This is a huge sports bar. There were a few TV's. The food is pretty good but would be better with a beer. I ordered a hamburger on a gluten free bun. I specifically stated, "toast the bun well and melt the mozzarella on the bun." Besides there being a very small piece of mozzarella the bread wasn't toasted. It was not a good gluten free bun either - probably Udi's. The sweet potato fries were excellent. I like them crunchy and they were. My husband had crab soup. He'd give it a C-. I recommend going here if you want to hang with a group of people and have nachos or a snack and a few beers. read more

Today was the first time I ordered food here and a group of us got a bunch of different things to try and everything we ate was delicious. For apps, we had the chicken quesadilla, jalapeño poppers which you'll see in the pictures are not your traditional poppers, and mozzarella caprese. All were soo tasty. 1 star because I love the Bartender Oscar. Besides him, this place has obnoxious waiters and a manager that simply doesn't care. A waiter was completely loud and obnoxious watching the Mets vs yankee game. He should be working, not starting a raucous. Manager was simply sitting at the bar letting him be extremely loud. Got takeout from here - available on DoorDash during COVID19 pandemic. Food was great and packaging was sound, the fried foods remained crispy and warm. The Cajun shrimp pasta was flavorful, but my favorite item guiltily is the Fat Tire beer cheese dip which comes with the most perfect pretzel sticks. There's good and bad to this restaurant so ill do my best to sum it up. Pros: Plenty of parking Rarely a long wait to be seated. Lots of TV's for the sports fans. Fairly diverse menu. Plenty of taps. Decent food most of the time. Great buffalo chicken sandwich & grill cheese menu. Cons: Mixed drinks suck. They don't seem to have any alchohol in them. They only seem to have light beers & IPA's. It's very loud. Servers are hot & cold. Some are very attentive, some not at all. You may start to wonder if you just happened to be there on the night your server threw in the towel and walked out. Food quantity and quality is inconsistent. Especially when delivered (see pic), apparently when the menu says "loaded tots" it means 4 or 5 of them. The rest are just plain, lonely and sad as they surround the ones in the middle that were graced with the other ingredients hailed by the menu. Sometimes you get a nice pile of chips or fries, sometimes you get like 7. After accepting that if i want anything other than a bitter beer with my meal, this isn't the place to go, I've kept going out of geographic convenience and love for the aforementioned sandwich but after this recent delivery i might have to call it quits. The Turtle is obviously trying to compete with the likes of Applebees and Friday's etc. But they're gonna have to really step up their game to do so. I've had such high hopes for the Turtle but i can't do better than 3 stars. In fact, i would go with two and half if i could. read more

Yesterday, my family took me out for lunch and we stopped into the Green Turtle. The place is spacious and very clean. This is a Sports type of business with a large bar, a separate dining area and a lots of TV s. The greeter and server were polite and helpful. I had a burger some of us salads and the chili and we had appetizers. Everyone said that the food was very good. All in all the visit was nice and I would definitely come back. My order consisted of: Shrimp basket with fries Caesar wrap with sweet potato fries Bacon cheeseburger with fries Wings 1/2 garlic parm 1/2 mild And; chicken tenders with fries (kids menu) Let me just say, that there's absolutely no reason for me to ever order from this place again. The food is not worth the price. The wings were bland but burnt? You couldn't taste any of the sauces, we tossed more than half of them away unfortunately. The Caesar wrap was more lettuce than chicken. Fries with all meals were extremely soggy. Burger was decent but it's pretty hard to mess that up. I actually enjoyed the chicken tenders the most. I gave two stars because the food was ready when they said it would be but that's about it. I don't understand all these five star reviews. read more

An average rating for an average sports-bar-restaurant. They have a nice beer selection and what you would call good bar food. When you say something has "good bar food" you are not saying it as a compliment. The hog hammers were good, the pretzel was ok, the buffalo chicken sandwich was ok. It's a nice spot to watch the game. I'm an Islander fan and of course it's got a good crowd on game night. I stopped in for a burger at lunch and it was again below average. I've never been a fan of Hooters, but when this spot was a Hooters at least you had some eye-candy while you ate your mediocre food. read more

Service, Service, SERVICE. Last night was my first time coming to this GT location, and I know when I come back I'll be looking for Lorraine and hope I can be seated in her section. She was such a delight last night, and really made my encounter at this location a memorable one. Using the Yelp app I claimed the free appetizer with purchase of an entree, so I got the blackened chicken quesadilla and an order of shrimp tacos. The manager came over to claim the free app, was friendly, and backed up my choice of quesadilla as she raved it's her fave app on the menu. She wasn't kidding, best quesadilla at a chain place I've had to date. Shrimp tacos were delicious. What really made my night was Lorraine's creation of a spiked lemonade. I mentioned that I preferred rum so she suggested I pair my strawberry lemonade with a shot of Bacardi dragon berry, and it smelled so GOOD that the tables next to mine were peering over to see what that sweet smell was. Service was slow AF, but the food was good (for the most part). Avoid the shrimp basket, as they were basically over-fried Popeye's chicken butterfly shrimp, and were served without tartar sauce. Children's baskets were a good size for my 9, 8 & 5yo. The refills on the flavored lemonade is always appreciated. The TVs at the table allowed me to keep track of the Mets, jankees & Rangers playoff game. That'll also serve as a distraction, should the service be slow whenever you go! read more

When I knew Sparky the Dragon and Sheldon the Green Turtle mascot would be in the house I knew I had to come watch the islanders lose to the maple leafs here :(. I got a free pretzel order with beer cheese which was awesome just for wearing an islanders jersey. Not to worry you can get a free one with Yelp check in! I had such a nice time tonight at the Greene Turtle. Our waiter Zach was wonderful. He was very knowledgable about the menu items. He suggested we try the fried pickles and the tenders with the bacon dip. We loved both apps. I was surprised to here that he was a new waiter. I would have thought he had been here since it opened. He was able to tell us what we should try, but it never felt pushy. He was on top of refilling drinks and even though he had other tables he was very attentive. I honestly don't know why I even attempted to give this place another try, since my first experience was awful. So basically I was tried and hadn't eaten anything all day and this ended up being the closet and most convenient spot. In summary the wings and drinks are the only good items this place has to offer. The food is beyond horrible, I ordered the shrimp tacos which were tasteless and layered with cabbage. My son ordered the American cheese burger which was greasy low quality beef and flavorless. Who gets a cheeseburger wrong? Won't be going back here again for sure. I don't understand why this place is always packed with families and kids. The parents must come here to get drunk and feed their kids friendly style food. Amazing food and beer selection! The food was delicious. I had the shrimp tacos and my fiancé had the chili ! The loaded tater tots were delicious as well. The bartender was very knowledgeable about beers and was able to direct us to a flavor he felt we would like. Service was so quick within 12-15 mins the food was already out and the food was appropriately warm. The crowd is family friend and it can be a little slow on a Saturday but I was so surprised because it is a really nice sports bar with numerous sports channels on.
