All AAA establishments. This was not edible. Ordered the chicken plate. The chicken didn't even taste like chicken. It was worse than the pre made bags they sell at Publix. I would like to start off by saying that Fariyal is amazing at what she does. She is by far the nicest person I've ever met. She is always very welcoming and kind. One time I came in and I was going through a lot and she noticed something wasn't right and she told me if I needed to talk she was there for me, and that she was. She was very understanding, caring and supportive, even though she didn't even know me. She definitely deserves all the praising and all the gratitude for not only her work at the restaurant, but for who she is as a person. Sadly, I'm not leaving a review only about her. I am leaving a review because today I had a really bad incident with one of the employees here. The image lf the lady in the image above is not fariyal, this lady was very rude to me today, I came in and asked ifFariyal was there, as sometimes I come inside to get food and to have a little chat with her, and sometimes if I dont see her, I ask the employees if she is present. I asked this lady in the picture if Fariyal was there and she very rudely told me why do you keep asking if Fariyal is here just get your food and get the hell out of here. she ended up cursing at me and not only that, but she started degrading me talking about my appearance, my weight and so on. No matter what, nobody should ever speak to somebody like this. This incident makes me never want to come back to the restaurant again! It was so bad that I started crying and another employee had to hug me and comfort me. Nobody should feel like they cannot come to a restaurant because they were bullied and degraded by an employee. The food is more toned down with seasoning and taste compared to what you get in New York. We've been trying all the local Middle Eastern restaurants falafel sandwiches. This place did not measure up. I spent almost $20 for 2 falafel sandwiches and a beverage. Each sandwich only had 3 falafel balls and tons of lettuce and tomato. Basically a salad on a pita with a hint of falafel. I was also asked if I wanted some humus on it for $1 extra. Most every other falafel sandwich I've had included some humus. Needless to say I will not be back! When I lived in NYC I had some amazing Falafel at Mamoons in the village, Sunshine in Union Sq and Wafas in Brookly. So the very much anticipated NYC Halal Food street cart has sold their brand and opened a chain of fast food restaurants. This is an interesting idea, but the two do NOT compare. Living in NYC, my husband and I frequented this food cart. It was delicious, amazing, life-changing, etc. However, I just don't think their brand translates well from the street cart to the fast food concept. The flavor here is just not on point. Each time, I've ordered the combo platter. It's rice, iceburg lettuce, and tomato, topped with both chicken and beef gyro meat. You can opt for white sauce and/or hot sauce striped on top- but beware- that hot sauce is HOT. It doesn't have a lot of flavor, but instead just a lot of heat! I love heat, but since this lacks flavor, it's not my favorite. Service on my last visit was not good at all. The older lady behind the counter just kept asking me over and over about my order. I kept reminding her i was the platter and the sandwich. On the sandwich, she asked if i wanted onions. I said NO. She then began to sprinkle them on top. I reminded her that I said NO while she was doing it. She just looked at me, stopped, tried to wipe some off, and when she couldn't get them all off, she just put the sandwich down and off to the side and took the next customer! Awkward! The manager guy told her to listen better to the orders, but no one offered to fix this. Would we come back? Ehhh, maybe if in the area and in need of a quick bite. The halal guys concept is like any other place nowadays that does the bowl concept with proteins. I think chipotle is a 4 star, so to be honest this is at most 3.5 When you come in you either select whether you want a regular portion, or large portion. It's about 1.50 difference. 8.49 (reg), 9.99 (large). To be honest, regular hits the spot for me. Then you select whether you want just chicken, beef, or the combination (gyro and chicken, most popular). I got the combo. Next, they ask if you want lettuce and tomato. Later on you'll receive a piece of pita which is prob the best thing about the bowl... at the end, you can choose if you want onions and peppers.. white, red or bbq sauce The white and red sauce go great with the bowl. But don't overdo it. The rice is a bit dry, but the protein may offset that. The color scheme of the place is red and yellow so I thought that was pretty cool. I love Halal Guys! The guy who started first was very nice. My sister asked if she can do half beef and half falafel, he asked his manager, just