Ordered the Yung Gripper special. The sandwich is huge, well seasoned, and tasty. Parmesan fries were good and hot. The orange bottled soda was on point It seems that the ownership are Detroit Lions fans based on the decor in the restaurant. Renee greeted me when I entered the restaurant and answered all of my questions. The food was hot and brought out to my table. The decor was tasteful and colorful. The restroom was clean and well stocked. The floor was sticky throughout, which indicated a mopping issue. Overall experience was positive and upbeat. Each customer is greeted when they come in. Great experience

Enjoying their garlic parmesean boneless chicken with parmesean fries and lemonade. Since it is made to order, if you are in a hurry, pre-order your meal. Otherwise, you can relax and play a Pac Man video game. Their food is very especially their parmesean fries and fried chicken. If you get cold easily bring something extra or you can also eat on the patio.

Gripper did not disappoint! They understand flavor and freshness. The fried catfish was so good and I see exactly why it is a favorite. Crispy, seasoned perfectly. Don't hesitate ordering that! The wings were also good. I love a good, tasty sauce that sticks to the wing and these were on point. Last but certainly not least, that peach cobbler cheesecake was the best I've had since being in Houston. Thank you for getting it right! We will be back. Plenty more menu options to try! Loved the music selection and the family friendly vibe of the space. You can catch a game there and they also serve adult beverages so definitely give them a visit.

What up doe! Very well ran establishment with very good food. I have tried so far the catfish poboy, lobster gripper, pitta, and today the sliders ALL GOOD. This place is a must try location. They have excellent customer service and excellent food.

I finally had the chance to stop by The Gripper Kitchen in Pearland, which was recommended by my mother in law and let me tell you--this spot lives up to the hype! Black owned BTW! I heard it was definitely a go to spot so I had to see what the hype was all about! From the moment I walked in, I could tell it was a popular spot because it was busy inside, but that just reassured me that the food was about to be on point. My mother-in-law and I decided to order to-go since it was packed, and while we waited, I asked the cashier what he recommended. Without hesitation, he told me to go with the catfish and the Philly cheesesteak sliders--and let me tell you, he did NOT disappoint. (I forgot his name). The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to crispy golden perfection only drawback that the size was small for the price. The breading had just the right amount of crunch while keeping the fish tender and flaky inside. I've had my fair share of fried catfish from the four corners of the USA, but this ranked top 5 & was easily some of the best I've had in a long time. You can tell they put love into their food, and it wasn't greasy or overcooked--just fresh, flavorful, and cooked right. Now the Philly cheesesteak sliders! Omg bruhhhhh these were next-level. The bread was soft and buttery, and the steak was juicy, well-seasoned, and loaded with gooey stringy melted cheese. They had just the right amount of onions and peppers to give it that classic Philly flavor without overpowering the meat. Each bite was packed with flavor in which it felt like a concert in my mouth cause I was humming, and I honestly could have eaten a whole tray of them. To wash it all down, I got their limeade Kool-Aid, and it was exactly what I needed. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing--it took me right back to childhood. It paired perfectly with the meal, and I could tell they don't skimp on making it just right. (aka that S word) Overall, The Gripper Kitchen will have a grip on you if you get a chance to tap in at there spot. The food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and the service was great even with how busy they were. The cashier's recommendation was spot on. They definitely stand out in Pearland fasho!

We checked out the Gripper Kitchen last week on a Wednesday. The food was good! We got the lobster gripper, lemon pepper wings, fries, chicken sandwich and a daiquiri. The lobster sandwich was amazing, wings and fries too! The chicken sandwich was good and big BUT I cut it so it wouldn't make a mess and I was alerted that in the Gripper Kitchen you must grip and not cut the sandwich,lol. Cute but im a need to eat my sandwich "safely" . The service was good and the owners were friendly. I will be back on a Tuesday to try out the chicken shell tacos.. they look too good! The restaurant style is sporty Detroit and has all of their good food posted for you to pick from.

I had some time to kill, while waiting for family so I found this place to eat after work due to being in the area. They are located in Pearland next to Tide. Upon arrival you understand their brand! Very clean, organized. They have self service Togo cutlery. They have post-it notes customers can write I and they paste them to the wall. They provide a red carpet experience as you approach the register. I saw a customer order the peach cobbler tacos and yeah I am trying those next. The fish was fried to perfection crisp on the edges. The Parmesan fries were not greasy and I could not stop eating them. They provide a house dipping sauce. I wanted the lobster sandwich which I will try next time as well. I highly recommend this place, I wish it was closer to the heights.

