I was lured in by a review stating they had the "best baklava" and my intention was to pick up some for a ladies luncheon. Well it turns out I had not dined here yet and it had been on my radar. The gentleman serving us was kind and very soft spoken. He brought us our menus and soon after took our order. I ordered the Saganaki to share, my friend ordered the hummus to share, and I got a cup of soup. It took a bit of time but our pitas arrived first. A little later the Saganaki was presented to our table. It was alright. The hummus good. The soup, hot and full of rice and chicken. Regretfully, the baklava was a huge disappointment. They were dry on top where others I've had over the years appear to be covered in honey. And worse, they tasted bad. The nuts were going bad and had that rancid taste. I felt horrible that I hadn't eaten one the day we had lunch here so I would've known I needed to make other arrangements. read more

Zorba's is a very quiescent spot. Even though we came during what would be the busy lunch hour, there was only one other customer besides my crony and I. I had a gyro plate and I have to say that it was above average. The problem came in when I tried to use a coupon. Despite my coupon not being expired, they refused to honor it. The customer service here isn't that great so I would avoid buying any deals/coupons/gift cards for this place. Our total bill for two came out to $30.83. read more

I rotate between the gyro and chicken souvlaki and steak sharawma. Food is good and fresh. Meat is flavorful and fries are crisp.

So, I just went here with a friend of mine who liked this place. The place was very clean and presentable. I ordered the lamb souvlaki combo plate: the meat was difficult to cut as well as chew due to the fact that most of the meat was tough but equally had excessive fat and gristle, combined. Although the rest of the sides were very good: the rice, mixed vegetables, potatoes, were all very good. I had a bite of my friend's lamb shank--which was very good. Ordered takeout last night and was very disappointed. The "Flaming Feta" was more like queso fundido. Not sure what cheese was used but it was NOT feta. There were no tomatoes, oregano or spiced peppers. Picture attached. I had ordered falafel as an appetizer, to be shared but was given a falafel pita instead. The chicken shawarama wrap was swimming in sauce, far too saucy. The Greek salad was tiny for it to be over $5. The baklava was nothing but butter and phyllo dough...no nuts or syrup at all. I tried this place out and I'm so glad I did. I had the chicken Shawarma plate. The chicken Shawarma was absolutely delicious. The side of vegetables was carrots and zucchini, and they were also great. The hummus was very tasty. The service was Uber fantastic and our waiter was phenomenal with the best personality. I was in Zorba's tonight to grab some dinner and was completely ignored for more than 10min before I left. Someone came to bring food to one of only two tables and didn't even acknowledge me. I was standing at the counter and he had to pass by me twice. Very disappointed because Zorba's use to be a really great place. Normally I do not post reviews, this is a needed exception. I had the Chicken Souvlaki. Chicken was extremely dry and stringy. Two of the pieces were nearly impossible to cut. Spicing was fine, but I wound up leaving half of the meat on the plate. Pilaf was bland. Hummus was very good as was the salad. My wife had the Hummus with Beef and it was cooked nicely and tasty. I am from Chicagoland where there is a Greek family restaurant practically on every corner... and, this restaurant had by far thee best Greek food you can find in Arizona! Very large portions... the tzatziki sauce was the best I've ever had... gyros were soft and crispy... with a side of amazing sautéed zucchini and potatoes .. the pita was incredible, too! Not cold and dense but warm, light and fluffy. Also, the lemon chicken soup was the Best I've ever had anywhere! I made the classic move of getting my lunch. I cooked the night before to bring him into my studio for work the following day. I looked up food near me and a lot of Mexican food popped up and then I took a closer look and saw Zorba's. I absolutely love Greek food. I went and got the classic gyro. This is the best gyro I've ever had! I spoke with the main chef several times now, and he's shared with me that everything is home-cooked, even the pita! I have no stomach pains or bloating after I eat the food from here, coming from someone who has an extremely sensitive digestive system.the lamb meat is incredible. We are on our second visit to Zorba's. Our first visit was great so we came back. It was great again, we come in for lunch on NYE. The owner was working with who I think are his children. Everyone is so nice and kind. You can taste the love they put in the food. The first time we have the mushroom app (not pictured) and a gyro with a side of potatoes . That meal was great. 1st time to visit Zorba's since the pandemic, maybe 6yrs ago. We had seen that Zorba's was on clipp (local flavor) so we purchased one and went for dinner. The manager/owner (presumably) was the only one working the tables, there was only 1 other couple, so not busy. He was polite but behavior was a bit off. The food (gyro, calamari, greek meatballs) were excellent. Upon paying the bill, this guy serving us suddenly became offensive. He complained about us using a Clipp discount and accused us of using one at this restaurant the week before. He took our card, said it was OK, just that it should be for new customers only. I told him he was mistaken and asked why he would talk to a customer like this. Eventually he said maybe I look like someone who came last week, and then it changed to "I'm just tired"....none of which came with a "sorry" or an apology. He was beyond rude to me and my wife. I'm not sure how Clipp totally works, but I'm pretty sure it is voluntary. If he doesn't like people using it, he should cancel his contract with them. If you don't have a Clipp and want good Greek food, then try Zorba's. If there was a rating separately for the food and service, the food would be a 4 or 5 star. If you have any type of discount and want to risk being offended, then try Zorba's. He claimed we had been there a week ago using a discount. He lost a customer. read more

