Stopped here for a bite I had the wheat pancakes turkey sausage and scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. Wasn't bad the pancakes were a little heavy but still good. My wife had the gluten free pancakes with bacon at first she came out with bacon that looked like it has been sitting a while but then she brought out fresher stuff again these pancakes were a bit heavy. The food is absolutely delicious I for one am addicted to the crab nachos. Service can be chaotic at t times especially when the elderly disabled that come on a bus then even if you called your order in like I have you will still be waiting for awhile til they clear them out... FYI the old bittys get rude even push you with their wheel chair when your tryin to pay for your order... First breakfast here and it WON'T be the last! Couldn't sleep this morning but it did us well to get a head start today. Hubs and I went on an early, humid stroll in the park, to then take on breakfast. He was delighted by the surprise of a diner and me initiating the suggestion (as by my reviews, breakfast is not really My thing.). Except this diner is not Diner Breakfast! Way more!! We arrived today around 8:30am and were seated in the quiet back room. Our server attended to us quickly, was kind and cheerful throughout, and filled my husband's coffee to the brim multiple times. We ordered our breakfast and it took about 15-20 minutes to arrive. The food was so fresh!! Table orders included the Creamed Chipped Beef atop a Belgian Waffle with a side of Scrapple. And the Lyndon Benedict with Hash Browns. The chipped beef was creamy, not overly salted, actually pretty light. The waffle was fantastic. Slightly sweet, fluffy and thick! The scrapple, fried well. The Lyndon Benedict was so spot on! The hollandaise was well put, not broken not lemony, a nice accomplishment to the perfectly poached egg, with a gorgeous, bright orange, drippy center. Oozed to the sautéed spinach, well done bacon and puffy English Muffin (a real one- not Thomas's). Crisp potato bed of hash browns. This is not a greasy spoon, this diner is dynamite!! Waited 20+ mins with 6-8 people in the Diner. Everything was wrong, service, food, drinks, nothing was right. I won't be back. I felt like I was in the twilight zone when asking simple questions. My son and I went here for dinner last night and it was great! Ricky I believe was our servers name she was AWESOME!! My son got the pizza dog and fries with a strawberry cheesecake milkshake and I got the French dip and fries. Portions are huge and we each brought half of our sandwiches home with us. My second visit. Their attitude is just awful! They sent the wrong breakfast meat for a kid's meal.  The waiter said the cook made the mistake. The poor waiter, the manager made him come back and get the bacon, before they replaced it with the sausage that was originally ordered! What were they gonna do with it? Serve it to someone else? The waiter saw that I was freaked out and showed it to the cook I guess then brought it back.  How awful is it that they didn't believe their employee! What a weird thing to do. I mean was it such a big deal? My first time there they forgot a woman's ordered it took forever to get it and then they still charged her for it! Ok diner. I feel bad they were short staffed in the kitchen (per the waitress) but on a not very busy weeknight it took a LOOONG time for food to arrive, and when it did we were missing sides. Oops. Like many places they charge extra for using credit card now. Understandable and I respect that. It if that's your rule ya really need to have change in the register. I had to wait for the next customer to pay so they could give me change. So another 5 minutes on top of the already long wait for what was planned to be a "quick stop for dinner". Food was OK. No scary reason to not stop if passing through at mealtime again, but certainly no reason to go out of my way. read more

I hate to rate WQ Diner so low and I wish there was a category for rating breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This review is for dinner. Went to WQ for a birthday dinner which had 9 of us. Had no problem getting in because I notified them in advance, which was good. That is where the goodness stopped. The server we had was not all that good. At first she was on the ball, but after we placed our order, she disappeared. After a long time, and I'm not exaggerating, we finally got our dinner. Most of what was ordered looked like it was prepared by a trainee. There was two of us that ordered the rib steak. It was overcooked and very tough. Again I'm not exaggerating, half of the steak was gristle. For $27.00, it was so sad. And I'm sure you are saying that we should have sent the food back, but we didn't have another 45 mins to wait to get the re-done plate. To be fair, WQ Diner has a very good breakfast. We go there often. We haven't tried for lunch, so I can't review that. But, dinner is way off the list. Don't waste your time. read more

