My coworkers and I ordered here for the first time for our lunch hour as takeout. The app made it so easy to order our lunch. I got the chicken Gyro platter and my coworker got the beef and lamb Gyro platter. Everything was so fresh and so flavorful we were blown away. My coworker who nearly hates everything told me that this was one of the best dishes she's ever had and that means a lot. We finished everything. For dessert we got the vanilla soft serve, I got the deconstructed baklava, soft serve, and she got the Nutella one. We will keep coming over and over again. We love this place!

Just WOW! So glad I stumbled upon the gyro project. We got the deconstructed baklava froyo (if you're aware of the froyo situation in nyc it's sparse) which was big enough for two. The coffee selection also seemed delicious, would love to try their fredo capp the next time. It's nice to have more options for fast casual dining in the area

I've been a fan of Gyro Project, including their newer location in Murray Hill/Kips Bay Area, on the corner of 34th/1st Avenue. I often order a bowl with: base of half cabbage/ half rice (or all cabbage), chicken souvlaki (quantity varies, either 3 or 4 small pieces of chicken), dolmades (2), lemon potatoes (2 halves, felt skimpy)... babaganoush, tzatziki and pita on the side for $15.95 plus tax, over $17. The bowl was yummy but didn't feel like a lot of food. Comparing GP to other places like taim (chicken platter $13.95) or Brasa (chicken bowl $14.90) which offer similar quality, larger portions, with more toppings and sauces included at slightly lower price. I will definitely continue eating Gyro Project, but recommend maybe include more toppings at the base price. I feel like their other locations have filled the bowl with more food than this location. Shout out to Rah, great energy, friendly and personable. He makes sure everyone is having a great experience and understands the menu. He's a gem!!! (4 star overall, but 3 star for food quantity which has been the same amount the last 3 times I ordered at this location). I have seen photos on Yelp and IG with bowls filled to the top... and that's what I expect and experienced at other locations in the past.

Food service was amazing even got a few recommendations for Desert (Go with the frozen yogurt) The store is well unkept and serving stations seemed to be cleaned regularly.

This newly opened casual Greek spot is perfect if you want a filling and delicious quick meal. They have gyros, bowls, and a number of different appetizers and entrees. Service here is so sweet, when you are unsure of what to order. And, there's plenty of seating for you to enjoy your food at. I got their customizable greek bowl (~$16) and thought it was absolutely delicious. I got some rice, salad, and slaw for my base (which I enjoyed as it didn't leave me feeling too heavy), their beef and lamb was so flavorful, and all of their toppings were freshly made. I also got their baklava froyo at the end and loved the honey in it. The tartness of the froyo would probably place as one of the top/my favorites in New York. Would definitely come back.

I love the great taste of the Gyro Project! My experiences have always been positive. This new location is just another great addition; the service was quick and easy, and the atmosphere is always nice, booming with Greek music. I can't recommend this place enough. You have to try this spot if you really enjoy Mediterranean food like I do: roasted dishes with a zesty kick, plus plenty of carbs, vegetables, and protein. It's a well-balanced meal all around. In that cookie, brownie thing is just out of this world!

Super friendly staff, clean, and has one bathroom Location is right across the street from NYU so this location will thrive as a lunch spot for the doctors/nurses/visitors to the hospital The food here is fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The store has a few tables and chairs, including bar height seating for a quick lunch time meal

Tried Taverna before (sister restaurant) so I knew this was going to be good and it indeed was. Quality of food is soooo good here--idk what they do to their beef and lamb gyro but it's always consistently cooked perfectly, super juicy and moist. One of the best gyro meats I've ever had and that's not even what I order (my boyfriend gets it and I steal a bunch haha). I love that the bowl comes with greek slaw too. I got the chicken souvlaki with tzatziki and love it in the pita! We also tried the greek goddess which is like a pesto, I could see it being good in a salad but prob would skip next time since I love the tzatziki so much more. We got their in house teas--I liked the peach tea. Do not skip on the froyo. I got the froyo (OG) with Greek yogurt and holy molyyyyy it's amazing. We had a great experience with service as well, the manager(?) treated us very well. The place stayed busy throughout our time eating here and they only opened a month ago so good for them! Definitely coming back!!!

