When I visit my parents and don't feel like slumming it on the living room couch, my siblings and I usually stay at Wild Palms. From the outside it looks like a spruced up motel, but the interior is modern and newly refurbished. Their rates are very reasonable, especially for the area, plus you don't have to pay extra for parking. They offer a solid free breakfast in their lobby area. It's not just pastries and coffee, but have hot items, cereals, fruit, bagels, pastries and my personal fave, fresh waffles. It's a full and very satisfying meal. The rooms are clean and refurbished. Beds and pillows are comfy. Trying to get extra towels or pillows usually mean a walk to the front desk because no one answers the housekeeping phone at night. Opt for a first floor room because there are no elevators. The rooms have individual AC units so it gets balmy outside on summer nights. All in all, I would totally recommend Wild Palms to anyone looking for a no frills, safe place to stay. read more

I want to start by thanking the management team for their prompt and helpful customer service. When an issue arose during my stay, they handled it professionally by allowing me to check out early and issuing a full refund without any hassle. However, I am leaving this review so the property can urgently address a serious pest concern in the bathroom. After taking a hot shower, a sudden swarm of about eight large winged insect bugs (alates) emerged into the room from around the bathroom fixtures/walls, likely triggered by the steam and humidity. They were also found crawling on the towels on top of the sink next to our toiletries. While I truly appreciate how kindly and quickly the front desk resolved the situation for me on the spot, the hotel's maintenance and pest control teams need to inspect the bathroom wall voids and plumbing shafts immediately to eliminate the active nest before hosting future guests. i have to update my rewiew. I had a very uncomfortable stay. I couldn't sleep the entire night because my neighbor was singing loudly all night long. The walls were extremely thin, so every sound came through. On top of that, the air conditioner was broken, and I had to wear all my clothes just to stay warm. It was honestly a nightmare. When you pay for a room to sleep in, one thing you shouldn't worry about if the bedding is clean. I was unfortunate to find out that my bedsheets had blood splatter on them. 10/10 would not recommend staying here because if they don't clean sheets that are clearly disgusting you can only imagine what you sleep in. P.s. GM of the hotel called me personally with apologies and a decent explanation of why I might be wrong. Out of respect to him I give my stay an extra star. A great 3 star hotel I almost wanted to keep this place a secret . Downfall animals allowed. Unfortunately, not everybody keeps great hygiene for their animals . I broke out in a hive on one of my legs but that was thankfully it. I take my own sheets and blankets to any hotel high end or not. I love the look of the hotel you feel like you're in Miami. The staff is amazing and so helpful. Great pool lot of parking. You did have a lot of rude guest in the am which was a shock to me. Lots of great food in the am. Guest reaching across you with no excuse me or pushing into you was the one bad thing that happened. Because this is more of an open style hotel, be prepared to hear what sounds like a motorcycle, but is them blowing leaves in between the hallways Lots of shampoo, body wash conditioner, and things are available for you. read more

They put lipstick on a pig. You can tell by the outside of this hotel that it was a motel. The lobby is extremely cutely designed. But you are catfished. While the room was decent and bigger than expected (still small) it was set up well for what it was. However It is in need of major TLC. The floor trim is torn up as well as the corners of the walls. I did not want to inspect any closer. It is also very loud. Slamming doors and people talking. That's the main issue and why my coworker friend said she would not return. It's about 20 minutes to Levi's Stadium before the traffic jams at the end of the event. If you are a deep sleeper and can deal with an unkempt place to stay then you would probably be fine here. There is a fridge in the room. Best thing about this "hotel" is the AC worked. The pool also looked cute but we didn't make it down there so can't comment. It's odd this is a jdv property. I had a slight higher expectation for the brand. This very much feels like a dated Hyatt Place, perhaps with non standard decor. The rooms smell. The staff is like a Hyatt Place staff. They are helpful but just manage expectations. The rooms are clean the smell I mention are strong chemical cleaners. That's all around the property. The breakfast is barely passable, it has the basics though. Coffee, hard boiled eggs, breakfast meats, fruits. This hotel is thoughtful that they provide rice and oatmeal for breakfast. Feels like many people do long stays here. This would only be an option for me if other hotels in the area are booked or priced too high. read more

