This was our first time having our travertine floors professionally cleaned and due to the excellent reviews we decided to give The Groutsmith a try. I give this business five stars for its work, products, owners and crew. If I could give one hundred stars, I would! I truly thought my granite kitchen countertops would have to be replaced after a former boyfriend blackened them with cooking oil. I know now that the granite may never have been protectively sealed. The Groutsmith came to the rescue. Apparently the near-magic poultice that is used by this company lifted the oil out of the rock surface even though the granite was installed 25 years ago. My countertops are now clean and beautiful. After the cleaning, a seal was applied to protect the surface for a couple of years. Jan, one of the owners, was delightful to work with. Her crew was professional and had many years of experience cleaning surfaces. The price was less expensive than I anticipated, and the result met all my criteria. I called Groutsmith of San Diego, located in my home town of San Marcos at (858)779-1446 last week and am thrilled with the results. They were very professional, returned my calls promptly, and Jan came out and spent more than an hour with me looking at my tile and discussing in detail the services I wanted and picking grout and sealing materials best for my existing tile and grout. I've had my ceramic tile floors for nearly 20 years and there was much worn, even missing, grout in the high traffic areas, a few cracked tiles (under refrigerator and near sink), and some very deep dirt in the grout in the bathroom that had always been used by the kids. Someone came out on Monday and fixed and repaired the grout and replaced several broken tiles (thank goodness I kept the extras). Today, three gentlemen came out and scrubbed the tile, cleaned the grout, and then sealed the grout with a tinted resin seal that will last for years with all the grout restored to the same shade and like-new condition. They arrived early, were very polite and professional, and left everything in good condition. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. They are not cheap but I consider their charges quite fair $825 for repairing/replacing grout and tile, cleaning, and sealing in two bathrooms, one washroom, one kitchen, and the family room. It's way cheaper than a new floor and looks great. I'm going to try to attach a picture of the family room floor. After my bad experiences twice trying to hire someone to do the job, I am really pleased to recommend Groutsmith San Diego. read more

It was my first time working with this company and it was a real pleasure. I spoke to Jan and described what I needed - to correct a seriously botched caulking job on a shower pan. When I got my porcelain tile floors installed I didn't realize that the grout hadn't been sealed. When the pandemic started I spent a lot of time trying to clean the grout in my kitchen to no avail. Five stars is definitely not enough to show our appreciation! We recently closed on a new construction home in San Diego. Since this was the first time we bought a new construction home, we didn't know anything about sealing tiles and groutlines as well as applying protectants to our kitchen and bathroom quartz countertops. We have 3.5 bathrooms, a laundry room, and a large kitchen so this was a big job. My master bath floor looks better than new! This house is only two years old but the grout in the master bath tile floor never looked white like it was supposed to. Grant came out and assessed what would be need to be done to get it to match the wall tile (wall and floor tile are the same) with the wall tile having bright white grout. He gave me an estimate with a range of prices based on the work that may need to be done. He and his assistant worked for 5 hours and the results are amazing!
