Parking: Valet only $60 overnight Concierge and receptionist table is very simple and 1 person helping only, she is Super duper sweet and helpful. She checked us in, and since we booked via Amex, we received complimentary: - Suite upgrades - early check in - guarantee 4pm check out - daily breakfast for 2 - In room wifi - and $150 resort credit apply for restaurant, spa etc. This place has a e-bike, paddle board an surf board for guests to use anytime complimentary. If you happened to stay in 2nd floor, which they only have 3 floors, where Vaga restaurant is, to find your room is kinda tricky. Look at the signage and the room are through the double door, on your left when you face the restaurant. It requires your keycard access to enter through the double door. The room is so relaxing, the vibe is comforting. It has complimentary coffee, nespresso tea and bottle water. You can ask for more water at concierge. Look at the real life I believe eucalyptus stem on top of the shower head, love it. There's also a gym and spa in 1st floor, also access to beach. We asked for recommended restaurant around the area, she gave a 4 pages list of restaurant and little shops 2nd floor - has venue area with spacious gathering area and balcony overlooking the beach. Evening: you can enjoy cocktails on VAGA restaurant overlooking the beach with outdoor fireplace and patio. Fyi: the room has thin walls. We can hear ppl talking, walking, running on hall way every moment. So on our final bill: They comp all our daily breakfast including tips and room service delivery. They automatically deduct $150 resort credit regardless you spend under. It will apply to any other fees. Like it because they don't Knicks pick every single expenses, that shows their reputation and their hotel guests matter over little charges. Overall, love this place. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

The area is somewhat hilly, but if you're comfortable with that, just about everything is within walking distance. I stayed in an upper-floor room with an ocean view, and the balcony was a real highlight. It was wonderful to sit outside, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the scenery. The rooms are basic but surprisingly spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom is also simple, but everything was functional and well maintained. The motel offers off-street parking, which is a big plus in this area. If you're looking for an excellent location, clean accommodations, convenient parking, and good value for the price, Moonlight Beach Motel is definitely worth checking out!

Everything is walkable which I absolutely love. We've stayed here four times now, always in a room with a private balcony and ocean view. There's nothing like waking up at sunrise with a cup of coffee and soaking in the peaceful coastal panorama. Rooms are spacious and here's what's included with your stay: mini fridge, microwave, free WiFi, free parking, beach essentials (if you don't pack your own), access to bbq grills, complimentary morning coffee, and snacks from the front desk. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms appear to be upgraded. Some rooms even come with kitchenettes. For the best rates, skip the third-party sites and check their official website directly. You'll fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves and wake up to the scent of salt air. It's truly fabulous.

Pros: Great bed -…read moreit's the right amount of cloud-like consistency that I love; you just sink into it, and the motion doesn't transfer to your partner. Fantastic shower pressure! I could have taken an hour-long shower (I didn't, of course, but I wanted to). Nice touches around the room. Slippers, robes, a record player. Very well curated decor. It's a really cute space! Absolutely lovely rooftop with ample seating to take in the views. Directly across the street from the beach. Very close to great food options, a grocery store, ice cream, and a nice brewery. On-site garage (there is plenty of street parking all around too) with a discounted rate if you book it online. Meh: Stairs to all the levels. This wasn't a deal breaker or anything, but I would have been annoyed if I had bigger bags. Cons: Our door stuck (it's an outside door in a beach town, so that's 100% normal), but it was loud to close and probably annoyed our neighbors. Their doors were also very loud and startled us a few times during the night. Teeny tiny parking spaces in the private parking garage. I wish the bathroom fan was better. The bathroom mirror was unusable for at least 25 mins after a shower because it stayed too humid. There were supposed to be breakfast pastries and juice in the mornings, but I never saw these things. I asked about it when we checked out, and the person at the desk said we just needed to ask for them in the office each morning. I had anticipated a visible setup in the office based on my discussion with the person at check-in. A better explanation would have been helpful.

After a long day at the Legoland water park my family of 4 was ready to shower and get to sleep. Unfortunately the house keeping, which I might add did a wonderful job, they forgot to add towels. I called the front desk, at least 5 times till I finally got through and asked if we could get more towels. She said I need to go grab them from the front , so I did! Once I got there the heavy set older white lady looked very overwhelmed and gave me 2 towels. I asked for 2 more since we are a family of 4. She said there were NO MORE TOWELS TILL THE MORNING !!! So you're telling me in this entire hotel there aren't any towels !!?? Find that hard to believe !! Also at night every other hour there is a train that passes by and blares its horn , so I could not get any sleep! Also at the pool there is no towels available once they are gone .

We stayed for a few nights during our home fumigation and after comparing just about every motel/inn around the Encinitas and Carlsbad area, I'm really glad we settled on this one. Pros: it is clean! That's not to be confused with showing its age, because it absolutely could use a facelift, but the cleanliness was there. It's convenient! Right by the freeway and yet close enough to downtown Encinitas to walk to dinner or shopping. Conveniently located right across the street from Lazy Acres, a laundromat, Mexican food, and Mr. Peabody's bar and grill. It has a nice little gym. Was there some dust? Sure but the equipment and weights did the trick, and the small gym had a little patio to stand on during cool downs. NO added cost to park cars! Some hotels were asking for $30-40 per night per vehicle and this place had the cost covered in the standard $15 hotel fee. Park as many cars as you'd like. Come and go as you please. The parking lot felt safe, and as a woman making several trips to my car in the evening I felt just fine. It's nice that you're up on a hill so you do feel more secluded from any possible unsavory surprises. No hidden fees! They are upfront about taxes and there were no surprises. WiFi was just fine, though our stay was not during busy season. Continental breakfast is included! Fried eggs and sausage were very average, but grab some coffee, a pastry, some toast, juice, cereal and you don't have to think twice about breakfast. It was basic but not gross by any means. This is not the place for you if you're expecting 5 star service, but it would be a great spot for families visiting town. Note: turn down service and daily cleaning is not provided but this was not an issue for us staying just a few days. Comfy beds and pillows, towels are nice. Front desk staff was helpful when needed, and every room has a nice balcony view. The walls are thin so if you're by the elevator or ice machine, expect to hear some kids running down the halls, but this place has everything we needed at a very affordable rate. We would absolutely come back for a little staycation in the future.
