A few nights ago I discovered a crack in the shank of my antique engagement ring. The shank (the…read moreband section of the ring) was replaced three years ago by a jeweler near Franklin. Feeling sickened by the idea of taking my ring someplace for repairs (and worse at the thought of losing it if it broke) i decided to take it to Village Jewelers because it is so close to my office. I dropped it off in the late afternoon and they told me that it would be ready at 3pm the next day. They also told me that repair on the shank would be $25. They did not pressure me into buying anything or having anything else done. I called at 11 the next day and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. That was fabulous. When I got there we discovered one of the small pave diamonds had fallen out as it was near the crack. They didn't charge any extra and replaced it in the spot. There was no pressure from the salesman and we had a nice chat about vintage jewelry and other things. As someone who's worked in the jewelry biz before, I can say I was treated well, the repair price was reasonable, the repair and service were excellent and I would gladly go there again. I have since recommended them to other people for repairs.

However, I believe it was one of the business owners - but he overheard the conversation and was quick to see what I was looking for and helping me out. Turns out he was able to fix it within the span of 15-20min which I greatly appreciated. Currently, the store is being renovated but I could see the general vision they're trying to allude. All in all, a very quick and sweet visit.

The ring was really pretty and had a 1ct round diamond in the center, i had the appraisal but that's all i knew, truthfully i just wanted to get rid of it since (cough cough) we arent together anymore. Anyways, I went a few places in Bowling Green and got what i thought were really low offers plus i really hate being at a pawn shop, I just dont feel comfortable there. So when i saw this place i figured what the heck, its downtown at least so it must be better than a pawn shop right? I was right, they were so nice and it was a nice office. Right off the bat i knew that i would get a better offer just based off of the enviornment, I was right again! The best offer i got from the pawn places was $1200......We bought the ring new for $7,500 plus tax. These guys offered me $3200 along with a snickers bar lol. Go see them, they know what their doing and were very professional.

Should I need to do any coin and/or gold related business in Nashville, I'll be going here. I felt very out of my depths with a vintage coin collection that I was offered. I did a bit of preliminary research so I wouldn't be completely in the dark. Kyle was very transparent and again, as stated above, informative. Highly recommend. And, I'll add this as just a practical/logistic matter, it was really easy to find parking for the location. This was a nice added bonus.

When I arrived, the employee could not find my payment in the system, which delayed the transaction. After several minutes, the payment information was found. I asked if the payment had simply not been entered previously because I overheard her apologizing to the employee I had originally worked with. Instead of clarifying the situation, she told me that I had missed an appointment on Monday and implied that this was the reason for the issue. However, I never scheduled a Monday appointment. My only appointment was on Wednesday, and I arrived on time. Then she tells me that she doesn't enter the payment information until the item has been picked up... When I questioned this, the employee gave me what I felt was an unprofessional response and continued staring at me rather than addressing my concern. I explained that I was uncomfortable with the way the situation was being handled, collected my silver, and left. The issue itself was minor and could have been resolved easily, but the customer service and communication during the interaction left a negative impression. When I arrived I had intentions to purchase more items, but after the way I was treated I figured I'd be better off taking my money elsewhere... and you would be too.