Stayed here for a 49er game at Levi's Stadium, location and price were great . Pool & Jacuzzi area was nice . The only not so great things were ; the breakfast and coffee was worth the price ( free) , and the Noise on the 1st floor close to lobby area. I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The cleanliness was unacceptable. The bed sheets had visible blood stains, which suggests they had not been changed before my arrival. This is a serious oversight and completely unacceptable for any guest accommodation. I only stayed one night because I did not feel comfortable remaining any longer. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here. The other side of the bed that I wasn't sleeping on smelled like bodily fluids. I booked a 2 full size bedroom, and was offered that but on the far end with absolutely NO view. The room we were offered is on the garden side, and is extremely small, not typical to Hyatt style properties and as an explorist status member - there was no upgrades available. The front desk associate also seemed like she didnt want to be there, i understand there are bad days but it was pretty bad customer service when we reported that there was hair in the bathroom after checkin. The most they did was say that they could clean it out. Given this property almost costs 9k points on most days, I recommend just footing additional 3k points and getting a room at the other properties around here. We still have 4 more days in our reservation, so wish us luck ;) read more

Stayed here many times over the past two years and usually had decent experiences. Not this time. Booked 2 weeks in advance as a Hyatt Globalist. When I arrived, I was assigned a ground-floor room directly on the busiest street corner, sharing a wall with the fitness center, right next to the lobby. Constant noise from the plumbing or HVAC. Maintenance crew working outside my door while I was getting ready for dinner. Unusable for sleep. I texted the front desk asking for any other room, I didn't need an upgrade, just somewhere not facing the street corner. On my way out to dinner, I ran into the front desk employee in the hallway. He said he was too busy to handle it right then but would look into it. Over an hour later, the reply came back: "sorry, sold out." So of every room in the building, this is what a repeat Globalist guest gets, and there's apparently nothing better anywhere on the property? This place has never been luxury, breakfast is mediocre, parts feel rundown, but the staff used to make up for it. This time there was zero flexibility, zero acknowledgment of loyalty, zero effort. Completely transactional. Checked out without staying and went somewhere else. read more

This used to be some cheap motel. They completely redecorated, but you can only put so much lipstick on a pig. Getting a good nights rest is risky because the walls are still paper thin. The breakfast is also sad and not up to standard for accommodations in this class, with only one hot item (bacon or sausage links), hard boiled eggs, string cheese, yogurt, bread and fruit. Prices are often low but you get what you pay for. Otherwise, things look nice visually and parking is free. read more

Making it a goal of mine to try as many Hyatt locations as possible. Decided to try out Wild Palms for a quick stay. Check in was easy and staff is friendly. Decor in the hallways is a bit outdated and cringe. Room itself wasn't the cleanest. Floors were a bit dirty. Shower items (shampoo, conditioner, etc) are not locked. Similar to Hotel Avante, so not the biggest fan of the cleanliness aspect. AC kept beeping also. In general, everything at this location is a bit oudated. The benefits though, the price point is cheaper and there is free parking, so a few positives in the stay. read more

After giving some careful thought and consideration, I give this hotel a solid 4 stars. I spent my first staycation here and the hotel is lovely, despite the mishap with my card overcharges. The price is a good deal for the many amenities it offers, such as a pool and hot tub, complimentary towels for the pool, fitness center, free breakfast, and free parking. I spent most of my time at the pool and hot tub. The hotel room was very clean, provided with extra towels, a mini coffee station, microwave + fridge, and tv with some premium channels. The AC was very silent unlike other hotels, where the AC will blast loudly. I slept comfortably both nights. Unfortunately, there were some issues with overcharges to my card which I wasn't happy about. There was a gentleman with glasses, I forgot to get his name and Steve whom did their best in trying to resolve this issue. So I appreciate their help and accommodating to me! Also, thank you to Valerie, the manager who went above and beyond and resolved the issue immediately. She also provided me a free 2 night stay in the future. It really turned my day around and I enjoyed the rest of my trip. I'd like to give this hotel another try. read more

