Gown Gallery ended up being the only place that I searched for wedding dresses. My party of 3 and I were treated with kindness from all staff we interacted with. My consultant really listened to my likes and dislikes, adjusting the options of dresses that she brought me based on feedback I provided. At the end she convinced me to try a wildcard dress with an entirely different silhouette than I thought I had wanted but still retained other elements that I was looking for in a dress and I'm so glad she did because that ended up being the winner. I didn't end up purchasing a gown on the day of my appointment but it was easy to call back and purchase it over the phone. I also had Gown Gallery complete alterations, the seamstress was lovely to work with and helped get the dress to fit me perfectly. I would definitely recommend future brides go to Gown Gallery! read more

My best friend had an appointment over the weekend and she was not catered to at all. She got to try on a couple of dresses she picked online out of a dozen. When we gave Robin suggestions on what we would like to see her in or what the bride wanted to try on we were dismissed. We were not offered anything at all, not even a glass of water. This was her first time trying on dresses and she ended up overwhelmed and in tears. The best part, while in the dressing room Robin asked her if she would consider increasing her budget! They are great when you are trying and buying a gown. Hannah does not return phone calls when your dress is late arriving and they have no answer why. If you decide to take the dress with out altering from them them become very brash and distant. A complete change of attitude. read more

The Gown Gallery is in a really beautiful building downtown, and the interior is modern and cool, with a fantastic view of downtown KC. They have an excellent selection of mid to high end gowns and personal consultants for each bride-to-be. I was recently the guest of a family member who is engaged, and obviously very excited to say "yes to the dress", but unfortunately The Gown Gallery fell flat. Upon walking into the boutique, we were asked to sit down and we were offered water. We sat at a table for 13 minutes waiting...with no instructions, and nothing to do, when we were finally told our consultant was finishing up with someone else and would be with us shortly. We sat for 15 more minutes and eventually our consultant joined us. This would have been so much better if we'd had a book of dresses to look through or offered a refill on the water...anything would have been better than awkwardly sitting in the middle of a room with nothing to do. When our consultant finally joined us, she was very "business-like", and didn't seem very happy for our sweet bride at all. I understand that people buy wedding dresses every day....but brides want to feel special, and her entourage wants to have fun with her while she tries on her potential gowns. At one point we told the bride we didn't like a dress she was wearing, and we were actually scolded a bit by the consultant....but that's why she brought us with her! This was not a fun and exciting experience for any of us, and we did not end up purchasing a gown here. The bride told me later she didn't feel like the consultant listened to her likes and dislikes very well. Honestly, everything was great until it wasn't. I was not the one purchasing my dress so after I found my dream prom dress I put it on hold and then after discussing it with my family I called and purchased the dress over the phone. (Mind you, this was a $600 dress). The card was charged, I was told the dress will be set aside and I set up an appointment to get it tailored for a later date when I bought it. I came back the day of my tailoring appointment, just to find out that my dress had been sold. Now you can imagine how I felt when they told me that my dress was not there. I was told prior that my dress was obviously set aside, therefore not in the for sale racks. I was told that I could try to find something else that I liked. While doing so one of the ladies that worked there told me that my dress had been on the racks the day beforehand, I ended up asking for a refund and got it. I called pretty much every shop in KC trying to find the same dress and was unfortunately out of luck, I actually had to go on the designers website and called them, they pointed me towards a california shop that shipped. I got my dress for cheaper than the total price at The Gown Gallery (shipping and everything included). Honestly do not recommend, this was just my prom dress. Only one star because picking out my dress was the fun part. Everything else about this experience has been awful and nothing but anxiety inducing for an already stressed out bride. There is little to no transparency in this company whatsoever. I was told multiple times in December I would have my dress and now just radio silence. I have not received any information about my wedding dress order, who knows if it's even been ordered, and my wedding is only a few months away. The ordering department person is always out of the office, never responds to messages/emails, and voicemail is full. I'm so frustrated and upset. All I want is the dress I fell in love with and the thought of not having that on my wedding day just ruins this entire experience for me. I know I'm not the only one going through this, and shame on The Gown Gallery for not attempting to do better for their brides!! read more