Incase for us, and told us yes! He made sure he got what we wanted and asked if we any other fried food like fries or more falafel so he could fry them the same time (time and cooking efficient). They gave us a good amount of white sauce and the manager even asked us if we want more white sauce when we were half way eating. The chicken and the beef were seasoned well and not dry. The falafels was not over cooked and was crispy. I really like them. I noticed most halal guys locations don't really ask much if you want green bell peppers and/or onions after they put the meat and pita in the bowl. You have to ask if they can do it. Do the rewards because if you get fries on the first purchase and get so many rewards if you keep coming! I had 5 free drinks, I was going to use them for the heck out of it but the manager told me if I want to save them, it can add up to a free platter. I didn't know that, I'm so glad she told me. A friend and I met at Halal Guys for lunch and really enjoyed our food. The place is small but perfect for what they do. I remember having their food when I was in New York and was excited to see them opening in South Florida! I always order the small platter with basmati rice, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken (you have other choices), a few pieces of pita bread and I added Kalamata olives. You do have a choice to add sauces but I do not eat sauces so I'm not sure what's good. However; I did add a side of fried Falafel which are so good. It's not for everyone but if you already like falafel then order it. I like that they fry those to order. Mmmmm delicious! I really enjoy the combination of my small platter, food amount is sufficient, great value and it's very filling. Honestly can't ask for much more from this place. We wanted to try halal guys for the first time but the other reviews ALMOST tricked us into not going, thank god we did. The place was clean, service was VERY fast and everyone there was perfectly friendly. Our falafels were made to order, everything tasted excellent (fries included) after driving 45 minutes to drive home and eat. Not sure what everyone else's experience was, as I'm just visiting from out of town, they had issues with my coupon (in app deal on my phone) however.... and just gave me free food when the coupon didn't work. When this location came to South FL, it was super busy due to people remembering the famous NY food. This location does a good job in highlighting the basic menu that is known for Halal Guys' favorites. They have bowls or the wraps. The sides include French fries, hummus, baba ganaoush. Dessert is baklava. My order always is the regular size bowl combo of chicken and beef. The yellow rice are a must but the salad part can be avoided. The white sauce is the highlight of the bowl. Halal guys let me tell you my review of this restaurant. I ordered a large chicken and beef bowl. It came with the protein, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, pita bread, and sauce.The protein was seasoned well and the beef had all different types of meat. I believe that there was sausage and beef. The white sauce complements the overall meal. They pour the white sauce over and they ask you when you want to stop. You also have the option to add hot sauce. Keep in mind that the hot sauce is HOT. They will ask you how much lines you want. I asked for one and it was perfect. The other topping were bland, they could have added some seasoning to them. From the pushcarts of NYC come The Halal Guys. Yes, i am from NYC but no, I have never eaten from a Halal Guys cart so I have no basis for comparison. Last night was my second visit to the Davie location. Our first visit was when the place was not yet open, the staff was training, and the food was free, so I did not think it appropriate to write a review yet. The Halal Guys does remind me of many small hole in the wall places in NYC. It is very narrow with only a few places to sit inside (mostly 2 seaters) and a few tables outside. It can even be difficult to go back and get cutlery and napkins as these items are behind the sofa machine. When you eat inside there will be people in line standing right next to you. The line can get long but it moves swiftly as the menu is very limited: Chicken, Beef Gyro, Falafel Sandwiches and platters, along with hummus, baba ghanouj, fries for sides, and baklava for dessert. That's it. On both visits I got a small combo platter with some falafel on the side because I wanted to taste everything. The falafel was freshly made, served hot and crisp. I really liked it. The platters are served with shredded iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, rice, pita bread, and the sauces of your choice (white, hot, BBQ) You can however, modify what is on your platter. No rice and all veggies? No problem. I thought the rice was a bit too orange and absolutely bland. The chicken and beef gyro were okay but much