This hotel is obviously not up to the standards associated with the traditional Hyatt hotels. However, in all fairness, I think it's only fair to judge this place in relation to how much they charge you to stay there. I was able to snag an especially good deal for an overnight stay which was vastly cheaper than anything I would have paid at a regular Hyatt. This hotel is somewhat dated but it is clean and well taken care of, so I really have no complaints. They use bright colors throughout, including a bright yellow througout the hallways. I thought this was kind of gaudy. Breakfast is also included in the price of the room. The breakfast offerings were quite minimal, but did serve the purpose. Parking is also free. read more

I used to stay here frequently when the rooms were much less expensive. It is now affiliated with Hyatt and has become more expensive by far with no upgrade as far as I can see of the property other than the lounge and lobby area being updated that being said they did not take The time or money to add an elevator, which was a serious mistake. You have to walk really far with your heavy suitcases to get to your rooms sometimes. There are confusing interior corridors. The rooms are nice, but they have not been updated in many years. The beds are not very comfortable this particular visit. I had a new staff person who was quite rude last time. The staff person was unable to figure out my credit card so that made me have to walk up and down the stairs several times to get to the lobby. I'm not sure what's going on with that. It would be nice to have some kind of regular staff anyway I'm not sure if I recommend this place. If you can get a cheap room it's OK if you can't I would look elsewhere it's not worth $200 a night. read more

the hotel is okay, the rooms are clean enough but I was super taken aback by their policy of only having the cleaners come every 4 days...and they never made the bed or did any actual cleaning other than providing towels. Is this what's the norm? I heard of every other day but 4? and just towels? breakfast is not good, out of the week here I tried it once. I think if the objective is to have a clean place to sleep this is good enough. Liz, at the front desk, was so sweet and helpful. She really made sure I was comfortable, even reminded me to grab cutlery since my Uber Eats order may not have come with it (she was right). The front desk renovation is complete now and looks so cute and inviting, as well as the breakfast area. The room was bright and clean! The only negative was the people upstairs sounded like they were bowling, but it ended up setting down. People walking in the hallway was a bit loud in the AM, but since I needed to wake up early it wasn't a huge issue. I would stay here again. read more

Found this gem at google and yelp. It was reasonable price and it was pet friendly. Fast service, only stayed here for one night $89 plus tax for staying here then $75 if you have pet -_-. They have pool, small gym and jacuzzi though when we stayed pool and gym was dirty but we did soaked for a little bit. Cute bed like coast style of bed, microwave, fridge and small table for working station like laptop and chair on the side of the bed. The T.V is small but its good enough for me. A little boutique oasis hotel. It surprised me that Hyatt owns it. Honestly it was an old hotel/motel and they spruced it up to make it pleasing to the public eye. I believe towards the back had regular residents living there. We went into the hot tub and the tub was dirty. I understand that it's winter and the rain had just gone by, but I would suggest to close it. There were some area with green algae in it. We were out quick when we spotted it. I've never been to a hotel and was told by the breakfast employee that I can not eat in my room. There was no signage or was I told upon check in about the rules about not eating in the room. That totally had me disappointed. It's decent for the budget, but I guess we got what we paid for. read more

This place is a solid spot. It's more like a motel than a hotel though. We spent one night hear because we're working on the towards the brand explorer award for Hyatt and also need a couple more nights towards Globalist. This spot always come up on the Hyatt app, so thought why not try it. Overall, for how low it costs normally, it seems pretty good to me. The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear the traffic go by and we were on the second floor with a street facing room. The front door is not sealed where you can see the light in the hallway come through the door. However, the room is really clean. There is a complimentary continental breakfast that comes consists of bagels/toast with cream cheese/peanut butter/jam, fruit like bananas, yoplait yogurts, juice (apple, guava, and orange), and drip coffee. If you're just looking for a low cost place to stay and are a heavy sleeper, this place would work. At the price it cost, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. However, probably not my first choice out of the other Hyatts in the area. read more

