This was my first time coming to The Great Southern Box Company and I absolutely loved it. Since the World Cup is going on all the tv screens were set to the games so it was pretty loud. There's so many different vendors and choices for food you can literally have a little bit of everything. The prices aren't too crazy either and the quality of food is really good. We hung out mostly on the side bar called Walter's because they had several screens playing the game. While there we just scan the qr code menu, place an order, and within minutes it was delivered to our table. Drinks were good, food excellent, and great service. Great Southern Box Co. is one of my favorite spots when dining with a group because there truly is something for everyone. With a variety of food vendors, a full bar, and a modern style. It's the perfect place when everyone is craving something different. This visit, we started with the truffle fries, which absolutely did not disappoint. We also tried the birria waffle fries, packed with flavor, and finished with a waffle churro for dessert. The outdoor seating area is a great bonus, especially on a nice day, and the parking garage conveniently located across the street makes visiting easy. Service at the bar takes a while at times. 4 Stars for a food hall with a focus on immigrant cousine- that should be much more bustling than it is! The space is gorgeous- inside and out! There's a parking garage for covered parking right near the entrance and it has a great deal of outdoor space for lounging and for kids to play. The interior is filled with beautiful decor and seating. It was very aesthetically pleasing and picture-ready! I arrived for a quick brunch at the food hall with some friends and immediately walked the food hall to see the different vendors. They had opened 30 mins to an hour prior, but it seemed like the place was still opening up (cleaning windows, some stalls weren't open yet) but that was ok because we were the only ones there. I grabbed two empanadas from A lo Cubano and grabbed a booth. According to their website: "The Great Southern Box Company Food Hall & Bar [...] transforms the original citrus warehouse from Dr. Phillips' into a bustling culinary hub focused on immigrant cuisine. From Cuban croquetas to Jamaican jerk chicken, the 13,000-square-foot food & beverage destination offers a curated selection of options from locally owned and nationally acclaimed concepts." I didn't realize this was the focus, but am even more excited about this community space given it. I hope to see more people there next time and to see the space activated in a big way! read more

My first visit. I really like the concept of having dinning options while enjoying a cocktail from the bar. They offer indoor/outdoor seating. This is a family friendly setting but also very cute for a morning date. Different events are scheduled here during the month. Some might require tickets. I sat at the bar while ordering food from A'Lo Cubano Kitchen. I lived in south Florida for many years and I am constantly looking for comparable Cuban cuisine here in Orlando. Chris at the bar was amazing. He made great cocktails tailored to my request. I did communicate to management staff, it was not fair to have generic names on checks. Specially if a customer wanted to give a shout out to great staff for going above and beyond. The bar does not offer cleaner tequila options. If they are looking for feedback back, I would love to see G-4 /Lalo like options for my cocktails. I will be returning to try other food options. read more

