    Seafood gumbo
    Melissa S.

Worth the trip! The seafood gumbo is sooo good and next time I'm going to try the gumbo royale. The seafood gumbo has shrimp, scallops, crawfish, oysters, and plenty of vegetables. The wings were seasoned and crispy and with good flavor and not swimming in sauce. Please try the dirty creek drink - peach and raspberry with tea. So refreshing!!

I had the tacos and seafood gumbo! It's absolutely delicious so GO!

Me and my daughter wanted something warm and cozy to eat since it was cold outside and decided to go here. A coworker referred them and the food is delicious! I'll be back!

This guy's Gumbo is off the hook! My husband and I had this fresh tasting delight last night for dinner. We were in the mood for Creole and this guys dinners are fresh and medium spiced. He makes an amazing remoulade and his own spice mix that's just the right hit for this five star food truck lip smackin good gumbo. On top of all that, he is just a good guy who happens to feed and care for 145 homeless men at the shelter he runs. He and his family give back to our community, run a great food truck and enjoy the famished fellow foodie friends who leave full and smiling. PS- He also sells his gumbo by the quart for any special occasion you might need something a little out of the ordinary to impress your guests with! Thank you Mr. Gumbo for what you do! Keep on keep'n on!

It was EH, I say that because the wings were nice sized, fresh n hot. I didn't say they were seasoned but they at least they were flour coated. However I came for the gumbo! I ordered 2 because I pay my babysitter in food (per her idea not mine). They put the gumbo in these odd containers that had 2 sides to it (but for like sandwiches not stew). When I tasted it I'm gonna say that it just wasn't all that! It did have a lot of tiny salad shrimp that don't hold much flavor if that's what you like. But Cajun no, Creole where.... I'm sorry I didn't try anything else because I feel like your staple dish was too mediocre! Go to New Orleans and collect some recipes or something! And this my second trip the 1st time the site said they were open and were not!! 2 gumbo with corn and wings $34

I'm so glad I found this food truck! There is parking but no tables to sit down and eat after you order. I got the Gumbo burger and the chicken, sausage, and seafood gumbo. The burger was really really good. Three types of meat in one burger, and it was steaming hot off the grill. As for the gumbo, I got the platter size but it is still not very large at all. I wish they have a bigger size than the platter. The gumbo was good but not very hot. It was warm but I felt like if I had microwaved it a bit it would be better. Overall, great gumbo place for when you get that southern food craving!

This food truck is only open on weekends. My husband and I would pass this daily and talk about how much we wanted to try it. Finally we were able to! The owners are a small little family and they are all extremely nice! They give it the feeling that the food truck is their dream. That alone makes me want to keep going back to support them. I ended up ordering 2 of the chicken, sausage, and seafood gumbo platters. The platters come with corn and a breadstick. Since I was ordering for both my husband and myself I also got one of their peach raspberry lemonades and homemade sweet teas. The drive home was horrible because I had to smell the delicious food the whole time. When I was finally able to try the food, I was over the moon! It was delicious! If I'm ever in the gumbo mood, this will be the place I go! I'm also interested in trying their gumbo burger! Im generally just super excited about this place and can't wait to go back!

The girlfriend and I went there last Saturday and had gumbo and onion rings. The wait was very short and the food was great

Kind, personable, and genuinely warm exactly the kind of energy that makes a meal feel like more than just a meal. If you've seen The Menu, you know that scene where all anyone really wants is just a perfect, unpretentious burger done right. Thurman's is exactly that. The burger was everything it needed to be no gimmicks, no shortcuts, just a beautifully made sandwich that delivers on every level. The fries? Equally on point. Honestly, I have no notes. None. This is the kind of place that reminds you why simple food, done exceptionally well, will always win. If you haven't been, go. If you have, you already know.

The beauty of a Saturday afternoon is there were sports on and TVs hanging on the walls. That made the wait easy. Boy do they know their stuff bc it was pretty much one hour to the minute when they called our name and escorted us to our table. We sat in a booth and took in on the collection of various items around the bar that have been gathered through the years and had some laughs at some of it. It was almost like a fun game of eye spy! They came to take our drink order and by the time they returned we were ready to order. We chatted for a bit and our food came out in what seemed to be a good time. I ordered the Patty Melt with onion straws. My husband got the Thurman Burger. We were surprised by its size when they came carrying it out to our table. Believe it or not he ate every single bite. Said it was delicious. Mine was equally as delicious. Maybe not quite as big but that was fine by me. I actually quite enjoyed that they served the 1000 island on the side. It made it way easier to eat. The cheese was nice and gooey. Just perfect. The onion straws were good too. I shared those with my husband. They were actually just as good on their own as they were dipped in any kind of sauce. That's big coming from me bc I love dipping! We got a box for our leftovers and headed out happy with a great first time experience here.

Wanting wings, I ordered the Garlic Parmesan and tots. They offer grilled or fried and I thought I ordered fried but these tasted more like grilled. I was wanting that fried crunch but got more of a well cooked bite with a creamy garlic white sauce, then sprinkled with Parmesan. It was still good but when you're expecting crunch, it's slightly disappointing. Still a good wing but I wouldn't put it in the top 5. The tots, now they made up for the crunch. The Blue Cheese was exactly what I like, sweeter with a little funk. Maybe I should've specified fried. Wings are an indulgence to me. I don't want the healthy version. I want that crunchy-Lipitor sponsored-defibrillator on stand by-I can see my blood flowing-We'll start the diet Monday goodness that only a perfectly fried wing can offer. Still good tho.

No exaggeration, this was one of the best chicken Parmesans I've ever had, and that includes versions from legit Italian restaurants. The chicken cutlet was super crispy and perfectly seasoned, with a coating that was flavorful and satisfying without being too heavy. The portion size was just right, not too big, not too small. I appreciated that the mozzarella on top was fresh and sliced, not the usual shredded kind. The sauces (yes, plural!) were rich and full of flavor, tying everything together beautifully. The only thing I think it was missing? Some garlic bread of some sort to go with it. That would've made it perfect. But honestly, it was still a fantastic dish on its own. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're anywhere near East Market. I'm already looking forward to going back and seeing what else is good on their menu.

Arrived approximately 3:30pm - restaurant basically empty (maybe 5 tables total occupied). Went to check in for 2 and the host said he had reservations at 5. Huh? So I asked do you mean you can't seat us until 5? And he said no, that we need to leave by then because other people are coming. I thought that was very weird and unprofessional. I've never had an experience like that before. It's a basic sit down place, why would you think we'd linger for more than an hour and a half? Whatever, weird feeling, but we were seated. Seated in the walkway. Not like in a path but literally blocking the walkway where you step down. Why do I say this? Because people walking by kept banging into me. Not their fault. Why is there a table there? And why were we seated there when at least 80% of the restaurant was empty???? Ok whatever. Ordered food including their signature made in-house tots. Waitress comes back and says they were slammed in the morning and they're out of tots. (Man I feel bad for the people coming at 5. LOL) whatever except the people at the next table appeared to be served tots. Food was tasteless. The Mac and cheese had a weird texture like the roux wasn't cooked properly. My patty melt was mostly bread as the patty was too small for the bread. My husband had the signature chimi burger and it completely lacked any chimichurri flavor. Like at all. We were out by 4ish (plenty of time for them to prepare for their expected onslaught) and needless to say I've unbookmarked this place from my yelp. Maybe we'll try the Mexican place across the street next time. ‍
