I came in for a quick meal today, bad idea! I sat at the counter by the kitchen to make sure it was an easy meal to serve again bad idea I had 45 minutes before my appointment and had to reschedule because I was late. All I was having was eggs over easy toast bacon. Nothing difficult to make should have been in and out in 15 minutes. Took me 10 minutes to even get a place setting. My name is Mary and I live in Golden ridge. My girls and I stayed at a motel last night because of the lack of power and heat in our home. My youngest has four different teams at CHOP ( God bless them all ) and staying in a home with no heat would have been too hard on her lungs. As you can imagine, being displaced with two children is a bit chaotic at times and this morning was no exception. I brought my youngest with me to the diner to get some breakfast, and left my teen to sleep in. I left the motel without my purse, but I had my credit card in my pocket, so I thought nothing of it. After ordering our breakfast I got the wonderful news that our power was back on! I asked for the check ( even though we had just been served ) because I wanted to pay quickly so we could eat and run. I wanted to be packed up and out of the room by 11 so we wouldn't have to pay for another night like I was expecting to. I was very surprised when the waitress came back to tell me that the diner doesn't accept discover. I told her that we were displaced in the motel because of the power being out and that was all I had on me. I also had my ID, and I was more than willing to leave my drivers license with her and come back in 10 minutes after grabbing my purse from the motel. Nope, that was not an option. The owner said we were not allowed to leave without paying and that he would call the police and have me arrested if I tried. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, the stress of being out of the home, or the weight of being a single mom of two very sick children while battling many health problems of my own, but I just broke down. There I am.... hyperventilating... having an asthma attack... asking them what exactly they expect me to do? They didn't care what I did... as long as they had cash in their hand immediately. An angel named Bryan C. Rachlin and his wife were sitting near me and paid the bill for me. I can not thank him enough for being so kind and generous to a stranger. I have no idea how much worse this experience would have gotten if not for him. I was able to go back to the room, pack up, and bring my children home. My angel Bryan was paid back within the hour but the amount of gratitude I have for him will last a lifetime. However, I am still angry and hurt by the conduct of the owner of that diner. He blew a simple problem into a catastrophic experience and lost a customer for life in me. Please be careful patronizing that establishment in the future. If YOU ever have any problems there I doubt you will be treated any differently than I was. read more

Just want to start off with saying my server was attentive and explained best she could what I was given. I originally asked for a Country Benedict with no sausage gravy, assuming cheese would be on top. That wasn't the case, so I asked for it and this is what I was given. Cold shredded cheese on a now cold poached egg. I asked my server for melted cheese. She returned with this same dish with cheese whiz on top. That combination was truly disgusting. Never in my life have I not been given a melted cheese slice on top of a breakfast item when I asked for it. As I mentioned, I consider this more of a kitchen error with taste and presentation. Not sure why this place "moved". Perhaps for a fresh start on Yelp? Anyways, I will play ball. I've been enjoying the bakery items lately. In this area it is hard to find a good bakery for when you need desserts. 10 miles away maybe, but with the hideous construction project right in front of this place, it's not so easy to justify driving past this place to go elsewhere for, at best, an inferior product. Having some important guests visit soon from a place where good diners do not exist. This is the place I plan to take them to. I consider it my go-to diner. P.s. Customer service has been tops the last year or so. There were complaints earlier, but I'm not really seeing it. This place is disgusting. I took my daughter and grandson out for brunch. There was a big sign on the front door threatening everyone who did not have a mask that they could not come into the establishment. After sitting down and waiting for our food to be brought out, there was a table next to us and behind us with a sign saying no sitting due to social distancing. All of a sudden 5 women walked in and they wanted to sit together. It seemed that the only available table was the one behind us saying no sitting - social distancing. They removed the sign an allowed those women to sit there. The distance between my table and the table behind me was 0. The women sitting behind me was actually touching my seat. It made me extremely uncomfortable. I went up to speak to the manager and I was told there was no manager that was on. The women at the front told me to, "Go back to my table she would come to me." While she was talking to me now only was her mask below her nose - spit was coming out from under the mask. I explained that i was uncomfortable with this arrangement and there needed to be six feet in between our tables. She then went back and brought back a heavy set man who explained to me immediately that he was 73 years old and I was wrong with the distance of our tables. He then informed me that the tables had to be five feet apart and all was good. I explained to him that the chair was touching my so no, it was not six, it was not five it was 0 feet between us. He then proceeded to ask us to move. We had at this point been waiting for over fifteen minutes. I informed the supposed owner that our food is literally coming out now, he should move the people who were just seated. After going back and forth for a few minutes he turned to the women and said, "That nasty women wants you to leave." I then asked him who he was calling nasty and he threw us out of the restaurant. He was annoyed that I wanted to keep the distancing even though the mask on his face and the cashiers face was under their nose. Do not visit this establishment not only are they nasty, and disrespectful their food is usually not good either. Since there is no other diner in the area - we always end up there and walk out hungry after paying $50 or better. He does not care or respect the social distancing I am not so into the masks, I wear them out of respect but touching someone I do not know who they are or where they came from is totally unacceptable.This place is disgusting. read more