better with the white sauce. I tasted the hot sauce on the side and it was very hot. I don't mind a bit of heat but this sauce was all heat without flavor. I believe if a restaurant is specializing in and serving only a couple of items, these items should really make your mouth water. The food I had at The Halal Guys was was adequate but not super fantastic. I do have to add that all the staff members were really hustling and very nice. I noticed one of the managers, Nora behind the line and she was very sweet and accommodating. The other manager was very helpful as well. When I voiced my regret about getting rice in my platter he offered to switch it out for all salad. I did not do it last night but I will probably order that in the future. Finally this delicious food cart had expanded past the corner of 53rd and 6th! I remember many NYC trips ended up with 3AM cravings for the Halal Guys. It tastes phenomenal sober or slightly intoxicated and at any hour of the day. There's so much history to this little restaurant that had a simple task, share their specialty dish with the world. This location is always busy as far as I know. The lines go out the door, but don't fret, the food is worth the wait. I opted for the regular size of their combo platter cause I was sharing with my mom. If you're a big eater, you might nor want to share this. Or if you're a light eater, they have a small size as well. I got mine with all the works, lettuce tomatoes pita and white sauce. No hot sauce for me but I heard it was tasty. What to expect: This is casual food like Chipotle or Moes but in middle eastern style. Their menu is pretty simple. Your proteins are chicken, beef or falafel. Either get a sandwich or platter. I opted for the combo platter which came with chicken and beef, rice, and salad. The white sauce is amazing so make sure to get that on your platter. The red sauce is a real killer in spiciness. If you do get it make sure you mix it real well before eating. Sam M tried the chicken sandwich which basically came in a naan wrapped with chicken, salad and the sauce. They also have sides like baba gonush, hummus, fries etc but I did not try the side items. The platters come in small or regular size which are 7.99 and 8.99. Sandwich option is 6.99. Extra sauces are a up charge but they come in packaging and are nice to take home for left over. The restaurant itself was very clean even with a line on the second day of 30-50 minutes. The employees are well trained because the accuracy and speed they were taking the orders was great. The Halal Guys is actually one of my favorite places to eat in NYC. I actually will drive 3 and a half hours to NYC just for the Halal guys mixed platter when I lived in Rhode Island. I've been watching this place and waiting for them to open for months. So finally, when they opened I decided to come here at least a week after to avoid the long lines and crowds. I came here today around 12 pm and there was nobody in line! There were about 12 workers on. I felt like VIP lol. I actually called ahead to place an order but they said they don't do that. The employees were friendly since they greeted me as I walked in. I ordered three lamb and chicken combo platters (picking up for my coworkers). They didn't offer any sizes so I assumed it was one size. However, there's a regular and small. The regular platter was $8.99 each. The employee said they didn't have lamb so I opted for beef and chicken. It comes in a silver container with salad, spicy rice (not spicy at all), meats, 2 pieces of pita, white sauce, and red sauce. The sauces were amazing, just how I remembered it. Next time I will have to order extra white sauce and red sauce since I love saucy and spicy. The salad was fresh, only downfall was they put half the container of it. In NYC, they only put a quarter of the salad. I may just leave out the salad next time so I could get more rice and meat. The rice was good but kind of dry and hard. The meats were deliciously seasoned; downfall was they didn't give much meat. The pitas were soft and good. Although, I couldn't finish it and had some leftovers, mainly the salad though since there was so much of it. I asked for extra packets of hot sauce and the girl only gave me one. I had three rice platters, come on now. So next time I'm going to ask them to load up the hot sauce right onto the dish (I may regret this later lol). The inside was very clean with a few tables. There were a couple of tables outside. This is more of a takeout place as these tables could get snagged on a busy day. In the end, it's not like it's big brother up in NYC. However, this will suffice when I'm craving Halal Guys and don't feel like traveling 1265.7 miles to get some. Give it a try! I LOVE HALAL GUYS! I am from NYC and moved to Miami over a year ago. When I heard Halal Guys was opening near me, I couldn't contain my excitement. This is a big deal for NYers. I live in Doral