A large, fun entertainment and retail complex that features well-known shops and restaurants in a three-story setting. Ovation Hollywood is formally known as Hollywood & Highland. Situated in the heart of Hollywood, this outdoor shopping and dining area is surrounded by landmarks such as The Hard Rock Cafe, the Dolby Theater--home to the annual Academy Awards--The TCL Chinese Theatre, and much more. There is a fantastic outdoor courtyard offering guests plenty of picnic-style tables, individual tables and chairs, padded seating, and umbrellas for shade. Guests can also take the stairs or ride the elevator to the higher areas of the complex for stunning views of the Hollywood sigh and the complex courtyard. Underground parking is secure and can cost up to $25.00. However, if you shop or dine at any of the businesses within the complex, discounted parking is available with a validated ticket. Remember to bring your parking ticket with you. My family and I enjoyed lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, visited a local museum, and shopped in the area. Our parking fee was only $3.00 after validation. Employees of the complex are friendly and hardworking, and security personnel conduct high-visibility patrols on foot and bikes. The entire area is relaxing and fun. I think I was pleasantly surprised to discover how much there is to do and see at Ovation Hollywood. Generally, I think of this as a tourist spot, but have had occasions in the past when a screening or event has brought me to this venue. SO MANY dining options, Japanese cultural experiences, a cute K Skin boutique and a convenient place to park, eat, then walk a short distance to the Hollywood Bowl. It may be slightly uphill, but after the concert, the walk back is a breeze. Parking is a very fare price, and most shops & restaurants will validate 2 hours free, which make it even more affordable. We recently checked out their Center Court FIFA watch party area and it was a LOT of fun. I also felt it was safe and a good visual presence of security guards was observed. There are also easy coffee, sandwich, boba and snack kiosks for a quick bite or fun treat. This is also a great location to start the Hollywood walk of fame tour, cement handprints and local museums - in particular The Hollywood Museum, just a 1/2 block away. Ovation Hollywood has had such a glow up since I was younger. They really have made efforts to make this a great hangout spot for the weekend. They offer some really awesome free/affordable event events for the community, including Friday night movie nights during the summer, drag bingo, and sports watch parties. You can get the most parking validation at either the theater or Dave & Buster's. I'm really impressed with their movie nights so far. One recommendation that I would have is that they do musical sing-alongs in the future where the words appear on screen because I think that would foster a a fun opportunity for audience participation. I will gladly come here to any events they might have in the future. My mom even had a fun time at the movie night last night. I recommend coming early to find parking and get yourself situated if you're coming here for an event. read more

Ovation Hollywood is a small shopping center in the middle of Hollywood. There aren't too many shops and you could easily knock it out in 30 minutes. A few restaurants, a few coffee shops, a Dave & Busters... Nice if you're in the area but not anything I'd go out of my way to visit. read more

The ovation is usually a tourists spot but since I started working in the area is one of the spot to have my breaks walks. You have many eateries and retail options here, from dessert to Korean skin care, Coffee, burger joints, ice cream, Sephora, VS... they have it all. Also it is connected to the Dolby Theater and the Loews Hotel (host of the stars at many awards and home of the Oscars). Many retails do partial parking validation. This is great as the parking around here is either expensive and far from Ovation. The restrooms are always clean or getting cleaned. Security guards walking around as this is a all the time busy place. There's almost always something happening in the middle as they have special events like game nights, movie night etc. Just come with patience and energy to browse around. read more

I've been visiting Ovation back when it was still called the Hollywood and Highland Center. Back then it used to have these amazing huge elephants on columns, but apparently, they were taken down because they referenced a filmmaker who was racist. If you didn't know the backstory, you'd never know. Now the plaza is rather plain. At least the bridges with views of the Hollywood sign are still there. When it's Oscar season, the shops are covered up with huge curtains and the red tiled grand staircase acts as a red carpet. My most recent visit was for the Chinese New Year celebrations. They had performers, a fashion show, and booths where you could do different things, like write down a wish and tie it up on a tree or get a special good luck red envelope that normally contains money, but in this case they stuffed them with coupons for a few of the nearby shops. The mall itself is a typical mall with stores you'd see anywhere else in the U.S., it's not crazy expensive like Rodeo Drive. The main difference is that the Chinese Movie Theater holds movie premieres and the Dolby Theater holds the Oscar Awards, so same, but not the same. I greatly appreciate the underground parking garage since parking is always an issue in L.A. and there are enough levels that if one level is full, you can just drive down to the next ones. I've had issues with paying for parking, though, everything from one of the machines not accepting my card only to find out I was charged twice, to paying a ridiculous amount because the event I went to at Dolby Theater wouldn't validate. My advice is to buy something, anything at one of the shops or restaurants so you can get that purple validation ticket. That way you'll pay $3 instead of an hour's worth of work or more, and make sure to put that purple ticket in first and then the regular white one. And no matter how many times I've been here, the zigzag directions for both the parking garage and escalators are disorienting, like why? Why not make it straightforward? Is the confusion on purpose to make us slow down? I've lost count of how many times I've been here and I'm sure that for one reason or another I'll be back because even though some parts of it are frustrating, for the most part it's good because of the special events it holds and the sheer energy of it being a tourist destination. read more

