i like this shopping center. Kind of reminds me of the West Hollywood Gateway shopping center. Almost all shops validate parking for about an hour and half. Trader Joe's is pretty big, but i think the one on santa monica is bigger. I've been to the CB2, Sushi Dan and Veggie Grill at this shopping center. Been going to 8000 Sunset a few times a week for years as it houses a Trader Joe's. The mall itself has definitely been through its changes. It used the be chock full of stores and restaurants but now the it's pretty sparse. The theater here has also been through it and has changed hands several times. Sundance, AMC and currently Landmark. Hopefully Landmark sticks around but they definitely appear to be struggling as far as attendance. I think this mall is very much a reflection of what's taking place throughout the city which is high rents forcing businesses to shutter. Very sad to see. read more

Whoever is running the leases here have driven half of the restaurants out. The rent is too high. Now they are slated to close Crunch Fitness. It will be interesting to see how long Trader Joe's will last with the foot traffic cut down from closing the gym. These people are so greedy they are collapsing their own business. read more

I currently have a foot fracture with not being able to weight bear at this time. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Landmark Theaters here to see a movie as a way to get out of the house. When we parked in the underground parking lot, we accessed the elevator nearby to get to the main floor. Mind you, this is our first time here. Once we were on the main floor, we noticed that the theater was on a level above, near the escalators and stairs. In order for me to get there, I have to use an elevator. We found the elevator, but guess what, no operation in sight. It was out of order! I wasn't able to go up. The elevator we used initially only goes to the parking lot to the main floor and vice versa. We asked workers here including at the theater about the elevator, and apparently it's been out of order for over a year! A YEAR! We were able to get the movie tickets refunded and our parking validated, but please never visit here. It's not worth it. I was surprised we even got lucky with parking. read more

This is the absolutely WORST complex In Los Angeles ! The absolute worst! The landlord of this complex has zero worries that this complex has not one elevator or lift that works ! Literally 24 hrs a day 7 days a week NOTHING works . It's been week 4 and the elevators have been broken ! I work in this complex and I'm Looking to get out of here. I have been working here for 6 months and I'm those 6 months I have seen escalators and elevators never working . If you are disabled or elderly I suggest you never come to this awful dangerous complex. Last week a man slipped and broke his arm and there was no way for the fire department to get him down as nothing was working . He was in the second floor . This place is almost perfect! I've been so many times, love the restaurants and movie theatre! But tonight, for the first time, my validation was rejected by the parking office... I was there less than an hour and the businesses validate for 90 minutes. No attendants were able to help me. The facility is kept pretty clean, but it's starting to wear around the edges. Beeping noises across the parking structure, elevators that have been out of commission for weeks, cob webs in obvious places and to top it off, validations being rejected... the businesses make it worth it to put up with the nonsense. But I would expect better from a facility that is the gateway to the sunset strip. read more

This place is a nightmare. The narrow driving areas in the parking garage are WAY TOO TIGHT, even for a 2018 Nissan Leaf. I'm still getting to know the size of this car, but holy cow I'd be cautious even in a smart car. Too tight. I already hate how congested L.A. is in traffic (with parked cars lining the streets), and then this monstrosity was just nightmarish. I was just looking to charge the car but I had no idea where the chargers were. Meanwhile there are a zillion people in this crowded place....like driving a bus through a golf cart track. Nightmare. Shopping Center stores are great, however, the whole area is always so dirty. I come to this shopping center at least twice a week and always see overfilled trashcans and have never once seen any maintenance people of any kind. Please get someone to maintain the shopping center clean. read more

Great one stop shopping center that has it all!! CVS, Trader Joe's, Movie theatre, Gym, Restaurants, and a Salon Republic where every kind of beauty need can be met from hair stylists to eyelash extensions to waxing to massages!!! There is also a Starbucks and a couple cute stores where you can buy nice candles or health stores for smoothies and a state of the art health lab where they have everything from cryogenics to Botox!! Can someone explain to me why a security guard barged into the mens room, kicked open a stall, and then proceeded to kick open the door of the stall I was using? This is not the first time I've felt that security has harassed patrons. But, this is certainly the first time I've been harassed directly. I have written over 180 reviews over seven years, only five have been one star. 3% of my reviews are one star. This review is part of that 3%. I went here and did my shopping in the morning. I went up to put the ticket in the exiting machine and it said I had a $75 charge. I checked the ticket, it said "November 3rd" but today was November 6 and I had not left my car in the parking lot since November 3rd. I was not even at the shopping center on November 3rd. I called for assistance. Rocio who worked as the attendant at 9:15am at November 6, 2017 answered and kept saying the machine didn't break and all times were correct. I was not here on Friday at 5:25 and even if I were, I would not still have the ticket because I would've left and when you leave the parking lot, you give up the ticket. I asked to speak to her manager, she said the manager wasn't here. She may have been right but she did not give me any contact info for the manager. Regardless, I paid the $25 lost ticket fee. There are other shopping centers, I will not be coming back. read more