The Gripper is a Pearland Gem Great food and service. I had originally bumped into Chef Tony at the liqour store and asked him "where the party at?" he let me know he was stocking up the restaurant and told me about The Gripper. I knew I had to check it out. I had some of my boys fly in from Phoenix and thought it was a perfect time to pull up. On entering, it was very clean and not overly crowded. I ordered The Yung Gripper and my wife and friends all got the catfish gripper. Listennnnn the chicken and the catfish both fried and seasoned to perfection. Large portions and the sauce went crazy. This isn't a time to be pretty. This is gonna get a lil messy in the best way possible. Grab some napkins and some beer or a mixed drink and dive in. Make sure to roll up those sleeves too. The fries were solid and pricing was good as well. Chef Tony came by to check on us and reassured me he didn't drink all that liqour himself lol. The lady at the front gave great service throughout our visit. I don't know why I'm not here more often. If you haven't been, you need to go. If you have been, pull back up and support some of the best food in Pearland.

Ok been waiting to try Gripper for Taco Tuesday and don't know why I waited so long cuz these tacos were excellent. My hubby doesn't really like grilled tacos he prefers fried but tried and ordered two more grilled tacos. We were very happy with our dinner and will definitely be back on Taco Tuesday. Listen the food was hitting. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly how it should be. Portions were solid, service was on point, and everything came out hot and right on time. My husband and I tried this place out because of the great reviews on google and on here as well. He ordered the yung gripper combo and I ordered the Buffalo boneless wings by themselves. Collectively, we give the food 4 stars! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and I didn't bite into any nerves as I sometimes do with others sandwiches. The wings were good. Super saucy. The sandwich was delicious. The flavors together were nothing like I've had before. Husband wants to go back to try other sandwiches. I also loved how everything was branded with the logo. It was on the booths, the paper the food was on and even the burger bun! The comment cards all over the walls were nice too. Gives it a fun kind of feel. The downside was the ranch had no flavor and the parm fries were soggy. We gave the customer service a 2. I've worked in customer service a looong time so I know a thing or two. The cashier was not friendly, not mean, but meh. The person who delivered our food gave us the wrong order and when I told her about it she didn't apologize, she looked confused and just walked away. It was an odd interaction. Customer service was real lackluster. I will say, she did ask us how our meal as we were leaving was so that was good.

It's was HOT as HELL in this place. Hate when restaurants like this one charge a fee to use a debit/credit card. Include it in the price if you too cheap to eat the cost of use of credit card. You go to major establishments and you don't pay to use a card. Wait for food was extremely long. First time coming and doubt if I would go back. Sandwich was delicious! read more

I ordered the shrimp and catfish basket with cajun fries and my daughter ordered the grilled cheese with Mac & Cheese, and we ordered the lemon cake. After sitting to wait for my order I looked at my receipt and there was a "delivery fee"; I asked the cashier about it and she explained "it's not really a delivery fee, it's a fee to use your card". When placing my order the cashier could've mentioned so that I had an option to pay cash. Disappointed that so many black-owned businesses charge fees to use cards, auto gratuity, service fees, etc. Shrimp were too salty, catfish was nasty, lemon cake had a weird artificial lemon (tasting) flavor. The one star is for the accurate wait time (10 minutes). read more

My husband and I visited when they had just opened, before the full menu was available. Food was FRESH and amazingly flavorful. My husband ordered the Grilled chicken pita with Parmesan fries and I ordered the shrimp tacos. The ambiance was welcoming and family friendly although we carried-out. The kool-aid was ON POINT and the cup wasn't over-filled with ice. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this Black-owned business. The service was flawless. My only regret is that I hadn't ordered a second meal after my hour drive home. We will be back....I need to try the Catfish Gripper. read more

Spotted this gem as I was leaving the office one day and decided to give it a try after checking it out on Facebook. The food is fantastic as are the people running it. I have already been 3 times since I found them and I tell all of my friends to check them out. They are not "Fast" food but I have been able to get in and out in about 12-15 minutes. Mind you, two of my trips have been right when they open at 11am and the other was after 1pm. All of the food is made to order so if you go during a high peak time (lunch, especially on taco Tuesday, or dinner) you will likely experience a wait. However, the food is worth the wait!!! So far, I have had the Young Gripper, chicken tacos, and the Philly sliders. I am trying to get through the menu but it's so hard when the things I have already had are so good I want to keep getting them. If you haven't tried them yet, you definitely should! read more

The family and I went for a birthday dinner. It is a somewhat burger joint with a twist. The staff and the food where great. I had a Catfish Gripper with parmesan fries. All I can say is shut the door. This was very good and a 5 napkin meal. Highly recommend if you want different. Definitely on my return list. This joint has Kool-Aid for a drink. read more

I don't leave reviews very often, but if you haven't tried this place before, this is your sign to go check it out. I got the young gripper and it was genuinely one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! The store was very clean and very well decorated No complaints there! However, the best thing about this restaurant is definitely the customer service! The owner spoke with us personally, offered up suggestions, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our entire visit. I will definitely be back! read more

