I've been wanting to try this place for a while, but I never seem to be on that side of town on the days that they are open. I finally made it today. Shrimp lips is a small building. Looks like it was probably an old ice cream shop at one time. We ordered online, which was quite easy. Our food was ready when we arrived. There is no inside seating and you pick up your food at the window. You have to ring a bell for service which I had a hard time finding at first, but then located it on the right window. You pick up your food from the left window. The lady at the counter was very nice and thanked me for my business. Now let's get on to the food. I ordered the half portion of shrimp with two sides. I chose the corn and the potato. My shrimp food was very filling and good. Corn was sweet and red skin potato was also good. Hubby ordered the fried tilapia which came with fries and three hush puppies. Those were two big pieces of fish. He also enjoyed it. However, for the price point, he felt they should have better hot sauce, at least Texas Pete, not generic. They do have a private parking lot and we sat in the car and ate our food. This food truck is incredible! During Food Truck Festival, this was the first truck that we stopped by to check out after doing some initial research. When we arrived, they had a big line, so the assumption was the food had to be good. The menu was very extensive for a food truck, and we opted for the Lobster Fries. Oh. My. God. I'd been hearing about this place, when it was a food truck, but never seen it at gatherings and don't get down to Parsons often anymore. Now they have a little old ice cream stand building and today I happened to drive by it. Lots on the menu looked good. Tried to get stuff Baby K would eat. They said the seasoning isn't hot, and it wasn't. Flavorful, but not spicy. Ended up with a half shrimp, with fries and a half cob of corn; added Cajun egg and sausage, and mac, and took greens, and red beans and rice, home for Sweetie. The shrimp were amazing. Big ones, perfectly cooked, lightly seasoned. I think it was Baby K's first time trying fried shrimp, and she kept saying "I want to eat these every day!" The fries were also lightly seasoned, thick, perfectly cooked. Yum. The corn had seasoning on it too, and was very good. The Cajun egg was a hard boiled egg with seasoning on it; the sausage a short link of mild sausage with some seasoning on top. Both good, though not as great as the shrimp and fries. The greens had sausage and okra in them; I liked them, but Sweetie isn't an okra fan. The red beans and rice were a bit spicy for her but good, and she ate them all so I can't comment on the heat level. The mac and cheese (plain, not lobster) was very good. Creamy, tasty. A little seasoning sprinkled on top. Wish it was closer. I want to try everything else here. Service was great. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. The prices are a little steep for anyone who just want something quick but considering I want a great food and supporting local black businesses, the price didn't matter. I wanted some fish and shrimp so that's what I got! I ordered the Fish and Shrimp platter and a small lobster mac n' cheese and let me tell you, it was delicious! Delicious. The half shrimp platter is plenty of food, and everything is made fresh when you order. They do have the option of ordering online, but I only waited maybe 10 minutes on a Friday afternoon. The shrimp are juicy and the fry batter is nice and crunchy, the fries are well-made, and even the broccoli is delicious without cheese sauce. After delivering cartons of produce for #foodrescuecbus I found myself southeast of the city. I checked the map and found that Shrimp Lips could be on my way home! The menu looked great and I will be back to try several other seafood items, and bring my husband for the fried shrimp Philly Sandwich or chicken wings. Crawfish Philly and fries. Bread was toasted and tasty, with leaves of spring mix dressing the sandwich. The coating on the crawfish was just right, not salty, and meat is tender. My husband also got 2 Cajun eggs-boiled egg with Cajun butter and seasoning, he loved those! The red Cajun sauce drizzled on sandwich was just enough, as well as the Mayo/white sauce. The diced white onion was a surprise (not disclosed) and honestly would have elected NONE as our preference is Vidalia sweet and white onion is overpowering and the flavor lingers on your breath hours later. I came here after it was highly recommended. I went on their IG to see what their food looked like and make sure they were open. Their IG was current and they even posted daily specials. Today's special was shrimp and crab pasta. Looked amazing. I went on the website to order but since it was a special, they didn't have it listed and they didn't take phone orders. So I ordered the lobster fries on the app and figured I'd just order the pasta in person. I get there, order the pasta and pick up the fries. Though the fries were good, I'm 90% sure they were crab fries and not lobster. Sauce was good, they had flavor, just not something I'd get again. Took about 20 mins for the pasta. I was quite surprised when I opened it as it did not look like the picture at all! The picture is linguine and they gave me penne pasta. So I flew in recently and found this Black owned business. My job has crazy hectic hours so I used grubhub to order the 1/2 combo. Based of the pictures, I thought I was getting an ok deal for $18.99. The delivery was fine however when I opened the styrofoam platter, it was very....poor I had about 5 jumbo shrimp, literally TWO snow crab legs with a claw, and one corn. (The potato that is pictured on this app was NOT on my plate.) I also ordered a side of "special sauce" for $1.50 extra. The seafood itself isn't necessarily seasoned (like the shrimp *which was good* but plain) I had to dip the shrimp in the sauce for flavor. The crab legs were small, the sausage was good but super soft, and the corn was ok. If anything, maybe the should drizzle the food with sauce in addition to selling it on the side. I was thinking it would be similar to a crab boil but it's not. For what I got, I wouldn't have paid more than $12 for it in Carolina. read more

When picking up my order, I was waiting behind someone else, another person walks up on the side of me and is noticed and given their food before me *side eye* Once at the "pick up" window, I was asked for the last four digits, provided the digits for my card used, they cld not find my order, low and behold they really wanted the last four digits of my phone number. Without question, this is one of the unsung premier food establishments in central Ohio. Authentic cajun seafood cooking you're not going to find anywhere near here. Even during COVID, in spite of the high demand for their food, they have kept service flowing. The one star knock is for consistency. A little too up and down on the mix of spices, side recipes, etc. Part of the charm of Shrimp Lips is that this food is handmade and subtle taste variances are quite welcome, but a dish's flavor cannot stray too far from its main character. For what you get quality and quantity wise, the food is reasonably priced. If you're comparing it to Popeye's, it's pricy but the two are in different Cajun leagues. Shrimp Lips is in the majors and it wouldn't be surprising if they grew into a more posh sit down establishment. Grab some tasty Shrimp Lips now. First I was a little skeptical of buying seafood off a food truck, but I am glad i did its good quality seafood. The food had real good flavor and customer service was great. I order the shrimp lips platter which came with a lobster tail fried or steamed, 7 shrimp, 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and a sausage. I was a little disappointed because i only received 5 shrimp instead of the 7 that came with the meal. Fried lobster was my least favorite item. The texture and tenderness was not what I expected it to be. I also order a cheese steak sandwich which was good and full of flavor. The Cod fish meal was also good and packed full of flavor.
