This review is strictly about the service that we received during our visit today(Father's Day wknd) at this location. The young lady that was taking our order was not customer service friendly, nor did she smile once,and with every question that we asked she was getting more & more agitated. Her responses were short,snappy & just flat out rude! There was no other customers in the restaurant, so there was no need to feel rushed on her part or ours. So when I told her that she could be a little nicer & more customer service friendly, she responded with"I am just answering what you are asking " I told her, but we are paying customers & this is only our second time here, so we are not familiar with the menu. I told her that I think that we deserve an apology from her because we did not deserve this type of service & especially as only 2nd time customers. My 1st experience was excellent! There was an older gentleman who served us & he was very nice, informative & courteous! I asked for the manager & was told that the rude lady was the manager on duty, which was very disappointing! I did speak with a young man that I was told that he is also a manager and I expressed to him my concerns & asked him to let his boss know my concerns. He said that he would. The food here is very good & portions are good as well! But poor service will make a person not return & tell others not to patronize there as well! A smile & a warm greeting goes a long way! I will probably give this place another try, because I like their food, hopefully 3rd time will be the charm! But Please hire people that enjoy what they do & not just doing it for a paycheck!! My first visit to 9er's BBQ was several months ago and was not impressed at all. However, fellow Yelper have had very good dining experiences lately so I decided to try them again. First, I really like the rustic decor of the restaurant which looks like serious BBQ joint. The staff kinda starred at me upon my arrival, no greeting. No worries. The food was the reason for the trip not the employees and my order consisted of chopped beef, sausage, green beans and potato salad. Their chopped beef portion was small earning a 3 rating without the sauce and 3.5 with it. The sausage was a solid 5 for me and no sauce enhancement needed. My green beans a 4 were flavorful but a bit chewy for me. Last the potato salad a 3.5 was good with a strong mustard flavor. Over 9er's is a solid 4 in my book after my most recent visit. Much improved. I'll be back to try more. read more

Mid chain-restaurant BBQ. The sausage and ribs were ok, nothing to write home about. The sides... nah. Whatever they called the yams were cold and flavorless. I don't even remember the other side I got. There are way better places to get BBQ in the Greater Houston Area. Even just within Rosenberg/Richmond, go to Witt Pit or Schultzes for a better product. read more

Don't mistake it for 9ers grill. It's the next shopping strip over. Order at the counter (extensive menu). It smells good inside. Prices are very reasonable. They have bbq plates, salads, a variety of spuds , and breakfast tacos @ 7am- 10am fry or about $3. I ordered a loaded spud no meat $7.95 and one with sausage. They have jalapeño sausage! Yay!! Nice atmosphere but I miss the Swinging Door BBQ, that said this is ok bbq. I had the brisket & sausage two meat plate with ranch beans and mac&cheese (both just ok). Wife had ribs & turkey with fried okra and the rice. She felt the okra & rice were the best dishes. Turkey was on the dry side but the ribs were good. Both felt the bbq sauce was average at best. Don't think we'll be back but was the only close option since Swing Door closed its doors. read more

Stopped here for a meal with the family. I was asking the young lady behind the counter a question and she just walked off to work drive thru. I had the so called bbq once and I wasn't thrilled. I decided to give it a try again because it was close. However after the terrible customer service, we left. I likely will never return. Get better employees! read more

Get to 9rs at 11:10 am and want to buy 6 breakfast tacos to go. Told they stop selling breakfast tacos at 11am, but they have the breakfast buffet until noon! Liquid Smoke that chokes! If you are going to use real smoke then use it liquid smoke is metallic and causes indigestion! Foods ok but everything is sawdust dry. So much liquid smoke flavoring gave all of us indigestion and ended with a night where my wife was throwing up and the rest of us nursed coke and Pepto-Bismol. The liquid smoke just stuck to everything and so much was used it made your teeth hurt. $$$$ very expensive $216 dollars for nothing but turkey, sausage, dark chicken meat and brisket. Zero bread offered and tiny container of onions and peppers. Nope not returning this was an expensive lesson in really bad bbq. read more

This place is so so good! They have a new manager! We tried baked potatoes with chopped beef and pork. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the beef and pork was delicious. The food was not dried out or over salted. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and quick to get your food. The music is awesome and fits the the atmosphere of the restaurant. Classic true country music that makes you want to sit back and relax. They're working on getting a patio for outdoor music, karaoke and drinks. I can't wait! Their website says that they are open at 7 for breakfast. Tried to go there at 7:25 this morning. Two employees were standing outside talking, no one was inside for customers. This is our new go-to BBQ spot and we don't miss Rudy's at all. The meats are plentiful, juicy and delicious. The sides are wonderful, cannot remember enjoying a loaded baked potato as much as we did here. The ribs are huge and tender and in the words of Depeche Mode: "I just can't get enough." We also hired 9ers to cater our birthday event , with almost 80 folks, and it was amazing. 5 meats and 5 sides for a very reasonable price. The servers handled everything and everyone with class and a smile. We really really felt great about tipping them at the end. We loved the food, service and ambiance. We stopped in for takeout, but will definitely be back. We got brisket sandwiches, potato salad and french fries. All are fresh made and great tasting! The restaurant is IMMACULATE and cheerful. Has menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and fresh dessert made by "House of Pies"! And if you get the pleasure of talking with J. I came in for the all you can eat ribs and wings. I can definitely say the food is really good. I eat at at Pappas barbecue very often. I can say that this restaurant is very comparable to them. Pappas barbecue is always really good and consistent in my opinion and this is right up there with them. I highly recommend coming here. read more

Went here today with my son to have lunch/ordered two separate meats, sliced turkey and sliced brisket, turkey was fine but the brisket was very dried out and could tell it was not very fresh, very dry. Also purchased a pie that didn't sit very well with me and has no expiration date nor when they date on the packaging. I talked to the people at the restaurant and they explained to me they get pies every Friday from this company but there's no dating on these pies so I'm not really sure how that system could work. Hopefully every Friday they toss all, all the old pies away and put all new pies that came in that day from the company.Sadly, I think there's not enough business to turn the product therefore they are selling what they have instead of keeping fresh food out. read more

Terrible service!! I went there on a Sunday at 12:50 to get the breakfast buffet. After I ate my first plate when I returned to get a second plate at 1:20 they were no longer serving breakfast. This is a fairly new restaurant in my neighborhood I have been 3 times. First time everything was amazing. 2nd time my husband found mold on his jalapeño bread, 3rd time the ribs were so dry and chewy I threw them away.