The food is amazing!!! I wish they were open Sundays because I would be there right now! I sat in the bar and had the best service! I got the beef shawarma pita wrap and it was delicious, very juicy and full of flavor! The garlic hummus was prob the best Ive ever had also! I have passed by here too many times. My friends who don't know food liked it but I thought, "what do they know?" This place is located in a plaza and has an irregular shaped interior. When wwe arrived there were a few regulars. One end consisted of a large bar area that may be more popular on weekends? I went with a group of 6 and when we arrived, ordered gyro, chicken shwarma and one burger. My friend broke the rule of ordering a non-cultural and non-genre specific food. The waiter didn't ask her how she wanted it cooked and it arrived very well done. and dry. A good rule to remember is to not order outside the specific specialties of the restaurant. On the other hand, the chicken Shawarma was tender and accompanied by vegetables, rice and small cuts of bread. The hummus was smooth and had good flavor and consistency. Our friends who were with us used them to later cater an event of 70+ people and the food was still quality and the baklava was outstanding. They had chicken shawarma, salad, hummus, and steak kebobs. If you want a decent Mediterranean meal, I would stop in here. read more

Im usually driving when I go here so I haven't enjoyed the libations however it appears a full bar with bottle service is available. I prefer the Greek menu the Greek salad is phenomenal. The service once again is impeccable. Always very personable experience which I love; as it appears most of their business comes by way of delivery and takeout. They have 3 TVs for your entertainment however they are selectively placed as to not be a distraction if your not interested. My favourite Greek restaurant in the east valley. yikes! let me start with, I really wanted to like this place...but unfortunately it was pretty brutal From the get go. The temperature inside was almost hotter than outside and this is Arizona in August. We started sweating immediately! We ordered togo. Took 45 minutes for someone to come to the table to ask us what the order was again. Another 30 minutes go by and We get the food. A basic gyro plate, a personal pizza and side of hummus. We arrive home to eat and the bbq pizza had a sour rotten smell that filled the house. It was NOT right! One of my former employees loved Zorba's and sometimes treated us. I remember us all loving it but for some reason I forgot about it after I left that company a decade ago... that is, until the other night when my friend ordered dinner there. Oh. My. Word. So good. TBH, I have no idea what dish she received. There was lamb (which she described in sensual terms that are not appropriate for Yelp lol) and some rice. There was also naan bread, hummus, babaganoosh, and baklava. I generally am not much of a meat eater, so I didn't try the lamb, but the rice was amazing. I do, however, love hummus. I don't know how to describe this - everyone in our group was saying it was better because it was made fresh... well, yes, but there's something more to it that I can't put my finger on... something about the way it's seasoned or spiced that makes it the absolute best I have ever had. I could live off that stuff. lol I see another reviewer giving the baklava a hard time. Baklava is my absolute favorite dessert. I don't normally eat sweets, but that's one item that I will almost always try. I didn't have the same experience the other reviewer did. It was freaking delicious. It actually seemed a little lighter on honey than I'm used to, and again, there was something different about the spice... a little bolder somehow, but not overpowering. It was like "grown up baklava" if that makes sense. Lol I'm not a foodie. I wish I could describe it better, but this was absolutely the best baklava I've ever had. This was not our first visit here. As the name indicates they do Greek food. The food is good. This time we had steak shwarma and a gyro pita. The steak shwarma was very oily, dripping from the bread as one tries to bite. But it had very good flavor. My gyro pita was a bit salty, but good. The fries were perfect. Generous portions, and sufficiently attentive service. The pricing is a bit higher than some, but if you have a discount certificate (such as restaurant.com or dining advantage) it's pretty reasonable. read more