Unfortunately, the communication from the online form is not transpired and we received an email to call the gallery. We were then a bit scoffed at for the budget that was stated. The lady repeated after me and then told me they only have gowns from $1500-$9000. My suggestion would be to instead ask if the bride is flexible on the budget since those details are not advertised. Lastly, they asked to put a card on file and assumed we needed to call back to do so. My suggestion explain first why the charge is being needed to be placed on file and ask if we can proceed ($50 charge is placed on the card if there's a no show or cancellation within 24hours of the appointment). Unfortunately, it seemed as though the consultant felt since our budget was $1000, we couldn't afford to put a card on file to guarantee the appointment. Ultimately, the bride asked me to cancel the appointment due to this experience. Every bride is worthy and whether the budget is low or high, treated like a star. Hope the company uses this experience to further educate staff as well as make some changes to the online form or discard it altogether since it doesn't seem like an effective communication tool. read more

I will gladly update my review after my recent experience with Gown Gallery. They redeemed themselves! I purchased a bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding in June and decided to give Gown Gallery a call for alterations... I was a little wary because of the experience with my wedding gown (see previous review). On my first appointment to have the dress pinned for alteration, the seamstress Pam was quick and precise. It was a breeze to schedule a follow up appointment, and 15 minutes after walking in the door, I was done! Each time I've called, someone is there to answer the phones. This was one of the ways I felt Gown Gallery could improve, and they certainly have. Everyone I came in contact with this time around was helpful, genuine and friendly. The dress turned out lovely. Pam did a wonderful job and it fits like a glove. There were no issues this time around and I could not have been more pleased with my experience. I will continue to recommend this place to all my girlfriends and would definitely use Gown Gallery again for any upcoming weddings. read more

They have gorgeous dresses but had a terrible alterations experience. Knew they would be on the pricey side, but was willing to pay more to make sure my bridesmaid dress was altered well. Unfortunately, I did not get what I paid for this time. Paid $130 to have the dress hemmed, bodice brought in, and the shoulder slightly adjusted. Along the way, the front pleating was mangled and I was told by the seamstress that "that was the look the designer was going for" and she wouldn't be able to change it without ruining the other pleats. There is NO way the designer intended for the front of the dress to look like this. I ended up having to try and salvage the front of the dress myself. Would not go back for alterations ever again, be warned!! read more

I had an appointment with the gallery to try on bridesmaid dresses for my step-sister who lives in Austin. I am not quite sure what I was expecting or if my expectations were set too high, but when I arrived I was deflated. The display of the bridesmaids dresses reminded me of a rummage sale. The lady helping me looked busy enough and seemed nice enough but was running around completing other tasks. She pulled a few dresses for me and put me into a dressing room that was reminiscent of your average department store. I asked for something to drink, all she could offer was water, which I found on the table as I was leaving. My friend helped me in and out of the dresses and took pictures for my step-sister. I left after speed-trying-on the dresses after a half an hour. Again, perhaps my expectations were too high, but I certainly did not experience any level of superb, personal (or anywhere near it) customer service during my visit. From this experience, you may as well go to a Davids Bridal, save yourself some money and are likely to receive better service, which is a sad statement for someone who is deliberate about supporting local businesses. read more

I got my wedding dress from here and could not be happier with it. However, I would like to share some complaints. First, when I was trying on dresses, my saleslady Gwen brought a bunch of dresses for me to try on. Great, except for the fact she had me try on several dresses I clearly told her I did not like. I was patient at first, but eventually asked her why she was having me try on these dresses I so clearly would never choose, she simply said "Oh we just got them in and I wanted to see them on someone." Let me be clear about this. Gwen had me trying on dresses that I had already clearly informed her I was not interested in, seemingly in an attempt to make a commission. Next, I ordered my veil the same day as my dress. At my first fitting, they had the color of my veil wrong. Apparently, the "designer" of the veil happened to be there that day and I was told that they would correct my veil to what it was supposed to be in the first place. I had my hair trial today, and my veil was supposed to be available for me to pick up according to the Gown Gallery. It was not, and I was given a "loaner" veil for my hair trial. It has been MONTHS since I have ordered and paid for it, so it makes no sense why it is still not in. Everyone I have spoken with at The Gown Gallery has been very friendly. It just does not seem anyone knows what they are doing there, and though I love my dress I found there, I would not recommend this place. read more

