    Party on the patio!

I love wine. This is an awesome little place to get your wine on. But if wine isn't your thing, they do have some interesting beer selections for your beer drinking better half. By the glass or by the bottle, there's something for everyone. Inside seating or ourdoors, this is a great place to relax and enjoy this small town.

I have a bird in this post. Drank a couple beers. Pretty good time. There was live music too. For being September in Texas it still felt pretty good so yeah very nice.

Enjoying a glass of Lost Draw Kindred.

This is such a great spot in Gruene. We always stop by when we are in town to visit my parents. They have wine and beer on tap, many which are from Texas. Which we love! The wine you can buy by the glass or by the bottle. They have some limited seating inside, and a ton of seating outside. We love sitting outside and enjoying the weather. They have a stage outside that they have Iive music at often. It's so relaxing there and the vibes are always the best!

***This review is for the outside live music and dancing only*** As I was walking to my car, I took an interest in the Grapevine venue... it's basically a wine and beer spot. They had outside patio seating with live music and dancing. I witnessed a lovely older couple dancing which was a heart-warming sight. Lovebirds were in the air LOL. It brought me back to my college days... I attended Cal Poly Pomona, but I took dancing classes at Cal State LA (I was young and found myself venturing to different places to keep myself entertained LOL... driving a distance is never an issue for me!)... it was really fun... I haven't danced in ages... still searching for the right partner to lead the way. One fine day, when I meet my true soulmate, we'll dance every night away through the end of time to make up for lost time LOL. What a great way to enjoy the great outdoors with nature + live music + great company + ice cold drinks. I don't drink alcohol, but I'll talk a virgin margarita any day LOL. That's it for this review. Thanks for the short attention!

One of my favorite spots to stop by for a drink and to stop and relax for a little while. We visited on a Saturday, which it wasnt too busy, and enjoyed people watching while waiting for a table to become available at the Gristmill. I enjoyed the frozen sangria and my husband enjoyed a beer while live music started playing outside in the court yard. Great weather although a little warm for a fall day in October. They did have misters and a bar outside so people didn't have to go inside if they didn't want too. Plenty of parking nearby. Clean restrooms. Friendly and Quick service.

    Beer Saturday!

The Grapevine is a great place to a cool drink or a glass of vino, catch some music, or people watch. We did not partake of their wine but on a hot October, Saturday a cold beer or two was in order. The beer line moves fast and there is a good selection of local and corporate beers. Masks are required indoors while you order and the outside tables are set pretty far apart. There is a good-sized shaded courtyard with live music (on this Sat afternoon). We opted for the people watching section by the street and we were not disappointed. Like most places in Gruene everything is a bit overpriced but if you know where to go there are good (nontourist priced) deals. The Grapevine is a cool place to hang while planning your next stop in Gruene.

Great place to sit and have wine and a snack while listening to the local talent. The wine is versatile, the staff is friendly and there is always someone to talk to. It is quickly becoming my get out of the house place!

This place is really nice. They have a ton of different wines, beers, etc to choose from and a beautiful outdoor seating area to enjoy. It's covered with trees so mostly shaded but I thought it was really cool that they had misting fans going for muggy hot days like today. If you're in town and want to hang out with the girls or spend time with your significant other, this would be an amazing place to come and try something new while relaxing. Everything was also labeled: sweet, red, white, rosé, and even organic. I didn't know organic wine was a thing but apparently it is and they have it. The guy working today was not the nicest. He barely said anything and didn't really help us out much. It seemed like he didn't want to be there.

    Sangria and Peach Bellini

Came here on a busy weekend, line was out the door, but definitely did their best to stagger the line. While there was plenty of out door seating, and a live band playing...definitely still crowded. Drink wise...we got the frozen wine-a-rita - sangria and peach bellini......very sugary.. but very good if you like sugary drinks. Also kinda on the pricier side for 2 slushy type drinks after tip. You'll probably make your way here while waiting for your table at the Gristmill to be ready.

