I recently visited this Saltgrass, and I can confidently say it was the best Saltgrass experience I've ever had--and I've been to quite a few locations. From the moment we walked in, everything was on point. The restaurant was spotless and well-maintained, which immediately set a great tone. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. The food truly stood out. Everything was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. You can tell the team here takes pride in what they do. Overall, this location delivers on every front: great service, great food, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Disappointing. Out of town from Ohio and was looking for a "Texas Steak". Arrived on a Sunday at 5pm to an empty parking lot. We were told it would be a 15 min wait. The restaurant was at 1/4 capacity and should have been a red flag. Ambiance was Texas cliche and forgettable. When the hostess did take us back, the tables had not been bused yet? We ordered the fondeaux appetizer and drinks. I ordered a ginger ale, they gave me ginger beer without telling me. My mother in law ordered a mango margarita that came with no mango. Fondeaux was ok. We received our food at 630pm (1.5hrs after arrival) The porterhouse I got was seasoned and cooked to the correct temp but my Mac and cheese was cold and hard in some spots. It was not good even when it got replaced...school cafeteria quality. My wife's dish was scalding from the heat lamp and was dead. Our friend that ordered her steak med rare couldn't eat it because the toppings and steak itself were cold. Timing was definitely off. Service was not at a standard I would have expected. My "ginger ale" never got refilled and when I asked for it to be filled the waitress put in water? When the bill came we had an extra ribeye added to our bill and was missing a pasta dish for some reason, but they took off $120. Meal was still $111. Not worth it, even with the price drop. I am very impressed. First time here and the menu was not too overwhelming. Had a bit of a wait to sit a table for two, just about 15 mins which was very reasonable at 6:45 pm on a week day. The food was amazing. I started with the soup of the day (potato soup with bacon) with some of the signature bread which was very warm and fresh with a very soft butter. What can I say. I don't know what's going on with this Saltgrass. A friend of mine said he ordered a ribeye steak last week and when he got it it was very thin. So tonight we were going to order the ribeye, but remembered about them being thin. We asked the waitress and she said yes they were thin now and didn't know why. So I ordered the bacon wrapped filet , medium and fried shrimp. My husband ordered the t-bone. When I got mine it had been cut in two lengthwise like that's how they checked to see if it was medium. The bacon was grey. The shrimp was too bready.Husbands T-bone was ok, but he had wanted a ribeye. I don't understand how this place has gone down so much. It's way too expensive for what you get and especially what you don't get. Did the cooks quit? Did they get a new meat supplier? Because they really suck now! Are all Saltgrass restaurants like this now? We have another friend who ordered the chicken fried steak and chicken strips last week. He said the chicken was rubbery and just plain tasted bad. If you can't make it right then don't have it on the menu. No More! Mr.Fertitta rest in peace, but it this Saltgrass sucks now. read more

Thanks to some reward points on my Landry's Card, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to lunch at Saltgrass Steakhouse after a doctor's appointment--and what a treat it was! From the moment we arrived, our experience was made even better by our outstanding waitress, Vanessa. She was friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. I highly recommend asking for her if you visit! We started with the Queso Fresco with Brisket appetizer. This delicious dip featured creamy queso, tender braised brisket, pico de gallo, cilantro, green onions, and crispy tostada chips. It was quite the tasty start--flavorful and satisfying. For our entrées, I ordered the Cajun Ribeye and my husband chose the Blackened Redfish. The presentation of both dishes was absolutely stunning--colorful, eye-catching, and mouthwatering. My Cajun Ribeye was a hearty 12 oz steak seasoned with bold Cajun spices, then topped with shrimp, crawfish, diced tomatoes, green onions, and a drizzle of lemon butter. The flavor was excellent, though the steak wasn't quite as tender as I'd hoped, not prime cut for sure. On the side, the Brussels sprouts with honey drizzle were fantastic--crispy, caramelized, and full of flavor. I would order again. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Blackened Redfish. It was perfectly cooked--flaky and tender--and topped with shrimp, crabmeat, tomatoes, and lemon butter. He said it tasted just as amazing as it looked. I've been a regular here for 10 years on business. I'm given this only a three star just because of the wonderful people that worked there and great bartenders who serve me when I'm on there eating for business however the food over the last five years and the cooks have become not like what I'm used to at better Saltgrass restaurants at other locations such as Houston or Port Arthur.usually the salmon used to be cridpy, blackened,soft and just like you would make it home ....now it's like a "rubbery consistency" and the chicken is no better however the one big plus that makes it a three star is they still have good T-bone steaks and, filet mignon's and side items... I have visited this restaurant multiple times within the past couple months and every time has been amazing. Last night I attended a banquet with 40 people and our servers were Nicole and Khiriey. They were attentive, prompt, and professional. They went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of. I ordered a NY strip and it was cooked perfectly. I heard several others discussing how good the food was as well. The restaurant was very clean overall and had a welcoming atmosphere. I am a foodie so I don't like to give bad reviews because more than likely I will be back. But this one is warranted and I'm sure I won't be back. I went into purchase gift cards and to have lunch. I had $25 reward for my birthday (9/24) on my Landry's card. I found out they now expire after 45 days. Okay no problem. I ordered filet, medium rare and blackened shrimp with baked sweet potato. When it came out I cut the filet and it was all brown, no red meat to be found. I sent it back. The waitress had to agree the filet was WELL DONE. I waited and after getting half way through the potato and shrimp I asked the waitress to check on the steak for me because I was finishing up with my food. She actually told me that she would check but it had some other tickets in front of it. . WHAT!!!! "That was a send back, it was supposed to go to the front of the line"!!!!!! Needless to say I had already paid my bill $52 and left her a $12 cash tip. When the manager came out with the filet , I was finished eating and I told him I didn't want the steak. He promptly removed it. Will wait to see the credit on my debit card. No I won't be back. The understanding of how to cook a steak and then not knowing that the problem takes priority over any other orders says a lot about the knowledge of the servers and kitchen staff. Ordered online in bulk for a group. I decided to pick it up so I could earn my Landry's Select points. I requested an 11:15 pick (it's the earliest you can request) but it wasn't ready until 11:25. I've noticed when ordering large orders from most Landry's restaurants that it is RARELY completed on time. Typically, I shave 15 minutes off of my requested time so that I actually get the food when I really need it. This worked to my advantage today as well. As far as the food goes, it was prepared correctly and tasted great. My customers loved it. If they're happy, I'm happy. I'll definitely order from them again. It's consistently good. Bottom line - Consistently good food. The ability to order online makes it easy. Give yourself some wiggle room if you have a hard deadline for pickup. Bon appétit, y'all. read more

