I have been staying on and off at the Grand since 2023, and this weekend was my last time. And I left the property before my reservation was even over. "We have breakfast available" yeah if you count 3 bland cereals, 2 kinds of toast, and juice as breakfast. This weekend there was a "private event" held in the next room and they had eggs and sausage available...but no sign saying private event. So a few guests went and got breakfast before the guy hosting the event SCREAMED at us to get out...and management never said anything. But the final nail in the coffin was my AC never getting fixed. I told management on Saturday morning that my AC was broken, and the room never got below 74. Management said maintenance would take care of it around 9am. I get back to the hotel that evening to discover my room at 75°. I called maintenance and they came up and the maintenance worker changed the temperature to Celsius reading instead of Fahrenheit and claimed it was fixed. My room stayed at 75° all night and I slept with cool washcloths on my body all night as I have a blood disease that prevents me from sweating. I am VERY upset with The Grand and how they handle things. I've loved staying at their property, but unfortunately this will be my last time with them.

Great location. Plenty of parking. Spacious room. Welcome fruit plate. Continental breakfast offered.

    1. Heating (and cooling system) was broken. 2. Fireplace also was broken. 3. DIRTY. 4. Hot tub hasn't worked in a looooonnngg time and its nasty because it's left out with rotting leaves. 5. No room service. 6. No shuttle service. 7. Front desk had a cold/flu/allergies/COVID and didn't have a mask on. 8. Their systems says I booked 3rd party when I booked through their system (I had proof). 9. No manager on site when problems arose. 10. Front desk limited in the assistance they could provide (which is basically nothing except that they left messages for the manager). 11. Not very customer friendly service for that particular evening, no apologies for the issues we reported (probably because they were not feeling well, in which case, they should not have been working). 12. We did finally get our issue resolved (its winter and I paid close to $350 for one night and I expect to be warm), but only after multiple, increasing assertive (not aggressive!) requests from the front desk staff to escalate to their management. 13. Front desk said there is "nothing" they can do about the lack of the basic amenity of heating...and there was no more rooms left (oh, but there was!). 14. I'll say it again: DIRTY.

The bed was completely broken from the base and they refused to do anything about it.

This was by far a terrible experience at this hotel. I will not recommend it to anyone. After getting checked in, I went into my room and noticed the bed was broken with a hotel in the mattress that sunk. I immediately went to the front lobby and asked to speak to the manager to get a different room. The employee was not helpful at all and then proceeded to give me the "manager's number." I then went to my room to call said number and realized he had given me the number to the lobby. The next morning I went to speak to the morning manager and still no manager was available for help. The breakfast offered was also mediocre and not what was advertised. And to make things worse, I was charged two different amounts despite getting similar rooms in two different reservations. I believe I need to be compensated for my terrible experience and lack of support from the hotel staff.

Fruit plates as part of the complimentary continental breakfast.

Spacious but Definitely NOT Grand I booked the suite so we could have more room to spread out as we prepared to be guests at a wedding. Pros: 1. Water filling station 2. Spacious suite Cons (a few mentioned - sooo many): 1. No extra blankets in the room. There was one extra pillow. That is all that was made available. 2. One set of towels (two people should have at least two bath towels each) when checking in. 3. There is no full-length mirror in the room. The only mirror is in the bathroom, which is not useful if more than one person needs a mirror and the bathroom is occupied. Okay for business people traveling alone, not great for more than one person. 4. No microwave in the suite. Yes, the hotel provided one when asked, but if I am paying for a suite, that should be available without asking. Apparently, there is also a rental fee for the microwave. 5. HVAC system is not working properly. The fan setting should not be tied to the temperature. Properly installed systems allow air flow via fans without any temperature changes. The fan kicks on ONLY when there is heat or cool temp deviations. Any room can feel stuffy with stagnant air so that is why the fan and temp settings are separated on a thermostat. 6a. Breakfast NOT as pictured! Two-star hotels offer better breakfast options than this hotel. We had muffins, hard-boiled eggs, and croissants on the first morning, but none were available on the second morning. If you wanted something, you basically had to ask because they did not restock items automatically. Those who did not know what was available could not ask. No microwave in the breakfast area either. 6b. There are only tables for +4 people and a lounge area to eat; so if there are only two or fewer people, you are occupying a whole table or have to share a couch. 7. Hazards all around the hotel. Slipping hazards because there is no mat next to the ice machines and water filling station to avoid puddles. The extension cord for the toaster is not secured or taped down to prevent a tripping hazard. Pretty sure this violates the safety of the workers and the guests. 8. Only one side of the toaster works. It's less than $100 for a fancy toaster that works. Very inconvenient when more than one guest needs to use it. 9. Pool towels? If you only give us bath towels, there is certainly no way to use the pool and then shower without a dry towel afterwards. 10. Windows and outside of hotel need a good washing. Not useful to have floor-to-ceiling windows in your suite when they are dirty and cannot see the view well. 11. Light bulb in the bedroom was out. Simple checks when guests check out should be done. 12. They provide iPod docking stations. What decade are we in?