I had an appointment yesterday with Moniece and had a fantastic experience. As soon as I met her, I knew that we were on the same page and I could put my full trust in her. She chose beautiful dresses for me. I felt comfortable and beautiful in everything I put on, and the group that came with me had fun too. I was able to try on a large variety of dresses because Moniece was efficient, yet patient, and I appreciated that. It seemed like she genuinely enjoyed being there. Additionally, the Gown Gallery offers food and drinks from the restaurant downstairs and I thought that was a great touch. The building is beautiful and has great natural light (which makes sequins and beading on the dresses shine even more). I have no doubt that you will love this place and the employees. read more

I was very disappointed with my, what I thought was a private appointment. I went with a couple of my bridesmaids for their dresses. There was a mom who had come in because her daughter just had a fitting, but she wanted to look at mother of the bride dresses. She was told to make an appointment, but she still got let in just to look through. The selection of the dresses weren't as good as I thought, even with being able to order in whatever color I wanted. My consultant was in and out of the room during our private appointment, she didn't really help us too much. By the time she asked if we needed help, my girls were about done trying on their dresses. I understand that I didn't get my bridal gown there, but I felt rushed, and disrespected. If the consultants are trying to make a sale, they should be more attentive, and mine was not. Although all my bridesmaids weren't there, the two that were with me, felt the same way and weren't happy with the selection of dresses. They didn't have much of plus sizes either. We were told to order online and they only order certain sizes, but we felt like there should be more plus sizes in the store. Unfortunately I will not be returning even though I was told to come back to schedule a 2 hour appointment, bring the rest of my girls and it'll be more fun. We were also told if we did that, we could cater mimosas from affair and I asked if they paid for that and they said no, we had to pay for extra catering. I'm sorry I'm not trying to pay for more catering when I already have an expensive wedding to pay for. When I got my bridal gown, we got mimosas and champagne during and after I found my gown. I was told bridal gown appointments were really nice with this place, I just wish they cared about the bridesmaids appointments as much as they did the bridal ones. read more

Buyer beware! When the designer of our $4000 wedding gown didn't have it ready in time, we didn't hear from The Gown Gallery. We left several voicemails until we finally heard back from them. They offered to have the designer overnight the dress directly to us (for which we had already paid $125 upfront along with the entire price of the dress). However, by this point, the dress was so overdue, we had already begun to look for a replacement off-the-rack dress in a panic. We were fearful of not being able to find someone to do alterations (of a $4k dress in 2 days), so we asked that the shop simply refund us our money to give us peace of mind, which they refused to do. They offered to help us find an alterations person who could do it in two days, but they did not follow through on that offer, as they stopped returning our phone calls. (Please note that all of our communications were polite. There were no harsh words, threats or yelling of any kind.) We asked them to do right by us, the customer, and assure us we would be taken care of, in case the dress could not be altered in time for the wedding. We had to coax an apology out of them, which we got, but when we asked them to put themselves in our shoes and to offer a way to help make it right ...nothing. Ultimately, they did not offer to help compensate for the inconvenience or additional expense, nor to offer a solution if the dress couldn't be ready in time. When it came down to it, they were fierce about protecting their interests and the designer's interests at the cost of ours, the customer. You could be next. read more

I went to Gown Gallery on a Saturday morning to try on wedding dresses. I had an appointment set for 10 am but we had to wait until nearly 10:20 before we met our consultant. I filled out a form with all of my information (including budget). The consultant let us look through some of the dresses and pulled the ones that we liked. The salon was very nice and there were several other appointments going on at once. The consultant tried to get me to try on dresses that were $300-$800 over my budget. She wasn't clear on what the prices were until I was already in the dresses. When we firmly told her what our budget was again and that we wanted to stop seeing dresses that were over budget she said we should adjust what we want and increase our budget. I was told that the style of dress i was interested in did not really come in my price point. I was SHOCKED that the consultant acted this way. It was very uncomfortable and it really ruined the entire experience. If you have any sort of budget i would not shop at Gown Gallery. read more