Food- filet Oscar- filet with crabmeat ordered medium. Got a sirloin cooked medium well. "Crabmeat" was mostly filler. Asparagus was tough. Green bean were greasy. The whole plate was not warm- not cold but definitely not hot. Potato soup was good. Bread was good. It was Thanksgiving day and they were sorely unprepared. Ran out of spoons. Didn't get silverware for 30 minutes- which was okay since it took an hour to get the food. Waiter was friendly but our water and ice tea weren't refilled timely. Will not be back again read more

Great steakhouse and decent pricing. Staff was friendly and attentive throughout our lunch. The coconut shrimp are decent size and very tasty. Love the sauce that comes with it. The sweet potato fries were just ok. Not much taste to them. I would pass on The Caesar salad as it barely had any dressing and not much salad, the regular salads looked good tho. The 3 hostesses were less than impressive, stating there were only 3 waiters and it would be at least a 20 minute wait on a Monday afternoon. Why 3 hostesses and only 3 waiters??? Management issues?? Anyway, we went to the bar for some happy hour! My hubby enjoyed his Texas teas and I had a couple beers , which were cold! We ordered some range rattlers and awaited our text for an available table. We had already ordered our dinner from the bar before they ever text us about an available table--about 30 minutes later! On a bright note--appetizer and drinks were amazing! Salads were fresh and the blue cheese was delicious. My filet mignon from the early dining menu was cooked perfectly tender and delectable. My husband quite enjoyed his porterhouse with A-1! We went to Saltgrass in Beaumont for Christmas Eve dinner, and it wasn't a good experience for the most part. First of all, we had a reservation, and didn't get seated until almost an hour later. I get that it's a holiday and they're busy, but why bother accepting reservations? We were seated and it took another 15-20 minutes to get a server. I don't remember his name, but he was really nice. I don't have any complaints about him at all, but by this point we'd been there almost 1.5 hours. We ordered our food, and everyone enjoyed theirs for the most part.....except me. I ordered a filet mignon, medium well (yeah, I know) and it came out medium rare. And the mashed potatoes were awful! There was half of a potato that was not mashed up and it was hard. The whole plate wasn't good, but we had to get out of there! By this point we had been there over two hours and were late to a party. Dawn the bartender greeted us as soon as we sat down at the bar and although she was busy at the moment she made sure we were quickly taken care of. My husband ordered an old fashioned and for a change I decided on a white cosmopolitan. I can honestly say it was the best one I've ever had and only usually get one, tonight was an exception. We wanted to enjoy our cocktails before ordering, Dawn made us aware that we could take our time and just let her know when we were ready. We decided on the Range Rattlers for an appetizer, large jalapeños stuffed with cheese and very large shrimp breaded and fried. The menu didn't say it but Dawn asked if we wanted 4,6 or 8. We opted for 4 which lowered the price. They were delicious. As the restaurant started to fill up as it was a Friday evening, the staff had a quick meeting to start their shift and it was soon clear they worked as a cohesive team, jumping in to help each other. When we were ready to order my husband got the T-bone with baked potato and a Caesar salad. I had so many options I was having trouble making up my mind Dawn recommended any of the salmon dishes especially the salmon Oscar which is what I ordered with a salad and Brussel sprouts. The salmon was served on a bed of fried asparagus and topped with a delicate Oscar sauce making every bite have flavor and texture. For those who are not a fan of Brussel sprouts all I can say is if they were roasted with maple syrup when everyone tried them they might be a more popular vegetable. Needless to say this is a chain restaurant in Texas so as we continue our trip through this state I will be on the lookout for another one. Waiter decided to stop and clean a table first. By the time I got the Tartar sauce my shrimp was cold. The ribs and potato soup were good. Not worth the $54.41.
