We went last night, they had a good crowd; it was 50% off any wine...we loved that. Cute place, we were hopeful. The meatballs were good, nice and tender, their sauce is quite good. The garlic knots were dry, not much oil and they needed more. We shared lots of things; the shrimp francese..the shrimp were a nice size, box pasta, and short on flavor. The chicken pesto pizza, really dry and lacked any flavor. We also had the penne a la vodka with shrimp, my husb thought it tasted like tomato soup made with cream. The dessert was chocolate pasta fried, stacked with whipped cream, looked pretty, not great. They must've not planned for wine Wednesday, it took over an hour and a half to get food, got there at 630 and were there till almost 9p, kinda lengthy for pizza and pasta from a box. They were apologetic abt the kitchen delays, i applaud how they handled it, came over multiple times and didn't hide out or avoid. They want a credit card for a reservation, we gave that, there's a $ penalty if u don't show and they adv that u must be done ding by 8p for others. First off I thought the service was very good except we ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress came back to advise us that they were out of the selection and she recommended another bottle advising us it was more expensive but since it was the last bottle she would charge is the same price as the bottle we originally pick. We didn't notice until we got home that she charged use the higher price. Since we were 2 couple we shared 3 appetizers; duck legs, fried calamari and a fried vegetable dish. This is a wonderful hidden gem in Hobe Sound. My husband and I went for dinner and it happened to be the night that they featured on a local tv show that was giving them rave reviews! The owners personally greeted us and all the staff was wonderful. We arrived a few minutes before they opened and were greeted and lead to a table to relax with a glass of wine by our waiter, Chad. We are excited to join their wine club when we go back to Florida in the Fall. The food was fabulous and the wine list is unbelievable! Don't miss out on this wonderful restaurant! We were recently told by the wife of the owner that happy hour included half price appetizers and drinks. Upon arrival we told by her husband that happy hour was only for drinks. The drinks were served in normal glasses however we were only given half portions . We were actually billed full price and we had to mention that no discount was applied. This was corrected. We like to experience appetizers along with a glass of wine to check out places where we are unfamiliar. Since happy hour discounts didn't apply to food, we ordered dinner. The food was mediocre at best. When asked what was the specialty of the house, we were told the bolognese pasta was one. Honestly it was bland and needed some salt. More importantly, it tasted as if it was reheated instead of being fresh. I ordered the risotto with shrimp which was ok but again not what I was hoping for. Overall, the food was average, the ambience fair and the pricing a tad much for the quality delivered. My party of three was disappointed and it's doubtful we will return. read more

Really wanted to love this restaurant. Greeted by the welcoming owner (Luis) ND seated in the front area. Nice enough and comfortable from the get-go. Our server (Stacy) was more than pleasant and was helpful with the wine selection (I chose a nice Super Tuscan). The service was very disjointed, which was a glaring shortcoming. Everyone was so nice, but seemed to get "lost" when needed help. It wasn't a matter of being short-handed. Strangely out of sync is more like it. I was a little overwhelmed by the detail and charges on the check. Really, $1.25+ for an unrequested chocolate drizzle over the zappoles that'snot listed on the menu? You're still charging a $1.00 "restaurant relief fund" fee? Strange "credit card prices" listed on the bill and then a 3% less for cash listed at the bottom? I get trying to recoup your transaction fees, but please post it somewhere- on the menu preferably. The busser (a 16 year-old doll who just moved here from CT) was highly attentive and who really tried to plug the service holes. She saved the day and helped us feel more than appreciated. Even through all the weirdness, the food was excellent and the experience was welcoming. We will absolutely give The Grove another try. You should as well. I believe you'll enjoy it! read more

First time I try this place. Went because I saw the almost 5 stars so I decided it was worth the 40 min drive. I had the chicken Picatta . Do not order this!!! Awful it was a thick piece of chicken breast covered in a watery sauce. This more like chicken soup. They did offer to bring me something else which I honestly appreciate that since I couldn't eat the picatta. If I would had known I was going to have this experience I would not have had wasted my gas. It's nothing special. You could probably have this food at your local pizzeria. And to top it off we ask the owner what was this 1.00 COVID surcharge he told us every restaurant does it and I express I have never had to pay a COVID surcharge. BUT , they are trying way too hard to be a fine dining restaurant with a huge inventory of fine wines. The owner although friendly was constantly trying to upsell everything from a bottle of wine to extra items for dinner and after dinner wine and or martinis. When she wasn't doing it her husband was. And then there are prices. A pasta and scallop dish is $46. Really? We eat out a lot so we have a good idea of prices. We cannot recommend this place. Paid $52 for a veal chop special that had only a few bites of meat on it. They did not tell us the price ahead of time, if they had, we would not have ordered. For a wine bar they have almost no wines by the glass. They were out of the one and only chardonnay by the glass. The waiter talked us into a red wine that ended up being $20 by the glass and it was not even a respectable pour. Eggplant Rollatini was just okay but for an Italian place it should've been awesome. I'm from out of town and visited here with my family who lives in the area. They have always raved about this place, so I was excited to check it out! We met Jen, the co-owner, and she is a phenomenal person. She talks with all of the customers and really gets to know them. Their wine list has wines that I haven't seen on a list before, all of which are delicious. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely join their wine club. You won't find wines like these anywhere else!
