Visited today, 7/13/22, The Grove for a late lunch with my family (3). It was approximately 3:55pm and hardly anyone was in the restaurant. When we approached the hostess station, she asked if we had a reservation, and we replied we did not. She said in a very elitist tone: "I have several 4 o'clocks (get this, it's a Wed afternoon and not even 4) so I won't be able to seat you in the main dining area; however, you can go up to the rooftop bar and dine there and they have a full menu."We're like, ok. So we proceeded upstairs, look over the menu, get the attention of that our waitress (who was nice enough) to take our order. We learned that the rooftop bar does NOT offer a full menu. Ok. So we order what was offered. Food was hot and VERY good. When we left about 1-hour later, we peered into the doing room and, as I would have anticipated, the dining room WAS NOT full. The experience with the hostess was what we were most troubled by. A bit snotty and passed along bad information (both about her reservations and the availability of a full menu at the rooftop). Probably, this review would have been a 5 based on food only. But the hostess interaction I'd rate a 2. Very unwelcoming. read more

Yikes is all I have to say. Came here for dinner the other night this week and would not recommend. Service was extremely slow for not being that busy. The worst part about our experience was that a mysterious chocolate/nut mixture was "found" in the bottom of the grits side we ordered. The waiter/manager did not have an explanation for this mistake and luckily my friend who ordered the dish did not have a nut allergy. The most unprofessional part of this error was that nothing was removed from the bill at first and we had to ask. Talk about horrible customer service. read more

I was in Savannah for a wedding and wanted to get brunch while I was in town. The Grove was one of the few brunch places that took reservations, which was a plus. - Atmosphere: I didn't explore the restaurant besides the room we sat in, but it was kind of lacking. There were some parties wrapping up who had balloons and decorations, but besides that there was not much of an atmosphere to speak of. - Service: The services was fine, except that our server twice gave wrong information about the beer selection. When my boyfriend ordered beers he asked what kind they were. Both times she said lagers so he ordered them. When he tasted them they did not taste like lagers and after looking them up it turned out they weren't. - Food / Drinks: I was hoping for a healthy meal so I had the granola bowl. It was large and had lots of fresh fruit on top, but I am 99% sure the granola was just crushed Nature Valley bars. For $10 I expect actual granola. My boyfriend had the chicken tenders which were fine, but tasted like something you could buy frozen from the grocery store. I also had the orange fizz cocktail that had such an artificial vanilla flavor that I couldn't drink it. Maybe it was my fault for ordering something with vanilla monin, but no one at my table enjoyed it either. - Value: Overall the prices weren't bad, but I would expect a much higher quality, especially with the food scene in Savannah. read more

Some girlfriends and I made reservations at The Grove for dinner last Friday night and we were so glad that we were there during Happy Hour. The happy hour specials were really good! Our waitress was very attentive, the food was delicious and they were very quick getting our food out to us. Do yourself a favor and get the honey drizzle fries. It's their fries with a honey jalapeno drizzle over them and they are amazing. Bonus "found by mistake" Tip: If you get the grilled cheese with the honey drizzle fries, make sure the excess jalapeno honey gets on your sandwich bread because it is a combo that cannot be matched. read more

I really enjoyed The Grove. It's a nice, cool, fun new Savannah spot. I love the rooftop bar and deck. The restaurant downstairs is nice as well. The best part of the meal was the champagne pop cocktail and the shrimp scampi appetizer. For my meal I ordered the big easy chicken sandwich which I enjoyed and my friend ordered the salmon BLT. The food was good and I can't wait to try other things on the menu. The service was good, food was delicious and drinks amazing. I will definitely go back to this Savannah gem!! read more