I ordered a "purple rain" from the bar that serves as the center piece of the hall- I'm not sure of the name of the bar, but you cannot miss it when you walk through the front doors. The purple rain is pretty good. The presentation was cute- I enjoyed the sprig of lavender and the tiny clothespin used to affix it to that glass. This is totally knit-picky, but I would have liked the glass to be filled closer to the top, for the price; but that is just being a little greedy! The lavender taste is very light; as a lavender flavor fan, I would have liked a heavier hand with the lavender syrup or whatever they use for that element. I also wasn't acknowledged when I came up to the bar before my order was taken. A little nod or "I'll be with you in a moment" would have gone a long way. How cool is this place?! I came for the first time on a Friday night and was so impressed by the fun atmosphere. They had games outside for kids like a giant Connect Four and bean bag toss, plus a DJ spinning music that set such a great vibe. There are about 10-12 different food spots to choose from, which is perfect since everyone in my family likes something different. The variety makes it easy for everyone to find something they love. They have a large area for seating as well as a great outdoor area with places to sit and enjoy. Opted for a burger and fries from Eighty-twenty and it was good. There are SO many options here that the whole family could come and everyone can find something to eat. There is a large bar in the center that has a lot of options, but I went with the espresso martini. The great southern food box is one of my favorite places in Central Florida. It serves as a community gathering space, a third space and an awesome place for events and parties. Whether you're looking for a place to work and enjoy coffee or you're bringing the whole family out for a meal. It's a perfect space. My process is to always walk around and see any new places that are there and check for new menu items. After doing my little recon mission, I pick what looks the most appetizing that day. I love variety and I love having options so it's always nice to go to a food hall like this. After I got a meal at my favorite Jamaican place. They have awesome build your own bowls and it cost around $20. Afterwards, I walked around a little bit and got myself a matcha latte. What's nice is everything is in proximity and you're able to get amazing service without having to drive somewhere else. You're usually dealing with business owners or the same faces that work there all the time and it's nice to know where you're eating. I ended my journey by going to the new tavern to check out some college basketball and then I just sat out on the lawn to relax and people watch. I love the easy access of the large parking garage right across the street so you don't have to spend so much time looking for parking like others in the area. Happened upon this little gem of a spot by happenstance while looking for something new for dinner. Chased a hamburger joint down and were pleasantly surprised to find way more options available at this unique little spot. The outdoor space is phenomenal and I could immediately imagine a double date night here or celebrating an occasion with a larger friend group. There are tons of great food options indoors. I absolutely love coming here because it's literally across the street from my apartment building. They host so many events. Super family friendly! First time at this establish and I love how modern it looks inside. As soon as you walk in the have a water station with ice cold water which is great after being outside in the hot sun. They have many food options such as Thai, middle eastern, Jamaican, Brazilian, Mexican, and burgers with wings too name a few. I was here for lunch and to attend an event that a coworker was putting on, and I have to really love the entire vibe of this place! First huge win in that there is a whole parking garage which means no fighting for parking spots! When you walk up there's a grassy area outside where people were playing games, and there was also an outdoor yoga session going on. Inside you have the food hall that has a bar in the middle and various types of restaurants along the outskirts. After doing a lap I decided to order from the Cuban spot and got some tostones with chicken (YUM), and an order of the queso frito! Once my order was ready they sent me a text so I could pick my order up promptly. The sauce with the queso frito (I want to say it's a guava sauce) was fire, the aioli on the chicken paired well with the tostones and kept the meal nice and flavorful! The only downside during my visit is that it felt warm inside. I'm not sure if it's always like this or maybe they were having an a/c problem. Either way I'd still love to come back and try out some other spots as well as participate in future events that this venue hosts! read more

Came here on a Friday night with friends and it was such a vibe!! I was surprised to see so many kids, but we still had a good time with the live DJ and drinks. Because I have so many food allergies, my options were limited. So I ordered wings (forgot the name of the place). The reason I'm giving them a low score is they tack on a tax to every merchant's sale and I'm with the vendors that this is causing business to not do so well. My friend and I met at Great Southern Box for lunch one day. It's a food hall with about ten-ish vendors and a bar in the center. We perused the menus and opted for the Thai place for lunch. It wasn't very busy which I was kind of surprised about but it worked for us since we were on a time limit. One thing I would have liked to have seen is QR codes throughout that bring you to the food vendors menus. If they were there we must've missed them but I had to just go on the website to find the menus. You could obviously walk around to each vendor as well. The Thai place had a good variety of options and we both really enjoyed our meals. I plan to go back at night for dinner and a drink to see what the vibes are! read more

The Great Southern Box is a whole vibe! The concept is amazing--it's like a food court, but upgraded, with so many foodie options to choose from and a bar right in the middle. It honestly reminded me of the mall food court, but way better--every millennial's dream! They have staff walking around making sure you are okay. Or need anything thrown away. Which was nice the bartender I was talking to was in training, I will say that not everyone makes the drinks the same. I did have to pay for an extra drink when the other bartender made it wrong. However, they keep things exciting with different events and a DJ, making it the perfect spot to eat, drink, and enjoy the atmosphere. It's for everyone, I did see some groups meeting up there, I met up with a friend and there were plenty of games and family activities to do as well. I'm already looking forward to the February calendar and can definitely see this becoming my regular spot. If you love good food and good vibes, this is the place to be! read more

There seems to be two Yelp pages for Great Southern Box, so also posting my review here! There are a couple of things I really love about Great Southern Box. First of all, there is a large complimentary parking garage right next door. There is also lots of seating both inside and outside. Plus there is a huge variety of vendors (11 vendors and a cocktail bar). I was happy to see that most of the vendors offer up a different selection of food, there was some small overlap, but I am glad the food hall has lots of different options. Everything we tried was delicious! Our personal favorites were the Birria Egg Rolls from Fuiyo Mexican and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich from Eighty Twenty. My main complaint is that most of the dishes are very pricy. However, the meals all tasted good and fresh, but don't come here expecting a cheap meal. We also had issues with the text system while we were there. You give the vendor your phone number and they text you when it is ready but we only got one text and we tried four different booths, but it sounds like there was some sort of issue going on. Hopefully that is resolved quickly though! I will definitely be back and I think this is a great place to meet friends and hang out. Be prepared for more expensive options, but we loved the vibe and atmosphere and all the options! read more

