Great place with options to go fancy and go inside the restaurant with cloth napkins, tablecloths, quiet, and super fine dining and wine! There's not too many upscale restaurants in Beaumont - this is one of them! The patio is so nice and they have bands (and an inside section with tables less formal than the restaurant). Servers were nice and nothing took forever. Will go back! read more

Update have been back several times including bringing recruits 3 times. Ryan J. Below and his long negative review is not consistent with my experience or others who mention this place. Thats right the entrees are not inexpensive. Perhaps he is looking for another kinda place and I couldnt help but notice that over half of that persons reviews are very low. I have found service good though understand as they grow they hire new staff. Have tried many of the entrees and they are remarkably consistent and in every case unique. This is a great addition for upscale choice that is also now open for lunch. Look forward to going again soon. read more

Had heard good things, so we decided to try The Grill at Calder. I'm not sure what the situation is with parking. The restaurant was mostly empty, but all of the parking in front of the restaurant was full. Overall, the restaurant ambiance is okay. A little taken aback by a higher priced restaurant that covers their tables with brown butcher paper and serves beer in bottles rather than a glass or mug. You just expect a higher level than what is provided. The chairs were clearly ordered off of the internet and not tested before purchasing. Very stiff and not comfortable. For dinner, I ordered the stuffed flounder, and my wife ordered the Asian salmon. Both came with lime and cilantro rice and mixed vegetables, primarily squash. My wife enjoyed the salmon and the Asian barbecue sauce it was topped with. She wasn't fond of the lime rice, and I had to agree. The lime was overpowering, and the diah lacked balance. My flounder was very pedestrian. Lacked flavor, and was overcooked a bit. Several bones also made it to the plate, unfortunately. The crab it was stuffed with was flavorless and almost felt like it had been put through a food processor. It's was not a normal texture for crab and there was no flavor. Overall it was a bland dish. We declined desert. We did have a fried avocado appetizer which was the best part of the meal. The sauce was flavorful and it was a nice dish. Overall it was in no way a bad experience - it just didn't meet our expectations. If you are going to charge higher dollar prices for the area, and make people order and pay extra for a small dinner salad, it should be a dining experience. This was not. The plate presentation was nice, but it was clear the colored dots on the plate were more important than the food they surrounded. The only thing we will remember about this visit a year from now is that it was eh... and we didn't go back. read more

Two stars because I like this place. It's been ran under various titles and by various owners over the years with a very similar theme. My wife and I went there on our first date, so I want it to be good. Under the new ownership, we've been three or four times now, so I think I can give a good review. The appetizers are different and cool and honestly the best things on the menu. The rest is overpriced and not worth the money. Last time there I got the pork chop for $32. For that price you'd think they could put some salt and pepper on it, or something. It was cooked nice, but bland. Time before that I got the ribeye, same thing, no seasoning but cooked well. Every single time we've eaten there the sides have been cold. The rice pilaf is terrible, by the way. And the "farm fresh vegetables" are hardly fresh from the farm. Maybe fresh from the freezer. Even the bartenders said so. Speaking of bartenders, here is a huge problem for me. Last time we were there, we always sit at the bar, we got to hear a very open discussion between one of the bartenders and a server about the hardcore drugs they've been using lately. The time before that, this was a doozy. The bartenders, both of them, were so foul mouthed it made me cringe, and I'm no angel. I don't mind if I was across the street at the west, but I'm here with my wife, at an swanky place paying top dollar for a high end experience. And on top of that, they had a very long and graphic discussion about the porn they like to watch. Again, I'm no saint, but this made us get up and leave. Sorry, but we won't be back and I can't recommend this place in good conscious. But like I said, two stars because I want to like it, plus the bathroom is clean, so at least there's that. read more

Currently here in a private room and another party is so extremely loud rude and obnoxious. However the staff does not seem to have an issue with the fact that that party of people is rude disrespectful and LOUD. Disappointing to say the least!!! read more

The food is delicious, no question, easily 5 stars. However the service leaves a lot to be desired. Our second time here and both times we've had to wait 15-20 minutes for a menu and water. Then another 15 minutes to order drinks and appetizers. Each time the place was less than half full. Took at least 10 minutes for two simple bloody Mary's each time. Both times we've had to wave the waitress down to place our entree orders and ask for water refills, 20+ minutes after receiving cocktails. Basically we spent over half our time there waiting on service. Also, when my tab is $200 for 4 adults, each with only one cocktail (do the math on the food costs), I expect for the wait staff to offer to box up any to go plates. I typically don't do to go but my elderly in-laws do, it speaks mid-fare chain restaurant service when to go boxes are thrown in the middle of the table and customers are boxing their own food. Also, they were apparently out of menus and coffee cups with less than half of a full house. How does that even happen? the waitress said a 10 top had all ordered coffee. So y'all only have 10 coffee cups? I have more than that at home. IDK, it's Beaumont, I get it. But if you want to be considered a little higher fare than the local sports bars like Madisons and such, step your game up please. read more

We went on new years eve. It was quiet and softly lit. Our server was very energetic and helped pick out a bottle of wine. I am not good at wines. But she help selecting and wonderful wine. The food was very good. Not salty or over seasoned, which I run into when I order steaks usually. Over all it was a nice experience. This was on the more expensive side of what we usually do. Saying the owners here could care less about any of their employees is a gross understatement .Its actually very sad being that the employees are what make this place so great. Food is very good but don't be surprised to see a new server with every visit because they tend to make "staffing changes" often without reason.
