Decent but I don't think it was worth it. The worker was very kind and our food was ready in a decent time. The catfish came very hot and fresh but it had a lot of extra crispy sides to it that isn't worth eating and you can tell the grease it was fried in was dirty and/or old because it has that old old burnt specks on it. The sides are kind of small for 5 dollars each and the collard greens seemed like a lot of juice. For the price I would expect a little more. The fries were pretty good though. read more

We have a love affair going with the East market. So many choices. Easy parking. My daughter has had creole 2 greaux many times . They cater lunches where she works, as she says "I love everything they make!" My first time at their stall, it was late and all they had left was catfish and dirty rice. So we both got that. I love catfish and theirs was exceptional. The rice was so tasty. A week later we took a group of visiting relatives and they got various dishes and all raved about the food. My only negative comment is about the seating upstairs. The side with the regular tables and chairs is too dark. The rest of the rooms have high tops and decent lighting. This is a nice spot near North Market. We did have to park across the street in the garage then walk there. The atmosphere was nice, and they had these cool painted tiles and artwork around the restaurant. The guy behind the counter was helpful while we were ordering as well. I had never had a shrimp po boy before, so I wanted to try that. I was glad I had it here, and they were not stingy with the shrimp. The fries were very seasoned and delicious. The jerk chicken egg roll was super yummy and had a good amount of spice. I also usually don't like okra, but their fried okra was really good. Next time I will need to try a bowl! read more

I absolutely love Creole 2 Geaux, I try to get their special Po Boys as often as I can. They make everything fresh right behind the counter and you can see them do it. I've had few things off their menu and a few staff recommendations, they have never steered me wrong. I've not once had a bad meal from here. The vibe of their stand in the East Market is very cute and very on brand with the Louisiana vibe. Their work area looks very cleans and the staff are very nice. The food comes out hot and the wait is never that terrible. If there is a bit of wait, trust me that it's worth it and you should totally stop by if you're in the area! read more

We had the shrimp po boy with fries, the Bourbon chicken with spicy & regular rice, a chicken parm egg roll & fried okra. A solid smorgasbord. Food was pricy (north of $40) but was a hearty meal that had leftovers. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our food, making our food fresh to order. The fries and po boy were knockout flavor. Absolutely no notes, it was actually incredible. Second best po boy I've ever had. Fries were seasoned well and fresh as hell. Chicken parm egg roll was fun but a bit lackluster, okra serviced well too. The bourbon chicken is the first thing you see on the somewhat limited menu, making it the standout. Unfortunately for me, it was the opposite on flavor. The chicken mix was super sweet, which was a big disappointment. My partner didn't mind it, especially mixed with the rice (which we both liked) but it was super disappointing since it was the first bourbon chicken Ive had that I didn't enjoy. Overall this place has a lot to offer in terms of flavor, which left us both overall positive with our time. The East Market is similar to North Market, lots of small businesses. First time there, ordered Bourbon Chicken with Half & Half Rice and shrimp w/ a buffalo chicken roll on the side. The customer service was great, placed my order and waited maybe 10mns. However the food was mediocre at best. Visiting the East Market first time and Creole 2 Geaux just stood out to me. Stood front of the place looking at the menu and just couldn't decide what to order because everything sounded great, plus I was hungry. So I went with the Bourbon chicken and was asked if I wanted white rice or Spicy rice, I picked spicy. The guy that took my order wasn't friendly nor was he rude. He was just very indifferent to what he was doing. It took about less then 5 minutes to get my food. I was super excited, but the excitement didn't last that long. The food came in a small container and when I opened the container, there wasn't that much food in it. The food was very sweet. I expected it to be a little sweet, but the sweet level was too much for my liking. Also, I don't know if they made a mistake or not, but the rice had no spice to it at all. I couldn't tell if they made mistake and gave me just white rice instead of the spicy rice because the rice was all mixed up with the sauce. My meal was just ok, could have been better if there was a little more seasoning. Maybe other items are better then the Bourbon chicken but I don't see myself driving all the way out to East Market to try this place again. read more

