. I had a small piece of one and it was shockingly goooooood. They were expectedly well done, but still very good despite the fact that they were not medium. As for the 'Famous' Sliced Steak Dinner, the sliced pieces of steak were tender, juicy and flavorful. Don't think we've ever had a sliced steak meal quite like this one and it was verrrrrrry, verrrry good. As for my Prime Rib Cheesesteak, dare I say it was probably better than some Philly Cheesesteaks I've had in Philly??????? YES, I said it! The bread was pillowy super soft and the chopped up pieces of cheesesteak were delicious with the toppings. There isn't much happening in the downtown Glen Rock area, so it's not hard to proclaim The Glen Rock Inn as possibly the best restaurant in the area. However, with that said, the food was great, the amount of space inside of the restaurant was more than multiple restaurants combined and the service from every single employee we encountered was fantastic. Even if The Glen Rock Inn was located in a dining hotbed, like Ridgewood, it would still be close to the top of my list of places to dine at in these neck of the woods. read more

Came here on Sunday after running a race in town. We were immediately sat in the dining room but were told that there was an event/concert starting. The dining area quickly became packed and loud with lots of families that were there for the event. It was frustrating to say the least and wish they sat us 4 in the bar area instead. Even though we were the first table to sit, a table of 8 got their food before us. I heard that they're known for their sliced steak dinner so next time I'm here I'll definitely try but the staff here is amazing. Wow we have y been here in about six weeks and the difference was absolutely disappointing First, we waited forever to even have someone come over finally the waitress came over and took our drink orders. I wanna say at least 10 minutes past and we're still waiting for our drinks, my boyfriend saw the waitress, just standing by some table of people talking while our drinks were on her tray . She finally realized, and came over and took our order. Now we always get muscles here in red sauce because they definitely were in the top five of our favorite mussels however tonight that definitely was not the case they were ice cold and they were the worst most disgusting mussels we have ever tried. I cannot even describe the consistency. They were gelatinous stringy and just disgusting. We prayed that our entrées of stuffed shrimp would be better however that wasn't even bigger. Let down four shrimp that they charge you $30 for. Let's not forget the side of hard as a rock, undercooked, rice and vegetables In the 17 years that my boyfriend and I have been together, we have never sent back food ever this was the first time we ever had to send something back because it was so inedible. I don't know what happened here if they just don't care anymore if it's too much for them since they expanded, but it was such a disappointment And really upsetting because it was definitely one of our favorite places to go on a Friday night. read more

