After spice shopping at Valley Foods, I had an idea of having baklava as a post-prandial treat. Habibi Sweets is only three years old, replacing another store that also sold Mediterranean & Middle Eastern desserts. I'm pretty sure I've eaten their sweets - I just don't remember the old shop's name. Habibi Sweets, on the other hand, with their assortment of baklavas and Turkish Delights gave me a teasing taste of one of their more popular confections. My order included two rolled green-colored baklavas, One Almond dough pastry brimming with nuts and seeds, a coconut.TD, and for the pièce de résistance, this dark red Rose Petal Turkish Delight that was to die for! I remember my foray into chewy Turkish delights 25 years ago and this one was beyond delightful! Plus, it's non-GMO and Gluten-free! And there's more! The friendly staff, namely Zina gave me a small free box of even more assortment of baklavas to try which will surely be shared with my family.

This place is a great find! Huge selection and everything was delicious. The blueberry cake was spectacular. Very friendly owner who was helpful in making our selections.

I was surprised at the huge variety of sweet treats they had available here. The interior is brightly lit and there are a couple of tables to enjoy your desserts if you wish. One employee was very friendly and helped us out. We got two bars of Dubai chocolate. It was $15 for 1 and $25 for 2. So it costs a pretty penny, but it was very delicious. I would definitely revisit in the future to try more things from here.

I was nearby and wanted some Dubai chocolate and saw it was sold here. I bought one bar as well as the chocolate strawberries. You can definitely taste the pistachio more in the bar vs the strawberries. I wish it was a bit more crunchy. Decent if you're looking to try it but it is expensive, $15 for 1 bar or $25 for 2.

Hands down best deserts I've ever had. The Turkish coffee is incredible. The employees are so accommodating and kind. The selection can be overwhelming, but try everything. There's a great place to take pictures on the wall and the setting is adorable. The seating is cafe style and a great spot for a sweet treat. I'll definitely be coming back when I visit again. Dubai chocolate? Yes, please! Baklava that's not swimming in syrup? Absolutely! Turkish delight? You don't have to ask me twice! Turkish coffee? Why, don't mind if I do! Clean and friendly lounge to sit & enjoy heavenly sweets & coffe/tea/smoothie? I'm there! Did I mention that we've been coming here 2-3 times/per week?

I tried knafeh for the first time in the past year and immediately loved the delicious combination of cheese, nuts, and honey as well as the texture. When I saw it in a portable chocolate form I knew I had to find it! But this place actually specializes in more delicious treats - baklava! Loved all the variations and even got some that were served with warm - sooo good! Also, will say service was really great and helpful! The shop itself is also super cute!

Excellent customer service today. I didn't know what to get and the kind gentleman just picked a pound of random baklava for me to sample. I also came to try the viral Dubai chocolate bar! They only have the bar in milk or white chocolate. Dark chocolate wasn't an option. My son and I ate half of the chocolate bar before coming home. The different textures, pistachio butter and milk chocolate was a match made in heaven. It's the first time we tried the bar so we didn't know what to expect. My only regret was not buying more than one bar! The baklava was really sweet, but still delicious! I mean, what do you expect from the sugary treat! I would come back to try all their desserts. I didn't get a chance to try their cakes but the baklava and Dubai chocolate bar was worth the 30 minute drive!

Came here to get the viral Dubai chocolate cuz it was a major pregnancy craving and it was the absolute worst chocolate ever better off eating chocolate from the dollar tree. There was barely any pistachio filling u couldn't even taste it. The chocolate was very low quality as well and nasty. Was very disappointed especially seeing on tik tok how other places make it. They are taking advantage of people especially charging $15 for it when it's not even good quality. read more

When a walked in a young gal had me try this delicious dessert that she took right out the oven. It was so buttery and sweet with cream cheese. There was quite the variety including some fancy desserts that looked French style. I bought the Turkish delights and they were the best I have ever had. I picked a variety of desserts to take home but since I cannot pronounce or remember the names I will just dream about them. One was like a yogurt filling and orange flakes on top and it was so good. I will be back and try some more. read more

I usually don't leave reviews, but my recent experience at Habibi Sweet compelled me to share. On 5/15/24, I purchased a plate of Znood Sit for $10.40. The plate was full and the taste was, as always, absolutely delicious. However, today I went back to buy the same plate. This time, there wasn't enough Znood Sit to fill the tray--almost an entire line was missing. Despite this, I was charged the same amount of $10.40. I asked the cashier if the pricing was by weight or by plate, and he confirmed it was by plate. I pointed out that the last time, my plate was full for the same price, and he responded that the full plate actually costs $13-something (I didn't catch the exact amount because I was in a rush). I'm not upset about the money or the missing pieces; it's about loyalty and trust. The inconsistency in pricing is disappointing and feels unfair. Despite the excellent taste of their sweets, today's experience has left me hesitant to return. read more

Delicious cakes and fresh desserts here. I ordered a heart cake and they made it for me exactly like the picture how I wanted. They made sure to make it how I wanted. Even though I ordered the cake at the last minute, they were still able to make it for me with the design that I liked and it was so beautiful. It was fresh and everyone loved it. I am really happy with their service and will only be ordering my cakes from here from now on. read more

