I have been here a number of times, both as solely a patron and also as a guest of the hotel immediately above the restaurant. I've been with big groups and sat by myself. Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city. read more

I had been to Rhett on a Savannah food tasting tour years ago and remembered how much I enjoyed the she crab soup then. It didn't disappoint this time around! For the table, we started with hushpuppies (others at the table had oysters and cheddar drop biscuits); I thought the hushpuppies were okay but skippable. I enjoyed my she crab soup which was a great balance of rich and spicy. I shared the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collared greens and the pork chop. I enjoyed the fried chicken which was juicy, and the collared greens were prepared well. The pork chop was also flavorful and moist, though I preferred the fried chicken. We ordered a side of the brussel sprouts which were probably my least favorite item on the menu; they were really salty, so much so that it almost overpowered the other dishes. read more

We stayed at the Alida during St Patrick's day weekend and were given two vouchers for breakfast at the Rhett. The first morning, we elected to bring our food to our room and the staff was able to accommodate us which was nice. The second morning, we ate at the restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful, the decor and ambiance picture worthy, especially the bar. I enjoyed the banana bread and shoestring fries, although they were slightly salty for my taste. The burger was huge and filling and the flavor was okay. My husband found this brunch spot on TikTok and brought me here for my birthday. The highlight of the morning was definitely our waitress, Fatima, who was absolutely amazing--warm, attentive, and full of personality. She really made me feel celebrated. We had a party of 7. The ambiance was wonderful. The biscuits were as dry as wood. We mentioned to the manager. She only said, "I'm sorry." We had zero service and the restaurant was not busy at all. We got one refill and no check up on the food. The bill came and we were charged for everything. I had to look for the manager and when I finally got to see her. The waiter and waitress in training were pleasant and attentive. We dined outside since the younger kiddo didn't want to sit in A/C, but more the ambiance inside is elegant and upscale. Rhett is known for its southern food and does have a kids' menu offering breakfast options and standard dinner fan favorites like grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and cheeseburger. Drinks are an additional $4 for the kiddos. Roasted pork entree was probably the standout of the night. Its skin was nice and crispy, and my husband, who usually only tolerates veggies, commented that the accompanying broccolini and sweet potato purée were tasty too. My shrimp and grits were a little underwhelming. I was expecting the grits to be a little drier vs as soupy as it was, but I'm not a southern cuisine connoisseur. The mushrooms felt out of place and were a bit chewy, and the andouille sausage was the most flavorful part of the meal. Overall, it was a bit bland for me. Looking for a delicious brunch spot on a quiet side street in Savannah? Found it. My friends and I stopped by on MDW (with a reservation) and were blown away by the food we ordered. Our waiter, Ibrahim, was lovely -- he was on top of everything, quick with our food and even helped us move an umbrella to get more shade. Honestly the food I had wasn't that good. I got the coconut açaí bowl and it wasn't very balanced in flavor. For almost $18 I woulda expected more fruit and I guess an "art" to it, but it was more bland and bitter than I would prefer. The size of the bowl is pretty good. We came here for dinner while in town! The restaurant was Americana/seafood themed. We got there shortly after they opened for dinner and were able to be seated right away. In the beginning of our time there, our service was great! Throughout our time and after getting our meal, we saw less and less of our server or anyone that was able to assist. When our server was around, they were helpful and attentive! Unfortunately they stopped checking in on us once we got our food, and only came back to hand us the bill. The food was okay. None of us were raving about the food, it was decent but not the best we've ever had. The food temperature was also a bit off, nothing tasted fresh, a lot of the items felt as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. We had a bit of sticker shock when the bill was placed in front of us, over $200 for a family of four! We didn't feel like the food (or service) was worth the price we paid. I don't think I would go out of my way to come back. If someone was looking for a seafood restaurant I'd maybe recommend it. read more

Made a reservation at Rhett for brunch for a party of 10. They had the table ready as soon as we arrived. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant. They did have some outdoor seating for smaller parties that looked really nice. Our food was amazing! Everyone was raving about how good it was. A few of the entrees our party tried were the brioche French toast, chicken and waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and biscuits and gravy. We also tried the Bellini, matcha latte, and the chocolate banana latte. All were delicious! We were celebrating our bride to be and our waitress brought us the most sensational banana bread! Having a chefs brigade debone 1/2 a chicken and frying it with a well seasoned coating, and serving the meat very moist is a pretty high end and masterful preparation. My wife felt the tomato sauce preparation with her grouper was too overpowering. She ate the grouper, and left the sauce. Food: 4/5 The service was not the best. In fact it was a little annoying. With the proper training, a GM could turn this into a fine dining restaurant, especially with the chops of their kitchen. Both servers that provided service to the tables around us referred to their guests as 'guys'...'Hi Guys, do You Guys need anything , how's the food guys, etc. Not just our server, but the gal that also worked in our section. It was strange and off putting. While our server checked on us occasionally, he NEVER poured our wine for us when he stopped by. Although this is a small item, it separates waitstaff between well trained professional servers, and servers at Hooters. With some better training of the wait staff, Rhett could be a great restaurant. I would love to see this happen and enjoy a better experience at Rhett my next trip to Savannah. read more

It had a nice balance of briny saltiness and sweetness from the roe and sherry. I also ordered a Rhett bloody mary and it was good but I assume it is better served in a glass vs. plastic cup (same price either way). With the plastic cup there was no celery salted rim (which I was hoping for) and I'm used to more pizazz in bloody mary toppers than an orange slice and a sprig of dill. My friend's to-go bellini looked better. The main dining room atmosphere looked lively and fun, and the brunch entrees looked delicious. I had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs day one and bacon, eggs, toast, potatoes day 2. I found the biscuits to be very dense and heavy so couldn't eat much, but the food was tasty. Today I had the bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were light and fluffy, the bacon crispy, the way I like it. The potatoes were very salty and I didn't have the toast. I thought it was experience, over $50 each morning for both of us, but it was convenient. read more