If I could post more that 5 stars, I would! First let me state that I am the Matron Of Honor. It was my job to research and plan bridal dress shopping for the Bride. Let me also add, that I am from Las Vegas and everyone was coming into Kansas City for this appointment. I initially chose this place because of the designer selection they offered. It was our first stop of 4 shops we had for the weekend. The fantastic customer service I received making the appointment, already set the tone for what was going to be a successful trip. When we arrived, we loved the novelty of having to "buzz" in. We walked into the building and preceded to go upstairs. We were initially surprised not to see any dresses except for those that were on mannequins. Since this was our first stop, we all just thought we would be able to sift through dresses, but that turned out to be the best thing for us NOT to do!!! After we sat down and our consultant Robin met with us. She asked the Bride several questions and looked and absorbed the pics that we had. Instantly I knew we were going to find out dress here!! I knew that she knew her stuff and knew body types and really listened to what was being said. Then...like a fairy godmother Robin disappeared and came back with a rack full of dresses...all matching what the Bride had described. After 3 dresses, we knew the style that the Bride had her heart set on, was not going to be her dress. Robin picked up on this too and also realized that the Bride wanted something completely unique. I think the lucky dress ended up being number seven. When the Bride walked out, it was that magical moment all women hope they get...tears when the dress is the one. We all knew, but we had found the dress but wanted to still make sure, so Robin continued to bring out dresses. All looked amazing but didn't trump the one! Our appointment had run way over and lucky for us Robin didn't have another apt at noon. She was AMAZING at answering all our questions and there was absolutely no pressure. Since we had 3 other appointments, we felt as though we should go check them out, considering they all carried different designers. Robin graciously invited us back the next day to show the other 2 ladies joining us the dress. So...we ended up going to 2 of the 3 remaining appointments. The one right after this was good, but we went right back over to Gown Gallery to try on the dress one more time. Still love!!! The next morning we headed to yet another shop. We had high hopes because this shop had designers that we were looking forward to trying. When the Bride started trying, nothing compared to the dress from 24 hours before. We called to the store one last time to try on for the 2 who had joined. Even though Robin was busy, they still told us to come on over. This time was it!! Everyone still cried. The Bride said yes to the dress and it was a magical moment!!! Dress was purchased!! We all walked away knowing that this whole experience was AMAZING because of Robin. Her commitment, drive, focus and passion to listen to what was being said, was superior!!! One of the women with us promised that when her daughter gets married, she will be back to visit Robin. Bottom line...if you are NOT looking for one on one superior service with a consultant that is eager to listen and find your perfect dress, then Gown Gallery is not for you. If you are hoping to go in and sift through dresses and feel pressure to make a choice, then Gown Gallery is not for you. This place is unique. I bought my wedding dress here for my wedding in December and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED (and STILL love) my dress. I know there are some not-so-glowing reviews of this place and I have to say, it has got to be all in what consultant you had when you visited. I had two separate experiences with GG. The first, a visit with a friend who was searching for her wedding dress. Her consultant was Ebony and, at the time, I was very impressed by Ebony's ebullient personality and willingness to pull whatever would make her client happy. She did an excellent job! When I decided to visit GG for my own gown, I was a little nervous after reading other reviews but went for it anyway, remembering the earlier experience with Ebony. I was ecstatic when we arrived to find that Ebony would also be taking care of me! I brought pictures (hundreds, it seemed like) of what I loved. Ebony patiently went through them with me and talked through what trends she noticed and made sure she had a clear vision of what I was looking for. Then off she went! She only pulled four dresses for me and I could tell that she definately understood the style I was looking for. There was one dress in paricular that really stood out for me. GG, of course, had the exact Lazaro dress that I had salivated over for months, but could not afford. Ebony had taken my attraction to the Lazaro and pulled a dress by Christina Wu that had elements of the Lazaro but was unique in it's own way. I tried on the dress and it was perfect! My mom and friend were both blown away by how well she had nailed it--and how quickly! We tried on a few more but knew we had found The One. The best part of this story? Ebony hadn't upsold me on this dress. I came in with a hard $2000 budget and the dress she sold me was $1169. This allowed me to purchase the cathedral-length veil that I had always dreamed of but hadn't thought would fit into the budget. In fact, NONE of the dresses Ebony brought me went over or came close to busting my budget. This was totally contrary to every experience I had at both Ida's (all the dresses were right at or slightly above my budget) and Bridal Extraordanaire (who had me try on a $6000 dress when I told them I was going no higher than $2000). After the dress purchase, I had very good experiences with the seamstress and the rest of the staff. Ebony was always on hand to say high and help me with all my fittings. I had none of the bad customer service issues that others have had and would highly reccomend that any bride check out GG...but request Ebony! read more