We walked in right at opening hours of Saturday morning. Huge dining area, has a big bar too separate from dining hall. Popular with crowd to watch sports in the bar. Food is excellent here. We loved all their dishes we ordered. Calamari, cheesesteak, lobster roll, pizza, french onion soup all were delicious, large portions. Cheesesteak has lots of onion, peppers and cheese in it, with thin shredded beef. Lobsters roll comes with two sandwiches both spilling over with lobster meat. The service was good. I am not one to leave a bad review but there we so many issues with coming here for dinner. This was my first and definitely last time ever coming here. The restaurant looked beautiful and freshly renovated but yikes. From the moment we arrived the wait staff seemed overwhelmed or just not sure where to tell us to go to be seated. We were seated in the bar area which was fine, it was comfortable with plenty of TVs. After about 10-15 minutes we are sitting waiting for a menu or honestly anyone to notice us sitting there and waiting. I've never been seated at a table without a menu or told where we can access one virtually. It's now been about 25-30 minutes and a waitress comes up to ask us if we're ready to order. I tell her that we were not given any menus and have just been sitting here trying to flag someone down. She did not apologize for the delay but comes back with just a drink menu. And then we wait another 10 minutes for a food menu. Both of our drinks were incorrect. I ordered a glass of Riesling and my date ordered an IPA, when we told her they were both wrong she brought him the correct beer and didn't take away the wrong one. Our calamari was okay but nothing special, it honestly tasted like it was out of the freezer. The Reuben was absolutely terrible, the corned beef was chewy as if it was microwaved, the rye bread and fries were the best part of that dish. The shrimp was questionable in my dish, the spinach was 100% frozen, Sundried tomatoes were oily and had zero flavor. The pasta was extremely undercooked and chewy. Not to mention I asked our server if I was getting a salad or soup with my entree and to her response," oh I figured you ordered that with the original server". Like how would I have ordered, doesn't even make sense. Also not once did we get checked on after receiving our food, it took so long to receive it and we were starving unfortunately. Had an amazing meal here last night. First time eating here besides attending a party last year in the back room. We had the BEST WINGS EVER! My favorite wings were Sharky's in Clifton, but these are even better. I always order wings with sauce on the side, and these wings had amazing flavor sprinkled on top so I didn't even need any sauce. Nice and crispy and so tasty. For entree my DH got shrimp taco app special that was yummy, and I got the prime rib cheesesteak that was again flavored so nicely. We don't live nearby but this will be our go to when in Bergen Co! I met a friend at The Glen Rock Inn for a Sunday lunch recently. The space is large and they've set up clear dividers between the bar tables for COVID. My friend and I ordered a red and a white sangria, both were tasty. While the menu isn't loaded with a lot of gluten-free options, I had the most delicious beet and goat cheese salad. It was fresh and flavorful, brought to life by the zesty dressing provided. My friend enjoyed his BBQ chicken sandwich and I must say, the fries in the basket looked adorably cute and tasty. Happy this establishment is operating during COVID because every time I pass by, they are always packed for outdoor dining. We've been in the area for about 2 years now and never had a chance to eat in. This morning we decided to have lobster rolls for brunch. We did a to go and they had it ready very quickly! The lobster roll platter comes with 2 Maine lobster rolls, French fries and a salad for $22. What a deal!! For what it's worth, the rolls were fresh and tasty. I wish there was a bit more lobster in the rolls but overall for the price I guess it was a compromise. The roll was nicely buttered and toasted as well. Tried for the first time last night and it was just ok. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing in the fish and chips dinner which was passable, but had way too much batter. The "side of cole slaw" was served in one of those little plastic containers you would get ketchup to go in and it was half empty. That's not a "side", it was literally a fork full. I did ask for some more and was gladly given another container. I'll go back and try one of their staples like the wings, and onion soup. This is an update and the three stars is for the way it was handled. Actually, I'd give it five, but the jury is still out and so I'll leave it at three. I heard from both Evan (third generation owner) and Gina (manager) and stopped by the Inn on my daily walk. And I stopped by the restaurant two days after my review and saw Victor (second generation owner). Let's just say that Victor gave me a reason to give the Inn another chance. That being said, if I see that same server there next time I go, I'm turning around and walking out, unless, of course, it's been explained to him, in no uncertain terms, the proper way to treat customers (I didn't think common decency needed to be explained, but maybe, for some people, it has to) and he recognizes me and apologizes for how far out of line he was. Even so, there's going to be a bit of a cooling off period for me, plus we do eat at other restaurants, so it may be a couple months or more before I return. read more

After driving by here many times and living and working nearby, I ate here for the first time tonight. It was all outdoor seating due to Covid restrictions, but a good weather evening. Service was good as the hostess sat us right away and the waitress was great also. I had the Chicken Rancho Sandwich and a Rose Sangria which were both amazing. We had the back room which had a private entrance which was good for our guests and limited nonparty traffic in our area. They opened early so I could set up and were excellent with helping and striking after the party was over. Additionally, they had the color linens needed for the theme. Food choices were many ... lots of cold items (salads, shrimp, cheese, fruit, grilled veggies) and many hot items, offering breakfast items like French Toast, Eggs Benedict, a carving station with ham and turkey, many hot dishes (beef burgundy, pasta, chicken franchese) and a large variety of dessert items.