You can't go wrong with any treat that you pick from here! There is an endless amount of options from baklava, cake, and mini pastries. The last time I stopped by I decided to get a tray of Turkish delights for a girl's night and we demolished the tray. I also bought a chocolate cake and it tasted as good as it looked. The customer service is top notch. Can't wait to come back here to try the kunafa! read more

This place has amazing sweets and desserts!!!! Tried the Dubai Chocolate Bar and the chocolate is top quality! I saw the shop and name from across the parking lot. I knew I had to see what was inside. I was greeted by the kindest man, who fed me the sweetest treats. It was my birthday and I was planning on getting brunch that day but he really handed me hot fresh pieces of baklava with a smile, saying " You have got try this!" I left with a medium tray filled with enough for the whole family. I learned so much about baklava, and this gentleman's story. You can tell he loves what he does and he's very excited to spread the love for baklava. I'm making it a mandatory stop on the way home from the casino every trip now. I can see this going over so well for birthdays, girls night, family get togethers, office potluck, everyday sweet treat. I've also rarely been given this kind of service and attention from a small business before. I was made to feel like a part of the family. Can't wait to come back! read more

After years of searching for great baklava in San Diego, I finally found it! The baklava here is fresh and absolutely delicious, with a variety of other treats that are equally impressive. Their European cakes are surprisingly excellent too--it's clear they know their craft. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. This has become my go-to spot for top-quality baklava. I've tried Baklava King, Balboa Park International Market, and many others, but nothing comes close to this place! read more

I happened to be going to FedEx to pick up some flyers. I'm a sucker for sweets and as soon as I saw their establishment with the word sweet in it, it sparked my curiosity and I had to check it out. This place is somewhat hidden from the main streets and difficult to spot. The young woman working (Fidel) was with two other customers but she welcomed me with an eye contact and a smile. One of the customer she was helping dropped their desserts and requested to repackage them in a different container. She was happy to do it politely. When it was my turn, I told her it was my first time. She then took the time to explain the desserts and gave me a walkthrough, she also answered any questions I had. She was very informative, very helpful, and genuinely sweet. I had a hard time deciding so I asked which ones are her favorites. I'm so glad I did because she did not disappoint!!! I've been to Sultan Baklava and Royal Sweets, and I actually like this place a lot better. I'm so glad I found this place because it's going to be my go to for sweet desserts. Thank you Fidel for a wonderful experience and you're top notch service!!! I really appreciated your help. read more

There are many Middle Eastern bakeries in El Cajon, and I've been to several of them. However, The Habibi Sweets stands far above the rest. I only found the place a couple weeks ago and have already been there three times! Of course, the baklava is amazing and includes ones I have never seen before. (My brother ate an entire tray by himself in one day!) They also have the most beautiful desserts, literal works of art! Yesterday I got a tray of their mini desserts for a party we were attending, and they were such a big hit! I should have got twice as many! They even have an inviting dining area where you can relax and enjoy your treats. Just as important as their delicious desserts is the amazing service. They are so very nice and helpful, not only in person but when I called to order the tray for the party. I have never received that level of customer service at any of the other bakeries, I am so thrilled to have found them. I'm definitely a customer for life! read more

Desserts: 5/5 We got a blood orange scone and a strawberry danish. The scone was warm and delicious. The orange essence was well infused. The danish was crispy and creamy. Everything was so picturesque. Food: 3/5 Unfortunately, the food was not the best. We got the smoked salmon sandwich which was not very flavorful. The salmon was also slimy. The pesto spread was good though. It was creamy and the artisan bread it was served had great variety. Ambiance: 5/5 This place is such super cute. When you walk in, the desserts all look super appetizing. The seating areas are super cute and the floral decor are stunning. Service: 5/5 It is an order then sit down establishment. There is great attention to their dessert. I saw them heat up a knife just to cleanly cut the cake. The food service however did take some time to come out.

I felt it was more of an experience as they started you with a palate cleanser and walked you through all the flavors, having you sample each one rather than you asking for specific samples like every other ice cream / gelato shop I've ever been to. They provided a description of each flavor and a sample. The flavors are definitely unique and most nothing like I've tried before. They change their menu every two weeks. There were two stations of flavors, so two parties being helped at one time. I can see how the wait can be long on weekends or summer evenings. The shop is small inside with a little bench by the window for seating and just three small tables outside. I was able to find parking a short walk away, but that could also be a challenge on a weekend. I ordered a tall cup with two flavors side by side (lingerie and ripstop). The gelato was creamy and delicious. I'd love to be able to come here again and try new flavors!

We waited about 45 minutes but we can assume it's probably less crowded during the week. As first time visitors, it takes so long because the staff is really nice and they let you try samples of their rotating daily flavors before you decide. I opted for a basic mix of vanilla & chocolate in the Junior size, with sprinkles and Reese's PB cup crumbs. Super awesome that they fill 3 layers of the toppings so you get a little something each time. It does freeze pretty well so if you don't eat it all it can last you a few days. A little bit of parking out front in the shopping area. No shade while you wait but others brought umbrellas. Lots of seats inside too. There was a bathroom but it was located in their staff area and you needed to be let in.