$61 just gone, gone, gone... April 25, 2023 6:44pm we ate at the Gripper Kitchen (Pearland) and was soooooo displeased The sting shrimp combo with onion rings. The onion rings, all had a burnt taste to them, the shrimp batter was a little hard they had a decent taste to them the gripper dipper (chicken strips) we were told it had a buffalo sauce drizzled on them but it wasn't. My sweet potato fries were all hard SMH not sure if the grease is old or and they frying it too fast. The margarita is extremely sweet. I understand. It doesn't have to have a lot of alcohol or it might be wine-based my, my, my it does have a lot of sugar in it. What I did like was watching the young adults learn how to serve and take orders. I love that they have young people working for them. They were very polite. maybe I will try it again, maybe it will be a better experience. I do pray that they last him very successful. read more

I wanted to try this place. Ordered the Yung Gripper to go. Service: you don't leave your only customer waiting 5-10 minutes at the counter while preparing take out orders. Show some respect for your customer's time. You first take his/her order, get it in the kitchen queue, and then take care of other chores. Strike one. Food: dry chicken, not very fresh bread, a few strands of cole slaw and vague, undefined, unremarkable flavor. Strike two. $15 for a rather ordinary -if not outright mediocre- chicken sandwich. Strike three. You're out of my repertoire. read more

I came here a few days ago excited to try a new food place. I was pleasantly disappointed by the food and price of it. The service was fine and so was the ambiance. I wouldn't return here to eat. I heard about this new restaurant on Instagram. I decided to take my family there yesterday for dinner. It was a hot day in Pearland and this place didn't have the best air conditioning. It was very warm inside the restaurant. We ordered our dinner and decided to dine in. My wife and daughter's plates came before mine. I had ordered the fried lobster sandwich meal. I watched several guests after I ordered our food received there meals. The young man at the registered assured me that my meal was being prepared. My wife and daughter finished there meals. So, I asked to be refunded the money for my meal. The young man at the register inquired of the manager what to do. I was told the restaurant doesn't give refunds. Whoever heard of a business not giving you a refund? I was upset about this of course. I was eventually provided with my meal, which tasted a lot like chicken!!! I was really disappointed since the owners are from Detroit and so am I. read more

Five star for service and food quality and choices. I'm so glad they're just minutes away. We've been eating there since day one! Be careful if you're paying with cash because they will add on a credit card fee anyway. Have to ask management each time to refund the difference. They know it's an issue but it's gone months without being corrected. If you're in a rush, just sit yourself down be patient as each item is prepared to order. read more

Additionally, one of the adults in our party is legally blind, and we also had a baby with us, so a few family members sat down while the order was being placed. We understand your policy regarding not reserving tables, and we were not attempting to reserve tables. We were already ordering our food, and there were plenty of available tables throughout the dining area. Even other customers nearby were kind enough to help my family get situated. Unfortunately, the employees at the register and the employee who was cleaning tables approached us in a rude and unprofessional manner. The employee cleaning tables came to our table and stated that table reservations were not allowed, despite the fact that we were already in the process of ordering. The way they addressed my family was unnecessary and lacked basic courtesy and understanding of the circumstances. I would like to point out that the employees who actually took our order were polite, professional, and provided excellent customer service. My concern is specifically with the employee at the register and the employee cleaning the tables, whose behavior reflected poorly on your establishment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. A customer service refresher or additional training on how to handle situations with empathy and professionalism--especially when families include young children or individuals with disabilities--would be beneficial.

Remember having breads, pastries filled with cheese in Turkey and Greece and this was very similar. Topped with Sesame and Black seeds with pieces of cream cheese inside-comes with honey and we put just a little bit as this bread stands on its own. delicious and crave worthy! 2nd visit we picked up some of their milk cake slices-Biscoff (grabbed the last one), Pistachio and Chocolate-all tasty and were enjoyed. Service was friendly and engaged. Excellent coffee and house made desserts/pastries. Don't miss the Bee bites!

The bo ne had the right amount of flavors with tender beef and a savory pate. The pho had a nice rich broth and was extremely large! Enough to have a second time. Their bo ne also used to be one of my favorites. However, the beef is tender but cut/quality is not the same anymore. The pork chop rice platter is still a solid dish, which is probably the only thing I would come back for when dining here.

The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the chicken pita, which was flavorful, though the chicken could have been a bit more tender. The margarita was decent but on the lighter side, so I supplemented it with a small rum addition. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and look forward to returning to try more items from the menu. read more

We really enjoyed ourselves at the Gripper. The vibe and the playlist are both great! Customer service is top tier soon as you walk in the Door!