A fab little outdoor wine bar with live music and dog friendly! Great option for before or after Gruene Hall or Gristmil.

One of my favorite places in Gruene. All ages welcome. Nice selection of wines. Often have live music and on chilly nights, the fire pits are going.

Such a fun and popular place. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was hopping. They had live music outside at the time we were there. Go inside and pick your poison - you can get wine by the glass or bottle or they had 2 frozen drink options as well. Outside, there was a cart where you could get beer. They also have kid friendly options as well. As far as food goes, you could probably bring in your own food, but they also have little snacks/cheese plates for purchase as well. There is also a little 'gift shop' where you can buy merch and other wine gifts. There are two gender non-specific bathrooms inside.

This store/wine local is in the center of Gruene. It is across from Gruene Hall & Mozies restaurant. The store is filled w wine glasses & coasters (other items relating to wine) w funny quotes. They have a very large variety of wine that they sell by the glass & by the bottle. We got 2 glasses of their "best seller", the Texas Southwind Blackberry Wine & one of my friends bought a bottle ($29) bc she loved it so much. Each "glass" was $9 & it came in a small plastic cup. I have an eye for a serving of wine & this was DEFINITELY short. Our cup wasn't even HALF way full. Unfortunately, they do not do offer Wine Flights. I'm not sure why. This could be such a great addition to their business. They have a huge variety of wine. It'd be nice to try 4-5 wines & then be able to buy a bottle (or 3 ) of your favorite wines to take home w you. IMO, they are hurting their business by not offering flights. If we had been able to try more wines & not have to pay so much for each tiny glass just to TRY the wine, I'm sure our group would've walked out w more than one bottle. There is a small courtyard next to the store where you could just sit & drink if you wanted to. There were numerous dogs w their owners. (So, dog friendly! ) We chose to walk around w our tiny glasses & find a place w live music. (& find a place that offered wine flights...lol)

Because of that I don't really go out and eat, especially, to places in highly tourist areas, 9 times out of 10 you can expect, almost without exception for the food to taste generic despite at ambiance and visual appeal of the place. Tack on to that, I hate over paying for anything I can do better at home. And I'm pretty good in a kitchen. So with great reluctance I agreed to dinner at the Gruene River Grill. Like many places in a tourist trap the ambiance was good, nailed It. But I expected it. The service was good, as it often is. Unfortunately in a touristy area I don't give restaurants credit for those two pieces. I ordered the pork chaps and my wife ordered the pork medallions. They arrived at the table and immediately I began to realize my negative expectations were being challenged. The food was hot, not warm, hot. The plate visual was beautiful. Portion size, easily for two, at least the pork chops. I was sure this is where the positive experience would end. Then I took a bite. Negative expectations defied! I make a damn good smoked bone in pork chop, but this made mine seem like second hand at best. This was THE BEST pork chop I had ever had. I don't think I talked for the rest of the meal. Delicious! Beautiful. Handled with care. Did I say delicious. Did I say it was better than any other pork chop I had ever had? In case you missed it. It was the BEST pork chop I'd ever had and I just wanted to say, "thank you" to the GRG for such a welcomed and unexpected surprise! (My wife felt the same about her order)

Title: Definitely Not Their Best Night…read more I've eaten here at least four or five times and have always been impressed with the food. It's a casual, family-style environment, including the bar area, which is essentially one large communal table where anyone can grab an open seat. Unfortunately, today was completely different. The moment I opened the front door, I noticed a strong gas-like odor that became more noticeable farther inside. I mentioned it to the staff and was told a manager attributed the smell to being near sewage. That explanation didn't make much sense to me considering I've eaten here several times, they haven't relocated, and I've never smelled anything like it before. I stayed, but then my soup arrived cold and my made-to-order tacos were also cold. I eventually took my food to go. The waitress herself was pleasant, and I still tipped her 30% because these issues weren't necessarily hers to control. I've had enough good experiences here that I wouldn't write the restaurant off based on one bad visit, but between the unusual odor and cold food, this was definitely not the experience I've come to expect.
