Romeo n Juliette's Caffe is one of those small hidden gems of a restaurant you might never know about unless a friend shares the secret. Don't be off put by the location....in a commercial strip center off the beaten track in Tequesta. The decore is dark and quiet- very Italian, and the food is wonderful, always prepared to order, and delicious. There are daily specials and often homemade pasta dishes. They only serve wine and beer, no liquor, but they are one of only two Italian restaurants that serve Birra Moretti, which I favor over their alternative offer, Peroni. Be forewarned...this is a very small restaurant. Advance reservations in season are almost always needed. Many of the patrons are regulars and reserve a table weeks in advance. The only times available on Wednesday afternoon for the following Friday evening I was there were 5:00pm or 8:00pm. Dress is casual. The cost of dining there is on the higher side, but this is an Italian restaurant that is worth the premium price if you want to treat yourself to authentic Italian cuisine. read more

We heard rave reviews and had to see what it was all about. This place is tiny and I mean that I a wonderful way. It's cozy and just a dozen tables. It's so romantic to enjoy a meal in such a setting. We arrived right on time, you should too. They run a tight ship but that's nice. We did not wait one moment. We were welcomed and brought to our table. The stag came by filled our waters and got us started. They gave us a moment to review the wine and dinner menus. Then retuned to tell us about the specials. We went crazy with garlic bread, a rissoto ball, pasta Fagioli soup, and Cesar salad to get started. The flavors were wonderful and rich. Nice way to start. The Mrs had the eggplant rolatini and I had the shrimp limoncello. Wow to both. The eggplant was thin sliced and lightly fried. The shrimp was wild due to a sweet finish from the limoncello sauce. Both were delicious and we were pleased. We shared a bottle of wine with dinner, a nice recommendation from our waitress. It was a great pairing. We wrapped with a tiramisu. Different than I expected and have had in the past but it was wonderful in its own way. Turns out most things are homemade and we could tell. This was our first visit to Romeo -N- Juliettes, a cozy Italian restaurant with about 10 tables. It was strongly recommended by friends and we had to make a reservation several weeks in advance. It is located in an industrial section of Jupiter, but don't be scared away by the look of it from the outside. Once you get inside you will be warmly greeted by the chef's wife Mary and start to enjoy the intimate ambience of the restaurant. The food is great! We had the Rigatoni Bolognese and Lasagna. Don't judge a book by the cover! This restaurant is located in an industrial area in a small strip mall. Inside there are only about 10 or so tables, so getting a reservation is tough. Went to this restaurant for the first time tonight. OMG. What a gem. It is small and intimate and easy to understand why getting a reservation is difficult. But oh so worth it. We started with a bottle of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. Cold & delicious as expected. Then we ordered the Calamari Fritti & the special appetizer of the evening, stuffed pepper. The calamari was light & the squid shone through the breading. The accompanying marinara was indicative of the great Italian food to come. The stuffed pepper was a yellow bell pepper stuffed with rice, meat & peas. Divine. For entrees we ordered the bolognese over fresh pappardelle. My husband was in love with his plate. I had the veal Valentino over pappardelle. The mushrooms, the sauce, the veal cutlet stuffed with prosciutto & fontina cheese were beyond great. Our entrees came with a house salad that was dressed to a turn. Needless to say we had two to go boxes for our leftovers. Even though we were pretty full, we made room for a cannoli that was light & scrumptious & a cappuccino. A big shout out to Jody our server and Henry our wine steward. I'm writing this review to help the business but I fear opening Pandora's box on this restaurant for selfish reasons. I have had two experiences here now - this establishment is an experience as much as it is a meal - and despite my lofty expectations following the first visit, the second blew me out of the water. It took a majority of the meal just to come down from the euphoria brought about by the food, and the balance of the meal was spent discussing happy childhood memories and other things you talk about when food brings you to an such an ecstatic place. I cannot steer you toward any individual dish; this is your experience, but it's one you must have. I feel I must share just a little as I've never felt such an emotional response to such things as pappardelle or yellowtail snapper (market catch) or tiramisu. This little "hole in the