Our mixologist, Logan (absolutely wonderful human being) not only made us the most delicious pecan praline whiskey cocktail but he also gave use some incredible history on the space & of course the ghosts! The limestone walls are original. Much of the decor adorning the walls was found in the building. Some of the wall hangings include an original bond and doctor prescriptions for whiskey. The furnishings and accessories complement the rooms to enhance the feeling of old-west prohibition. The velvet pieces exemplify burlesque. Total "hitch your horse to a post, mosey on down for a secret drink and a good time" vibes. Logan spun a tale of ghosts appearing in selfies taken by previous guests. The story was sensational and I was all about it. A wonky thing happened with the POS system while we were there that required a reboot. We came to Cowboys & Cadillacs as it seemed like a cool place to go. They have dinning inside. But outside roof top there is a huge stage, and big fire pit. The second level is more seating and a bar. A lot of people were out. A couple "brides to be" with their party were out too. The band was good. Ordered a blueberry mojito. Very nice. I knew from the moment I walked in that I was going to love it, and it quickly became my favorite wine bar...so much so that I visited two nights in a row! The wine selection is excellent and the service is every bit as impressive. You can tell the owners poured their hearts into every last detail. The décor is beautiful, but the ambiance really has to be experienced to understand just how special this place is. It's comfortable, intimate and full of character without feeling pretentious. Darrell, one of the owners, made the experience even more memorable with his captivating stories behind the wines. At one point, he even picked up a guitar and sang for a group of ladies, which was such a special moment and perfectly captured the charm of this place. My work trips anywhere within an hour of New Braunfels just became a lot more enjoyable! Thank you to Darrell and the entire staff for creating such a magical place. You go way to the back and down a steep flight of stairs. My son, his wife, and I left my wife and grandbaby in the saloon and headed down. When you get down there, you are suddenly in a beautiful Tiki bar with so many amazing things to gawk at. It sort of felt like waking up in OZ. We were the first people there, so we got to sit at the bar and watch our drinks being made. They have about 15 or so different specialty tiki drinks. Each one comes in a particular piece of glassware. I don't know how the bartender keeps them straight. He was constantly pouring different things into a shaker. Then he would shake it and pour it into the glass that was already filled with crushed ice. One of the drinks even had a smoking cinnamon stick. My drink was really good. It was the Three Dots and a Dash. It came in a barrel and was decorated with a skull toothpick that had three cherries and a piece of pineapple to represent the dots and dash. It was super strong! I was ready to risk it all and go for another drink, but it had gotten packed inside the bar. We could tell the bartender was stressing. They really need two for times like that. My wife spends the night at my son's house in New Braunfels every Thursday to give them a date night. Evidently, this is where they always go. I can certainly see why!
