Even on a Monday this place was packed. It's pretty eclectic and we never ran out of decorations to look at. Service was hit or miss depending on the bartender.

Looking for some good food while walking around. We walked in and got seated immediately. The place is cute and even had a candle for us at the table. Looks like we hit the jackpot! Both meals were absolutely amazing.

Yes, that's real stone this pub has been around for years.

Exactly what I hoped it would be - a delightful Irish pub serving true Irish Breakfast and filtered coffee and much more. The story behind the name is wonderful as is the service and the ambiance - which is chaotic in a great way, there's so much to see. Definitely worth the visit!

What a fun place to eat! Quick yet quality food for your stop in Dublin. The service was friendly and very helpful. Not too crowded for lunchtime which was nice and the decor was just so perfect for a fun little Dublin spot. The food itself was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. I would definitely go back!

UBER, typical Irish pub. Good beer on tap, stick to your rib, ribs food, matter of fact servers. Lots of tables jammed in, everybody talking. It was perfect. We went upstairs afterwards and there are so many little rooms with the couches and chairs and places to hang out and have a few drinks. What a great place.

Lots of fun. Didn't have to wait too long for a table. Big vibes. Got to sit by the big screen where they were playing a game of hurling which was fun to watch. I ordered the chicken vol au vent and asked for all salad, no chips and they were really nice about it. Food was delicious, everyone enjoyed. Even the person next to me asked what I had ordered and got the same thing! Great service with attentive staff. I see why it's so popular.

After several recommendations to stop by this pub, we decided to stop in during our rainy day for some warm food. Great spot to stop in for some Irish food. I had the bangers and mash and my friend had a sandwich and both were pretty good. Very good portions some come hungry! Coming from the US it was fun to see lots of US dollars, license plates, badges.

A wonderful experience here. Was surprisingly quiet even though it was busy. They were very accommodating and had really wonderful food. Sticky toffee pudding was creamier than I've previously had and the perfect size for a small dessert.

So here's a classic pub environment, with nightly live music, a good sized dining room, and an even bigger outside seating area. We were there early, and while it was busy, we were seated quickly. Service is fast, the bar and the kitchen are even faster. The food was flying up the dumbwaiter from the basement kitchen. I had fish and chips, my wife soup of the day and onion rings. It was all very good. I'd recommend this place for sure, and we'll be back when we come to Dublin next.

Ngl this is definitely more of a touristy spot BUT as a tourist i did really like the borderline gimmicky decor and vibe of the Hairy Lemon. The food was overpriced but decent. Skip the fish & chips (not very crispy), but the seafood chowder was delicious, and came with a decent amount of seafood

We came here for lunch and it was pretty good. The lunch menu is not served until exactly 12 pm so we did have to wait until then. The seafood chowder was surprisingly very good. The fish and chips was just ok. We also ordered tea which was great. Service was ok, we were seated fast since it was so empty. The inside is a nice vibe, there is a different area for eating vs just the pub.

This place was great! It had a very cozy and has an authentic vibe. There was also live music to create the perfect ambiance but it was a bit loud. I got the vegetarian burger and it was wonderful! It was a bean patty that was breaded and deep fired which gave it that extra pizazz. They did not have good gluten free options but they were able to do a lettuce wrap for one of the burgers.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

Upon entering it was slightly confusing as to go upstairs or into the bar area to find the hostess to be seated & with no one there to help us we walked into the Bar area to the right & ordered a few Guinness's & waited for someone to seat us somewhere. We ended up being seated in the entry area right at the entrance which was fine because it was super loud up the stairs. We ordered the Pork Pie & The Beef Casserole. Both were really good & filling. The service was decent & the ambiance was nice although it was very, very loud. Overall it was a great meal with above average prices but I'm not sure we'd go back next time due to the other factors.

From the…read moreoutside, it plants itself confidently among Dublin's historic streets with a façade that promises hearty fare and good pints; inside, the space is warm and inviting with dark wood, exposed brick, beautiful murals, and comfortable seating that encourages lingering. My party of six walked in on a Wednesday night at around 7:30pm; at that time, the restaurant was about half-full, but filled up over the course of our meal. The menu has plenty of options ranging from healthy salads to traditional Irish dishes to your standard hearty pub fare. Drinks are also fairly priced here, and they have a good range of ales and lagers on tap (and of course, the classic Guinness). I opted for their Rustic Dublin Coddle (€20.50), which is a sizeable bowl of warming soup with two chargrilled, tender pork sausages, smoky bacon, soft potatoes, and onion, served with toasted sourdough bread. I appreciated the clean taste of the soup (made with an herbed chicken broth), which cut the rich fattiness of the sausage and bacon. I do wish the soup had been served with a more traditional Irish brown bread, but the sourdough was tasty nonetheless. Another great dish was the Waterloo Prime Irish Beef Burger (€19), which is a large patty of juicy, prime Irish beef served atop a toasted bun, with red onions, baby gem lettuce, pickled gherkins, and a tangy smoked Dublin cheddar. Some friends ordered the Superfood Salad (€15), which has a plethora of fresh vegetables and grains, but they noted it was quite bland, even with the French dressing. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side for a pub, but I find Waterlooo Bar unique in that the atmosphere feels classic but lively: you get that laid-back Dublin pub energy with a hint of sophistication that makes it great for both casual meals and nights out. The food is solid if not stellar, the vibe is fun, and prices are reasonable for the area; a satisfying pick for an Irish pub dinner.