wall" was amazing. It was highly recommended but even better than we expected. We had two delicious appetizers consisting of clams oreganato and fried zucchini. The salads were free so we let them bring them. How do salad greens taste so good! All three of us had very fresh tasty yellowtail snappers perfectly flavored with a light lemon butter sauce together with a great pappadelle with delicious marinara sauce . I was very full and was going to pass on dessert. But when my twins ordered a cannoli and tartufo and the waitress said the cannoli is filled to order I had to order one. I am glad I did. I love Northern Italian cuisine....actually, I love everything Italian. Romeo and Juliet is a jewel. The moment you walk in the door, a genuine smile and warm greeting welcomes you. I order the Livornese yellowtail snapper....absolutely, superb...the veal dishes are perfectly prepared.... the quality of veal, the ingredients for all the sauces are brilliantly balanced. The ingredients are thoughtfully sourced. Excellent wine recommendations. And they welcome bringing your own wines. I don't know what the cork fee is. The atmosphere is as familiar as the best family owned restaurants in Roma, Santa Margarita, Portofino and Amalfi coast. The only difference is you don't need a passport... Forget 5 stars .. The secret to their success is fresh homemade tasty Italian dishes served piping hot all the time and a kitchen that is within 20 feet of each customer. You can see the dish coming from the pan into your dish and served within 15 seconds. Their clams oreganata is out of this world. Large clams in a sauce that will force you to ask for bread so you can dip. Try the linguini with clams (very large clams not the small ones you get in even the fancy Italian restaurants) and also any veal dish but I liked the veal piccata the best. It's quite amusing when you are the part time resident of Palm Beach Gardens Florida and you're the one that is introducing a new dining experience to residents of the Jupiter area. What's up with that? Well the restaurant is located in an industrial section set back from the main road. Also, I believe it's because of the rapid growth of population and restaurant choices that are available off main roads. But regardless you still need reservations at this restaurant because it is always booked on weekends and very busy during the snow bird season. The restaurant dining room has a quaint cozy comfortable ambience without a bar area. When I dine at this restaurant, I am usually dressed in business casual as I noticed others are as well. In the many times I have dined at this restaurant, I have had as appetizers their two meatballs, calamari salad and Garlic Bread. And for entrée's I have had their Yellowtail Snapper Franchise, Yellowtail Livornese, the Shrimp Special and Zuppa De Pesce which were all wonderful. I once again ordered the Yellowtail Livornese which was as always very good. We had a party of 6 and got 4 appetizers on top of our main dishes and it was ALL AMAZING, every single dish. It was all very flavorful, unique, and incredibly fresh. We'd been hearing about this place for a long time but hadn't gotten there yet. So we finally decided to try and went with the takeout option. Well, we enjoyed our meals so much the first time we did it again last week! First off, this place passes the "meatball" test. My grandmother (not an Italian but married to one and forced to perfect them at a young age) made amazing meatballs. Its my market for great meatballs RnJ passes the meatball test with flying colors!!! Second, they do everything here just right. Not over sauced, not drowning in cheese or greasy when fried. They have really perfected these dishes in a way not every Italian restaurant can claim. Third, the service is top notch. Like I said, we have only done take out but the service we received in curbside pickup has been safe, courteous and excellent. Last time we ordered the fried calamari - now that notorious doesn't travel well, so they cooked it up at the last minute to ensure the best possible product. And it was fantastic! Plus everything is well packed so that nothing leaks or spills. Definitely ask for specials when you call (or go!) because they have some amazing things not on their regular menu. Two standouts are the escarole and bean soup and the slow cooked veal chop with peppers. If they have them, jump on them! We have wanted to try the snapper with Livorese but haven't tried that one yet. There really isn't anything we tried so far that I wouldn't recommend. I would say with your salad, upgrade to caesar with the anchovies. Fabulous! Upgrade your pasta to the house made papparadelle. There is nothing better than fresh pasta and they have amazing pasta! Desserts are limited for takeout - but you cant go wrong with the tiramisu. Don't even think twice - get it whether you eat in or take out! Bravo! read more
