This place is awesome. They have a great stock of games. The people are very friendly (both staff and gamers) and welcoming. There's plenty of parking..... Buuuut..... Dude this place stinks so badly. Like, the stank singed my nose hairs. I had to breath thru my mouth. My brother had to step out a few times to get some fresh air. I hate to say anything bad about this place, but bro....invest in some Fabreeze..or plug in Glade...or baking soda...or matches. You fix that and this place is a solid 5 stars. read more

My friends and I have gone to the older location to play dnd. The new location is super nice! We were greeted by two familiar faces when we got there. It's larger and there's more room for people to play. The atmosphere is great for group games. There is now more parking in the back. There is also a back entrance. Great place to play table top board games. They also sell some snacks in case you grow an appetite while slaying dragons. read more

After eating myself into a semi-coma at Golden Corral's all-you-can-eat, I told my fiancée I needed to go for a walk. My plan was just to circle the restaurant parking lot until I could breathe again, but it was a nice night, so she suggested that we go for a walk in the neighborhood. I'm so glad she did, because just a few blocks away we saw the lights of an interesting-looking place....a place which seemed to be summoning us. Entering the Guild House, we discovered a paradise for people into non-electronic gaming, including an entire wall of board games that they make available to the public for free play. So, I learned how to play Rummikub...and then politely beat my teacher. ;) It's a cool place that offers a nice little departure from the hectic pace of everything outside its doors. The staff and other patrons were very nice. If we lived in SoCal, even though we don't play any RPG, we would definitely be regulars at Guild House. read more

For those of us who live in the Bellflower/Lakewood area and collect board games this place amazing. It has regular events and has a lot of space for general gaming. The Guild House carries mostly newer board games and older games that are still in print. The owners Charles and Monica are super friendly and even own multiple stereotypical board game store cat(s). Place just opened up about 7-8 months ago and Charles who's the owner and runs the place is a really great guy. Super friendly. The guild house has a wide array of board games. They have miniatures for starcraft, pathfinders, and dungeons and dragons. They have game mats, terrain locations, dice and paint for decorating miniatures. The one issue, they don't always carry super rare specific ones for dragborn, paladin, and tiefling. You may have to call ahead before heading there if you are looking for something specific. But I am usually satisfied with what I can find. If you are looking to shop in store before ordering miniatures online. It's a great place to check. read more

Parking might suck, but the shop looks really clean and cool. Big space and lots of tables to play on. Lots of board games, dice, peripherals, DnD and Pathfinder books, and they stock Reaper miniatures that are actually worth a damn to buy. Also they have cats roaming around. read more

I recently discovered this Friendly Local Gaming Store and could not be happier. The staff is friendly and have great game recommendations (thanks Charles for the tip on Star Realms!). The store is clean and well lit with a comfortable gaming area. There are a number of great gaming and crafting events on the calendar and they have a large demo game library. To be honest, I have not had this great of an experience at a game store in years since the Game Arena in Cerritos closed. This is a store run by gamers for gamers. It's a great place to browse, play and buy games. Forget amazon, I'm buying my games from The Guild House from here on out. Support your local game store!
