I brought my boyfriend here even after I read some not-so-bueno reviews. Never again. Their chips were good and their outdoor chairs were pleasant, but that's about it. Moved to the area about three months ago from SF. The thought if finding a good burrito place in Pacifica was a distant thought. That said, this place is pretty damn legit. Things actually taste like food! Not greasy, not spicy for the sake of spicy, but actual flavors. The best thing here are the chips. You have to try the Breakfast burrito's. They are huge and yummy. Also compared to the other 5 places to get burrito's in Pacifica their Carne Asada supers blow the other places out of the water. Also alot of the time they have special stuff thats not on the menu. Keep an eye out for deserts and drinks. Everything is hand made from their amazing head chef Rebecca. This burrito place has a tiny seating area and is loud, so it really only works for takeout orders. The ingredients are good, but the grill can tend to get greasy later in the evening. I went to the Green Enchilada on July 7, 2020. The food was ok, but I was overcharged by $2.00 for my two tacos. The menu sign indicated that the chicken taco was $5.50 and the carne asada taco would cost $6.45. I was charged $6.50 for the chicken taco, and $7.45 for the carne asada taco. I did not notice the overcharge until after I was rung up. Once I told the cashier about the mistake, he told me that that was the way it was in the computer register, and that he could not change it or refund my $$. Really liked this place. I went for lunch and got the fifty/fifty carnitas enchiladas, one with tomatillo sauce and one with red. Both very tasty and fresh. The pork was tender. I also got the red pepper and corn tamale. Different then most tamales. This one wasn't dried out at all, instead it was soft and moist and reminded me of more of a polenta then tamale. Pretty good. I dock this place a star because of the limited seating and table room. They also leave the door open during business hours too, which is fine, but it gets a little drafty inside. This is one of those times where I wish I could just post some comments about an establishment but not actually rate it because I didn't eat their food. Why didn't I eat their food? Because apparently, a whole page of their menu online (the Breakfast menu) does not exist at the actual location. It wasn't on the menu on the wall, nor was it on the paper menu they had. We asked if they still had a breakfast menu, and they said "oh, we do a breakfast burrito". I guess that's fine, but when your online menu promises huevos rancheros, tortilla scramble, poached eggs, red chilaquiles and fruit, a breakfast burrito is disappointing. I had a disturbing experience here tonight. I ordered the rotisserie chicken meal. Before completing my order, the lady calls the cook over and they both glance down towards the floor. I didn't think anything of it except that it was kind of rude. I am watching the cook make my wife's burrito when I glance over and see the lady grab a piece of chicken out of a container on the floor near the register. She goes in back then comes out with a 1/2 chicken and sticks it in the deep fryer for 30-60 seconds. (Apparently to warm it up.) I had just looked at a text message and turned away for a second, but was pretty sure as to what I saw. But wasn't positive enough to make an outright accusation. Next thing you know my order was ready. I asked her specifically if she put my chicken in the fryer. She said "No, it's rotisserie." At no time during this process did I see a fresh rotisserie chicken of any kind. Sure enough, I get it home and it is completely dried out and not even warm. Just horrible. I go back immediately to return it. The lady who lied to me wouldn't make eye contact with me and would not even come to the register. She sends the cook over, who gives my money back with no argument whatsoever. They both know what they did. I asked him if they even had any fresh rotisserie chicken. Nope. No answer. No nothing. Yesterday, on my way home from work, I was starving and couldn't quite wait to get to LInda Mar for some dinner so I decided to give The Green Enchilada a try. This is my new, go-to Pacifica place for burritos. I got the al pastor burrito and it was delish! Granted, it didn't taste like the traditional al pastor but the pork still had a really nice flavor and it was tender on the inside and crisp on the outside like I like it. This place is definitely a healthier option for Mexican food which I really appreciate however I very rarely feel pleased after I eat here. In general the flavor isn't great, and the prices are quite high. Today I got a burrito bowl with shrimp and it was basically not edible. The beans weren't drained well and so the bowl was quite soggy, which was not a good consistency or taste. Also, I ordered shrimp in the bowl, which were not good tasting, and the guac seemed old. Just seems like the food is made without much thought put into it and in general isn't very fresh. Love that they are organic but I think they need to rework most of their recipes to improve their dishes. Hate to leave a bad review but I am not a fan of this place, and have given it many chances. Great burrito and better nachos and an okay enchilada. Tofu is underrated as protein... especially in burritos. Of course, chipotle isn't helping with their shredded mess. This place, does it right. small cubed Tofu... slightly grilled in a burrito is the way to go. This is one of those places where I like the food even though it is way too mild. I was reading the reviews on this place and was a little skeptical about the taste of this Mexican food spot because people were saying that the food was bland. We ordered it for delivery... which you have to spend $25 to get it delivered. We ordered the super burritos carne asada on flour and spinach tortillas. when we got them they were pretty big. i opened up my spinach burrito and saw that it was hella green! now you know it was a real spinach tortilla because you cannot get color like that from a semi spinach tortilla like other resstaurants. The food was delicious! it was very tasteful and very filling! I also ordered an Horchata and it was really good, but way too sweet for me so I had to water it down a little bit. One bad thing was that we asked for Pico De Gallo salsa and was given the green salsa that was way too sweet. not spicy at all. I like a little bit more spice in my Mexican food. But all in all a really good spot. Will have to go there and see for myself the place.
