Being able to accumulate Que Rewards is an added bonus. We often visit on Sundays because my husband loves the complimentary Blue Bell ice cream. The servers always greet us with the brightest smiles when offering Sunday ice cream and fresh, hot bread. There is ample seating, including comfortable booths. When you arrive, you order in line, pay at the counter, and then choose your seating. They also have a private room in the back that's available for events. They've graciously allowed us to use the space annually to host the Fort Bend Junior Service League informational meeting. The room is even equipped with a TV for presentations, which is incredibly helpful. I especially enjoy the music they play on Sundays -- it creates such a feel-good atmosphere. What's not to love about BBQ? My go-to menu item is the ribs meal, though I occasionally opt for a combo plate. My favorite sides are the potato salad and green beans. The restaurant has a casual vibe to it and the staff is energetic and friendly. We ordered a 3 meat plate with brisket, baby back ribs, and mild sausage. For the sides, we had mac n cheese and coleslaw. We also ordered a peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert. While waiting for our order, we were offered drinks and their dangerously yeasty dinner rolls. Here's our verdict on the food. Brisket - the slices from the point were nice and tender but the slices from the flat were a little dry. Could use a little more seasoning. The people who got the flat raged this brisket lower than the other 2 places and the people who got the point rated it 2nd place. I finally came here at the recommendation of my colleague after she told me about their BOGO deal with their dinner. This location is right close to my house, so it is very convenient for us. The food is very consistent. I love the brisket and the sausage offerings. I'd say the sides are nothing too fancy, and only the salty side. And at $19.95 a plate, I would say it's on the steep side. However, with the BOGO deal that seems like be offered consistently, it is a great value. Their kids' meal is one-meat, two sides plus a drink for $9.75 is a also a great deal. Their rewards program also consistently offers $5 credits as well as free cobbler & cream or pecan pie with a scoop of Blue Bell. A neat thing they do here is make fresh dinner rolls multiple times throughout your visit. And the friendly face will come to your table and offer the hot bread every time they finish making it. The bread is nice and hot; however, maybe an offering of honey to go with it would enhance the taste. Who's supposed to eat that huge baked potato!!! I ordered the brisket and sausage dinner with a loaded baked potato for $18.95. I was able to split this meal and eat off of it for 2 days!! The potato was HUGE but somehow fell short. The serving size of this dinner was very reasonable for the price I paid and if you practice portion control, 2-3 meals could easily be made from it. I chose to place my order to go because I was pressed for time. While you wait for your order, you're offered a complimentary fountain drink. I always like to get the peach tea but it was barely enough in the dispenser to make half a cup. I had to pour unsweetened tea to fill my cup the rest of the way. It didn't take too long to get my food and everything was as I expected; kind of. The brisket had enough marble on it and both the brisket and sausage were very moist. The baked potato, however, could have been cooked a little longer and perhaps seasoned all the way through. If not for the toppings, the whole potato would be bland. I've had baked potatoes seasoned all the way down to the skin. Maybe it was just an off day for them because their potatoes are not usually like that. Overall, the meal was tasty. so I ordered the ribs and they were very dry. if you look at the ribs in the photo, there's no glistening moisture as God intended. Bread is free, so fresh and tastes very good (I would come here just for the bread). Cons: Sides not that great. The corn on cob was so bland/not fresh. Green beans also very plain. Portion sizes match the price. Some staff are welcoming, others look like they don't want to be there. Ambiance reminds me of Outback Steakhouse. Are there better BBQ places in Houston? Definitely. Only the second time I've ever eaten here. First time (years ago) was ok but the marbled brisket was way too fatty. So today I went in for amother pound of brisket. On this visit I enjoyed the three meat plate and chose brisket, St Louis ribs, and black pepper sausage. Everything was good, and I especially liked the ribs. The meat was firm but tender and easily pulled off the bone. Nice seasoning rub and warm BBQ sauce. The meat server person was not very welcoming on this visit. He was very abrupt and barked at the customers. He seemed annoyed and in a hurry to take my order and get done. There was no need to hurry as there was no one behind me. Beyond Disappointing. I picked up 3 lbs of smoked turkey breast the afternoon before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I didn't try it before serving it to my family and in-laws the next day. It was a disgusting over processed, water injected turkey roll. To call it lunch meat would be an insult to lunch meat. At $20 a pound. I expected real smoked turkey breast. I called the day after Thanksgiving and spoke to a manager expecting he would say that they had run out of real turkey and had to use this in an emergency but instead he told me that is what they always serve. I have eaten there many times and been happy with the brisket so I was shocked that they would serve this processed lunchmeat and call it smoked turkey. Don't buy smoked turkey breast at Spring Creek barbecue. Any H-E-B, Kroger or Boarshead lunchmeat turkey is far superior to this processed turkey roll they are selling for $20 a pound. read more

