Driving was an adventure. The entrance at night is easy to pass by. But once you go through the front door, the ambiance is darker and very relaxing. It was pretty packed but we got lucky and got seated fairly fast. The menu isn't large which I like. We decided on the scallops, duck and the peppercorn fettuccine. The scallop was my favorite. The sear added a ton of flavor to the sweet scallops. I wish I had the larger portion option. The peppercorn fettuccine had beef and an assortment of mushrooms. The peppercorn was no overwhelming in the cream based sauce. The only think I thought was a little salty was the duck. I normally don't add salt to anything so that is personal preference. read more

This is what you expect all restaurants to be. Good food, amazing staff and a nice atmosphere. I came home from University for my reading week and my family had a nice dinner here as a welcome home, we missed you, and it was amazing. The appetisers were so good I didn't even get a chance to take a picture but my main and dessert (pictured bellow) I still think about and it's been close to a month. This might sound kind of strange, but everything was so smooth. From starters to dessert! The tartare was INSANE. I don't think I've ever eaten something so delightful. Perfect amount, texture, and perfect balance of flavours. Also, the gnocchi was KILLER. I've had lots of gnocchi in my life, but this was by far the best. Creamy sauce, delicious mushrooms, and each individual gnocchi tasted like it was made with care. Amazing! Now, the entrees... CRAZY. I literally cannot get over how good everything actually was! Not only was the protein delicious, but everything on the side was as well! My salmon came with some potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, micro greens, and lemon hollandaise sauce. So delicious, and I left so happy xD . And finally, each dessert was so different and enjoyable. Texture was on point. Crunchy and smooth in every bite, and I wish I could eat them every other night after dinner. Also, these needs to be mentioned. The staff was BEYOND PLEASANT! Always smiling, courteous, and relatable. When we told our waitress that we were celebrating Father's Day early, she brought my dad his dessert with a little candle on the side of the plate and said, "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!" :') . The hubby and I go here often and we've never had a bad experience. It's a popular place, so reservations are HIGHLY recommended especially for Friday and Saturday. The servers, bartenders and hosts are always so friendly and there are those who have incredible memory. Like I said, never a bad experience. So far we've had: The oysters: the selection is always changing, but always fresh - it comes with mignonette, but no hot sauce so you'd have to ask for it Buffalo mozzarella: good for sharing, but enough to have it on your own Sea scallops: AMAZING! The butter sauce is so good, you'd want to lick the plate. Calamari: very crispy and a good serving size. I'm still on the fence on the aioli. Gnocchi: delicious! It's big enough to share just like the Buffalo mozzarella, which I suggest you do because even the appetizer portion, having it as your own appetizer,&/ filling. You can get a dinner sized portion also. Tavern burger: very juicy! And the dressings are perfect. Lamb: I've probably get this 90% of the time we go and I never get tired of it. I definitely recommend it. Steak: always cooked to perfection. Peppercorn fettuccine: my husband's go to favorite. It's got the perfect meat to pasta ratio and we always have food left over. Duck breast special: this isn't on the regular menu and we were told they hadn't served it for a while and when they do it's usually in the fall. We lucked out to have it in the summer. It was made with a blueberry jus and I was blown away. If they have it on the menu when you go - ORDER IT! Scaramouche coconut cream pie: I can see why it's so popular. It's the best way to end the dinner and you can even take a slice home. This place is so popular and we love it there. It's a perfect place for a date night, night out with friends or if you just want a nice dinner out. The food and service never disappoint. read more

This is a great restaurant to visit. Although, the menu prices are on the high side, it is certainly worth it. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere inviting. The execution of the food though is what impressed us the most. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into every dish with the right balance of flavours and textures. We would not find the restaurant if not told by some friends who have been here. It is a very cosy place and it is small. We went on a Tuesday night the place was packed. So without a reservation you can forget it. It was 7 of us, so we ordered a lot of different things. they are all very good. Everyone of us left happy. The steak is a must according to our friends who have always come here. I didn't have the steak for I hardly eat meat. We tried three different salad, they were all good. The soup of the day was cream of mushroom, it was a total delight. We will for sure to come back. read more

What a gem. Beautiful spot and warm staff with incredible food. We had the steak tartare to start as well as the mushrooms (with scotch egg) which was a gorgeous intro, then a main sized gnocchi and the cod. Delicious is an understatement. If you're looking for a cozy ambiance with good food, this place is it. I visited this place for a friend's birthday and will be going back again. The menu pretty much caters to a variety of palates (even picky eaters will find something to their liking) they serve everything from salmon to pasta to duck. I had the hamburger with frites, which was a good portion and delicious meal for the price you pay. Ask for lemon mayo to go with your frites. The highlight of the evening for me was the coconut cream pie. Best cream pie I've ever tasted. Will be going back for more. read more

Hands down the very best restaurant in Halton Hills. It rivals restaurants in Toronto as well. Excellent food and service.

It's just amazing. Service, food and atmosphere are all 5 star. Relaxed and fun but such good food. You get what you pay for here. I've tried several dishes and drinks. All good but the biggest surprise was the duck main course. It was incredible! Their salmon is also always amazing, they do change menu seasonally but more to reflect their sides or sauces. This place also has the BEST burger and fries ever. You will def need reservations, so call ahead by at least a few days if you can. For a larger group, I'd say a couple weeks ahead. Fantastic food. Great service. So what Scaramouch owns it! But what a moron of a maitre'd. He fawned over people whom he seemed to know and ignored us. Then, at a table next to us he told the customers that the lamb was Australian and then corrected and said it was New Zealand and that Nz lamb is the best in the world. Not. Some experts say that Gower marsh fed lamb is the best in the world, followed by Ontario, followed by New York State. lamb depends on the breed and what it's fed. But apart from the lamb business, he was unpleasant, arrogant and snobby. Pity. Will not be back. Make love to new customers, moron. Get us back. We actually knew the people at the next table and had a laugh at the Glen's expense. Also very costly for the expertise of the food prep and the surrounding. Big letdown, given the expectations. Real hit and miss Poor Wine .... we received two bottles that were 'corked' according to the maitre'd who relayed the message through the server. Embarrassing for us to have to return two bottles of wine. Excellent gnocchi appetizer. Finesse and fabulous flavours Terrible Main Course. Ordered the special 'Seafood Medley' . Have been here on numerous occasions and it is definitely the best restaurant in the area. The quality of food and service are top notch and the location and ambiance are really nice. Great cocktails, decent wine list, cold beer, perfect sized menu in my opinion and delicious food - couldn't ask for anything more. Have tried a lot of items on the menu and have not had anything that I did not enjoy. We did go once for lunch and it is the same menu as dinner other than the special, which was more geared for brunch. We probably won't be back again for lunch since the menu items are not really what I would consider eating for lunch so that would be my only suggestion for improvement. read more

I read an earlier and equally unimpressed post and am in the same boat. My wife and I recently spent our anniversary here and were left feeling pushed aside and unwanted. We had reserved a table with the intention of staying for a while, enjoying a few courses with wines and cocktails but 90 minutes into our stay I felt as though we were being watched. Clearly the table was needed for a later reservation but 90 minutes is not nearly enough to time to really enjoy ones self. I'm willing to bet the parent restaurant doesn't push their guests out the door an hour and a half into their stay. Just bad customer service and bad business. To make matters worse, the rest of the wait staff seemed to join the maitre'd in staring in our direction in the hopes of eye balling us out the door while joining having a laugh at our expense. The food was good enough but not for the price tag. Pull your heads out of your butts. Yours is not Scaramouche and this is not Toronto. read more