so I made the 40 minute drive to the grand opening. I was not disappointed. I went knowing I would have to wait in line, just like in NYC. I brought a book and was ready. I was greeted by some of the employees. They directed me to the line and gave me a menu. I already had my heart set on what I was going to order though. There was a DJ playing to keep the crowd entertained and employees were handing out water to those waiting on line. There was a prize wheel to spin as you got closer to the entrance. I ended up spinning and winning a free order of fries. In total, I waited an hour on the line and it was worth every minute. The ordering process is simple and quick. I ordered the regular platter with gyro meat. The platter comes with lettuce, tomato, pita bread, yellow rice, and gyro meat. Your platter moves down the line as they add more items to it. You can either add gyro meat or chicken or both to your platter. There is white sauce and hot sauce to add as well. YOU WANT THE WHITE SAUCE! I bathed my platter in it. Just as spot on as getting it from NY! Yes the hype is real. I'm a huge fan. Mainly because the two times that I have visited, I missed the line! The open kitchen and fast assembly line is a plus. From watching the cooks grill the chicken, to the workers preparing your platter in front of you, Halal Guys is the place for lunch or dinner. Located in a busy plaza, it can take a while just to get to the actual store on a busy weekend. A lot of traffic and if you don't know where the restaurant is, it can take you a while circling around this huge plaza. GPS does not help at all as it indicates that the restaurant is on the other side of the street. I wanted to try Halal Guys so I drove all the way down from Palm Beach and it was well worth the drive! I got the regular size combo platter which included chicken and beef gyro, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, rice and pita bread. Just like other assembly line focused restaurants, they have a certain portion of ingredients up front. Once it runs out, they fill with fresh meat / vegetables. This is key as you don't want your meat sitting out too long. What makes their taste is the white sauce they give. DELICIOUS, I want white sauce on everything. I eat this all the time in NY since the days they started years ago, so let me give you an honest review. If you are from NY, then you'll walk in and look at their options and know this isn't the real deal and the first thing that tips it off is that you have options of lettuce with tomato. In NY, it's just three options: 1) lettuce; 2) rice; 3) chicken/lamb/mixed. Then you add your hot sauce and/or white sauce as you like. But in order to make this a store and not a street cart, I understand why they had to give the public more options. The chicken isn't cooked the same, but it is for sure close. It's not even cut the same. It actually looks like chicken, compared to NY where you wonder how they cut it that way lol but it's great! The service is not the fast NY service of Egyptians (being Egyptian myself), but that really doesn't matter to me. Just a comment on authenticity. I really think this place is 3.5 stars but I rounded up to 4, because I'm happy they made a decent attempt. I would recommend it to Florida visitors who never tasted the original NY because you can't compare so you don't know what you're missing. This is the real deal almost like you get on the street in NYC. It's better from the street truck, though. The menu is very limited, gyro, falafel or chicken either pita or bowl with rice. They have some toppings, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, kalamata olives and jalapeños. The staff is efficient but I never find them overly friendly but they do get the orders right. The meals are reasonable but as far as fast food it's a little pricier than others. My only complaint is that a packet of sauce to go is .60. I don't mind the change, but once you pay of you ask them you have to get your wallet back out for nickels and dimes. I think for two salads and a pita to go for $36.00 I could get a packet of sauce. They also only sell fries in one size, which I think is $3.99 (I hope I'm right) It's too big for one person for sure. They do have a variety of sauces that they can put onto the food, white sauce, tahini or hot sauce. The restaurant inside is very small and they have some outdoor tables. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat today on my lunch break while I was running some errands in Tower Shops. The menu is pretty straight forward and limited. Not a bad thing, they just keep it to the point. You basically choose the way you want your protein served up. I went for the beef gyro sandwich. It comes with your pick up toppings so you can omit some if you aren't a fan, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers and choice of sauce. The meat is chopped up which makes it a little easier to eat, but the pieces are a bit on the small side which creates new problems of it crumbling before you as you take bites. I also like my pita toasted a bit, without the toasting I find it gets a little gummy. This was the case with this particular pita, although fresh, i just prefer it toasted. I also could have used a little more sauce, they don't pour it on. It is also not traditional tzatziki with yogurt and cucumbers, they even just call it "white sauce." Overall, it was good for a quick bite, but if you're expecting some traditional Greek/Mediterranean food, you may want to find another stop! read more