Free street parking on Sundays! Other than that, ya gotta pay. I feel like I've been here before and wasn't impressed in the slightest and had the "I've had enough of this place I gotta leave ASAP" vibe, but it's much nicer. Everything is updated and very sleek looking, there's lots of security posted throughout the mall, and the bathrooms were actually pretty dang clean, which is crazy considering where you're at. Most of the shops are places that I can find at the Shops at Santa Anita or other malls, or just in the 626 in general, but I feel like you're a tourist or out of town and you need to grab skincare or make up, they got you covered. Shops are alright, a couple unique places, but mostly dining chains. Visiting Japan House is a must though. Overall not bad if you're touring Hollywood! read more

Although I had one of the most embarrassing moments of my life here - stumbling down the stairs onto Hollywood Boulevard to a sea of tourists with my phone flying 30 feet in front of me, because I was so entranced by a Michael Jackson impersonator - I still love Ovation. Ovation is found right in the most touristy section of the city on Hollywood Blvd. While this is a great spot for tourists, I come here all the time as a local for different events, shops. and eats. Just keep in mind, it is still an outdoor mall so only open until 9pm on weekdays, 10pm weekends. Now the parking garage, isn't too bad at $6 an hour or $20 max, but there is 2-4 hour validation for $3 parking almost everywhere at Ovation except the Dolby Theater. Also be sure to park in their official parking lot, not one of the many non-official and more expensive ones, including one right next door - it's tricky. Forever 21, Hot Topic, Victoria's Secret, Footlocker, Lids & Sephora are some of the large retail brand shops that can be found here. In more unique retail therapy options, you'll also find Dodger's Gear, Korheim Korean Beauty and Sala Muzik to name a few. For snacks, Ben & Jerry's, BOPOMOFO, Cold Stone Creamery, Chado Tea Room and several coffee shops. For more filling eats, Bao Bao House, Hard Rock Cafe, Cho Oishi, Jinya Ramen, Johnny Rockets and a more recent Ovation addition - the Win-Dow sans it's usually conjoined sister restaurant American Beauty making it's Hollywood debut. Bowling at Lucky Strike. Games at Dave N Buster's. Voyeurism at the Japan House Art Gallery, not to mention all the great people watching throughout the Blvd and even in the courtyard. The courtyard is actually really dope and they play fun things on the huge screens sometimes like LA Dodgers' games! Though if you sit in that area, it can become a wind tunnel so be prepared. TCL Chinese Theaters is strangely a part of the Ovation though not physically connected, while Dolby Theater (which is inside of the mall) is not. Bizzare. Random bonus things: You can take a shuttle from here to Hollywood Bowl if you don't get parking. Grauman's Chinese and Dolby Theaters are right there. Looked like the Loews hotel is conveniently connected. It's clean, spacious. My daughter was happy to see Hot Topic and spend too much time in there. But, it's fine, there's plenty to keep busy with and plenty of seating if you get tired from all that walkin' around. Great place to checkout Hollywood. It's a home for the Oscar & the Chinese Theater and right across the street is where Jimmy Kimmel taping and next to it is the El Capitan (Disney) theater. The ovation has its own parking lot for $6 (1-4hrs) with validation from shops/restaurants. There are plenty of selection places to check out, shops..such as Ben &Jerry's, Cold Stone Creamery, Chado Tea Room, Bao Bao House, Hard Rock Cafe, Cho Oishi, Jinya Ramen, Johnny Rockets, and others. It's also walking distance to the max museum and magic castle right behind. Value wise, depending what you shop but it's Hollywood and it doesn't come cheap for sure. 3/5 Once Grand, Now a Bit Faded--But Still Useful Ovation Hollywood is a massive outdoor mall directly connected to the Dolby Theatre and TCL Chinese Theatre, which gives it a prime location right in the heart of Hollywood. They've got a few solid spots--Johnny Rockets, Dave & Buster's, Lucky Strike bowling, some coffee shops, and retail staples like Victoria's Secret, Sephora, and Pandora. I occasionally stop in to grab a few things here and there. But honestly, it's kind of sad. So many of the storefronts are empty and up for lease. You can tell that when it first opened, it was probably beautiful, busy, and exactly what Hollywood needed. Now, like many other places, it's just lost a bit of its charm. Still, if you're nearby or need to kill some time before a movie or show, it's worth a visit--just go in with tempered expectations. read more