I tussle between 3 and 4 stars. My boyfriend and I stayed here during a full Metallica Weekend playing Friday and Sunday - we stayed Thursday night and checked out the following Monday Morning (4 nights in June). Many others who were at the same concert stayed here so the hotel was incredibly busy on top 3 buses full of kids in town for an academic competition. This hotel is worth the price you are paying. Period. Included Breakfast: Is the breakfast fancy? No, but it was decent. I expected bad pastries and coffee. They rotated different potatoes, eggs and pastries each day and had pancakes, oatmeal with fixings, rice, yogurt, toasts with fixings, coffee, tea, juices and apples/bananas/oranges. It was nothing to write home about but you could eat there and take a banana or a snack for later and it was okay, which I think is a huge perk. Room: I requested 2nd floor. When we checked in, she asked which floor we wanted and we were accommodated. Our room was Wolfe St side and a normal king room. It was clean and included normal bathroom amenities. Again, nothing fancy but appreciated for the room rate. However, it's loud no matter where you are. The hotel is small so you are either by a street or by a pool so you hear people. I don't complain about such things but someone would - the walls are cardstock thin. Location: Safe. I have felt more worrisome by Disneyland - this area is pretty quiet with lots of business parks around so pretty much the hustle and bustle of all the techies going to and from work. Also everything is within 20 minutes: restaurants, shops, Levis/Great America. Staff: Very nice upon check in and out - we are traditional so we do all of that in person. We did not want housekeeping the entire stay and requested no one did housekeeping. On day 2, a printed note with hotel branding was under the door that stated they were respecting our wishes and were available if we should need any tidying of the room or fresh towels which I did appreciate. Would I stay here again: maybe not. I was pleasantly surprised but not particularly impressed. I got what I paid for and I'm not mad about that. This hotel is right for the price. read more

This review is for Sean who works at the front desk. I know for a fact that I left my phone charger in my room when I checked out yesterday so I called and Sean answered. The guy is incompetent...I had to repeat my name multiple times for him to look up my room number. Put me on hold to go check the room, came back and hung up on me. I called back multiple times and he didn't answer. Eventually got ahold of him and he said the charger wasn't there. Either he pocketed the charger or another employee did. Super unprofessional and shady. Don't work hospitality if your customer service sucks. Update added due to new developments: 5/24/2025: My World of Hyatt app encouraged me to try this hotel. A friend and I stayed at this hotel, planning to possibly extend our stay or come back later this year if we enjoy the experience. The bathtub took hours to drain even when the drain lever was correctly set to drain. Dirty water sat for hours. I reported it to front desk, the representative there said no manager was around but she'll email the manager and ensure the manager contacts me, but it would be after our stay ended. I said yes, please make sure your manager contacts me. No one contacted me. 5/27/2025: I received an automated survey email requesting feedback. I filled it out. 5/28/2025: Kristen Eckley, Area Director of Guest Services, emailed me saying she saw no indication I wanted a follow-up except from my survey form... Kristen also said "10% discount was applied to your stay--bringing your rate from $96 to $86.40" which is not true. No discount was applied. My credit card statement shows the full amount of $96 + tax, with no credits. I asked Kristen where the 10% went. 5/29/2025: Kristen responded, "10% discount was applied to your rate prior to the first night being posted. As a result, no separate adjustment codes appear on the receipt. However, I can confirm that the nightly rate booked was indeed $95, which reflects the discounted rate." So, what happened to the "bringing your rate from $96 to $86.40"? Kristen debunked her own previous email. And any "discount" applied prior to my stay is simply my original booking rate and has nothing to do with Kristen or the problematic bathroom. I called corporate and spoke with a representative who connected me to Supervisor Lisa. Lisa patiently heard me out and promised to contact the hotel. Shortly after talking with corporate, I received an email from Kristen saying she'll apply a discount now. She also said the ""10% discount" in my earlier email was intended to reflect a goodwill adjustment we applied in response to the issue you experienced during your stay..." Ok so she went from: 10% discount was applied to address the problem, bringing the rate from $96 to $86.40 (pre-tax) to The 10% discount was actually applied prior to the stay, the nightly rate booked was $95 (pre-tax), which already reflects the discount (and therefore had nothing to do with the issue experienced during the stay) to The 10% discount in earlier email was goodwill adjustment in response to the issue experienced during the stay At this point it's not about the money. But I'm glad Hyatt has been responsive. Update 6/7/2025: Online transaction history shows a discount has now been applied. I am glad Hyatt came through in the end. read more