This new review is from my bridesmaid dress shopping experience - which was altogether MUCH more pleasant than shopping for my gown! My Maid of Honor made the appointment this time, so I don't know how her experience compared with my previous one (in which they had no idea I'd tried to make an appointment online) When we arrived this time, the receptionist (a different lady than either of the people I'd seen at the desk last time) smiled and greeted me, asked my name, and said Heather would be down to help me shortly. Heather was equally pleasant, asked the names of my bridesmaids, and took us in to the bridesmaid gown room. I guess with Gown Gallery you either get horrible service in a beautiful setting, or great service in an ugly setting. The room for bridesmaids had outdated carpet and wasn't aesthetically pleasing in any way - though there was natural light coming in, which was nice. The fitting rooms didn't have mirrors in them, but no biggie. Heather didn't offer us anything to drink - but that was just fine with me. I had a better idea of what I wanted for my maids than what I'd wanted for my gown, and she selected some for us but also gave us the freedom to roam around and grab as many as we wanted. She complimented me on my taste, was honest in telling the girls how they looked and complimented them when it was appropriate, and had a smile on the entire time. Completely different from the lady who had helped me the first time. She was surprised to find that I wasn't in their system, despite the fact that I had been upstairs to look at bridal gowns three weeks before. I wondered (to myself) whether the reason I wasn't in the system, and the reason I got such poor service the first time, was because the associate helping me didn't believe I would buy a gown from them... Or perhaps she's just incompetent. Either way, Heather put me in, wrote down the dresses I liked for me, and sent us away happy. I'm not one to post many reviews, but this was one that needed to be said. Robin was absolutely incredible and made dress shopping feel so easy. I was so anxious when I walked in because dress shopping is honestly nerve-wrenching. But Robin made 4 of the pickiest gals (my mom, grandma, sis and I) feel at ease and walk out without an ounce of stress on our shoulders anddd with smiles on all of our faces. We walked out of there both happy & confident that we picked the right dress and wouldn't have to worry about anything between now and the wedding because Robin has us covered. She made sure we got the best dress for the best deal and has been making sure that we are taken care of every step of the way. I absolutely 100% recommend the Gown Gallery and 110% recommend Robin. My first day of dress shopping I made a day of it. A late morning appointment at David's Bridal and an afternoon one at Gown Gallery. I was curious to see what they could offer at David's Bridal because the prices there are so great. I didn't have a bad experience at David's Bridal, but when we walked into Gown Gallery it felt like they were on a whole other level. First of all, the lighting is so great. It feels like a loft space with big windows and each party gets their own table. We were seated and treated to mimosas. We waited about ten minutes and then Markelle was there to help. I had a very clear image of what I wanted. I showed her a few necklines and let her know the type of material and price range I wanted. She nailed it. She only pulled 5 dresses, but there were two that were so fabulous it made it hard to decide. The one I decided on was only $100 over budget, which wasn't at all an issue for me. It was really a price we were happy to pay for how perfect the dress was. We put our deposit down and were told it would be about four months until the dress was in and they would call me at that time. Four and a half months later I got the phone call that it was in. I went in two days ago to try it on and make sure everything was correct. On my second visit I had Markelle again and she was just as lovely and helpful as the first visit. My dress was even more beautiful than I remembered and Markelle helped me decide how I could alter my dress. My dress came with a long sash that can be tied into a long bow, I wasn't crazy about the bow idea so Markelle let me know that it could be sewn into the dress to look like a belt, with no long bow. Pretty cool! Both times we were there everyone was really friendly and this last time another woman saw that we were taking pictures and offered to take a group photo of us, so nice! Before I left I made and appointment for two months before the wedding to have it altered and I really feel like I will be in good hands. read more