The nicest food hall I've ever been to! I've been to a few scattered across Florida and The Great Southern Box blows all of them out of the water. The open concept of the room having the bar in the center is really nice and spacious. I chose to go the coffee route, and my friends decided to drink at the bar. We all split up to pickup food from our desired spots and all of my friends had nothing but great things to say about each food spot. The food options are endless and the service I received at both Kebab2Go and the coffee shop there was great. I definitely want to go back and try some of the sushi spot and Cuban spot. read more

Another Food Hall for the West Orlando crowd. Traffic can be a challenge to get in but they have a nice parking garage with Free parking. The outside space is done very nicely. Inside there is a large selection of types of food. I ended up trying out the Eighty Twenty for their burgers. I was surprised when I ordered that they did not ask me how I wanted the burger cooked. I assumed since it was a pretty thick patty that they just make them all medium. I opted for the classic and it was good. Priced well and nothing wrong with it. Personal preference wise I felt it could have been seasoned a bit more and make cooked less to make it more moist rather than dry. The buns they were using were excellent though ! Garlic Truffle Fries were OK as well. Drinks were from the Bar and also OK. I am guessing they recently changed the drink menu as the bartender was using the menu for directions when she made the drink. I can imagine this place really gets busy when there is an even going on. I look forward to going back and trying some of the other stands. read more

It's an interesting concept that is a stand-alone building with 9 to 11 food vendors and a central bar that serves alcohol and a separate bar that serves coffee products. When I was there there was a violinist playing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There's a separate 4 level parking garage. I had a Cheese Steak sandwich at the Brazilian Steakhouse ($15.99). I've seen mixed reviews and finally made it in to give it a try. I had a great experience. They had a DJ playing music on a Friday afternoon. It was loud inside but plenty of outdoor seating if you don't want to be inside. The bartenders were nice and working hard. It was extremely busy and they were trying to keep up with everyone. I tried three different drinks. The sangria was the only one I did not like. It was watered down and lacked good flavor. I ordered food from the Dancing Yeti food stall. The chicken Tika Masala was great. Nice flavor and the chicken was not dry at all. I'll be back to try some of the other options available. read more

What a neat spot on the west side of college park. I love the parking garage! Inside there are so many food options. Plenty of seating both in and outdoors and definitely family friendly. Plenty of high chairs. Lawn games and connect four to distract toddlers. Bathrooms are nice and clean and family bathroom as well. Prices are definitely on the higher end but food was good. I first experienced The Great Southern Box while attending an event in their special events area, and I was thoroughly impressed. The space was perfectly designed for the occasion, with a cozy stage for performances and ample seating for guests. There was also an additional area in the back set up for mingling and enjoying appetizers, which added a nice flow to the event. I especially loved the garage door feature that opens out to the outdoor area--it created such a unique and inviting atmosphere that made the whole space feel open and lively. I enjoyed my time there so much that I decided to return for my Christmas party, this time in the general hall area. I tried the poke bowl spot, and it did not disappoint--so fresh and flavorful. The bar was another highlight, offering an impressive selection of holiday specialty drinks along with a full range of wines, shots, and cocktails. It felt like whatever your heart desired, they could make it happen. The vibe was so relaxed, with good background music and a nice outdoor space to unwind. Even on a Friday, it wasn't overly crowded, which made the experience even better. That said, I can easily see this place becoming more popular over time, and rightfully so--it's a gem. read more

