Make your own bowls with the white sauce!

Love a quick place like this with delicious bowls! The regular size was good for dinner and lunch the next day so that's nice (only a dollar more than small). The employees were friendly and the restaurant was clean! My favorite part was that they have a refrigerator full of their sauces for the customers that you can put however much you like on your own!

Stopped by here on opening day and managed to snag the bogo ticket they were doing so I got two for the price of one! The staff were really kind and friendly. They were going through the line to give folks water so it seemed like they were really prepared for the day. They were also taking orders as quickly as they could but with masks and music, miscommunication happened at some points during the ordering process. During a non grand opening day, I assume it wouldn't be as busy or loud. The food was great! Definitely did not disappoint. The portion was large and the meat was cooked really well, and of course the sauce was the highlight! You can truly add as much as you want - no judgment from anyone. I'd suggest not being as generous with the red sauce though - even if you like spice, it's definitely not something anyone could handle in large quantities. Next time, I'd want to try their falafels for sure. So glad Porter Square has a Halal Guys now!

Grand opening! It's nice to have Halal Guys expand more to the greater Boston area. If you haven't experienced Halal Guys look up their review at the original location before it became a franchise in New York City. The BOGO offer is only for first 100 on 8/6 and first 25 on 8/7 and 8/8.

I was quite looking forward to Halal Guys opening a location right here in my neighborhood as its one of the many things I missed since I moved up here from NY. I had some reservations on the price knowing it most likely won't be like what we pay for when it was just served out of food trucks. If the food was awesome I had no qualms about paying for it, but honestly the food itself wasn't too spectacular either unfortunately. I'm mostly biased since I've eaten quite many different chicken/gyro over rice plates when I was living and working in NYC so I try not to be too harsh. Honestly my biggest pet peeve would be the portion size of the salad as it took up half of the container already before anything else gets added. The chicken seems not as flavorful as well, tasted more like rotisserie chicken and lacked in spices that you usually see. The gyro however I had no complaints definitely one of the better components in the platter. I tend not to like the white sauce too much but it's nice that the staff didn't just go ahead and spray it all over the plate before I asked her to go easy on the sauce haha. I think they'll do well at this location seeing there's really a lack of gyro/chicken rice variety here so it does fill a need but for me it'll just make me miss the NYC halal food carts even more at this rate.

I came here for the BOGO opening event. It was lit! The staff were very kind and provided water for people waiting in line in the hot sun. There was a DJ inside, balloons, and a ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor of Cambridge. I got 2 of the combo platters which lasted me for 4 meals -- not bad for $11 per platter. I liked the chicken a lot more than the beef gyro. The chicken was fresh and juicy while the beef was a bit dry and didn't have as good of a flavor. The chicken is obviously being prepared very fresh. I would definitely just get a chicken plate next time. The salad seemed fresh and the pita bread and rice were good sides. The sauces were the usual Halal Guys sauces (I had forgotten how spicy that hot sauce was!). I'm happy to have them in Porter and am looking forward to stopping by again!

I have eaten at Halal guys in New York and have it catered to the office occasionally. And it can be delicious. For whatever reason, this location creates inedible garbage.

My favorite is the Combo (Chicken and Beef gyro) plate and my wife gets the falafel plate (vegetarian).

Yummyyyyyy! As I sit here eating leftovers from our dinner order the other night!!…read more We ordered delivery - big plate chicken- tender chicken very flavorful with potatoes and veggies and pasta. The stir fry dry chicken was really good too even though it was oily but so tasty! The laghman was enjoyed by the hubs. And I really enjoyed the fish dish - also very oily and could use less oil definitely. But tasty. Food came within a reasonable time. Overall quite satisfied with the food! Plenty of leftovers. Will order again.

They're filled with this flavorful broth so despite looking very unassuming they were bursting with flavor. We came here on a Sunday evening without a reservation and were seated in 10min. The menu is entirely online but food came out quickly after we ordered. Dishes we got: - beef laghman: spiced well and chewy noodles! I liked it, although I was a bit confused if it was Uyghur or Chinese because it tasted very similar to Chinese food to me - Pork dumplings: delicious, you have to get these. They look so boring. They're SO good and there's so many. - Mapo tofu: my mouth was very numb eating this but the tofu was silky smooth. I can only assume it was good but I didn't have much spice tolerance left in me after the laghman.

We ordered the cheese topokki (soft rice cake, fish cake, vegetable, & mozzarella in Korean spicy sauce) & the beef bulgogi bowl (fried marinated beef, vegetables, steamed rice & side of soup). The cheese topokki was just as good as we remembered - chewy, flavorful, comforting, & a little bit weird. The cheese was poorly distributed, but it was still very tasty. The beef bulgogi bowl was really underwhelming. Firstly, it was very little food. We were promised vegetables, but there were only a few scarce onions & zucchini pieces mixed in. It was also dry. It was devoid of moisture & sauce, so we added some from the fridge at home. The side of soup was a joke. It filled only about 2/3 of the container & looked so sad, we wondered if it was the sauce that we we so desperately needed. Nope, just a meager amount of watered down miso soup. So the conclusion - great topokki, sub-par bulgogi, non-existent soup.

For the food, we got the tuna kimbap, Seoul toppoki, and bulgogi hot pot for two. Everything was SO good. The ingredients were fresh and the food was flavorful (sweet from the bulgogi, savory from the mushrooms, spicy from the toppoki sauce, salty from the tuna, and sour from the pickled vegetables). The price for the portion size was a great value and we ended the night feeling very full and even had to pack up an entire container of the hotpot for two that we didn't finish. Overall, we had a great time and I can't wait to come back again. This might be my new favorite Korean food spot in the Boston area.

She was so excited when she found Cafe Bonjour because they had several gluten-free options on the menu. We took an Uber there right after we landed and were able to walk right in and get a table when they opened, which worked out perfectly because the place started to fill up! It's a cute little spot with plenty of seating inside, and they also had a nice outdoor parklet that would be great in good weather. We asked to sit at the bar so we could watch the cooks in action, which was really fun. The menu had all the classic breakfast favorites like eggs and French toast, along with some lunch options like hamburgers and chicken wraps. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the gluten-free eggs benedict and absolutely loved it. I had the Bonjour omelet, and it was delicious. Overall, this is a fantastic breakfast spot with great food, a fun atmosphere, and solid gluten-free options.

Other than that I'd stop somewhere else for a brunch.