We are in town for vacation and I noticed The Halal Guys were close so we ordered in some. I'm from NYC so I've had the Original Halal Guys food from the cart so I had really high expectations. I was disappointed. The rice in my wife's falafel platter was dry and sort of an anemic portion size. My platter was a little better but overall not to the same quality as the one from the cart. I understand it's a chain now but there should be some standardization of quality when you put your name on something. We're not from the area but I assume there are better halal spots around here. read more

I love halal guys, but today I do not. Not this location. Very upset and disappointed considering I drove here all the way from East Fort Lauderdale... I came in today around 1pm. There was 3 people working. One of the orders had a really long piece of hair in the food... you guys need to really pay better attention and handle the food better... I'm disgusted and upset. Not worth driving back in traffic to get a refund or another platter. read more

I'm surprised by the low rating here! They might've improved or they might've been better for my experience. I will say it wasn't perfect, but the food was good and well done. The positives were that I got my food very fast and it was really good in flavor. I got the gyro platter which came with gyro beef, lettuce, tomato, rice, and pita bread. The girl asked me if I wanted white and hot sauce and I said yes but light hot sauce and she asked if I'd ever had it before. When I said no, she said it would be better to have on the side because it is very hot. I appreciated that she asked and didn't just put it on without saying anything. The cashier was also very nice and there was a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The negatives were just that at first the servers seemed kind of out of it and you could tell they didn't really want to be there. They weren't unkind, but it gives off a weird vibe. But she did end up turning my opinion around by making sure I didn't burn my mouth to pieces. The other thing was that the rice-to-everything else ratio was pretty off. I wish there had been more meat and less rice as I was left with so much and I was wanting more of that delicious gyro meat! I definitely want to come back and try the pita wrap though! TLDR: Entered the scene with a ton of hype...lived up to said hype. _____ The combo platter is where the party is at. Came on a Friday night and it was pretty busy outside. The staff was super upbeat - kind of refreshing to see so many cheery people one a Friday night...working. They must have a good work-culture here, to have the staff excited. Love it. "You want friessss riiiiight?" The young woman asked me with a devilish grin. Yes. Yes, I do actually. Well, I didn't. But now I do. Dammit you're a good sales person. She upcharged me without me noticing and I wasn't even mad. Cause those fries were LEGIT. They are crispy and delicious. They might look like cafeteria fries, but they aren't. The combo plate is a massive serving. Don't do the mistake I made and devour it all. It's ok to save some for later. I did. And it was even better after. Here's what it had inside: lettuce tomato white sauce half a line of spicy (this is insanely spicy, and they will warn you it's super duper spicy) more white sauce gyro chicken rice MORE WHITE SAUCE. The lettuce adds a nice cool crisp to it to combat the hot sauce. The chunks of gyro are such a delight. The chicken chunks are also great....I love it...don't be scared to just dig in and mix it all up....when all those flavors combine, it's the best way to enjoy it. read more

Understanding that businesses are currently affected by COVID-19, I decided to stop by Halal Guys for a quick takeout order. The plaza was entirely empty, so I wasn't surprised that the restaurant wasn't busy. After I walked in, I noticed that no employees were at the counter. I waited for a few minutes, and even tried standing in a spot that was viewable by the kitchen window. However, nobody ever came out to take my order, yet the place was open. The door was unlocked, and food items were prepped in their respective containers. I really wanted to try Halal Guys, especially since there's a big hype about this chain up north, but I guess it'll have to wait. read more