Cool mall. This mall was listed on the top hack to view the Hollywood sign (from afar) if you don't want to leave the city center area. We explored in the inside of the mall (lobby area) had lots of cool architecture designs. We went up floor by floor further exploring until we reqxh the floor we needed to go out on the terrace to view the sign. It was abit cloudy but we were able to view it. Thanks for the cool hack. We also took a break here and sat after the long walk sightseeing. There was a massive food court with lots of options for everyone. Not even seating but you would have to keep looking for empty table (not all are clean and you have to wipe it down yojrself). It's like looking for parking in a big lot lol I really enjoyed the artworks within the mall, and the outdoor terrace has a nice vibe. read more

Now you can read Kenneth Anger's book Hollywood Babylon as you walk through a mall that's not related to the name of the book at all. How pointless. Ovation Hollywood is a grand, modern semi-enclosed shopping mall. Conveniently located adjacent to the Dolby Theater. You can traverse both without leaving the premises. Also conveniently located in proximity to other iconic theaters, dining, shopping, touristy activities, and of course, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ovation Hollywood is virtually a hub for a one or multi-day itinerary for both locals and tourists. However, like many malls across America, there are some retail spaces that are vacant. There is convenient and affordable parking here and in the vicinity. If you are spending time in the area, unless you find convenient street parking there really isn't a reason not to park in the garages. If you are traversing the multiple theaters, shopping, dining, or the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you probably will have an opportunity to have your parking ticket validated. Overall, a very good experience. I'll visit again when in the area. read more

We parked our car at the Ovation Hollywood parking structure, the entrance being off from Highland Boulevard. Large secure parking lot, after getting our parking voucher validated at the El Capitan Theater our total cost was three dollars for four hours of parking. Not bad for Los Angeles parking rates. read more

Just recently went to this mall to check it out. It's pretty historical and is located just off the walk of fame and next to the famous movie theatre. I would probably say this mall is mostly an experience kind of thing. You can actually see the Hollywood sign from inside the mall, most clearly from the upper floors. They have about 4 to 5 levels and a courtyard on the bottom floor. They have a parking structure which will give you 2 hours of validation from some of the restaurants. The mall is an outdoor mall. There were not that many shops or restaurants but enough to make it interesting. They have a gigantic Dave and Busters, Victoria's Secret, Hot Topic, and most of your typical mall shops. Like I mentioned earlier, this is an experience coming here and walking around the area. We did eat at the Cabo Grill, but they also have the well known Hard Rock Cafe. Come and enjoy. read more

This location is out of sight. I love the fact that it's an open door mall. My mom even asked "Are we outside?" It's super cool. I love how the different businesses are situated. Everything is so elegant. Honestly what I love most are the signs that directs you through the mall and the parking lot. It's big but you could never get lost even on your first visit. Besides being connected to the Dolby Theater where the Oscars are held, this is just a mall without a big-name anchor. The stores are basically what you'll see elsewhere, although they have some unique restaurants. It has some nice views overlooking Hollywood Blvd on one side and a good view of the Hollywood sign on the other. The courtyard is nice and had some good Christmas entertainment while we were there. What's going to be bad is trying to leave when an event at the Dolby Theater is getting out. The escalators and parking pay stations are JAMMED! So much so, there was almost an accident on the escaltor going down because one of the landings was so packed, there was no room for people to get off the escalators and it just kept shoving people into each other. read more

This is the shopping mall next to the Dolby theater where you can get one of those views of the famous Hollywood signs without having to go over there. The mall sits on several levels and access to the theater is easy. If you want to see the sign you can take the stairs up to one of the higher floors. You'll know you are approaching it when you see nearby a fake Hollywood sign. The accent stairs have a saying "We are all stars." This way you will know if you are there. The view of the sign is far but with telephoto lens you can get a nice picture of it. My husband and I were inside the mall briefly. It's modern and decked out, however, it sits right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the middle of a high tourist trap. Just be careful as there are many people out to get your money. See it if you are in the area, I wouldn't make a special trip just to go there. read more