This is a cheap hotel for the area. Can tell it was an old motel and they have put nice paint and furniture in it. Rooms are big - breakfast is microwave bacon, bread and hard boiled eggs - must not have a kitchen. Overall for the price I guess it was good but as a Hyatt elite member, not to brand standard. read more

I want to dedicate my first review of 2022 to my beloved hotel in Sunnyvale California. I stayed at Wild Palms Hotel last October for family reunion. I had an excellent experience beyond my expectations. I kept extending my stay because I really like this place. It was comfy like home. I have no issues with service at the front desk. I normally would hop to Airbnb after one night to fullfil annual requirement from Hyatt Rewards. But this time, I stayed for as long as I needed. There was no breakfast during my stay. Not their fault, it was precautionary from the county during Covid pandemic. That was one of my reason I chose JDV by Hyatt. I wanted to repeat my good memory from Hotel Avante in Mountain View, just few miles away on El Camino Real. Back in the 90's, I lived around this intersection of Wolfe, Fremont and El Camino Real. I couldn't believe Wendy's is still standing at the same location. I could just walk across the street to get something to eat. My favorite Marie Calendar restaurant is also nearby by foot. During my morning walk, I could smell curry toward Santa Clara. There are several Chaat restaurants over here. If I need to rent a truck, U-Haul is right across the street. Because car rental was over $200 a day in 2021, if I was lucky to find one, which I wasn't. Uber was the best alternative if I can't find a ride from family member. Kudos to the building designer for converting a pretty apartment to this cozy hotel. There's a huge parking lot in the back with entrances on Wolfe. There are so many palms on property. I wish the fountain at the corner was functional. It would be a nice photo opp spot. Pool area was always clean and plenty of towels. CoVid restrictions were not as strictly enforced. But I kept a distance from other guests. Indoor gym had plenty of clean towels and hand sanitizer. Because the hotel was not fully occupied, I enjoyed the fast internet speed on free WiFi. I even hosted an Instagram Live event with the bed drape as my background. The housekeeping staff kept up my room daily. She knows I like the hotel's Jonathan Adler brand toiletry. Looks like I could only find it at JDV Hotel chain. I like this hotel so much. I am making plan for my next stay at Wild Palms this spring. read more

This hotel is absolutely awful. The late nite desk clerk was absolutley obnoxious and less than capable of being helpful(the big one with all the face piercings and bad attitude). Not only do they charge easily 2x more than other hotels that are far nicer, but they INSIST on having housekeeping come into your room even if you're sleeping, and have the do not disturb sign on. They're not to be trusted. DO NOT STAY HERE! It's a shady place. read more

We stayed for 7 nights. Before coming here, I didn't think much of it since it was affiliated with Hyatt. However, I was very surprised that the hotel was like a motel vs hotel. Good: - clean beds, room and towels - big window (fresh air) Bad: - tv with horrible and dirty remote (fewer buttons) - door with heavy slam, very loud every time when you lock the door - They ran out of food when we came down at 9:30am. - all outside security doors were unlocked (at all time).