My girlfriend and my daughter and I ate at this horrific, dirty establishment. Each waitress, young and old, looked worn and rough around the edges. They were speaking amongst themselves, so loud, about a waitress who works there, who lost custody of her son because she and her boyfriend are drug addicts. They were mumbling to each other about the usage of acid and marijuana. This made us feel so uncomfortable. The utensils were dirty, but, seemed cleaner than our waitress. Stay away, unless you want to eavesdrop on drug and custody battles. Btw, we did not stay for our food. We said we had an emergency and had to leave. read more

My boyfriend and I went for for an early lunch last Sunday and they accommodated us with a 2 person booth immediately with menus. As I looked around and everyone seemed to be enjoying their company and meals. We ordered the Turkey Club and Reuben sandwiches, they came with French Fries, applesauce and 2 pickles. Both were very large portions. The facilities and staff were clean, very attentive and efficient. There was also another individual that stopped at our table and asked if everything was ok. With a group of 5 we made our 1st visit to the newly opened WQ Sunday Feb 19 and loved it! It was great to see the restaurant so busy! Our server was very pleasant and did a great job meeting our needs even while she was quite busy serving other tables. Having been open only 2 weeks this establishment seemed to be far ahead of the learning curve. It's clean, nicely decorated and the employees are friendly and pleasant. There are many appealing menu options and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I'm betting this diner will become one of our frequent go-to choices. read more

It was really good a first. We had breakfast recently and when we got our omelette it was not done and the potatoes were cold. I thought I give them a second chance, we arrived there were several waitresses around but we had to wait 15 minutes before they took our order. Placed our order and it came out wrong, also placed a to go order which was forgotten about. Cashier ask how our meal was I told but no response. That was our last visit to WQ. read more

We ate dinner last night 3/17/24, the waitress was very friendly. The food was delicious! There were 4 in our group. Our whole group of 11 went in 3/18/24, for breakfast. Again the waitress was very polite and friendly. The food was delicious! I would recommend the Rueben and onion rings and the Strawberry Shortcake waffle. Serving size is huge. we visited at 4 pm. there were maybe for other couples in the place. we waited over half hour for our entrees. when the entrees were delivered, they were cold. the young man who was our server was very cordial. I am not sure what all the hype is about this place. not amused. the AC is cranked. I had to visit my car for a jpacket. they honor the 20% percent for seniors but they pick and choose how they want to apply the discount. we are both seniors and did not revive the discount we should have received. if a place offers a discount, game changes should not be allowed. I use to work in the kitchen and it was very hard to do my job because of the language barrier. It's not a sanitary place I will tell you that. I worked there 2 weeks and quit. The manager sits in his chair and does absolutely nothing for hours at a time. The prep cook comes in to the dish room and pours bleach all in the sanitizer water I just changed because I was on dishes that day and begins to wash his cutting board. The rest of the workers are petty and complain about a speck of food that is on a dish. All they have to do is hand the dish person the dish to rewash. No big deal , but they complained about such petty stuff. Also this idiot from Guatemala got away with so much slacking , she would sit there and watch me work. The breakfast that I had there was good but I would not eat anything in this establishment any more after reading other reviews. As a formal employee trust me, you really don't want to eat here. It's very unsanitary , I just explained one thing those idiot workers do who knows what else they do that is in violation of the health department or the codes. I don't see a future for this restaurant and after reading this if you still decide to come in, that's your choice but I would eat at another diner or McDonald's which is right up the street. read more

