I NEVER write reviews, but this "restaurant" was so disgusting, so overpriced, and so flat-out terrible that I feel like it's my civic duty to warn everyone. The food was a straight-up nightmare. The mac and cheese was so watery it looked like cheese-flavored soup. The eggs were slimy, sticky, and honestly impossible to eat. Even the fruit tasted old and mushy, like it had been sitting out for days. I ended up with a stomach ache afterward -- and that should've been the first red flag. But it gets worse. I put my leftovers in the fridge and ONE DAY LATER they were covered in mold. MOLD. That's not just bad, that's dangerous and unacceptable for a place serving food to the public. The bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable, barely enough room to move, and for how expensive everything is, the quality is insulting. For the amount they charge, this is borderline criminal. The fact that every single person has not given Amy's a perfect five stars is bewildering! To me, Amy's embodies what Yelp is made up, great food, great service and a local favorite. We came to Amy's because we were in the nearby area and it might be my new favorite breakfast spot. The entire place looks like an old school diner that has seen better days, but to me that makes it even more endearing. There is no glitz or glamour in the decor but all the love is in the food and service. Our server brought us their GIANT menu of skillets, pancakes and more. It was a tough decision to make but I got the southern sampler which came with the MOST DELICIOUS grits I have ever had in my life. The sampler consisted of two large pieces of perfect french toast, a crispy chicken cutlet with spicy syrup and a generous serving of grits topped with tons of bacon and scallions. The portion was big enough to share, but trust me, you won't want to. My hubby got an omlette with chorizo that was really tasty and my son was obsessed with their french toast. The prices of breakfast were also comparable to a Cracker Barrel, but the service and taste was amazing. Definitely get there. read more

Great Mother's Day breakfast at Amy's. We got lucky and didn't have to wait. We were happy we got a booth in the dining car. Our waitress was Mar. She was newish but fabulous. There are so many omelette combinations and you can customize any of them. I ended up with the South Jersey omelette which was tomato. Onion, American cheese with Scrapple instead of the pork roll it came with usually! This was by far my favorite omelette I've had there. I got French toast as my side and it was so good. It's always a struggle to pick between the pancakes and the French toast but they are both delicious. My Mom had the Australian omelette and switched her mushrooms for sundried tomato's, I love how flexible they are and everything always comes out correct! We both ordered chocolate chip pancakes -- mine with pumpkin, his regular -- along with sides of pork roll, home fries, and corned beef hash. In true 12-year-old fashion, my son declared the potatoes "amazing" and the pork roll "also amazing." The corned beef hash was on the salty side, but that's my preference, so no complaints here. Portion sizes were big -- definitely no one's leaving hungry. The bill came to about $66 for the two of us, but considering the amount of food, it felt fair. The diner has that old-school charm, housed in what looks like a converted train car, which just adds to the experience. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. I could easily eat here every weekend for a year and not run out of dishes I want to try. Even though it's obviously popular, the chaos is controlled by a well organized staff. The menu is huge but everything looks delicious. Then the actual food.... First, they have a perfect balance of egg, filling, and sauce. (Okay, maybe a hair more sauce so every bite is guaranteed to have an ample ratio) The omelettes are warm and obviously brought out right away. I would totally say these reviews and the four stars is highly over rated! The service we received warrants a four star but the bland tasteless breakfast food I had did not!!! The potatoes tasted like they were par boiled and they threw on the griddle to finish them off and pre cooked onions thrown in for a minute while flipping them. The only taste my cheesesteak omelet came for the cheese that was sparsely throughout. Very quaint little spot just not my cup of tea. Our server was all over it! Friendly and efficient only had to remind her about our side order of bacon but she quickly accommodated us. Told us one item that got left off a skillet would be out shortly without having to ask. Even the skillet was bland. The pancakes were no better that the box mix I make at home. At least I add a little vanilla to make them More flavorful. Came here over the 4th of July weekend. We had Lorraine as our server. She started off by asking us our names and addressed us by our name the entire time, this changed the experience; made the experience feel personal. The restaurant was very old school 70's feel and we loved it; mirrors on the wall and telephone booth outside the restaurant. Based on the name we knew we had to order omelettes. My husband ordered the Manhandler with wheat toast on the side. I ordered the Belly Buster, which has potatoes inside the omelette originally. But I substituted the breakfast potatoes for the French toast. Like most diners, they gave us a generous amount of food. Lorraine was intentional about bringing the food out hot, which is important since breakfast food gets cold fast. Also, she didn't rush us although it was pretty busy. So disappointed in Amy's!!! I have wanted to try this place for ages, so I was off from work this past Friday and I had my elderly Mom with me, who I wanted to treat a real good breakfast! I ordered an omelette with mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers and chicken - it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever!! No phone call, or email received indicating the order was cancelled. Per their staff, it was a computer issue they have been having for a while. After doing some research, the reviews for Amy's caught my eye so I went looking forward to a nice breakfast. When I arrived, there were several employees and the restaurant wasn't overly busy. Kudos to the menu as the selection was broad and some of the items had some funny, imaginative names. I patiently waited for several minutes and no one came by. After about ten minutes of waiting for someone to offer me a coffee, glass of water, or even a "be right with you", I decided to scratch the place off my list. As I collected my belongings and started walking out, an employee paused, looked at me and said "All good?", to which I smiled and replied "Yes, all good." I noticed two additional employees propped at the entrance having a nice discussion with each other, which I could tell that I interrupted their "moment" as I walked by. Thanks to the Greats of Yelp I found Amy's Omelette House. Desided one Sunday morning to try it out. I notice as I arrived lot of parking around the Diner. With plenty of space available. Walked in as was seated as soon as possible. Was handed a menu and was asked what I wanted to drink. "cup of coffee" as I'm looking at the menu and looking at the 222 omelettes and everything esle on the menu, it gets overwhelming to know there is so much to choose from on the menu for breakfast! I went with the cherry pepper and Jack omelette with home fries and toast. Was very good and enjoyed every bit of it. I can't wait to come back again to try something different. I still think the service could have been much better. My server came back to the table just once. That was it. I had to ask another server for a refill on my coffee and bottle of ketchup for my home fries. Other then that I had no other complaints. I recommend anyone that likes omelettes to try it hear.