This hotel is located in Silicon Valley, central to everything. It is a very nice and comfortable hotel. Our room is spacious or shall I say, huge with two queen size beds and a bathroom with two sinks, a tub and shower enclosure. Breakfast is included and selections are not the usual scrambled eggs and bacon. There's sautéed corn, sausage, broccoli and cheese soup, cereals, cut up fruits and juices. Another area offers waffles, breads and pastries. Plates are reusable china instead of disposables however cutleries and cups are disposables. There's a Flowater machine for filtered and great tasting water, something I value when traveling. Bar is open from 5-6:00pm offering complimentary drinks! Pool and gym is also available for guests. The only thing that got this review a 4 star is the thermostat in the room. Somehow we can't change it to a comfortable setting. It blows cold air even temperature is increased.

Don't waste your money on the villas. All the "amenities" they offer didn't work. The curtains to the balcony were broken, the fireplace was falling apart and only went on extremely low, the adjustment was knob was broken off, the radio didn't work, 2 of the lights in the room didn't work, on top of that there was a stain on the blankets and the mattress felt like it came off a pullout couch. The empty response from this managing partner tells you, they know and just don't seem to care. Once they have your money that's it, it's too late

This last trip to Silicon Valley I chose this hotel as it was a good price/close to destination. I was surprised to see the breakfast was included and there is a very pretty pool area where you can enjoy your morning coffee pretending you are on vacation in this chaotic area. My room was huge and the bed was super cozy. Loved the bed the most. Everything is pretty functional, nothing too fancy but definitely much better than other hotels I have stayed nearby. My only suggestion is to replenish the soap in the shower. Mine was almost empty and also the dispenser looks too cheap. In general, a great experience during my 3 nights at The Grand

    Bed bugs

*First time review, bed bugs!!!!!!* I am absolutely mortified for having to write this review. My friend booked us here for New Year's Eve eve (Dec 30). All looked nice, clean etc, granted the eggs for breakfast were green and gross... I didn't see bed bugs but was informed by my doctor they live inside the mattress therefore not visible despite thinking they're hanging out on top of the sheets. I have not traveled for months and the one time I do, I get eaten alive by bed bugs! My friend is bit up as well. We know 100% they are from this hotel as we both only stayed one night and we went to our own homes the next day and started severely itching. I am quite literally bit head to toe! I have over 20 bites all over my body. What has me raging mad is the fact the front desk gave my friend the rigamarole back and forth because she's very sweet and polite. They called her yesterday, said they'd call back... said today they didn't see anything... ok? I have been suffering for 72 hours with these bites and it wasn't until I called hot headed they will refund her money. TLDR: bed bugs, rotten eggs and run around staff

The kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt, there were some great vendors, and the whole event had a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. I also got some pretty good footage of the scavenger hunt and everything that was going on, so there was definitely plenty to enjoy. Whoever is behind organizing the Second Saturdays deserves some credit because they're doing a great job. There was a nice variety of activities, the kids stayed entertained, and it felt like a genuine community event. Now... the reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to one particular interaction. There was an older gentleman named Matthew who was helping out and wearing a vest. Let's just say Matthew and my wife and I did not exactly become best friends that afternoon. Some of the comments he made toward us came across as unnecessarily rude and, even if they were intended to be jokes, the humor definitely missed the landing. I'm all for a little sarcasm and having fun -- trust me, I can take a joke -- but there's a difference between being funny and making people wonder, "Wait... was that really necessary?" Thankfully, the event was for our kids, not for us, so we didn't let one interaction ruin the day. The kids had fun, the vendors were great, and everything else about the experience was positive. I'd definitely recommend checking out Second Saturday if you have kids or just want to support a cool community event. Hopefully, next time Matthew leaves the comedy routine at home and sticks to the helping. Overall: Great event, great activities, great vendors, and a lot of potential for an even better experience. Just one sour interaction kept it from getting that fifth star.

That was because he spied on my clean up in the past too, which was uncool! It made me uneased. I felt picked on. His behavior of one-sidedly consoling the bully, instead of remaining neutral was off putting. There's a constitutional right of "freedom of movement " that no one shall obstruct your free choice. I was glad I stood up for myself. Clay, no matter how careful you are with, will be inevitably left a few traces in the sink, and it is not a big deal. Everyone does it and everyone has his/her way of cleaning. No need to nitpick and be pathetic. To be bullied and snitched by someone who thinks she has the right to tell others what to do is disheartening. Pottery making shall be a peaceful time to create without being disturbed. To instruct people what to do as if acting as a social warrior puts a damper on freedom and creativity. They should put a sign next to the sink, that reads, "Please mind your own business when cleaning, as people like to be left alone." The entire community center is funded by tax payers' dollars, government-operated meaning it's run differently than privately-owned ones, and is more authoritarian in my opinion.