Upon entering the diner, I was seated quickly. After deciding what to order, I looked around for my waitress. When I received eye contact I assumed she wouldn't be long. The next time I looked up wondering where she was, she was cleaning the glass inside the dessert case while the desserts laid out on the counter uncovered. When she was finished she looked around and found me looking at her a second time almost 10 minutes had passed by now. She did come over and take my order. I gave her my order and asked for a cup of coffee with a push of cappuccino. She asked if I wanted a cup of tea. I said no thank you just black coffee please. She was very young and seemingly inexperienced, so I held my patience. I don't believe the kitchen has a toaster since my toast came out charred from the grill and very little butter. I had asked for extra butter and had to ask a second time. I ordered the Alpine omelette which was delicious. Glad to see they have Swiss cheese. During my meal my waitress came and asked if I needed anything else, and I asked for a glass of water with some lines. She brought that when I was finished eating. Upon reaching the payment station, I was pleasantly surprised to see the desserts have been put back in that case and looking very beautiful. The checkout lady clearly had something else on her mind. She was not friendly. I am learning that most places of business nowadays, only use your card for credit despite the fact that it is a debit card to be used for debits. When I asked how come she didn't ask me my preference, she said it's none of her business that's just the way the machine works. This is my second visit. Went to diner on the sign it say WQ Diner for the finer diner Well that is so far from the truth McDonalds makes better food and I don't eat McDonald's ordered the Patty melt and a side of onion rings well when I received it barely any cheese on it they steamed the onions not sautéed there's a difference and they put them on the bottom of the burger which made the rye soggy so I guess they need a lesson in condensation the onion rings over cooked that if I flung one across the room it would of broken something. My son ordered the breakfast quesadilla that came with hash browns well the quesadilla came out looking Like a burrito it did not look appetizing at all and I will refrain from saying what it look like the hash browns just like the onion rings over cooked the server mediocre didn't even introduce himself so I don't have a name the vibe of the restaurant just seems like nobody really wanted to be there which is sad I would not recommend going to this restaurant it's not how it was when it first opened up thank you once again for listening to my rants hopefully one dayI will find that restaurant that I am finally happy with or maybe I should open my own. I had lunch today, Mother's Day 2023...and it was a wonderful experience. My friend had been here with old owners. And she was hesitant, but trusted me and the reviews I read. I chose WQ because all the better dining restaurants would be busy on Mother's Day, and I was curious. The restaurant was busy, and we soon found out why. We both had had Eggs Benedict, me the traditional and she the Crab. Our servings were generous, and the chefs at WQ do know how to do hollandaise sauce well. All very tasty and generous. Our waitress was kind, attentive and graceful. Not "overly" friendly or chummy. We were greeted immediately, and our food was timely served. I am in the Interior Design business and "I LOVED THE DECOR!" essence of 1950 without the "trendy Kitch". Very classy, relaxing and charming. The customer seating was spacious, and the noise level was very comfortable. I did visit the lady's room and notice it was immaculately cleaned and decorated. You could tell the entire property was very well designed without 'the design' being the show. The food was wonderful, and the design and atmosphere were perfect. In all, well worth the trip, time and money. Definitely will be a regular stop for me. read more

First time trying out the WQ and we were impressed! The waitress brought out drinks and took our orders in a timely manner. When our soup came, it was accompanied by delicious yeast rolls and pumpkin bread! The soups were delicious as well. We had ordered the salmon and the cheese ravioli. The servings were generous ( I even took some home to enjoy later). The staff were very attentive, with at least 3 different employees checking on us. Very friendly. Today was my third time eating here. I honestly don't know how this place is still in business. Took 18 minutes for someone to ask me what I wanted to drink. Another 20 minutes to get my food. Waitress never asked me if I wanted dessert. My food was bland tasting My Pepsi was all but flat. Had to ask for my check got my check and they add a service charge for no reason. Our first time there since it changed openers and we where definitely surprised!! Great service they where very busy and we got waited on my the General Manager Brandon. It's nice to see mgt jump in and help. The food was amazing my husband has the yankee pot roast dinner and I had the French dip sandwich. Went into to eat last night food was decent but my waiter kabir (probably butchered the name) was awful. All he did was flirt with the manager, and i dont just mean talking. They were kissing and inappropriately touching each other the whole time. Yuck! My poor children should not have to be objected to a soft core porno while eating dinner. The Ladies of Spring Valley Village had their luncheon in November and it was fantastic! I had asked if the manager would make bacon wrapped asparagus for us and he made 15 orders! The only thing was it was not communicated to the waitress so she said they didn't have it. Thank goodness I asked and found out that he'd made them especially for us. That was so nice of him!