This was my second visit to this location, and once again, it did not disappoint. My daughter and I decided to try out three different restaurants, and every bite was unforgettable. She went straight for the Brazilian spot and absolutely loved it. According to her, the steak was incredibly tender and full of flavor. She gave it a solid ten out of ten. I visited the Mexican restaurant and ordered the birria tacos which came out sizzling hot, fresh off the grill. They were crispy, cheesy, and packed with bold flavors that made every bite worth savoring. I also went to the Cuban restaurant and had a pork dish served with the softest rice I've had in a long time. The layers of beans, rice, and perfectly cooked pork created the kind of meal that makes you want to go back for more. The blend of textures and flavors was beyond satisfying. I also had a Cuban coffee that was nostalgic for me since I am a native south Floridian and it is one coffee that absolutely love. We have been wanting to try this out since we heard they were opening. It was a great time. They have so many options and they aren't even close to being finished. Our party had tacos, poke, Cuban coffee, salad, and an Asian rice bowl. We were all over the place at our table. It's comfortable and they have a few parking garage. The food hall concept is a love or hate thing for people. They feel like they are in a good court or they love they have so many options. We love it. Everyone gets whatever they want to eat. Great Southern Box Company definitely has a beautiful aesthetic when you first walk in. The food variety is very good too, love that they offer so many unique cuisines. We visited during the first day for the soft opening during lunch. Roamed around at first to see the options and decided to try a few different things. Starting off with the veggie samosas for $8 from Dancing Yeti a Nepalese kitchen. They were good but a little too small and mostly potatoes. For our main dish we tried Kabab to Go with a lamb kaba platter for $18. Thought it was a little pricey for what you got and they also charge an extra $1 for each sauce you get. Lastly, we ordered from A'Lo Cubano the beef empanadas for $8.40 and the fried yucca for $8. I felt these items were a little small too and come on the smallest plates lol. When placing your orders you'll give the number and they text you when your food is ready. Make sure to wait until you get one item, otherwise you're left guessing which one is ready. Also, they sneak in a random 8% tax on your card for the space. Love the space, I just feel like the prices and what you get don't match up. Just seems like this is becoming more common with food halls. read more

The buildout of this place is great, love the potential event and brewery space that is coming. I love the variety of vendors. Particularly looking forward to the Indian - Rajdhani, Nepalese (didn't get the name), and Jamaican - Kayos -- but honestly all of them look really good. I'm a long time fan of Antica, so glad to have them closer to me. We did Rajdhani to go and everything was packed well and when we got home we devoured it. PARKING! I think this is going to be the #1 reason it's going to do much better than the YARD ... there is a free parking garage with plenty of spaces. Brand new food hall space in The Packing District! They have a parking garage on the outside you can park in for free. Plenty of outside seating in a beautiful courtyard! Once inside, you are greeted by a classic Old Florida/Miami/Mid Century Modern aesthetic. Original flooring and ceiling from the original building! Super cool. I love this style of old Florida living, feels so cozy! Plenty of skylights for natural lighting and plenty of spaces to sit. There is a bar in the middle with old Florida and orange themed classic cocktail! It offers 360 seating. There are currently 9 vendors inside the food hall. It is all international cuisine, Cuban, Brazilian, Indian, Jamaican, Italian, and American. They also have an ice cream and brownie bar! Decided to try the Cuban food. Beware the prices here are steep!! 2 bowls and 1 soda was over $40. They charged me $1 for a little portion of sauce on top of the bowl which is laughable..... food was good though and came out quick. It is all counter service, so no one waiting on your table like the Yard. Also tried the steak sandwich from Braza the Brazilian steakhouse. Steak was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. Their sauce was free! LOL :) Cocktails were super fresh and appropriately themed. The prices on the cocktails were reasonable! Tried the Rhubarb Sour and it was delicious and well presented! I would definitely come back on occasion, but I feel it's a little too pricey for me to enjoy on a regular basis. I love the Florida vibes though! My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat for lunch and we saw Fui Yo on Yelp, we had no idea that it was just one of the many restaurants in the Great Southern Box Company Food Hall. The food hall has a parking garage, indoor and outdoor seating, a large bar area, oversized board games, and clean restrooms. The outdoor area has plenty of tables and a large lawn area with seating in the sun or shade. The building itself is a gorgeous mix of modern and 1920's lounge décor from the plush, burnt orange seating and wooden tables to the oversized light covers. They also have pictures of the building and area when it was built. They have a list of events posted at the entrance, which include trivia, brunch events, and music. I ate at Fui Yo and my husband chose to get some Jamaican food at Kayos. We would love to come back one night and enjoy cocktails and food. Rating from F to A+++, I give it an A+++! read more

Just came here for a running event with a bunch of people and realize that we start an end at this restaurant. Fairly new just a couple months and I went in for the first time and realized how many different restaurants they were. So my friend told me the best ones were the Jamaican and the Cuban one. So I decided to check out the Jamaican one and just give them a try. One thing I must say is not with a lot of the food here they add 8% tax to all orders . It's really not a problem if you're just coming there just to check out the spot. But I want to say the venue is beautiful. I decided to try the Jamaican restaurant and just give a sample of the sliders and that was pretty good. Nothing to go crazy about but decent enough.