Here's the important item -- the barbeque is always tasty. I was at the Missouri City location last night, but I've eaten at least at five locations. I like that they can accommodate a large group in their side room. I also like that they'll bring around fresh, warm rolls while you're eating. It's always felt a little pricey, but now everything does. My main complaint rose up again last night. I got there at 6:00, and they were out of baked potatoes. This is maybe the third or fourth time I've been at a Spring Creek -- and not just this one -- where it has run out of potatoes at dinnertime. It had been years since my family had Spring Creek barbecue and when we did frequent there, the food was always well prepared well and the taste was great. The portions served were great. So as I was in the mood for barbecue, I suggested we do DoorDash and order Spring Creek. We ordered two 3 meat plates and one baby back ribs plate. The 3 meats plates (sausage, brisket, ribs) were very skimpy on the portions, but I will admit, it was tasty. The baby back ribs plate was portioned well. What made do this review was due to the desserts we ordered. We ordered one chocolate cream pie and one pecan pie. The chocolate pie was descent, could have been better. But the problem lies with the pecan pie. It was totally burnt and should have been served. I was totally disgusted and disappointed to think anyone would serve something like that. It had been awhile prior to this December 2019 visit eating at a Spring Creek BBQ. A decade maybe because the last visit was terrible. First sign to me that BBQ will not taste like BBQ is not smelling any BBQ. At least during my last visit, there were hints of BBQ in the air, so my expectation was that it would be decent. My purpose for this visit was to attend a Holiday party for an organization I'm apart of i.e. free food. It was crowded! The line smacked me in the face soon as I entered! I was told that I needed to sign in the group room and get my ticket before getting in line. Not that Spring Creek had anything to do with that process, but I felt bad for the paying patrons who were not part of our group and had to wait behind us. I think later on, they decided to take diners orders at the take out counter, but by then, the line had died down. This definetly could have been better executed, but as far as the food-superb! Portion sizes were HUGE! The half chicken entree is like three meals! I was really burned out on chicken, so I decided to get the baked potato with peppered sausage as my entree. The sausage was so good!! Not too spicy or hot. Not a bunch of fillers in thw sausage. Very delicious! I enjoyed the baked potato as well, which waa baked to perfection and had chives! Thank you because chives make the potato! The finishing touch to the meal-fresh warm baked rolls delivered to your table! Although it was too crowded to sit in the group room, there were plenty of clean tables to choose from outside the group room. I am extremely impressed with the staff at Spring Creek Barbeque. I walked in 20 minutes before closing and the staff was AMAZING. It was my first time here, I just moved to this side of town. They went over the menu and gave me incredible recommendations. I ordered my food to go and they offered me a complimentary drink which really goes a long way. They also offered me warm bread. I got the baby back ribs with one side lunch for just $8. Yes, for just $8!!! My lunch came with 6 pieces of fall off the bone tender, juicy, flavorful baby back ribs, cole slaw and I got lots of pickles and their roll is melt in your mouth delicious. I asked for more bbq sauce and wasn't given any. She held up the bag and said it was my order of rolls, but didn't open it. She asked if I wanted utensils and I said yes. When I got home there was no utensils and no extra bbq sauce. I was also given 3 rolls instead of 5. My total was $98 and it was totally not worth it. The potato was bland, three slices of brisket and 4 slices of sausage and of course the fries issue. I understand bbq is expensive, but this was not worth it. read more

This place is so hit and miss, but I think there is a general downward trajectory, sadly. Went on a Saturday evening and no one was in line. Not a good sign! Though there was literally no one in front of us, the food prep guy ignored me and my family for a good five minutes while we stood there in front of him. I suppose he must have been preparing to-go orders, but a brief moment of eye contact, and "hello, I'll be with you in a moment," or something, would have been appreciated. There were other employees around, but no acknowledgment or greeting from them either. Finally ordered my extra lean brisket sandwich (I usually specify extra lean, since my "lean" sandwiches in the past have been fatty). I guess I wasn't too surprised later when I had to open my sandwich and cut off blobs of fat. Oh well. I usually love their fried okra, but several of the pieces seemed to have the stem still attached; I almost choked on one bite. Also, there was ketchup on the table and floor, which I noticed after sitting down. So...unfriendly employees (except the cashier, who was very sweet), mediocre food, dirty dining area. The items ordered were: moist sliced brisket sandwich, bake potato everything but bacon and chives, extra BBQ sauce. I had the same order but my baked potato had bacon. Here are the reservations/concerns: the brisket was way too fatty, like it was not trimmed (I estimate 60% of my sandwich was fat and removed); my bread (SC gives 2 complimentary rolls) was fine. However, my Wife's roll had a chunk missing out of the roll. Like someone took a bite out of the roll. We did call the Spring Creek Manager (Josh), he apologized and stated this was a first time he had been told of such a complaint. He did ask what was needed, business 101 practices would say, the restaurnt needed to make this correct, which was not done. Purposes of transparency, we have been eating at this location for bout 8 to 10 years. We have noticed even before COVID-19 restrictions this establishment had been suffering due to quality control issues I.e., no BBQ sauce, no rolls, etc. Basic restaurant protocol - restaurant needs to check the order before customer pays for order.