Had the opportunity to come to The Grove today. We tried the Hummus appetizer which came with some veggies and a little bit too crispy of pita chips. Ate lunch here while visiting on vacation. I ordered the roasted sweet potato salad. While it was good I was very disappointed that the sweet potatoes were ICE cold. When ordering "roasted" anything I would expect hot or at least warm, not ice cold. However, when I complained to the waiter he assured me that'a how it comes. I also found the service - both waiter and kitchen - VERY slow, and from the look of the dining room they weren't overly busy. ALERT: they charge for iced tea refills AND add a 20% gratuity and we were just a table of four. While I think the people of Savannah are lovely, the staff at The Grove were not. The Grove is just ok. We were out in the area so decided to stop in for brunch. We really liked the smoked cheddar grits, but the chicken biscuits were on FROZEN biscuits. This is overpriced for frozen biscuits! The service could have been better. At no time were we asked if we wanted a drink. We got water and then the waiter asked us for our food order. This place is really great! We were seated on the rooftop and were enjoying our view with wonderful drinks and food. We ordered Bacon Wrapped Shrimp which was phenomenal!! We also ordered Chicken Wings which definitely had a kick but were overall sweet and tasty with just enough of the spice that your taste buds will be very satisfied. for our entrées we ordered the burger, chicken tenders, the chicken club sandwich, and the honey fries. I ordered the burger which was served with a brioche bun and tons of advocado which is definitely a plus! For drinks I ordered the champagne pop which came with an actual popsicle, a nice and refreshing touch to very basic champagne. For dessert we had the hummingbird cake which was similar to carrot cake but was made with banana and pineapple instead, the carmel gelato and the raspberry cheese cake, which were all very delicious and flavorful! The service was excellent and we found our stomachs full and happy after a wonderful evening dining here. I would definitely go back! This was a great little space that was much calmer than the outside activities. It is a trendy restaurant with spacious tables and a large bar area. I ordered a drink (happy hour was half priced glasses of wine!) and a salad. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. The Grove was recommended to us by a local during our trip in Savannah. We wanted to spend an evening somewhere outdoors with a rooftop preferably. We made reservations ahead of time. Our table was ready 30 minutes before the reservation. So that was great. We finally got seated upstairs. The sky view was nice. Very trendy place. It took a while for someone to come to our table and greet us. We decided to share a few dishes since we were eating here and there all day. We started with a shrimp scampi appetizer. The sauce did not taste like shrimp scampi but it was very good. Next we went with a salad. Bacon lettuce tomato with blue cheese. Entree we did the Atlantic salmon with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Fish was cooked right. Enjoyed the whole meal. I feel like if our waitress had more help we would've seen here more. Super cute, clean and chic place in the historic district of Savannah. Was with a group of people and we ordered the big Moscow mule ($50 I think) - it's like 166 ounces or something. Meant to be shared with at least 4 people in but if you don't finish it you can take it in cups to go for the next bar! Ordered the Nashville hot chicken which was deliciously complimented with the most amazing Brussel sprouts ! Service was good, not great. We made a reservation for four about a month in advance. Everything after that was horrible. We were told to have a drink and wait until the table was ready, people kept coming in and seemingly seating themselves while we were waiting. The bartender finally came and asked us the details of our reservation and told us "I have no idea what I'm doing". I understand that things happen and nothing is perfect so we were very calm and understanding with the host. The host called over their manager who was the very definition of not calm and understanding. I have truly never had an experience with someone so rude and condescending over such a simple matter. She was extremely belittling and not helpful at all. We were only two people and it was fairly slow, so surely accommodations could have been made. Went here for happy hour yesterday and it was almost too good lol! The rooftop deck was clean and spacious with comfortable lounge areas and umbrellas to shade you from the Savannah sun. We were greeted promptly by our server, I wish I could remember her name, but she was delightful. Based on her recommendations we ordered the jalapeño relish fries, the fried okra and the shrimp wrapped in bacon. EVERYTHING was amazingly flavorful, fresh and delicious! Why have your website, phone service, and the sign ON YOUR DOOR read that you are closed open until midnight and serving food until 10 when your hostess tells me at 9:07 that the kitchen, "usually decides to close around 9"? As an owner, why is your kitchen making the decision? As a patron, if you choose to do this, why not change your marketing to reflect? We are locals and have been here a couple times. Good drinks and the food is good for what you pay, but we have encountered this unprofessional representation of your standards twice in the last month.