My girlfriend and I had a bad experience at a diner earlier in the night so we left and drove 35 minutes to Levittown to eat at this diner. We had a server named Jake and he was absolutely wonderful. Very rude service and high prices all endured for the most underwhelming food I've had in a long time. Overcooked steaks, flavorless potatoes and mac & cheese, not to mention mushrooms on my steak when I hadn't ordered them. I'm giving this place one star for many reasons. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our water to come out. When our meals finally came out, an hour later, I was greatly disappointed. Hands down my favorite local diner! Food is always fresh and cooked to order, no matter how I request it made. Portions are generous, restaurant is clean. Unlike most diners, Golden Eagle's food actually has taste and interest to it, not bland at all. Servers and hosts are always pleasant and friendly. This is our weekly go-to diner for Sunday brunch after church. Highly recommend! read more

The renovated area was nice but the older looking dining room area was outdated and smelled funny. The menu was huge like most diners, with something for everyone. We ordered mozzarella sticks which were good/average, fried Mac n cheese balls-not good /pass on these! Stuffed shrimp which hubby said was ok, waffle with strawberries and bananas pretty good, bacon egg and cheese on a roll- he didn't like it much, chicken croquettes I wouldn't get again...not for me. I really would say 5 if this was service only. My server Jeff was outstanding, always attentive , but never in your face or bothersome. He had a few other tables yet spent just the right time and checked just enough on the table. A big plus was his overall pleasantness, I will definitely ask for him the next time I stop. The food was pretty good diner fair. Although the beef and cabbage soup was a bit sweet, the open faced roast beef was very good. The gravy was just thick enough and not too salty. The steak fries were tasty and also not over salted. Over all the portions were a nice size. It would be easy to eat a quality meal with a drink and dessert without breaking the bank. read more

The third time I ate here and now I had to comment. I had the salmon for dinner. It would have been perfect if it were removed from cooking two minutes prior. Salmon hardens if you over cook it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner--not great at all. Coffee is good. Give two stars for nice venue and friendly service. Please improve your cooking. read more

I actually live not too far from this place and I have gone there a lot. There have been times when the service has been rather mediocre but that's quite rare. Also, some complain it can be pricey but I find you do get a lot for that price so you really can't beat it. PS. Every time we go to breakfast after church my parents and I are practically forced to go here by our my grandmother. I have no clue why she keeps insisting on us going here but I've had it. I don't know what was worse; the food, the service or the gaudy style of the restaurant. I do not recommend going here. The food does not seem fresh and I always get a stomach ache coming here. A few days ago I got The Godfather sandwich. It was turkey, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and broccoli rabe on a brioche bun. I couldn't bring myself to bring it down. My daughter and I recently visited this diner for breakfast as she wanted to check it out after the recent remodel. When we arrived we were seated in the dinning room to the right. First impression was we were the only people in the dining room and placed next to the kitchen door. We were handed a menu which was somewhat limited and which I felt was overpriced for breakfast. Maybe they needed to pay for those renovations? When the waiter arrived at the table he seemed annoyed that we were not ready to place the order he took the drink order returned with the drinks and flung the straws on the table as he walked away. That was enough we paid for the drinks by placing the money on the table and proceeded to leave with no plan to return. read more

