When the bill arrived, I reviewed the screen and the 20% tip was pre-chosen. While I thought it was a little strange, I actually thought our server did BETTER than 20% so I gave a custom tip just above 20%. After leaving and walking a few blocks, we heard a man yelling and turned around to see our server. He was verbally accosting us blocks from the restaurant for NOT leaving a tip. Startled, I went back and was met by an agitated server demanding a tip. Confused, I went with him and fixed the error, but this was embarrassing not truly my fault. I was made to feel like a criminal. The iPad was impersonal and confusing because the tip did not stick. The establishment needs to DO BETER for both their customers and their employees. The iPad was a problem and the lengths this server had to go through for a living wage was unacceptable.
