I still love this gym. There is new ownership, and they are doing a great job in remodeling the gym and adding a lot of new equipment that powerlifters would love. Lines of squat racks, deadlift jacks, many barbells of different weights and thickness (squat bar, deadlift bar, and power bar), and calibrated weights. I noticed the gym has gotten more popular, but even when it has more foot traffic, all the machines are still easily accessible and I hardly ever have to wait for anybody. The only thing my fiancé and I might get stuck waiting on is the stair stepper because there's one. Hopefully they add another and then they'd be set. Oh, and they also have a meal prep service called Fit N Prep, where members can order to pick up healthy, macro-counted foods that are freshly prepared and packaged. Many friends have tried them and say they taste great. Overall I still enjoy going here so I highly recommend it.

Great variety of equipment, but needs to be redone. The locker rooms are old and I would never step food in the showers.

I…read morefinally have a regular schedule with Nick, but I started out going to random sessions throughout the week, based on my schedule abs his availability. I always found him to be very flexible with me. The sessions don't come cheap, but hey, you get what you pay for. That's a common theme in life. Don't forget it. Nick monitors my progress but is also very open when it comes to movements and weights. Some days I have knee pain, some days I don't. If the weight looks easy, he will increase the reps or the weight. Sometimes I am the one who says I can do more weight, and he increases it. Sometimes I am tired and sore and he asks me how I'm doing/feeling and makes adjustments based on that. I've never been injured working with Nick. He watches my movements and corrects me as needed. He asks me if and what I've trained outside of the gym so he can tailor my workout to areas I've missed. I enjoy conversing with Nick as I train. The studio is private, so my sessions are always one on one, but the gym is a membership only place, so occasionally there are other people working out. The personal training clients get first dibs on the equipment when with Nick, but there is enough stuff and space that we are never negotiating with other people. He moved to a new gym space recently and it's more spacious than the prior spot. He also has gathered more equipment. Parking is way better now too and there are separate male and female bathrooms. I'd say the new place is a major upgrade. I only do the personal training. So while I can't speak for the gym membership, what I know is- the price is reasonable, you get 24 hour access with scheduled appointment (so the gym isn't overbooked) and there are security cameras for your safety. Check his page on IG for more info, @theweighthouse and his website theweighthouse.com as well. He also has some fantastic merch for sale.

The equipment here is top-notch, and the members are super friendly (except for that one girl who's always in the way with her jump rope - jk that's me.) I never knew working out could be so entertaining. The members are like a cast of characters straight out of a sitcom. There's the guy who grunts so loudly you'd think he's summoning a demon, and the woman who is always in a matching sports bra and legging set (seriously, how does she do it that early in the morning?), the girl with head phones in, but is always listening and our beloved neat freak keeping us all in check when we didn't re-rack our weights that one time. No matter who you encounter, you're sure to have a good time. If you're ready to be prepared to laugh so hard you might accidentally drop a weight on your foot - join us. Good thing there's a strict shoe wearing policy...

Not sure if it's the carpet or the ventilation system, but it does have a smell in various areas. I believe some of the smell is due to lockers that do not appear to have been opened in months based on the dust on some of the locks. (See picture. In the past, I was told if members pay their monthly locker charge, there is nothing they can do to alleviate any odors coming from a locker.) The men's steam room had been closed for almost two years as they are "renovating" it. Earlier this year, a sign was posted stating a new boiler was needed and they were requesting donations. (Dues just went up $4/month.) In addition, there are no staff members walking around the Strength Circuit equipment area in the evenings and some members stay at one machine for 10 minutes or longer. They even scroll on their phones even though signs are posted to be "courteous" of others who may want to use the machine. (See picture.) These signs were smaller and posted on each machine, but they seemed to have "disappeared". I have had to repeatedly ask if I could "work in" as some members think they own the machine. Not sure why members have to constantly ask to "work in". Shouldn't the offending members have some responsibilities to follow the rules?!! This past week, I had enough. I addressed one member who constantly uses one machine and scrolls on his phone consistently. I asked if I could work in. He said he had one more rep and didn't realize I wanted in. (This is not the first time he's told me this.) I told him he had been on the machine over 10 minutes and saw me walk by numerous times. Also, I stated scrolling on the phone is not allowed given the signs in this area. I just walked away. Another member (who is a long-time member like me) was at the machine next to him, heard what I said and thanked me. She said he is one of the worst offenders, but there are others just like him. She noted the courtesy rule is 3 reps and move on, plus no scrolling on the phone. She added respect seems to be missing from this gym. Amen! Obviously, management needs to do a better job of handling this situation as a few small signs are not deterring the problem.