worst managed building ever. ywo out of four elevators have jenn out of service for months. A third one went down about two weeks ago, totally illuminating access from one area. The remaining fourth one went down today. Escalators frequently do not work. I would say that on an average, the building has all four elevators and both escalator working about 60% of the time. I like this movies theatre a lot because I have AMC A-List. I like many of the restaurants as well. The problem is the parking. We wanted to chat after the movie, so we decided to grab food. Somehow, we did the math wrong calculating the time... so instead of three hours validated by the theatre, we were in the mall for four hours. That additional hour at the restaurant cost us each $10. We looked at each other, and my friend said -- okay, we have to remember NOT to do this again... Just movie, and go! I agreed. I'm writing this because I feel bad for that restaurant -- Wokano -- which had excellent and friendly service and good food. Based on that, I would return... except that I won't. I'm sure some people don't flinch at paying $10 for the privilege of spending $40 for a snack, but sadly I'm not one, and don't know them. These restaurants are definitely losing business they could have gotten because parking costs $2 every 15 minutes after the validation runs out... nullifying the benefit of sharing space with a cinema. There should be a way to add validation time if you are visiting a restaurant and the theatre. Until then, I'll continue to see movies and leave -- but I've had my last dinner and a movie at the Sunset 5. read more

Last week, while shopping 8000 Sunset, my Daughter's car was broken into in the parking garage. Her window was smashed, (as well as another car parked a space away), and her computer, and other personal items were stolen. She was parked adjacent to the "security" station. They said that they didn't see or hear anything, and said, "sorry, there's nothing we can do". WARNING: When you park at 8000 Sunset, DO NOT presume that there is any security in the parking garage. I will never again patronize 8000 Sunset, and I will caution all my friends, and Facebook friends, as well. read more

Parking kind of sucks b/c the garages is several floors underground with ZERO oxygen so all you smell and inhale are exhaust fumes. And it's hot down there too! But for the businesses, I love that Veggie Grill and Trader Joe are right next to each other b/c those are the places I frequent the most. I also like that they give 2 hours FREE with validation. That is rare in West Hollywood. I miss Pinkberry - there used to be one here and it was oh so convenient therefore I was very sad when they closed that location down. CB2 is fun to browse, I don't go to Starbucks, have never been to this movie theater, and not really familiar with the other restaurants b/c I am a Veggie Grill girl so I only eat there when I go to 8000 Sunset. read more

Dont park on P2. Car broken into. No cameras. Security guard tells me breakins happened previously in same area of garage. Clearly management has taken no additional measures such as surveillance to deter thieves. Ironically, this is same floor as security office. read more

I love the mall at Sunset and Crescent Heights. It's the best place to get a workout in, get your car detailed, and eat a good lunch all in a single place. You can even grab something at Starbucks and go shopping and recharge your electric car. It doesn't get better than that! Every time I've come here the front of house staff is so disorganized. My order sits at the counter getting cold, they can't find the order number, pizza is ready but the salad wasn't made. Tonight I noticed a pizza sitting on the counter. As more pizzas came out and numbers card I sat and waited. The guy at the counter asked me what kind of pizza I ordered. I told him and then he started to give me the one that had been sitting. I told him that pizza is cold as it's Ben sitting there door 10 minutes. He replied " it's not been sitting there for 10 minutes. I'll make you another one". So I waited. When I hit the pizza it didn't include the customized add ons. I'm done w this place. read more

Warning- when validating parking be sure to validate for the longest stay establishment. If you have a meal and see a movie and you validate at the restaurant first, the parking attendant will not honor your ticket stubs! $15 to get out of the parking garage=really poor customer service! read more

8000 sunset parking management are a bunch of crooks. The validation machines never work. When we tried to exit, the parking attendant wouldn't honor my validation for crunch after I clearly worked out. Instead of using her brain and realizing that we should not have had to pay, she sent a security guard out who was equally as useless and stood there until we paid. Luckily 8000 sunset is not home to the only gym or Trader Joe's in LA so I can take my business elsewhere. read more

They took one of the three elevators and gave it its own button. There are no instructions to indicate why they have done this. So now on every floor everyone presses both buttons. They take the first elevator. But the other elevators are stopping on the floor anyway. So the result is that the elevators pretty much stop on every single floor with people not getting on or off. I called Christine Thomas at Weingarten and left a message asking for an explamation on how to navigate these properly and she has not returned my phone call. read more