I went here on a Tuesday around 11am during my SoCal trip recently and wanted to visit this place since it's connected to the hotel I stayed at. We wanted a way to pass time before our flight, so we went here and it is basically like a mini shopping center with chain restaurants and stores. I liked how this shopping center has some familiar brands I know of. It was nice to have something close to a hotel to shop at in case you get hungry or need a few supplies. They have some popular restaurants here too that you can dine in, so that was nice to have at this small shopping center. This shopping center has 4 levels to it, but is still a bit small because of the open space in the middle. Another thing I liked about this area is how you can get a good view of the Hollywood sign! Since there are 4 levels to this area, I chose the level at the lowest bridge area to take my pictures of the Hollywood sign. It turns out a lot of people had the same idea as me, but there was also an area on the ground level here where people took their pictures with the sign. I'd recommend this place! It's a good place to relax or pass time by doing some shopping. There are restaurants here too if you're staying at the hotel next to it and having trouble finding a place to eat. This place is also basically on the Hollywood Walk of Fame if you decide to walk through there too. read more

Parking here can be a hassle with most parking spaces appearing to be 'compact' size. While it is a massive underground parking structure, it will take awhile to find a spot. The Oscars are coming Sunday, and the big buzzkill these days is "Who cares?" Well, I only bring it up now because Jamie W. and I were just at this vertical shopping mall which houses the Kodak Theater where the ceremonies are held. In fact, you can walk the hallway where the red carpet gets laid out. Otherwise it's a three-story shopping center full of shops that hold little interest to me. Sephora. Forever 21. American Eagle Outfitters. Geez, I might as well be at home. The layout was modeled after the Babylon set of a very old silent D.W. Griffith epic called "Intolerance", but you can barely tell since it's been under renovation for quite a while. We found ourselves like rats in a maze trying to navigate the complex. We eventually made our way up to the level that allows for a nearly microscopic view of the Hollywood sign (photo: https://bit.ly/3izhzpm). Even though we actually took the metro to get here, I remember they have a cavernous underground parking lot if you need it. Fees are expectedly astronomical - $6 per hour with a $20 daily maximum. Hollywood & Highland Center officially changed the name to Ovation Hollywood in early 2022. The obviously landmarks (TCL Chinese Theatres, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Dolby Theatre) remains intact, but the five-story tall shopping plaza was renovated and has a feel of your typical modern mini shopping plaza. [Parking]: There's a public parking structure right next to the shopping plaza (6801 Hollywood Blvd) and the rate is $3 for the first 2 hours (with validation from participating retailers, restaurants, and shops), $3 for the first 4 hours from participating cinemas, $20 daily maximum, and $2 for each 20 minutes. I was able to get my parking ticket validated at Tea & Coffee Exchange (located right next to Dolby Theatre level #1 [street level] entrance and the café opens daily from 12 PM - 6 PM). I was also instructed by the staff to insert validation card with barcode facing up then follow by parking ticket to exit. [Shops]: There aren't any shops here that will make you scream "Oh my God this shop is so unique & special that I must come here." You can find Forever 21, Victoria Secret, and Pandora at any other malls. Dave & Buster's and Lucky Strike are few of "play and eat" options and I happened to watch few minutes of one World Cup game while I was in Dave & Buster's. The most interesting store here is probably Anvio VR (full body virtual reality experience) located on level #1 [street level] entrance of Dolby Theatre. Convenient & affordable public parking (with validation) as this is probably one of the best spots to park and see TCL Chinese Theatres and Dolby Theatre, but shops are mediocre and exemplifies your typical tourist traps in Los Angeles. read more

DO NOT PARK HERE IF YOU'RE GOING TO THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL!!!! We parked here last night for the Kali Uchis concert at the Hollywood Bowl. We got back to our car a little after 11pm after taking the shuttle back from the Bowl to Ovation. Parking was $20 and an hour and a half of my life. First of all it's pretty much one pay machine per floor. While there's multiple machines, only one per floor was in service. So long lines on every floor to pay. Once in the car, we literally sat for over an hour as we not even inched our way out. And unfortunately for us, we were on P4, so pretty much at the bottom of the lot. The line to get out onto Highland took forever. Luckily I noticed the line to get out on Orange was moving a wee bit faster so I switched as soon as I could. And it moved better. We ended up getting out of the parking lot around 12:45. I will never park here again and I honestly hope people learn from my misfortune. read more