I just wanted to share my experience I had at Gown Galley. I heard and read so many great reviews that I decided to book my first dress shopping here. Days before my appointment, I was so excited because this was going to be my first time trying on dresses. On 5/19/18, I have never felt so rushed, offended, and disappointed. I was so disappointed I chose Gown Gallery for my first dress shopping experience. I couldn't even find the "IT" dress because I felt like my stylist Gwen wanted to sell me a dress at the Lazaro trunk show instead of at my appt. First of all, I didn't appreciate Gwen asking us, "Where are you guys from?" When we proceed to tell her we are from KC, Cali, etc. She goes "No no , you know what I mean." Well first off, if you are asking about someone's ethnicity, you need to phrase it as so. How can you assume we were not born in America to ask where we came from? When we finally told her we were Vietnamese, she asks us, "Does your family own nail salons?" We couldn't believe she asked us that. We were already off to a bad start. During the whole appt, she kept talking about the Lazaro trunk show and to make sure to make an appt. Also, she asked if my mom is ever planning to come in with me. When I said no, she asked why not? First of all, it isn't your business and what if my mom wasn't in my life? She kept asking me to text my mom to come in for the trunk show. I don't know how many times I heard about the trunk show and to text my mom? I felt like I was getting sick to my stomach and just wanted to leave. Also, I told her my budget was anywhere from $2,000-3,000. She kept pulling dress at $4000 and stated if I came to the trunk show I would get a 10% discount which makes the dress about $3500. I felt like she didn't respect my budget at all and just wanted to sell me a dress at the trunk show and not the day of my appt. Anyways, I was there for a little over an hour before I even got to try on any dresses.. There was a girl next to me who got there after me and she was literally trying on like 20 dresses. When I looked at the dresses she picked out, I asked her if I can get more variety because the dresses she picked, I didn't care for. She comments back this is a variety. Again, I was already super annoyed with her I did not want to argue For my whole appt, I only got to try on 5 dresses because my consultant talked too much and spent too much time doing who knows what. After my 5th dress, Gwen stated she is out of time but to go ahead and text my mom to see when a good time would be for her to attend the trunk show. Again, she has ruined my first dress shopping experience. Literally, the worst time ever. read more

I'm hoping the consultants from some of the previous bad reviews are no longer working at the Gown Gallery because my experience here 2 weeks ago was great! My consultant, Robin, was amazing and incredibly attentive and VERY knowledgeable when it came to bringing me dresses. You could tell she was really taking my opinions into consideration after I tried on each gown and bringing me just the right styles I wanted until we found my perfect dress! I'm a super perfectionist at planning ahead too so I had pulled up multiple dresses on my phone from my favorite designers that The Gown Gallery carries and Robin brought me a bunch of dresses that were those exact ones! Also, I brought 3 family members and 4 girlfriends with me and there was plenty of space at our table for them and they were offered beverages multiple times during my appointment. Robin would even make small talk with everyone while I was changing from one dress to another so they stayed entertained the whole time I wasn't out in a gown. First off, the gowns here are all incredible and the setup of the entire place is gorgeous and as pinterest worthy as ever. My best friend and I had no problem with the woman who was helping us try on dresses, although we were initially stunned by the price tag on many of the dresses that look as though they should have been thousands less. I am a size 12, but many of the dresses pulled for me ranged from size 10-16 depending on the designer, which seemed odd. My main issue again, is not the dresses, but rather the way different people are treated by the staff. When we arrived for our appointment, we had to wait a half hour to be seen. We were offered water only. Other (more affluently dressed) people who showed up for their appointments were greeted immediately and offered champagne in flutes. We all sat in the same area, and the lady who was going around offering wine or champagne completely skipped over the tables where it seemed people were dressed less fancy. This, I don't understand. It's great that they do offer champagne while waiting, but if they can't offer it to everyone, they shouldn't be offering it at all. If you like to be treated as less than worthy by someone with their nose in the air, this is the place for you! read more

Now that the wedding is over, I thought I should write an update considering the roller coaster dress situation we went through. The dress came in in June, as we were told, with a phone call to the bride letting her know it was in. Of course, she wanted to rush down and try it on since it had been several months and she was excited to see it. The bride is very petit and this dress is very intricate, so when it was ordered, they ordered the hem to hollow done during manufacturing since it would be VERY difficult, if not impossible, to hem. So when she tried it on, we were all a little confused at how huge the dress was. It was about 8" longer than it should have been and she was swimming in it. Distressed, we figured out they didn't do the hem alteration and they even sent the wrong size. So they reordered the dress and we left, assured that the new dress should get here in plenty of time for the wedding in October. But by the the beginning of October, no dress. When there was only 2 weeks until the wedding, full on panic set in and we made another appointment to go in and pick out a back-up dress. Everyone at the shop was extremely sympathetic and I know they were doing everything they could to get the dress there. But with only 2 weeks, we were freaking out. We picked out a great back-up dress that would need minimal alterations if that was the dress we had to go with. But the very next day, the dress arrived FedEx. We ran back in, met with the alterations lady and had the dress in-hand within the next week. The way they handled this mini crisis was great. There was great communication throughout those last few weeks as they scrambled make sure the dress arrived in time. We got a lot of reassurance that they would make sure the bride was happy no matter what. We were all so happy when the dress finally arrived. I would definitely make this a first stop when dress shopping. ProTip: It seems like it's less hectic and crazy if you make an evening appointment than if you try to go on the weekend. read more

