Outside seating on a nice night
    Karl A.

Wanted something with flavor that was healthy and found it. A big plate of curry and rice that is perfectly spiced and wonderfully cooked. Sitting outside on a nice day life couldn't be better.

What a well rounded (no pun intended) menu at The Globe! It's an incredibly small diner with some indoor and outdoor tables - we were fortunate to get an outdoor table and the weather was perfect. Staff were very kind and attentive. Ordered both soups to try and I preferred the 15 bean a bit more, but thought both were phenomenally savory and flavorful! My bf got the korean bbq bowl at a heat of 2 and was very pleased! We def would return if in town again (visiting).

First of all, the guy who owns this place is the nicest guy, enthusiastically described and suggested dishes to us, and introduced us to his favorites. He warned us hot was going to be hot-hot, so we ordered lower than the spice level than we normally would and the food was plenty spicy. This place is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. It's right on the UW campus and has a few tables inside and outside. We had fried chicken Tibetan dumplings, and I could have eaten a whole order myself, crispy and stuffed full of mildly spicy, flavorful minced chicken. Our curries were amazing. Like, I still think about them amazing. I don't live in Madison, but if I did, I'd eat here once a week.

Indian Tic-Tac Curry and Thai Coconut Curry-Hurry

I love this place! The Indian tic tac curry and Thai coconut curry were noted as one of the most popular items and I can see why! I would suggest ordering a higher spice level if you like spicy food (; Service was friendly! You order at the counter and they bring it out to wherever you're sitting. The ambiance inside is small but they have a lot of outdoor seating. I highly suggest sitting outside when it's nice out!

We've walked by this place many many times and never really paid attention to it until we saw some reviews so we decided to give it a try. Given it is a super tiny space we waited until summer to dine here at one of their outdoor tables. One problem with that idea was that on a hot sunny day their outdoor seating has no shade so we ended up eating inside (with minimum AC). Fortunately it was early and not too busy. You order at the counter. And I don't think they had any alcohol. I ordered the Korean BBQ pork bowl and my wife ordered the Korean chicken tacos. Both were big servings and very delicious. We noted that we should have ordered the Tibetan dumplings which everyone else had ordered and were prominently mentioned in other reviews. Next time. An interesting mainly Asian menu. My tastes are narrower than my wife's and she saw many other items to order on another visit. We will be back.

This place is BUSTLING! And for good reason. We ordered the Indian tic tac chicken and grilled Korean bbq with chicken. Both were delicious in their own right. I will say the spice level was quite high -- we did a 4/5. The burn felt good but perhaps a bit too high for us.

We went for a late lunch. The restaurant is small but it has outdoor seating. There were plenty of people taking out as well. The server seated us as well as took our order. The service was quick. The food was delicious. We were offered additional rice for our curries free of charge. I would recommend this for anyone interested in quick Asian fusion that tastes great.

I could eat here everyday lol it's that good !!! Great family own restaurant in the heart of madison! They are always so kind, caring, and diligent with each and every customer. I love coming here and telling people about it. I have had the afghan korma curry with chicken level 3 spicy and it's delicious every time ! Their indian tic- tac curry, cajun jambalaya, grilled korean bbq, chow mein noodles, and samosa's are few other favorites of ours. Great place to take out or dine in. They offer indoor and outdoor seating! Go check them out ! Tell em jessi sent you... and grab a Thai tea on the way out. (:

Such a neat experience here! we picked our own level of spice. We loved the nice slow building heat of the Korean BBQ. The spicy sauce around the Tibetan dumplings was surprising & worthy returning for!

Cozy little place with authentic dishes. I had the veggie bento box and the Thai coconut curry spice level 3. Very spicy but delicious. I will come back next time I'm in town.

Delightful cozy spot with a handful of indoor tables and counter seating, plus outdoor seating. The dumplings are to die for.

Creamy Curry Noodles and Japanese Teriyaki Noodles
    Yun C.

The noodles that were used were not the right texture for curry or teriyaki flavors--this was what turned me away the most. Chicken in the curry noodles wasn't the best, either. The service was quick and attentive, which is a plus. Outdoor seating is nice (particularly in the evening) and what I would prefer over the indoor.

Listen, Roll Play has a pretty good Taro boba. However after being around for a couple years it…read morestill seems they are struggling. When they use the cup sealer it's not sealed properly, sometimes it's got two of the seals, sometimes it's just not sealed on all the way. And then if that's okay well then the straw is too small so every boba bit gets stuck. Oh man but if those two are okay then it's the boba pearls itself. Ahh. Boba is not a new concept for me, I've had my fair share but when the boba is so over cooked that some of it seems to be melted and that as you sip the slush you are also accidentally swallowing the pearls because they're so soft, small, and mushy that you can't even feel it in your mouth until its too late. Completely different from someone swallowing a boba pearl that is firm and round where the moment it enters your mouth and is no longer in the straw you are aware. And because the pearls are so warm, it melts the bottom of your slush. Sure you can swirl it around but it'll still melt the nearby slush. It shouldn't be too warm or borderline hot. If I wanted milk tea I would've just ordered that. And then, on top of all that if if IF all that seems to be fine. It's the wait time. It seems like it takes so long to get your drink if there's people ordering food. Like if you go in and it's a board game meet up, good luck. It's gonna be a half hour for 2 slushy drinks. If they cannot work under the pressure of having to serve their whole space full of people in a board game meet up group, then just say it's for a private event or something. You don't even wait that long at bubbling teapot if you're getting drinks when the nearby schools have just gotten out. Honestly so ridiculous, and I forgot to mention that the taro flavor varies. Sometimes it's good like something you'd get in the PNW and sometimes it's a hint of taro, sometimes it tastes like a mouth full of powder. I'll give it 2 stars because when it's good it's good, but when is it good? Hmm well not when they're in a rush so get there right when they open IF they open on time?

With a City Tin discount coupon in hand we popped in early on a Friday evening. Good thing we were early because it was pretty full soon after we arrived. It appears you can call for a reservation which we will do next time. After ordering a beer and after the kind waitress gave us instructions on how to see the full menu through a QR code we placed our order. (They do have a physical menu but that is the short version - more is on-line. She did say that to get to the QR menu is complicated and she was right - thus the coaching session!) I saw from one of the reviews a recommendation on the Krakatoa Chicken so I ordered it. The presentation is not unlike fajitas with a smoking hot plate of lightly fried chicken, onions, carrots and mushrooms brought to the table. The server then poured on the sweet sauce and the steam enveloped the restaurant. Quite the show and it was delicious. My wife got the Bakmi Jahe noodle dish, which was on the short menu, and very tasty and a huge portion. Prices were reasonable for the portions and the quality. We will definitely return.