I got the email today we are in! 03/17/26

The Gyro Project 34th Street 1st Avenue After being introduced to this business by attending a Yelp event I'd like to review it from a paying customer perspective. I took my daughter along and we brought our food home. The location is on a corner right across from my hospital. my oncologist and many other medical offices I visit are very close. I'm saying this as it is a busy experience during peak l meal times. Food: We shared everything including the extra Bakery Items I purchased. When we go to our other favorite Mediterranean restaurant a bowl gets two meals. We did not have that ability with the amount provided here for the price. The Greek Caesar Salad has a $5 charge for chicken. We added macaroni and our own chicken to the second serving of the Gyro Bowl. Four Stars Service Description: The amount of employees was amazing. They were professional, friendly and kept things moving. The line gets long so know what you want ahead of time. Everything was perfectly packaged to go home. Check out employees were smiling, friendly and gathered my baked items and extra pita quickly for my to go bag. Pay with touch screen and Visa card was quick. Five Stars Atmosphere: There's plenty of seating if you want to eat here. The business is clean, comfortable and has a pleasant atmosphere. I'd sit in the back away from the door and food line. There's stools in the front if you prefer to sit at the counter. Five Stars Recommendation: I'm sure prices have gone up at my favorite Mediterranean restaurant but I would prefer to go there rather than return here. I'm not saying I won't return. I suggest you visit The Gyro Project and decide for yourself. Please Do a review!

I came in here for an elite event. This is my fourth euro project that I've been to my second elite event with them. I don't need an elite event to want to come and grab from here. The food is always so so good. This location is far east and close to the hospitals. It's a smaller location but don't be fooled it had Greek music blasting and that's my jam. It was super clean, busy and well organized. The staff was great and the food was super fresh.

A great place to eat and from seeing the interactions among the staff, a great place to work. I was here for a Yelp event and the kindness shared with me is extended to all. Everyone is greeted when they walk in! The staff is professional and friendly, the counter and table seating areas are clean, and how better to enjoy a pita than listening to Greek music. The chicken souvlaki (all white meat) was tender and juicy and the added hand-cut fries, tzatziki sauce, and seasoning made each bite a delight. Not sure if I'd like it, but I tried something new with the traditional TGP classic dessert of tart vanilla froyo with EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and sea salt. The perfect mouth refresher after a delicious meal. Thank you to Stavros and staff for another success!

I came here for a yelp event when I needed dinner after a nearby event. A delicious meal! The bowl was well balanced and flavorful. The chicken came right out of the frier for me. And the fro yo was tart and perfect! YUM!

This place is ok. Flavors are good but portions have been progressively decreasing and prices are higher than similar establishments.

A wonderful little Greek restaurant with authentic flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We…read moreordered the mussels, moussaka, and whole grilled tsipura (sea bream), and every dish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of traditional Mediterranean flavor. The mussels were tender and served in a delicious, flavorful broth. The moussaka was rich, creamy, and clearly homemade. The grilled tsipura was incredibly fresh, cooked perfectly, and simply seasoned to let the quality of the fish shine. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the overall experience felt genuine and relaxing. If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine made with care, this place is definitely worth visiting. We'll definitely be back!

Busy for Monday evening. Felt like I stepped into Greece…read more I started with the complimentary bread, it was good. The crust was a little hard but I liked the fresh spread, I would recommend adding some olive oil, salt and pepper for more flavor. I got the traditional Greek salad. The salad was good. I love the tomatoes they tasted fresh. Though found myself wanting to add more salt and pepper for more flavor to pop. The dressing was good for dipping the bread in too. The octopus was delicious. Very fresh. Good portion. It was seared perfectly. I love how it was cut for me too, nice and tender. Not too chewy. The dill and capers were a nice touch. Seems the staff remember familiar faces, very friendly and all Greek. Altogether it was $64 which I find very pricey. The octopus was priced at $31 which wasn't bad. But the salad being $28 seems extreme. Overall a nice experience. Bit of a wait for the food