I could not have asked for a better experience. Due to Covid, there was a limit on the number of people you could bring, but they were accommodating to us FaceTiming everyone that couldn't make it. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. The only good thing I could possibly write about the Gown Gallery was that Robin was a fantastic salesperson. She really should go to a different shop to work. We ordered a dress in August of 2019 for a wedding on July 11, 2020. We were told it would be available in February, then after several voicemails and emails from both me and my daughter, it would be shipped the first week of April. Still nothing. They never called to give an update and wouldn't return any calls or emails. The dress finally arrived on June 15th. This was after I finally made contact with the designer and she put me in touch with her contact person. I would never recommend the Gown Gallery to anyone and have told everyone I know that is in the market for a wedding dress to NOT go here!! read more

I had an amazing experience with Hannah! I was nervous to try on dresses, and she put me right at ease. She listened to my preferences and gave me a variety of dresses that would look good on my body type. My budget wasn't huge, and I was worried there would be limited options. I tried on over 10 amazing dresses, and found the perfect dress in a style slightly different than I thought I would end up with. That is why a good stylist is important, they can show you options that they know will work for you! She was so patient with me, and we tried and re-tried on the dresses I liked to make sure I was confident in chosing the right one. I'm so excited to wear the dress she helped me pick. I would not advise ANY bride to use this shop. The customer service is AWFUL. I have to call numerous times, leave multiple voicemails, and send emails in order to get a response. For a company specializing in wedding gowns, they seriously lack management and communication which is the absolute LAST thing I would want as a bride. This company failed to update the size of my gown which resulted in a MASSIVE alterations bill on an already expensive purchase/day. I was so upset and they offered no additional discounts for their errors. I strongly recommend all brides to not visit this shop. read more

Moniece is the one!! She was super attentive and listened to all my requests. Answered all my questions and made me feel beautiful. She pulled off the wall dresses that I just wanted to try on. Then she found what I liked, and brought 5 dresses in my style, making is super hard to choose. I thought I knew what I wanted...I did not, but Moniece did!! Minus one star because I didn't get a robe while I tried on dresses...or champagne. They did provide water and coffee, though. But my vision of 5 star is being treated like I have more money than Kim Kardashian (which to me is a robe and champagne). read more

If I can stop any brides or anyone from coming to this place, I will. I don't take time to write reviews unless the place is extremely bad or amazingly awesome. Sorry this is long, but please take your time to read this if you are considering going to this store. Gown Gallery was the first gown store I chose for my first experience of wedding dress shopping because it appears elegant from the outside and I wanted to go into a store that made me feel special. I didn't know what to expect. I am pretty easy going and understanding of most situations. I didn't know I was treated badly until I got home and talked to family and friends and they asked how my experience was. Here were the issues: 1) I felt rushed the whole time I was there, from the beginning to the end. The consultant spent only a few minutes with me discussing my wants and desires of a wedding dress. 2) The consultant helped me try on my first few dresses, about 3, and then left to be with another client. I was left trying on the rest of the dresses on my own (about 10). I am a size 0, and these dresses were about size 10-12, which was expected, but I didn't have anyone to help me clip the dresses. I got exhausted and quit after a while and decided to go with a beautiful dress that I love...it was the 3rd dress I tried on. I bought it. 3) The checkout took about an hour....I had plans after dress shopping, so this was frustrating when I thought I would be done at a certain time after I chose my dress and was at the checkout desk. The consultant who was getting me checked out kept on having to answer the phone, which I understood wasn't her fault. But, the shop should have been adequately staffed so that a receptionist can be answering the phone while the consultant was placing my order. Half way through the checkout, she had to go help another client, so she had another person took over with the order, which delayed me even more. 4) The worst part of this whole experience was how Gown Gallery handled my concerns/complaints when I called them a few days later after realizing that I spent a lot of money (over $4000) on a service that I clearly did not get. The manager, Sharon, was unapologetic on the phone after I expressed my concerns for the issues I stated above. She didn't apologize once. I asked for a refund or a discount on the dress for the poor service and distrust in them handling my dress any further. She said she would call me back the next Monday, which she did but I missed her call. My fiance and I tried to call her back almost every day for that entire week and left a message for her to call us back, she never did. The consultant called me and left a message hoping to speak with me personally about the problems. I called her back an hour later and left a message for her to call me back, she never did. 5) So needless to say, I never heard back from Gown Gallery regarding my concerns, no apology, nothing. Thankfully, I was able to dispute this charge with my credit card company. If I was running a business, even if things didn't work out, I would still contact the customer and offer something, a discount on the dress, a discount on future bridesmaid dresses, a discount on alternations, an apology, anything, just to make it right with my customer. And if I didn't want to offer anything for the customer, I would at least call and apologize for the service that he/she felt like he/she did not get or was inadequate. None of this happened. What a disappointment Gown Gallery has been and how they treated me. It is obvious they don't care about me as a customer, or care about their future customers, and the state of their business. I have to say I have no complaints about my consultant, Kim. She was wonderful when she was actually there helping me. It was Gown Gallery that I have a problem with. I would highly suggest that you do not come here if you want a service you can trust in case something goes wrong with your dress, orders, etc. read more