My friend was served the wrong beer and when we told the waitress she went to the bar and came back with the same glass saying the bartender knew he poured the correct one, without even checking. I live up the street from the Golden Eagle Diner. The food has always been good if a little pricey for diner fare. The servers are always nice and good at their job. I love their burgers and they breakfast menu. Good coffee too, its a key to a good diner IMO. read more

They are not adhering to the social distancing rules of 6 feet away from one another. They sat a table directly behind mine to the point where the people were pushing their chair against my companions chair. The staff is not wearing their masks properly. The hostess and "owner" both wear their masks below their noses. When I said something to the hostess she pulled the mask away from her face and put it right back beneath her nose. We asked to see the owner because of the social distancing issue so they would be moved away from us. When he came out he was already angry and in a bad mood. He tried to force us to move from the table we were already eating at while the other table had just sat down and were not in anyway settled in. My companion refused to move so the owner goes to the other table and calls her "a nasty woman". When my companion spoke up to ask him to repeat himself he said it louder and then came over to our table in an aggressive manner. We did NOT feel safe with this raging maniac, the lack of appropriate social distancing, or the lack of using proper face masks. read more

I love this diner! Open late, my mother and I stop off sometimes after Parx. Night manager always recognizes us even if it's been months, and late-night service is always fabulous. Well let's just say. Stay away!!! Our waiter could barely speak English so he got the order wrong. Then all the food came out cold. Asked to speak to a manager 10min later finally comes over. Explained all of the problems. The waiter in the mean time said we can throw it in the microwave. What really? Manager takes out food says they will make it all over again and it will be hot. Well they made it hot due to the help of the MICROWAVE. How do I know this you might ask well I had put a cut down the middle of my chicken to check if it was done before we sent it back. Surprise the same chicken ended up on the plate. My sister had order a chicken parmigiana panini. The menu said chicken fingers. Well they have her chicken parmigiana not the panini. Surprise when it came back out they used the chicken parmigiana they originally brought her. Then the baked potatoes that was a different story could tell they nuked those to they were hard as a rock when they came back out. Well the manager walked back to the table with what looked like a cake box in his hands to say here is dessert on me for our screw up. When I politely said we dont want anymore of your crappy food then stated all what they did wrong again he surged his shoulders. Well at this point I'm fuming. Oh and the bathrooms were disgusting to. I said instead of u giving us dessert on you , you should comp the meal since u didn't get it right the first time and liked the second time. He said fine with an attitude. Oh yeah and dont expect a hot cup of coffee here either. So got up to leave and this manager douche is walking to the register with our check and stops me and says see here I'm comping your meal. I said thanks and he stated to me I can go get the chicken out of the trash to prove you were wrong we did remake everything. Well I'm sorry but it's hard to believe that we waited for 45 minutes after we placed our order to get our food and when u "remake" everything it took under 5. Yeah try again douche pool. So if you want a hot meal hot coffee or anything good to eat dont ever go to this place. They spent all that $$$ fixing the outside but that will only get you so far. Extremely rude and unprofessional manager. Questioned my husband why we split the bill if we're married. Asked if we have a joint bank account. Also charged my card more then my bill plus tip. When we went to resolve the issue and get our money back, they refused and argued. Claimed there was nothing they can do. They're obviously unprofessional to not keep copies of their receipts, or they lied and had no interest in making things right. There was obviously some type of fraud going on. They don't care anything about their customers. We then went back and brought the copy of our receipt which clearly shows the total plus the tip I left, and they still gave us a hard time and refused to believe it. Horrendous service and irrational manager. No secret we won't be returning. If you pay with a card, I would watch it closely. They are not to be trusted. read more
