Exterior of their soft reopening, Sunday, May 28, 2023 - congratulations!!!

A new DINING room!!! This adds a next level for THE GREEN ENCHILADA (TGE) in Manor Plaza. If it's been awhile, go by and try out the dining room. There are still a few tables outside too. The kitchen now has its own dedicated space. TGE has always been my go-to place for tasty clean, organic Mexican-Peruvian burritos, tacos, enchiladas and more. One of my favs is their LOMO SALTADO w/BROWN RICE. Very grateful they can do TOFU in any taco, burrito, enchilada. And yes, I've done a TOFU LOMO SALTADO! There are breakfast options to check out as well. Service is always friendly, helpful, and, today, Michael took my order and filled me in on all the lovely changes that's evolved with TGE! Ordered: FAJITA BURRITO w/GRILLED CHICKEN, FAJITA VEGGIES, brown rice, black beans, pico de gallo. I'm happy with adding salsa verde bite for bite, and usually eschew the popular guacamole, sour cream. CHICKEN TAMALE. Beautifully wrapped in corn husk and steamed. The tamale was a very generous size, chicken almost dry, masa was unusually dense. Wondered if the latter two was the avoidance of lard and use of chicken breast in its recipe. This would make for a healthier tamale but more dense and bit drier. I'd order it again. I like picking at the steamed masa. AQUADITO. Aguadito de Pollo is a Peruvian Chicken Soup. Soup is a broth of cilantro, spices, hot pepper and simmered with chicken and rice. Loved the delicate flavors of the soup and the Use of chicken bone-in means a more nourishing broth. Perfect for our cold weather right now. I'll be back to try their other soups, CHICKEN POZOLE, SANCOCHADO (beef soup). As well as my fav, LOMO SALTADO, as well as their burritos, tacos, and enchiladas. And their famous Peruvian-style ROTISSERIE CHICKEN. See you there!

The Green Enchilada has artwork in their hallway calling themselves "Inkazteka" which is a clever nod to their offerings of both Peruvian and Mexican food. Their menu leans more heavily towards Mexican food but their lomo saltado (and pollo saltado) more than a make up for it. While so many more purely Peruvian places cut corners by using frozen fries, Green Enchilada makes in house fresh hand cut fries. That's a bonus there. The fact that they are perfectly fried though, completely makes the dish a standout for me. My mom ordered the aguadito soup, which she loved as well. If you want wide variety of Peruvian food, this is not the place. But if you want a lomo saltado with fantastic home made fries, this spot nails it!

Enjoyed a lovely dinner in the new dining room area! Food was excellent as ever! We ordered at the counter and then picked our seats. There was a table near us with a large party who had reserved their space, so that's an option to note. In that case, orders were taken at the table. Casual atmosphere, offered complimentary chips and salsa while we waited. Food came out with very little wait. Space is super clean and nicely decorated. Chairs are metal with no padding, so if you have a delicate hiney, keep that in mind ;) The staff and owner were super attentive and excited to talk about the addition of new Peruvian dishes in the coming days. So fun to see the excitement in the dining room from staff and patrons alike. We will be going back soon to try all the new additions to the menu. Excellent job! And congratulations to a lovely expansion!

Wanted to grab something quick and yet good. We ordered: Carne Asada and hubby ordered: steak taco meal. I also ordered a drink, guava juice. Our meal was very good. Not salty at all. The guava juice was so fresh and good. I would definitely come back again and try something different. Our server was super awesome too. And there was plenty of parking at this little mall which is a plus.

    Background

Food: the soup is decent, but I like the ship the most. Their ships are bake and crispy. The green sauce also good. Service: their service is excellent. Server always ask what do we need and they bring everything we ask with a smile. I love their service worthy of tips. Ambiance: very Maxican atmosphere. Chill and vibing.

It was a cold, rainy day so I ordered their seasonal bowl of authentic pozole that came with freshly heated corn tortillas, a side of herbs if desired, and tortilla chips. it was fresh, hearty, and very good with plenty of chicken. They had a variety of foods on the menu and a nice dining environment.

Breakfast Burrito wet style with green sauce.

We shared the wet style breakfast burrito. It was a huge portion with fresh ingredients. I liked how they chopped up fried eggs instead of scrambled as well as the crispy potatoes. Sauce went perfect with it. Service was great, friendly and attentive staff. They've remodeled since we were last here and I really like what they've done with the place. A nice dining hall with plenty of space.

Whenever I'm in Pacifica visiting friends, we most often include a meal from here. Everything I've eaten looks great and tastes even better! I'm so happy they were able to expand and now have seating. Congratulations!

Visited the Green Enchilada again and was very pleased with my return. The server Micheal was very helpful and professional. My family loves to eat at the Green Enchilada. Try it and you'll see why we return again and again. Really delicious, high quality food that is always tasty. Their special of the day was Chicken Pozole and it tasted like how it should be - homemade and fresh.

Cheese enchiladas with red sauce, rice, and beans

My girlfriend and I went here on a weekend afternoon and had a wonderful lunch. I had cheese enchiladas with red sauce, and rice and beans. Every part of the meal, including the chips, was delicious. The flavors and texture of each component were memorable. I really liked the green sauce that came with the chips. Not sure if that's what also used on a green enchilada (I was just too much a creature of habit to step outside my comfort zone with the enchilada sauce). I also thought the presentation and dishware to be exceptional. We dined outdoors because we had a dog with us. Even though it is in a strip mall, it didn't have that feeling, and there is a wide, covered walkway so we had shade with plenty of space around us. The staff was friendly and patient. And finally it's all reasonably priced given the quality and the area. Afterwards we took the dog to the beach which was just a seven-minute walk away. I'm sure we'll be back. I would just ask them to make sure the cheese inside the enchilada is completely melted, as that is my preference, but I can't really ding them. They accommodated my request for flour tortillas and if I remember correctly at no extra charge.

Like not even ranch, salsa & dipping in chicken broth when I got home could aide in the quality of their carne asada. Upon trying their Lengua & chicken, not much better. I had an indigestible HARD piece of something (plastic?) in my burrito once. It's not like I just gave this taqueria a one and done review, I've been a customer since 2015. And let me tell you, 2015-2022 they were banger!! Salsa bar was amazing. Now I'm pretty sure they charge you per salsa container. I'm sure my nostalgia plays a part in this low rating but Taqueria Pacifica doesn't stand out the same way El Grano De Oro did... Too bad. Service is standard. Nothing special. Food is ready relatively quick, so if you order to-go... get there early! The ambiance is very much a to-go vibe even though there is a plethora of indoor seating as well as a picnic table for seating outside. Tacos are pretty good here, but I did find bits of shrimp in my al pastor! I don't think I'll be coming back here unless I need to refill my water bottle.