I was super exited to of had an appointment at this gallery for my wedding. I was sadly disappointed when I had to wait an hour after my set appointment time for them to start working with me. I also noticed that their dresses hanging are all dragging and touching the floor. Bottoms of the dresses were all very dirty from the floor and people walking right by them. Maybe it was just a bad experience for me, as I've seen they have nice dresses but I wasn't impressed. After I mentioned in Instagram about my experience and suggesting to possibly have the dresses up off the floor.... They deleted my comment rather than trying to respond and make it right. As a store manager myself that would definitely be an opportunity to at least apologize and take a suggestion from a consumer. Oh well. read more

I don't know where to even begin with this review... I was flying in from out of state because my family is there, and I wanted them to be able to go with me as I tried on dresses. I made an appointment months in advance, booked a flight, and the week of the appointment they called me to try to reschedule. After over 10 phone calls back an forth, they cut my appointment short... I flew in for a special trunk show, and that's the best they could do! I shouldn't have ignored how awful they were to deal with, but my favorite designer was having a trunk show. Ok... so I did find "the" dress (although I wish I had ordered it from somewhere else). Ordered it in October and needed it shipped to me upon delivery. I called so many times I have their number memorized- you can never get through to anyone and they won't return a message. I suggest dialing an extension until you talk to someone because trust me, you'll never get a call back. After confirming all shipping (which they had my address wrong 3 times!!), they cancelled the shipping once (I had to tell them I never cancelled it!), arguing over not paying a storage fee (because they are supposed to ship to me)... I finally got a shipping confirmation number. I specifically asked they require signature at delivery... it's a 3k dress and I wasn't going to be home the day it was scheduled for delivery. Shocker... I come home at midnight and my dress is crammed into a box sitting outside. No garment bag, nothing protecting the box (hardly taped!). Thankful and lucky to have gotten the right dress, in the right size, and that it didn't rain or get stolen while just sitting outside. The one star is for the fact that I got my dress... but to no credit of this store. Would STRONGLY recommend going elsewhere for your dress. What an awful experience. read more

I went dress shopping with my sister, who is the bride. The Gown Gallery carries a lot of designers and has a great selection of dresses. We however, did not have the best experience. Our party sat at a table that did not have a designated mirror for that area, so the bride had to switch between 2 mirrors while sharing/waiting for the other brides using those mirrors. We felt really far away from the bride or in the way the entire time. My sister did not say "yes" to the dress there. She did love an orchid hair comb, but did not purchase it either. I later contacted them to buy the comb for her as a surprise. When I initially called I was told I would get a call back. I did not. I then was told to email them and send a picture of the comb. I did not hear back until I followed up with them. After a month of multiple emails and calls, the comb was finally "found" and ordered. A private vendor made the comb and sent it to me. It was packaged beautifully with a nice note to the bride, addressed with MY name, not my sister's(the bride)... Every detail seemed to be missed by every encounter we had with The Gown Gallery, which is the opposite of what I would want for mine or anyone's special day. read more

I had an absolutely horrible experience with this place. I called to set up an appointment to to try on some bridesmaid dresses because the bride wanted to get our preference. I was met with nothing but arrogance and rudeness. I was told that I could only make an appointment if I was 100% sure I was going to purchase a dress there. I explained that if the bride decides on a dress that is available through them I would definitely purchase through them but I can't guarantee that because I don't know what dress the bride will choose. They then told me I wasn't allowed to make an appointment. Horrible horrible customer service. read more