I've been thinking about Cajun food, so this jumped out at me. Although there are plenty of other options in the East Market. Interesting menu, the usual stuff. A standard menu plus daily specials. I got a special, red beans and rice bowl, and added sausage. And you can pick spicy or regular rice. I got half-and-half. Spicy rice has a little heat but it's not crazy. But I like spicy, so YMMV. There's loads of sausage on top, good flavor in that. Red beans were good. Sprinkled with green onions. Just a really good bowl. Lots of other things on the menu looked good. They have a small drink cooler. Prices are reasonable, and the wait time was short. Definitely coming back. read more

I don't know what kind of voodoo magic they put into the food, but everything I've tried from here is absolutely delicious. She will not give you food that is not up to her standards. We met Janviérr when Creole to Geaux was first opening at East Market and she has always jumped right out to get our pictures taken together. We brought our cousin today, to celebrate her birthday lunch and it truly was a celebration. We had the Jambalaya Mac-n-cheese, the Shrimp Etouffe and the Creole Bowl with Chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our cousin was impressed and wants to bring everyone she knows back. We tell everyone we know about this absolute gem at East Market. I ate food from Creole 2 Geaux during my first visit to the East Market in Columbus and the good food and good service definitely contributed to me and the rest of my group wanting to go back to East Market in the future. We ordered the Bourbon Chicken and the portions definitely lent to leftovers. The chicken was juicy and smothered in sauce and topped with some perky chopped green onions and the rice was soft and delectable. We also got an order of beignets and they were sweet and delicious and left me craving more. Even when the server forgot to give me a plastic fork with my order and I had to go back and ask for one, she was super nice and apologetic and even got me a handful of napkins with my fork. I love bourbon chicken. So much so that I learned to cook it at home. The recipe I use includes bourbon. It takes even better than the mall bourbon chicken. What this restaurant calls bourbon chicken tastes nothing like real bourbon chicken. I taste no bourbon flavor. They add the chicken to a sweet Thai chili like sauce. The chicken was not marinated at all which is an important step for this dish. I got it with the spicy rice which was decent. This dish should be called "Thai chili chicken over rice." Which I BELIVE is the chef test because catfish can tase like mudwater and grits can be gritty and flavorless. Service was good, the two gentleman working yesterday were very nice and the food came out quickly. We got bourbon chicken, white rice and egg rolls that had chicken and red beans and rice in them. The egg rolls, which I believe were made from a separate vendor based on the signage, were amazing and came with a great sauce. The bourbon chicken, lacked any definable sauce, we got shrimp on it as well, all of it was seasoned well but lacked a dark sauce and lacked a depth of flavor. It was more like someone making a healthy alternative to bourbon chicken and shrimp, like a home cook or something than it was a dish I would crave that had a lot of flavor. I wouldn't return and wish to order it and I would not return to order something else, the best thing they served was something that their business, seemingly didn't produce other than serving it to us. I LOVE me a good po boy, so I was ecstatic when I came across this place for my first visit to East Market. Service was excellent. The employees were friendly (smiled and greeted customers that felt genuine) and worked quickly for how busy the stand was. I really really wanted to like this place, but their po boy just wasn't doing it for me. What really makes or breaks a po boy is honestly the bread. The French baguette did not have that perfect balance of flaky crunchy crust with soft chewiness on the inside. It was just soft bread that reminded me more of a dinner bread roll. I did not particularly care for the mayo-based sauce or the shrimp seasoning that didn't really "pop" with flavor. I think it needed more salt. The fries looked like they would taste really good as Cajun fries since there was a reddish powder coating the fries, but they were pretty flavorless. At the same or lower price point, there are other Cajun joints I'd turn to first...at least for po boys. It seems like people like some of their other dishes so I'd give this place another shot for something other than a po boy. read more
